I am helping an elderly neighbour with his desktop HP Compaq under Windows XP SP3 computer. His computer locked up with FBI scam malware. I used the Defender off line to take back control (2 virus found and rremoved). Then, I downloaded and ran Malwarebytes who found several viruses more. Finally, he had installed free AVAST on this machine and I scanned it and found some things still more to remove.
Then I noticed that the AVAST has been installed to the MSE. I uninstalled AVAST using the AVAST removal tool and uninstalled MSE using Control Panel/Add / Remove. I ran a treatment cleanser. I also ran the McAfee and Norton tools of deletion, just to be sure.
I reinstalled MSE, but MSE could not turn on Windows Firewall. After reading a few posts in this forum on this issue, I tried to activate Windows through Security Center Firewall. I received the message that "due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows Firewall settings". I checked the services and found no. Windows Firewall listed there. Not sure where it is. Also, FYI, it seems that Windows Update does not either. I get an error message when I click on EXPRESS to install updates ("the website has encountered a problem... »).
OUCH. It looks like a mess. Any suggestions on next steps?

Today I got a text from a mobile phone no, informing me that my ID Apple has been locked. I did not answer or clicking on the link sent in the message, because I suspect that it's maybe a scam.
I was able to connect to Apple in order to send this message, which proves that the text is not authentic. I just want to warn others.
Hello
Clicking on the link, you have made the right choice.

Permanently locked, apparently appleid password
So here's my problem: I can connect on the Apple site using my appleID, no problem. What I can't do, is sign in the app store or itunes. As in, my password does not WORK for these purposes. When I try, it says that "my account has been blocked for security reasons. To unlock it, you must verify your identity. "I click on"unlock the account"and it just wonder if I want to change my password via e-mail or security issues, but it'S NOT HELPING. I changed my password to a whole bunch of times, and it WILL NOT unlock my account. I wrote to the support apple several times, and he has been extremely useless: for the most part, they do not respond, and when they do, it's tell me to do the thing that I'VE ALREADY DONE SEVERAL TIMES. Apparently, I'm unable to adequately convey the nature of the problem.
This is just speculation, but it could have something to with the fact that I had a stolen tablet a few months back. This may possibly have triggered Apple overactive security. In addition, there is some confusion about where I should go ask for help: Yes, I'm in Indonesia, but I am an American with a computer purchased American using the American versions of all programs.
Help would be very appreciated.
You need schedule a call with Apple for help with this issue: https://getsupport.apple.com/
Good luck

Dell laptop, invaded by the scam that has locked computer
The first answer has not corrected the situation. After I log in with my password, the desktop appears briefly and then I get a message from so-called Federal Bureau of Investigation asking $ to unlock the computer. It does allow me to do something. I stuck on F8 with no result.
I would appreciate more assistance. Thanking you in advance for your help.

My daughter dropped her Iphone earlier. The phone is locked with a 4 digit code.
The sim card and the phone (its IMEI) reported stolen and are blocked by the operator.
A few weeks back it started to receive text messages that her lost phone had been found and she was invited to follow a link. A link that leads to a phishing site. She didn't click here.
These days she's been doing e-mail messages saying the same thing: his lost phone have found strange links.
Text messages, I can understand because they can found his phone number of the sim card (she got a new sim card to the operator using the same number today), but how can they know his email? His AppleID?
It makes me really worried if they managed to get to the phone somehow.
The phone as reported as stolen to the Police
The phone is blocked and locked by the operator
The phone has been defined as lost and we also click content thingie erase icloud (not sure that it worked well)
We changed all the passwords (AppleID, e-mail, etc.)
The phone has been removed completely to iCloud
Is there something else we should / can do? Can stop us these scam messages to enter?
If, during the period between when the phone has been lost/stolen and you reported, the unbelievers could use Siri to find information. If Siri were not off on the lock screen, what they should have done is call Siri and ask the phone belonged to. If your daughter kept its own information of contact in the phone, as do many people, they could have accessed.
It seems that if you took all the right steps. There is really no way to prevent people to continue to send you emails scam. Treat them as you would any other spam.
Good luck.

iPhone 4 ios locked icloud 7.1.2
I bought an i phone4, ios 7.1.2 and restored, I cloud locked, I asked the owner for the password and it does not for me but when I try to activate the phone it shows "blocked for security reasons apple ID, go to appleid.apple.com to reset your password" I contacted the original owner abt and it does not answer is there something that I can get to activate the phone as an Apple store or something...
Thanks in advance...
NO. Even if you go into an Apple store, they cannot help and cannot do anything for you. You have come against so-called lock Activation which is an anti theft on the phone device.
Unfortunately, there is absolutely nothing you can do and you will never be able to use this phone. You've probably been scammed, especially given the fact that the original seller no longer meets your messages.
You need this chalk up to experience and move on and buy a new iPhone, but this time from a legitimate source, which is direct to an Apple store or a company.
Nothing else you can do, and Apple can't help.

Apparent AppleID blocked without reason
Lately, since about 2 months ago I ve been asked by my Apple devices (my AppleTV or iPhone, or iPod or MacBook for some reason any my Apple Watch doesn´t this message) who will present the password for my AppleID ande rhe when I do there is always a message saying "this ID Apple has been locked for security reasons.
This usually happens about twice a week. This weekend happened every day of saturdasy ´til today.
I have two-stage verification and implemented two-factor authentication in place since last year.
In my Macbook, I use ZenMate VPN for February 2016 and never had a problem, but I m thinking that might be the reason why my AppleID keep was blocked.
Or is it maybe someone really put to access mi AppleID?
The most annoying is that whenever that happens, I have to change my password, which means that I have to re - authenticate all my devices.
All comments about this behavior?
A couple of things - as far as I know, you can't 2FA both 2SV put in place at the same time. It's one or the other. Check the settings you have for it.
One possibility is indeed the VPN. Try to disable it temporarily and see if the error message still appears.
