application of RAID a6750t

Hello

I get a new a6750t.  I know that there are 6 SATA channels and 2 bays for HARD drives and 2 bays of DVD.  I think the configuration of the system, w / additional spare parts, can you please share your insight on whether it is possible to do?  If this is the case, what are the steps to do it?

The original system has:

1 1 DVD in 5.25 Bay

2 1 3.5 HDD bay

3. 1 media portable drive in the 5.25 Bay

4. 1 drive Bay HARD 3.5 empty

5. 1 empty 5.25 bay

Planned system:

1 get support 5.25 to 3.5

2. Mount the original boot HDD to the bays of DVD blanks, w / support above and use it as disk HARD boot/primary

3. as I have 2 drive bays HARD 3.5 empty after that last, that move, I can put in 2 identical HDD and use this pair in RAID 1 for data

4. now, I

5 1 DVD in the 5.25 Bay, 1 HDD (boot) to 5.25 bay, 1 portable media to 5.25 Bay drive

6. 2 HARD 2 3.5 drive bays

The questions are:

Is this possible?

What to look out for in terms if you use a single boot HARD disk but 1 data disk HARD RAID 1 pair?

What measures would you propose to pass me to set this up?

Your ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you.

Well, I have finally all the parts I needed for this re-config for RAID.  Here's what I did.

Hardware side:

1 open the PC and out of the hard drive cage, the cage holds 2 hard drives.  Remove the original hard drive w / operating system installed.

2 use a couple of 3.5 "Bay 5.25" in square brackets, was obtained from amazon.com for $7 and mounted the hard drive of origin on these media.

3. fit this all in spare 5.25 "Bay.  Instead of using the mechanism provided in the PC, I used a couple of screws, safer for the hard drive.

4. put 2 new drives in the HDD cage and replace the cage in.

5. do all the connectors for SATA and power.

Software side:

1. Press F10 on boot up and make sure the SATA RAID controller has the value.

2. press on ctrl + i and go into the settings of Intel Matrix Storage Manager ROM

3. create RAID on 2 new hard drives and choose the good.  It will help if you know before hand those who are new before closing the box on the hardware side.

4 reboot.

Now, I have what I decided to do, using fully all the drive bays and maximize space from my hard drive.

Thanks for reading.

  • Intel RAID Option ROM

I tried to get ESXi 3.5 update 4 is installed on my Dell Dimersion 8400 and have encountered a problem with my RAID controller.

    A few statistics:

    Chipset: Intel 925 X

    RAID controller: 82801FR (ICH6R)

    Hard drives: 1 TB 2xSATA

Given that ESX is not taken in the way Windows RAID support not I changed the setting in the BIOS to explicitly enable RAID (as opposed to deduction if there is a signature).  This allowed me to enter the Intel Application Acceleration RAID ROM (v4.0) option where I could create a RAID1 array with my hard drives.

After you have created the RAID1 array installation ESX failed (he had worked without any active RAID).  I've updated the BIOS and that seems to have fixed (no more panic: no bootable sector or similar error messages).

However, I don't know if my RAID array does not work correctly.  ESX shows only a single default data store, but it does not find the second hard drive.  My thought was that with material creating a table that ESX would only see a 'hard drive '.  The truth in my opinion?

Anyone has any ideas on how to test the table?  I guess trying to start individually on each disc?

Make me more comfortable, it's info pages Intel Application Acceleration RAID on intel.com explicitly that it does not support a list of Linux/Unix O / its.

I guess I'm looking for ideas or advice on the best configuration for ESX RAID1 with my Intel chipset.  Perhaps a RAID PCI controller?  Any advice is welcome.

Almost all Intel RAID chipsets are really just a software raid implemented in the driver.  ESX sees these as separate drives.

No really no way around it.

  • Replacement for HP Pavilion Elite e9250t HARD drive

I get an error message saying "A disk in a RAID 0 volume is a failure".

I plan to replace both drives, currently, to 500 discs with a capacity higher than as 2 TB each. The Pavilion Elite e9250t supports 2 TB disks? And can I install them with RAID, so that my data is protected?

    Hello JMHP,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that you have questions about your desktop PC HP Pavilion Elite e9250t supports 2 TB disks and whether or not it supports RAID. According to HP Pavilion Elite e9250t desktop PC product specifications and configurable Options , your computer supports "2 TB (2 x 1 TB) 7200 RPM SATA 3 G (3.0 Gb/s) ' so the answer to your first question is 'YES', it will support a 2 TB hard. As to your second question as to if she supports RAID, indio motherboard (which is what you have) supports the following:

    • Integrated RAID controller: P55 (same as previously introduced application ICH9r RAID)
    • Steps to configure RAID (internal link to setup for P55, even the steps of configuration for ICH10r and ICH9r)
    • Intel RAID solution is called Intel Matrix Storage Technology (outside link)
    • Only some models indio compatible ship RAID (see datasheet for your model). Compatible RAID means that the system is ready to be configured for RAID 0 or RAID 1.
    • Migration from 1 to 0 is supported by material in the world.
    • RAID modes supported *:
      • RAID 0
      • RAID 1
    • Additional resources:

    * NOTE: three hard disks requires a RAID 5 and RAID 10 four hard drives. While the hardware can support other RAID modes, only RAID 0 and RAID 1 modes are supported on models that include this motherboard.

I hope that I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • All applications "quit unexpectedly" - recently upgraded to El Capitan.

I'm at a complete loss for what to do about my Macbook. I can't identify when the problem started or what caused it, but my guess is it started after my upgrade to El Captian a good a few weeks ago.

You see, I mainly use my iPad and iPhone on the day the day. My Macbook (mid 2010 model ' Macbook' white), just sitting in our living room and is only opened and connected to our TV to stream Netflix on Safari a few nights a week. For the whole of this year, which was its only use, so I can't comment on exactly when the apps doesn't work anymore, because I have not used in a very long while to.
I got a notification of El Capitan upgrade a few months ago, so I did and my Macbook left overnight. It is only a day or two after that I went back to it to find the 'Welcome' screen and the new update in place. I completely forgot I have to perform an update. I then went on Safari as usual to stream a movie on Netflix and nothing could spread to alI. I gave up and closed my Macbook and watched on my iPad instead.

It wasn't while a few days later I thought id try and solve the problem of streaming media. I tried Flash Player in the Finder to check updates, but after typing a single character, all the Finder window disappeared - it has not been seen all that. I tried to access their website but Safari was incredibly slow. I thought about my recent update of El Capitan has then tried to open the App Store for a possible new updated, but I was given message the completely unexpected "App Store." I tried from other applications to find many others gives me the same message, pictures won't work, Mail, Text Edit, and nor will the simple application 'Preview' among many others. However, iTunes opens, and Safari works very slowly. It is so selective with what will be or will not work.

Most of the bugs I find necessarily need access to the App Store, but it won't work. I am looking for fixes for the App Store but I tried a lot of those, and they will not work either. This has been a problem for a good month or so now, but after trying and patches failed, eventually I give up and close my Macbook for a few more weeks before deciding to try again...

What happens on earth I can do to try to solve this problem?

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

  • RAID monitoring

I have a z640 and I used the Intel RAID controller integrated to create a mirrored pair. It works well, but I would like to monitor the readers so I don't know if it has failed and must be replaced.  Is it possible I can do this, say via SNMP or monitor the Windows event logs?

If you install Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST):

When you run the GUI, click on Preferences, there are e-mail settings to send emails on the system of storage of information/warnings/errors. In addition, you will get the balloon messages that appear down by the systray. You can choose to always display the icon iastor on the windows taskbar.  A green check mark is good, yellow triangle is deteriorating, the Red is down.

If you prefer the Windows event logs, you can monitor the event logs applications for events of the event IAStorDataMgrSvc source (IAStorDataMgrSvc is a service that is installed by the Intel RST). You need to filter the event data for the failure or degraded refine storage system errors only.

    I hope this helps.

  • What is the largest hard drive or the RAID supported by El Capitan and Yosemite?

What is the largest hard drive or the RAID supported by El Capitan and Yosemite?  Also, WHERE can I find this specification?  Drobo claims that 16 TB is the largest external RAID supported and I do not.

FYI............ 2 UPDATES since I posted this question:

"1. Drobo has updated their FIRMWARE to allow now to 'beyond' 64 power to RAID".  Thus, their original 16 TB limit has now been replaced by their new limit of 64 to.  Also note that when you use a Drobo, Apple Mac OS does correctly shows space 'Drive' and the 'free space', if the Drobo 16TB exceeds the size; but the Application DashBoard of Drobo displays the correct numbers.  For example, my Drobo 5 d contains 5, 8 TB disks, for a total size beyond 40 to RAID (theoretically, since most of us should know, now, that the ACTUAL SIZE IS SLIGHTLY SMALLER than THE THEORETICAL SIZE).  AVAILABLE FOR USE ACTUAL SIZE IS ONLY 28.9 TB.  Thus, 40-28, 9 = 11.1 TB gets used in place for the PROTECTION of RAID beyond and the difference between REAL SPACE and SPACE THEORY.  It IS NORMAL because any RAID 5 device always uses about 1 size of hard drive for its Protection.  So, knowing this, the DeskTop icon showing 28.9 TB disk space and free space as everything that is not yet used.  However, instead, the Mac OS shows 70,37 TB disk space and free space like 68,37 TB, which are both incorrect.  Although I'd love it if Mac OS has been magically increase my disk space, in fact, these two numbers are false.  Drobo knows this, and Apple has not, in my discussions with both.  So I hope, between the two companies, that this problem can be corrected.

    2. after many hours on the phone with Apple Support, through no less than 6 people including 2 senior advisers, NONE OF THEM COULD ANSWER MY QUESTION ON CE WHO IS MAXIMUM ALLOWED HARD DRIVE or RAID SPACE AUTHORIZED BY Yosemite and El Capitan.  For me, THIS IMPORTANT FACT SHOULD SIMPLY BE LISTED IN THE OS SPECIFICATION TECHNIQUE, it's quick and easy to read on the Support Site.  But Apple is the new bureaucracy, they are, I don't see what is happening any time soon.  So, be aware that, for now, HE IS No. LIMIT ON SIZE, as an Apple adviser said; but could not confirm in writing; and, IT IS AN INCORRECT DISPLAY SIZE AND FREE SPACE, if your drive is greater than an unknown 16 + TB in size.  Note that I have 3 other RAIDs that are properly in place showing that 9 TB, TB 12 and 18 to size; but I do not know how the SIZE IS IMPORTANT to ensure that the operating system display it correctly, except for my Drobo TB 40.  So, the bottom line, somewhere between to 18 and 40 to is where he goes wrong, in its display of sizes.

  • Error "the application"Steam.app"is not open more."

I use Steam to play games, I recently installed Trove which began to hang Steam (and not run) rarely when I clicked on the play button.

Sometimes, when Steam closes (or hangs in my case), when I try to open it again, it gives me an error "the application"Steam.app"is not open more.". It can be fixed by restarting, but it's boring and useless. How can I fix it?

Restart the computer in safe mode. Some caches maintained by the system will be rebuilt.

Safe mode is much slower to start up as normal. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

If you use no FileVault 2 in OS X 10.7 ("Lion") or later version, you can restart as usual (not in safe mode) when the login screen appears. There is no need to log on in safe mode.

If you use FileVault 2 in OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan") or later version, or if you don't know if use you it, you as usual then connect in safe mode, and then restart (not in safe mode.)

If you use FileVault 2 in OS X 10.9 ("Swat") or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you cannot start in safe mode. In this case, request further instructions.

  • Z210: Bad support/problem with recovery of an Z210 system when changing the RAID configuration backup

My Z210 accompanies stripped Bay RAID-0, which currently consists of 2 x 1 TB HDD where the OS partition. I want to change that in RAID-1 mirror, but as the application of TSRI does no such RAID level migration, I thought I would try another approach.

As a solution, I'd do a backup using the Windows backup and restore application. Then, I would change the table using the Boot ROM TSRI before restoring the backup to this new array. But obviously backup 1.9 TB in a table of 932GB will not

So, to make a backup, I firstly disabled 'System Protection' and the file 'Page '. This allowed me to reduce the OS partition to about 50 GB using disk management. Then I re - activate 'System Protection' and the 'Page file' before making the backup and the creation of a system recovery disk. This resulted in a backup of 35 GB that I stocked up on a USB external drive. And now a backup of 35 GB can fit on my reconfigured 932GB RAID - 1 mirror

As such, I cold booted my system and during the boot process, I pressed CTRL-I to get the State of mind RAID Intel Boot ROM. you, CTRL-I've worked only if I started cold and the HP USB keyboard directly connected the first USB slot at the back of the system. The first USB slot is at the top left when you look at the back with the portrait of the tower. Connect the HP USB keyboard in USB port or in the hub of my Dell monitor does not allow me to access the ROM to Boot Intel RAID!

