Auto deploy hangs to the pxe boot

Has anyone seen this error before?  AutoDeploy hangs during the boot process.  It loads iPXE, retrieves the URL https://my.autodeploy.server:6501 / vmw/rbd/tramp.  It crashes and eventuall fails when trying to post to/vmw/rbd/host-register? bootmac = ${mac}

I restarted the server autodeploy. Run vmware vsphere auto deploy v5.1.0.4058 version 774808.  My next step is to upgrade auto deploy later.

Did you use stateless-cache option (defined in the profile of the host). This would have created the partition on your drive, remove it and try.

Another possibility could be, downloaded to autodeploy image would be corrupted.  Download the image once more with the name of profile of different image and set to host and try to start the stateless person once more.

  • Satellite A25-S207: how to force the PXE boot?

    Hello

    I have a Satellite A25-S207 and a big problem!

I want to start my laptop using PXE to install Suse Linux. I already did 3 months ago. It worked perfectly, but at that time, I did start command configuration using the utility on Windows. I had to install Linux PXE, because my CD drive does not work.

Now, to complete my tragic situation, my HD failure! As long as my CD-ROM does not work, the only way I can at least try to bring my data partition is trying to reformat the system partition, install Suse and copy the data in my office. At least until I can buy another CD-ROM unit.

But how do I set the BIOS to boot from PXE without the utility of Windows? I know that by pressing the C key while booting, the CD-ROM startup is enabled, but does anyone know a similar option to choose the PXE boot?

I appreciate really have no idea!

    Thank you!!

    Best regards!

Now I have I already did once, since my CD-ROM combo is 'dead '.

If you press N immediately after laptop starting so the unit should be able to boot from the local network.
Also in the Toshiba HWSetup under tab BootPriority PXE network boot protocol must be selected.

  • T610: Light customer T610 remains stuck in the PXE boot

I'm currently converting our customers light windows t610 meter above the zero smart software. I had zero problems with windows pe, but on the test batch of 30 thin clients that I installed and configured for smartzero, I'm having a problem. Whenever they are restarted, sometimes they will come upward to the PXE boot instead of booting from the hard disk and the only way to get them to boo back to the hard drive is physically draw power. Anyone has any ideas on this?

Don't know how you have configured the server, SCCM, but as far as I know, it might be possible to program the network boot as the only method of priming via SCCM.

  • Reference Dell place 11 Pro - problems with the PXE boot

Before buying a large number of these tablets (11 Pro 7130 venue), I have to ensure that they can be deployed from MS Configmgr (2012). So far, I have no chance for our test model to perform a PXE boot.

Following the instructions documented by Dell here:

I have a USB dongle to Ethernet Lenovo based on the AX88772B chipset... that is supported according to the documentation. However, try to perform a PXE boot, the screen hangs on the message:

After awhile, it starts up and then hard disk. BIOS version is A14.

  • the strength of VM to perform a pxe boot?

Is it possible to use the VI Toolkit for windows to force a virtual computer to the pxe boot at the start of the first (or next)?  If it was as simple as changing the boot sequence that would be ok.

    Thank you

In my view, using the option bios.bootDeviceClasses in the .vmx file is a little easier.

See also specify bootable for a virtual machine devices.

    You can run this script:

    $spec = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineConfigSpec
    $spec.extraConfig += New-Object VMware.Vim.OptionValue
    $spec.extraConfig[0].key = "bios.bootDeviceClasses"
    $spec.extraConfig[0].value = "allow:net"

    (get-view (Get-VM -Name "TestPC").ID).ReconfigVM_Task($spec)

It will not accept a boot from the network adapter, in other words a PXE boot.

Subsequently, you reset devices to boot with a similar script.

    $spec = New-Object VMware.Vim.VirtualMachineConfigSpec
    $spec.extraConfig += New-Object VMware.Vim.OptionValue
    $spec.extraConfig[0].key = "bios.bootDeviceClasses"
    $spec.extraConfig[0].value = "allow:hd,cd,fd"

    (get-view (Get-VM -Name "TestPC").ID).ReconfigVM_Task($spec)

Note1: abbreviations for the bios.bootDeviceClasses parameter are:

    • FD floopy drive

    • hard drive HD

    • CD cdrom drive

    • net network adapter

Note 2: this option does not change the boot order, it only changes the list of devices that the VM is allowed to boot from.

  • Satellite Pro NB10 forced bug BIOS to PXE boot

    Hello

I have the following problem with my NB10. (Bios 1.70)

No matter how to set the boot order in the BIOS it will always try first the PXE boot. As long as no cable-net is attached it's a minor problem as it jumps quickly PXE boot screen, but as soon as I plug a cable-net, it will get stuck to the PXE boot screen, until I press ESC. The only way to get rid of PXE boot is to disable the LAN entirely, which is not really a solution.

Bug: Not should always try before other options to boot from PXE boot with a higher priority.

Missing feature: should be possible to disable the PXE without disabling the LAN entirely. PXE boot can be a potential security risk, so it would be nice to turn it off when it is not necessary.

I filmed this issue and put it on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZsOc2ny3VQ

I replaced the HARD original with an SSD drive and installed Fedora 22 rather than Windows 8.1 - I don't know if any of these actions is the cause of tripping for this bug.

I replaced the HARD original with an SSD drive and installed Fedora 22 rather than Windows 8.1 - I don't know if any of these actions is the cause of tripping for this bug.

Of course, the BIOS does not recognize the boot (Linux) on the SSD drive partition and so the BIOS will automatically switch to the next (in the case of LAN) start device.

I wonder if the same question would appear using the real HARD disk and the image of Toshiba winning 8.1 pre-installed.
    Can perform some tests?

  • Workstation 9 - broken PXE boot - works with 8 workstations

VMware Workstation 9 newly released, the PXE boot is broken. It works on the same machine with VMware Workstation 8.

    Virtual machine specifications:

    -Windows 7 and Windows 7 x 64

    -Bridged networking

    -2 1 processor cores

I tried on different hardware, without Windows Firewall, but the PXE boot is broken when you use Workstation 9. Any thoughts as to why her behave this way?

We are trying to perform a PXE boot and it gets everything stuck by sending requests for the services of pre-launch on the remote server, however, it seems that the return packets are not received. On 8 workstations, these are received and PXE boot works correctly.

There is no AV installed in the host operating system.

Wow, okay, just confirmed this seems to be a MAJOR bug in the work station 9, concerning ONLY to run 2 hearts or 2 CPUs. I tested with my cell phone would support all configurations (this is a quad core with hyperthreading). This applies in my case to Novell Zenworks Imaging, but can affect more.

    Results
    Config PXE
    1 processor, 1 core Success
1 CPU, Core 2 In case of failure
    1 CPU Core 3 Success
    1 CPU, Core 4 Success
    1 CPU, Core 6 Success
    1 CPU, Core 8 Success
2 CPU, 1 core In case of failure
    2 CPU, Core 2 Success
    2 CPU, Core 3 Success
    2 CPU, Core 4 Success
    4 CPU, 1 core Success
    4 CPU, Core 2 Success
    8 CPU, 1 core Success

Now here it gets crazy. My issue seems to be with the v11.2.0.0 of the Agent Novell PXE (Preboot Execution). It says "Sending queries to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" then he received never actually do anything to continue the boot process, but ANY other config except 2 CPU or 2 cores CPU works fine.

  • HP Pavilion 23: computer hangs during the boot process

Computer updates been made 2 days ago and has frozen black screen. Now does not start at the top. Starts the process and then freezes. He did start once yesterday and was going well for a few hours, then got a message saying computer had a problem.

    Error message:

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (atikmdag.sys)

Now back to not start upward again, hangs with the HP logo on the screen.

    Hi there @ldgie25.

That the Forums are with you!  I understand that, after a few updates, your computer does not start correctly and freezes on the HP logo.   I'm happy to help you with this.

Since it was started once, but then had a blue error screen, I suggest using the computers HP - use Microsoft System Restore (Windows, 10, 8).   Follow the instructions in the section «restore your computer when Windows is unable to boot normally»  See if it will start normally after the restoration. If yes then you probably want to prevent the offending update to install again.

Please see the following for how to do this:

How to temporarily prevent an update for driver reinstallation of Windows 10 - support.microsoft.com

How to uninstall and updates to block and drivers on Windows 10 - howtogeek.com

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Satellite C50 - B with Win 8.1 - PXE error is displayed using the UEFI boot mode

I have a laptop of C50 - b under Win 8.1 and recently needed to boot from a USB stick so finally found the way to do it (missing the start of the first bios menu) and managed to do.

My problem is same when I returned in the uefi and set the boot order local drive, cd, network, he asks every time that I want to start PXE IP4, IP6 then IP4 and IP6 again. I also disabled secure boot

I think that a value is missing, when I went to the BIOS and return to the start of IEFU option, but where is the laptop get the setting to tell him to network/PXE boot when the bottom of the list and the wake we LAN is disabled.

Exactly, secure boot must be enabled in order to boot from the internal HARD disk where the 8.1 for Windows has been installed.

If you want to boot from external sources (IE USB flash memory stick) you will need to disable secure boot.

  • The A40 to PXE boot

    Hello

We use a multitude of Toshiba laptops in our org, of SP6000 to M3. We have a problem in that we do our old A40 to start the LAN, because we need them via Zenworks image at midnight before a workout.

We have been searching the net for the last three days, tried all possible options in the BIOS and the operating system to get the PXE option to activate (IE knitting) and we have not yet moved an inch trying to solve this problem.

We notice that on all other laptops that it is SP6000, 6100, M2 or M3, when enabled, even if the computers are turned off, also long that the network cable is plugged in, the link led remains lit. With the A40, they are completely "dead" when turned off. We have tried a multitude of versions of BIOS of 1.30 to 1.50, but nothing seems to be able to activate the feature.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Manish

    Hello

Have you seen in the BIOS everything as NIC option?
If no yes I n t think that the A40 supports PXE. But I m not 100% sure that in my opinion.
If anyone has any ideas, please report it.

    Good bye

  • Deploy on hangs to the generator warehouse after successful validations (ora-01017)

    Hello

I have a problem with deployment maps on the warehouse construction.

I know what is the cause, but I can't find out how can I solve this problem.

Ive has a database of registered as 'target' (bd even where is repository OWB), where I want to deploy the mappings, this database has been registered with and the user (UNDERLINED).

Everything works fine until the HIGHLIGHTED user password has been changed. Know when I'm trying to make the OWB deployment ask me for the duration of repository (owbrt_user) authentication, then it sucessfully validate mapping, but when he tries to deploy (build package) it fails with ORA-01017 - name of user and password invalid.
It is because somewhere in the repository of owb, the UNDERLINED user password remains former. I try to put the UNDERLINED such as password, and after it works.

So my question is how to change the password stored on OWB for the HIGHLIGHTED target database user. I try to do it with OWB customer, but I don't see this option in any place.

My mail is: [email protected] (if you need some more detail to help me).

    Thanks in advance,
    Kind regards

    Hi Pedro,

You will need to use the Manager of deployment 10.1.0.4 to re - register the location as Ragnar has described. The Deployment Manager has been renamed Control Center Manager in a future release.

  • vSphere 5 Auto deploy

    Hi people,

I try to get Auto deploy working, but a few problems. I have DHCP enabled for the mgmt VLAN to which the ESXi host is connected. We use InfoBlox here and the bootfilename is set to undionly.kpxe.vmw - cable and next server is set to the IP address of the TFTP server. I run Auto deploy and the TFTP on the same VM. When I start a host and the attempt to PXE boot, I get "PXE - E51: no DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received." This host has already ESXi installed on it. When it is the DCUI, I can configure the DHCP management network and almost immediately a DHCP IP address is provided within the specified scope.

My question is, someone out there has managed this work by the following:

    -Equipment of IBM xSeries

    -DHCP InfoBlox

-SolarWinds TFTP (running on a virtual machine, 2008 R2)

-Auto Deploy (installed on a virtual machine, even though the Protocol TFTP, 2008 R2)

Let me know if yes or if you can provide guidance.

    Thank you!

Just to understand. Are rising the host connected to access ports or ports trunk/tag management (i.e. the VLAN tagging on the ESXi host)?

  • Portege Z30-C-10N is unable to boot from PXE - boot MSC mode required

    Hello

I received a trial Z30 - C - 10N Toshiba to test our image deployment with. We use SCCM via PXE boot to deploy our images but unfortunately the laptop cannot boot from PXE, even after trying different methods of boot (secure boot is disabled). After doing some research on Google, many people say that the CSM boot mode is necessary, but it is not available in the current BIOS on the Z30 - C.

So I just wonder is there plans to release a BIOS update soon with added support boot CSM?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Russ

I believe THAT CSM is in the latest version of the BIOS.
Updated the BIOS and see how it goes.

  • Lenovo M93p SCCM PXE boot

Is there a driver package to a bootable winpe for SCCM image? We use the M93P 10AB

I have problems with USB fall when I can get it to boot winpe. I only really need the 64-bit drivers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    @arrietty

You can try this driver, it solved the problem I've had with pxe boot on this model

    https://drive.Google.com/file/d/0B6iKWIN8V5CVdWE3N1hsMmVydHM/edit?USP=sharing

We easily forget that you do not have the driver for the version of Windows that you will deploy, but you must use the driver for the version of Windows that WinPE is based on, in this case, it's Windows 8/2012. In SCCM 2012 (not R2) is WinPE (Windows 8/2012) 4.0 and 5.0 of WinPE in R2 (R2 of Windows 8.1/2012)

  • PXE boot a switch aspire 10

Hi in my school district im internment because we got a shipment of 450 Aspire switch 10, how you boot pxe on them, we can't figure out how?

I looked everywere for more and not luck

I used an AX88772 adapter usb to ethernet that works perfectly.  The Switch 10 is that it does not start the Windows deployment server unless you set the network boot in the boot order to #1.  This is different from the W510 ACER as you hit F12 for network boot.  I hope this helps.
