  Well, I just need to understand how to make dynamic variable names. In this case, I have a loop, and inside the loop, I need to create a table for each iteration of the loop. Something like

  I have a form that determines how many phone numbers, a customer must edit by running a query on the database. The client may have anywhere from 0 to 3 telephone numbers. I guess I can just wrap a CFOUTPUT QUERY tag around my input field so that it will make a loop if there is more than 1. What I don't know is how to dynamically name input field in the CFOUTPUT tag for the UPDATE query I run after the user submits the form.

  For example, if the query is that the user has 2 phone numbers for the table, how can I control their name?

  I'll have a test question a form field for a null condition.  The names of the fields in the form are created dynamically as the creation of the form that is based on a query that returns a list of documents uploaded by a user. Each line contains the document ID, document title and name of the file. As I loop through the query I have create the name of form field for each line by attaching the document ID to a string. Here's the code that creates the shape:

  The request here is the same and the one who created the form. I loop through it, I create again the name of the field on the fly. The problem comes in the CFIF statement when I try to test to see if the field is null or not. The test will eventually test the variable containing the name of the field of form rather than the form field itself. How can I test the form field?

  First of all, I would like to point out that using hashmarks around the names of variables when not directly transmitted or not contained within channels can be harmful - it could actually slow things down.

  The best way to analyze the dynamic variable names is using media.

  I create a simple game for children.  On the first page, I added a "text input" field for his first name.  I called the firstname variable.

  When they move to the next page, I used a 'text dyanamic' field so I can call by name on this page.  This works.  However, when I test the game, on the first page, where the first name is entered, it shows the _level0.firstname instead of just a blank for them to enter their name.

  I know I've fixed this in the past and it was something simple, but I don't remember how to do it.  I would be grateful to anyone who helps!

  I'm trying to understand if it is possible to what I'm trying to do. I did an array of the names of SESSION variables that I want to have created, because I'll need to loop through the variable SESSION several times on this page. So I start by creating such an array of SESSION names, then I create a SESSION if it has not already been created. After I start a CFLOOP that will loop through all the SESSION names. Then I do a variable which is the current name of the SESSION. Then I try and set a value for the SESSION, it is, the value is simply getting the new name of the variable. The variable is the SESSION name as a string and another variable treatment. Is it possible to do this? Any idea is appreciated.

  Thanks for your post. Who did the tour and thanks for showing me how a structure works just as well. I'll use that instead. I also need a table. I have a list of names of the error and the messages I want to loop through. I like the structure could I plug the name of structures in the CFLOOP statement. Is this possible with a table to 2 dimensions as well? If so, could you show me how it's done? With the help of the list option is own co and neat, I would prefer to use it as much as possible.

  Unless it's a variable substitution at the server level, it would need to be fully qualified, for example if you have a 'Test' associated with Sample.Basic variable, you must:

  I got a code of work for Coldfusion 9, but my host only uses Coldfusion 8, and I'm not able to change it (or change host also).

  Now, I have a list of recipes, users can choose one or several of the recipes and can add it to the 'shopping list', grocery list is generated from the ingredients of the recipe. It begins as any application "your basket" there, however, following the various tutorials on the subject, that I'm still stuck in obtaining the 'ingredients' list, these tutorials allow to pass a variable and almost nothing else.

  Also this list may be printed or downloaded via file .txt (to put on my phone), so I need to keep the data.

  As explained above whatever I came with doesn't work under CF8, so far, I've modified my code to the following (note: I know that the "Evalute()" has not received a lot of love, so I tried to remove them, only because the ones I left are that no matter what else I have tried does not work):

  I get a"session of the item. "I_1 is not defined in an object of type Java coldfusion.runtime.VariableScope class" at the beginning of the last loop.

  I tried with evaluate() and it has a problem starting [val], which is not something I found pretty well documented so I guess there must be something relatively simple and direct that completely missed me.

  I am not put in any direction, so advice or constructive criticism is / are welcome.

  It seems to me like it the combination of the evaluate() in the CFLOOP could be led to SEE looking for a variable variables.session.i_1.  If this is the case, then it's a bug in CF, but you can get out help yourself by getting rid of the evaluate().  You don't have to evaluate() allows access to a variable name.

  Just use:
