Applying the 10.2.0.4 group patches of database with compatible version tables

Recently, we have applied the 10.2.0.4 group fixes database to a database where we had a few tables compatible version. Applying the patch Group took a little longer than expected and flipping through the newspaper, it took about 30 minutes to upgrade the Workspace Manager.

1) I know in the past that the Workspace Manager patches were separate from patches of the database. MetaLink NOTE: 341353.1 "Why the Workspace Manager version is different from the current version of the patches RDBMS group" seems to indicate that it is no longer the case,

>
From group fixes version V10.2.0.4, the Oracle Workspace Manager updates are integrated with the RDBMS patchsets credits.
>

But this statement seems to be a secondary element in a document clarifying a distinct behavior. Y at - it another document (Metalink or otherwise) who deals directly with this change?

(2) someone has a good feeling for the purposes of how long this and future patchsets should take when there are potentially large tables compatible version in the system? I'm hoping / assuming that it is not a linear relationship, because the tables in compatible version, we have at present are rather small. But I don't know if the upgrade time is basically a constant or if there is a dependency on the size of the tables compatible version, the number of tables compatible version, etc.

I fear that we may end up with very large tables compatible version which would require significant downtime when we apply future patchsets if we Workspace Manager of bugs. I hope / expect that this isn't the case, but I would check a second time thinking.

Justin

Hi Justin,

#1. I couldn't find another document which deals with this, but I can just be missing it. I see if there is something else and let you know if I find anything.

#2. There are some fixed and variable upgrade for Workspace Manager. Fixed potion RECOMPILE all packages/views, change the tables of metadata, etc. used directly by Workspace Manager. Another potion is made for each table enabled version. First of all, the view and maintained by Workspace Manager triggers are rebuilt. It is usually a fast operation, because it is not dependent on the size of the table. There is also the potential of migration of data for each of the rows in the table with version. If necessary, it would take much longer time, but this type of migration has not been required since version 9.2. If you are upgrading from a version newer than this, this part of the migration would be unnecessary.

Kind regards
Ben

  • How to apply the discoverer 10.1.2.3 patch # 5983622

    Hello
I have installed Oracle Business Intelligence 10.1.2.0.2 and 10.1.2.0.2 successfully Bi_Tools to learn the discoverer.
    I have a patch file (p5983622_10123_winnt).

I want to improve my client 10.1.2.48.18 discoverer and discoverer to 10.1.2.3 administration.
Its installation on windows and in my local system.

    I would appreciate your help.

    Hello
It is a major improvement and is a very stable version.

If you have not already applied 10.1.2.2 then upgrade to 10.1.2.3 is a major update and I recommend your DBA and / or your administrator to read the release notes carefully startng before the upgrade.

10.1.2.3 vital Note: after installing this patch make sure you also install the latest cumulative patch.

This is a major update which may also require an upgrade of your database infrastructure. If you do not use a 10.1.2.3 infrastructure upgrade is very easy and should take a skilled administrator, not more than an hour. The upgrade with an infrastructure is more complex and will take a few hours for the better part of a day, depending on the complexity and configuration of your application server installation.

After you have upgraded to 10.1.2.3, your version of discoverer will be 10.1.2.55.26

Whenever you sign an application, it gets a version number. This version number is incremented by one every time that you sign. The message indicates that you are trying to sign an application with a version that has already been signed. Try the following

ripple in 1) will build-->--> number of set parameters and set the number manually. Make sure a number that has not yet been signed. If you know the value to 100 or 300 according to the number of times that you have signed the application.

  • Using the merge statement on support-compatible version table time invalid

    Hello
just a simple question: is it possible to use a merge statement on a table of valid time support-compatible version?

For the next test, I get an ORA-01733.
(t1 is the version table compatible with time valid support t1 and t2 have the same structure: two fields: NAME and CODE (pk))

    merge into < table1 > t1
    with the help of < table2 > t2
    on (t1. CODE = t2. CODE)
when matched, THEN update set t1.NAME = t1.NAME
    where <>t1.NAME, t2.NAME;

    Thank you

    Hello

The sql merge operation does not currently work with versioned tables, with or without validtime. The optimizer of the merger results in insert/update statements on the underlying table for the _LT. As a result, instead of triggers that are created during the enableversioning are never triggered.