HP should really study this fault

In any case, when I could access the Intel RAID Boot ROM, I deleted the RAID-0 stripped existing and created a new RAID-1 mirror. Obviously, the process is destructive and wipe the BONES of the table but that's what my backup was to

Then I started on the Windows system recovery disk, plugged the USB external drive and proceeded to recover my system.

Everything worked as expected with the operating system partition uses about 50 GB. A simple trip to disk management enabled me to extend the volume to occupy the space allocated, as presented by the RAID-1 array. As such, I find myself with about 932 GB partition that appear in the windows disk management tool. After a check disk and reboot (which fixed some minor issues) all seemed well.

    But no, everything was fine

Well that ROM boot RAID Intel sees that a mirror RAID-1 about 932 GB and the operating system sees a partition about 932 GB, both as expected, demand for Intel RST in windows States the following:

I don't seem to have indication of what type of table, it is, an options to change the name of the table or an option to check the integrity of the array through the TSRI application in windows. If something is screwed

But after the update for the application of iRST version 10.6.0.1002 Intel (the newest HP of) version 11.2.0.1006 (version Intel got very practice), the question seems to correct itself. Now the RAID, Windows boot ROM and the request of TSRI in Windows all agree that the table is indeed a mirror RAID-1 932 GB.

I don't know what caused the problem, if it's related to something that was wrong with the process that I used, if she is simply resolved by reinstalling driver, or if this is a fix for a known issue that Intel has included in their questions later from the pilot.

But what I know is that Intel has resolved a number of issues in the version 12.9.0.1001 driver (which is the latest version for the Cougar Point chipsets) compared to the old driver version 10.6.0.1002 HP has on its support page for the Z210.

And HP seems unwavering in his lack of interest in the Intels 12.9.0.1001 test pilot and then make it available on its support page for what is a product still under warranty

It is a mediocre service if you ask me...

Some HP forum administrator or HP support person hide these forums should impose it in the HP management station and get it looked at. The Z210 is still under warranty for some customers and HP needs to pick up the latest drivers available to all suppliers, test them and then release them to their customers via the support page for this product. All the rest is little change us all.

I was able to resolve the application problem Intel RST by updating to the latest v11.2.0.1006 Intel driver but it has highlighted a few points that HP should address, see linked post above.

PS: Add this post so I can mark the thread as solved.

  • RAID 0 - size of the pagefile - MIPS - Overclocking - HD video Production

    01/06/10

    Hi HP.

Last month I bought a refurbished

    HP Pavilion Elite m9650f
    Product # NJO62AAR #ABA
    S/N [text removed for privacy]

Intel Core i7 920 Quad Core 2.66 GHz CPU
    Pegatron, IPMTB-TK, Truckee (HP) - UL8E, MB
    6 GB (2 GB x 3 sticks), RAM PC3-8500, DDR3,
    750GB, SATA 3 G, 7 200 RPM x 2, RAID 0, HD
    NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT, 1.5 GHz, 512 MB GDDR3

After a rocky start, with many BSOD and updates of the
HP website and replace a bad stick of RAM, the HP is now stable.

    I tested this HP with Vista x 64 and Win 7 x 64 separately
and fine tuned for high performance and he analyzed several
time at PCPitstop.com with 'OverDrive '.

This HP will be used for HD video Production and computer animation.

Here are some questions that I wonder about:

    I tried separately from Windows Vista x 64 and Windows 7 x 64.

It seems that I get an increase of about 4,000 MIPS (CPU) with Vista on Win 7.

Is this a significant difference or not?

Does anyone know how a difference of about 4,000 MIPS
will or will not affect motion graphics and
    HD video production applications?

For HD video production, it is best not to let the divided page file
in 2 or more fragments or is it more important to have too large
a page as your RAM file will allow?

BIOS of HP does not access the Overclocking.
Have ideas on how to work around this problem?
[Pegatron, card mother IPMTB-TK, Truckee (HP) - UL8E]

Can you tell me step by step how to configure RAID 0?

