  In step 2, the context of the updated file, we will create the new context with the new hostname file... Here I have doubt, how come new context file will be created with the new host name, since it has not changed hostname at the level of the bone at this stage or before this step? AutoConfig will be CNET, because the Hostname of the Machine is different, because we change the hostname in the last step before

  In step 2, you run "perl adclonectx.pl" command. This script is used to clone your context file (i.e. generate a new), and it will ask you to enter the new host name. Once completed, you will have two files of context in the directory $APPL_TOP/admin:

  (1) _ .xml
  (2) _ .xml

  When you run the AutoConfig (step 4), you must provide the context new file generated (i.e. _.xml), and the model topology net services (which is clean, because we have already served there) will be filled with the new host name.

  why we cannot do the procedure below...

  (a) to enter the net service topology model applications pane
  (b) change the hostname at the os level
  (c) restart the machine.
  (d) update the context file with the new host name or create the new context file
  e run the automatic configuration
  (f) to start the services

  Please correct me if I'm wrong...

  but I found a lot of weird stuff inside the target context_file (/ p01/oracle/PRODHR/inst/apps/PRODHR_prohcms1/appl/admin/PRODHR_prohcms1.xml) is generated by this step No 5.

  The strange thing is a lot of setting e.g. JDK_TOP pointing to /tmp//tech_st/10.1.3/jdk and not /p01/oracle/PRODHR/apps/tech_st/10.1.3/jdk and many other parameters. Yes, before do not step No 6, I edited the file context targeted and correct first all the oddity as / tmp.

  I am applying the 12.2.3 AD and RUPs T2K atop a VISION of 12.2.2 instance according to 1586217.1. Since I'm already 12.2.2 I am following 'Path-B '. Application of 17023760 and 17021789 passed, but after the sourcing of the patch editing environment (although still in the phase to apply), instantiate the config of the HTTP files server fails:

  Do you have anything running (or current)? If Yes and you want to start a new session ADOPTION so please publish "adoption phase = abandonment."

  12.2.3 should not apply using /hotpatch mode and you must follow the steps described in (Oracle E-Business Suite Release Readme (Doc ID 1586214.1) 12.2.3).

  I recentluy created a top custom and added the entry in the context file.

  However the performance of the automatic configuration service changes made to the file are returned back.

  Have you checked the note Autoconfig returns to the old file context values (Doc ID 357922.1), but it does not solve the issue.

  I tried add entry custom front end, but it shows all add front end option.

  I am getting error in autoconfig with jtfictx.sh.  I am cloning PROD to QA. Usually, I use RMAN duplicate to clone the database and then the System Application files are copied. I did this method repeatedly (for example 25 times).

  This iteration after the recovery of the database, I have run the autoconfig RDBMS that completed successfully. So I ran the autoconfig on the simultaneous server manager first and received the error below. There is no change to my usual No.

  I usually save the autoconfig / context file before the refreshment of the EBS files from PROD. The previous was refreshed 2 months ago and he succeeded. There is no change on the ORACLE_HOME such database shown in the error.

  The culprit for the number is the CTXSTS. DEFAULT_LEXER. YES attribute INDEX_THEMES was made.

  Solution:

  (1) connect to the ctxsys database and run exec ctx_ddl.set_attribute ('DEFAULT_LEXER', 'INDEX_THEMES', 'no');

  (2) now remove and re-create the index as follows:

  $ cd $JTF_TOP/115/patch/sql /.

  $ sqlplus apps/apps @jtfiimt.sql JTF JTF NULL NULL

  Note: The 'jtfiaibu.sql' script is used to remove and recreate the "JTF_AMV_ITEMS_URL_CTX Intermedia text index."

  (1) do we need level apps stop when running autoconfig on dbtier (imagine I ran fnd_conc_clone.setup_clean and now I have to run on dbtier autoconfig).
  (2) can we run on appstier autoconfig services are on the rise. As directed by the Lord of oracle apps snoussi hussein we can... .but we still need bounce level apps so that the changes take effect.

  You can run it so that the application will run (not on Windows). However, you always have to bounce services after running AutoConfig.

  Yes, but you must always bouce application services after running AutoConfig. So you either stop application services, run AutoConfig, start application services OR you run AutoConfig and bounce then the application services. In production, it is recommended that you go with the first approach.

  Y at - it a reason why Autoconfig (or any other script - for ex - adpreclone.pl) on the layer DB would crush the init.ora?
  
  Also supports on the layer of DB spfiles autoconfig?
  
  We will have instances about autoconfig crushing the int.ora, play with the listener.ora resulting in a file files corrupt listener.ora.