  • Question about a bug that should be fixed in the 10.2.0.4 group patch

    Hello

We have a 10.2.0.4 single instance of database on Sun Solaris SPARC (64-bit) and have the same symptoms as described in Bug 4643723 (error codes and the trace of the stack are the same). This bug should be fixed already in 10.2.0.4 patches group.

Someone of experience on how to proceed in this case - I mean, did a SR on metalink an obvious action?

Is it possible that fixes group has not been applied correctly, even if "opatch lsinventory" outputs that the "group of patches 2 3 (10.2.0.4) version 10g ' is installed and SYS. HISTORY of $ REGISTRY also contains an account of the upgrade. The upgrade of 10.2.0.1 10.2.0.4 was made 6 months ago and the data base has been continuously top and runing so far here.

    Thanks for all the answers

many bugs may have the same mistakes. Raise a SR.

Support Oracle ask a lsinventory opatch you and may request you check the versions of libraries, or reissue.

  • Applying the 7.0.1 Updater PS copy legitimate AMENDMENTS of Photoshop Version 7 for Win - No Go!

Yesterday I received from a seller on eBay 100% positive feedback, which seems to be a new copy of old stock perfectly legitimate Installer Windows 7 Photoshop on CD-ROM. spotlessly clean, with a hologram on case Adobe sticker, another sticker saying "Automatic Activation" and the serial number printed on a sticker on the back. I advanced and installed PS7 on my new laptop Hewlett Packard HP 250 with 8 GB RAM and 1 TB of storage Windows Edition running family 10 without any problem. It seems to be stable and works real nice and fast. I should point out that I've worked with a registered copy of PS5.5's "Shrink Wrap" for nearly 17 years on a Mac G4 with no problem at all.

So I downloaded and ran the Photoshop 7.0.1 updater and got a message saying that it 'impossible to find the Adobe Photoshop 7 folder in the Program Files x 86 folder.

Well, he found the file, but it wouldn't work--no go and no show. Another part of the message says "" If the installation program does not work, then uninstall Photoshop and reinstall it from the CD-ROM, and then run again PS 7.0.1 updater '. " Dutifully, I did all this and the same thing happens again anywhere.

I googled the problem and to my great astonishment found that it is a known problem. It turns out that this way back in 2002 Adobe got so fedup with PS7 be hacked that they incorporated to a data base of dubious serial numbers known in the PS7.0.1 update to thwart the pirates following the path of upgrading to scuttle the update process. Unfortunately, Adobe has also included a large number of legitimate serial numbers, and it may very well be that my copy of Photoshop 7 is one of them!

Could someone tell me what I need to do to get the update to work, and it is possible to save a copy of Photoshop now 14 years? If my copy of Photoshop is legitimate (and I see no reason to think otherwise) if I can get a new serial number?

First of all, Adobe no longer supports this really old version, so there is no way to get a new serial number

Given that Adobe can't stand this version, you're stuck with installation and updating

  • 11.1.2.2 installation - apply the Realease of Maintenance option grayed out

    Hello

We use Essbase Studio 11.1.2.1.00 with EAS, IST (all 11.1.2.1.00) and now I am trying to install just Essbase Studio 11.1.2.2 and do not touch other Hyperion products (which are: Shared Services, EAS and environmental impact assessment).

I downloaded and extracted the 7 parts for 11.1.2.2 and when I run the installation using installtool.cmd I had the window of setup of EMP and on the page where I should be able to select the option ' Version of Maintenance apply "is grayed out now leaving me with only the 'New Installation' option, which I won't do. All I want to do is upgrade Essbase studio 11.1.2.1.00 to 11.1.2.2 using the "Maintenance release apply.

Please help me on how to proceed.

You must apply the update on all products, also many products will be compatible with each other if they are at the same version.

    See you soon

  • Get the active Version Table triggers in Oracle

I am new to Oracle Workspace Manager. I have a trigger that fills my ID every time that I have to insert a record. I created the trigger before you enable versioning of my table. After that it was the case in my table, I can't find my trigger but have these triggers instead:

    OVM_DELETE_7 OVM_INSERT_7 OVM_UPDATE_7

What I wanted to do, is to examine triggers that I created on my paintings. Is it possible to do this without disable versioning on my table? I have too many tables with compatible version and it would be a problem off the version of each table just for this query.

    Hello

After a table has been enabled in the version, you can use the all_wm_tab_triggers, user_wm_tab_triggers views for querying the triggers that you have defined on the table.

    Kind regards

  • How to apply the patch to power supply in an environment of dataguard

I need to apply a patch of power supply in an environment of dataguard. I would like to know the sequence of steps I must follow.

Can someone please help me on this? DB version is 11.2.0.4 and I need to apply 11.2.0.4.3 PSU.

In order to apply the fix, you must first carefully read the "Readme" of the patch for instructions.

To give an overview of the sequence of steps to follow to apply a patch in environment dataguard, here it is:

1 reporter on the primary to the standby log shipping.

2 cancel the MRP on the standby database.

    3. apply the patch of power supply on the standby server. -See the Readme for instructions.

    4. ensure that the standby db is mounted and the earpiece is in place on the standby server.

    5. do not run any script correction on the standby database.

    6. apply the patch of power supply on the principal server.

    7. make sure that your primary database and the listener on the primary server is running.

8 turn on the primary to the standby log shipping.

9 start the MRP on the standby database.

    10. run the script of correction (catbundle.sql) on the primary database and monitor the progress of the eve of the resumption.

Hello guys, I have a bit of a situation with the terminology of patch. My manager came to me and told me that we needed to know which patches to apply, and after that, we had to go to metalink and know what patches are available for our systems.

so first of all off, I logged into a knot, went to $ORACLE_HOME/Opatch/and of the fact the next "lsinventory opatch" and obtained the following information.

Now my question is, how to, I use the following information to find out what other patches to apply?

    OPatch succeeded.

You run 11.2.0.2 the current level of patches (latest version) group is 11.2.0.4, which requires an 'out-of-place' upgrade - i.e. by installing 11.2.0.4 in another ORACLE_HOME and then by running catupgrd.

However, before you do this, you should be upgrading your Infrastructure of grid (to 11.2.0.4)

Since an upgrade of 11.2.0.2 11.2.0.4 is important, you should test your applications against 11.2.0.4 in a first test environment.

See notes for Support of Oracle

11.2.0.4 patch Set - availability and known issues (Doc ID 1562139.1)

    and

Changes important related to Patch Oracle database sets starting with 11.2.0.2 (Doc ID 1189783.1)

    CPUs are documented here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/alerts-086861.html

The last CPU, for the version October 2013, is the last CPU for 11.2.0.2 [note see Oracle Support "Patch Set update and Critical Patch Update October 2013 availability Document (Doc ID 1571391.1)"].  The subsequent processors will be available for 11.2.0.3 and 11.2.0.4

Some customers, to be safe, do not apply the latest patch "until it has stabilized.  They can choose to be a lower than the last patch level.  For example, to be on the 11.2.0.3 and the CPU of July 2013.  Your organization must have a Patch management policy that drives decisions on correction.

  • apply the patches of several products

    Hi gurus.

I have an SR open the framework of this call, but its been almost 2 weeks and several calls of "escaclation" and still nothing from them...

I must apply a number of patches in a range of products. Some of these products are 'shared', as in they need to be patched because they are dependencies on other installed products "full."

What is the best way to apply these in the shortest amount of time?

I'd like to just their bundle all in a merger and press the apply... but I'm afraid that this is going to work.

They I think about it is to run each corrective product group in separately... This will take a long time as I have about 8 different prodcuts to patch for.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    DA.

    11.5.10.2

    11.2.03

    ANY 5.5

Thanks for that - do happen to know if merge fails in the merge process tries to merge a patch that updates the announcement / DNF top? If so, then fine

-I don't want to just fall to half way through the application of patches.

So you should know at this time and before applying the patch merged, it will fail in the fusion process.

Also, if I use the merge, options usable with adpatch follows? options adpatch = nocompiledb, nomaintainmrc

Yes you can, a merged patch is like any other patch that can be applied using adpatch - AD Options from command line for the version R12 (Doc ID 1078973.1)

    Thank you