I have two Association Seagate 750 GB, SATA 3 G, hard disks 7 200 RPM.

They are physically installed and I have too much Intel Matrix Storage Manager.

I tried, but I'm not sure that everything came together properly

and I want to do it again or see a second time to be sure.

Could you please tell me step by step how to set up a RAID 0 on this HP
and then what I should see when I look at 'Computer' (the desktop icon)
and the total GB of storage should I find, I see still two hard drives
and then in Control Panel / administrative tools/computer management/storage how
    Disk management should review, etc.

You have any other suggestions to improve this
HP for HD video Production and computer animation?

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi Big Dave,

Thank you for responding and for having responded to my ad in the hardware section too.

Until recently, I never knew RAID any so I backed up my hard drive

to try the fastest mode of 0, just for the experience and I can say that 113 MB per second is quite impressive.

In addition, I was not sure of the steps so I winged it is best that I could.  Now, I want to assure you of the steps.

Thanks for the link to install VISTA RAID that's just what I was looking for.

I know RAID 0 is too risky and I am ready to return to RAID 1.

In the two discs hard Seagate firmware is up to date.

Thanks for the links compare NIVIDIA and ATI video cards

and links to replace the power supply and the video card.

Yes the GTX 260 seems very interesting, and I'll keep it in mind when finances permit.

  • I GB SSD RAID or get an external SSD?

So that the people of the community of Apple, I'm a video editor that has a lack of glorious space on my internal 1 TB SSD. I can't remove a big part, so I'm torn to choose whether I should RAID or GB external SSD? The two I know are probably very good for speed, which is perfect.

However, RAID could rekt me on if something goes wrong, (IE; 1 drive failure = all gone.) But nobody knows how good external SSD are?

    That's what I've been looking at: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Portable-External-Solid-State/dp/B00SGW5ZX6/ref= sr_1_1? s = computers & ie = UTF8 & qid = 1456417618 & sr = 1-1 & keywords = external ssd +

    Thank you very much, Appletons

External SSD is fast. Faster than USB 3 external drives.

But for your application, why not just invest in maybe a disc USB 3 to 2 to and unloading / archive files on your internal SSD flash drive to the external drive that you wouldn't have access to a large part?

  • Setting up RAID 1 on new want 700

I can't understand how to configure my new HP Envy 700 - 200z for RAID 1. I ordered it with 2 matching records and told me before that I ordered that this device supports RAID 1. PC running Windows 8.1.  Then I converted the readers to dynamic ND, but when I try to put readers to 'mirror' I find that option does not exist. I went into the BIOS and changed from readers (I think it was ACH or something close to that) RAID, but then the PC would not boot into Windows. So I changed the BIOS back, but don't know where to go from here.  I don't know that I must be missing something... You don't know it's important, but I have 16 GB of RAM, two corresponding 1 TB disks, AMD A-10-6700 3.7 GHz, operating system 64-bit Win 8.1. Thanks for any help!

    Hello

I finally understood how to set up RAID without backup-restore and difficult procedures:

    1. install your new disc from the computer if you have not already - at least 2 of the same size as the original one)

2 Disable User Account Control: go to control panel - Action Center - change settings (left menu) control user accounts and set the cursor down-> restart required

3 - Download Intel Raid storage technology to:

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23496/eng/SetupRST.exe & lang = eng & Dwnldid = 23496 & ProductID = 2101 & ProductFamily = Software + Products & ProductLine = Chipset + Software & ProductProduct = Intel % C2% AE + Rapid + Storage + Technology +(Intel%C2%AE+RST)

(This will not install when this OPTION is enabled)

Reboot - you will have technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology in the taskbar and "All Applications"

    4. in all Applications, locate 'Command Prompt', right-click and choose open with administrative privileges: Type "msconfig" - tab "Startup", check "Safe Boot" and click OK.»

5 - reboot - enter the BIOS with 'Escape' - change the Drive Options of AHCI RAID BIOS settings - save settings and start

6 - open "Intel Rapid Storage Technology": under status, you will be able to create a custom volume and to preserve the data on the original disk - drives synchronization process will take time.

    7. when 100%, enter again in msconfig, uncheck the "Safe Boot" and you can restart your pc

    8. you can put UAC in the original position.

    SUCCESS!
