  • Black screen with mouse pointer count on reboot after installing SP3

I tried to install Service Pack 3 on a PC running XP Home Edition (new installation).

Although Microsoft Update has finished installing SP3 and the computer reboots, I get the XP installation screen base with the message "Please wait...". ", which disappears after a few seconds, leaving me with a black screen with only the mouse pointer.

The mouse pointer moves then the PC broke down, well that no matter how long I leave nothing happens.

I tried to uninstall SP3 and do it again (when I Uninstall SP3, Windows starts very well) and also uninstall SP3 as well as my Antivirus and try the installation again. But whenever I'm just left whit black screen.

Try to update with the custom option.  I had problems like this before.  Usually you are missing a driver or something of this kind that makes you hang.  To update while the custom option, with the exception of SP3.  Reboot several times the installation of updates with the "Custom" option  Once all updates have been installed except SP3, you can try SP3 and see what happens.  This usually takes care of it when I have the same problem. anesvet,
I'm going to sound like I'm repeating myself tonight... (see previous 4 posts...)  but try this:

When you start start pressing F8 until you get the Windows startup options.  Then try "Last known good configuration" see if that helps.  If this does not work, try to F * then try to go to Safe Mode.  If those who do not help, I would start with your XP CD to recovery mode and run "chkdsk/r" then "sfc/scannow".  QQ learn manage!

  • Vista will not start! Black screen, no mouse, no cursor pointer. Startup Repair cannot repair. Details say 'wrong pass '. What is the correct syntax for pkgmgr to uninstall?

Vista will not start!  Black screen, no mouse, no cursor pointer.  Startup Repair cannot repair.  Details say 'wrong pass '.  It looks like all the files are well intact on the disk.

What is the correct for pkgmgr syntax when you try to uninstall an update by using a command prompt when starting Vista OS disk?  I entered the following in the "x:\Sources >" prompt:

    start /w pkgmgr/o: "C:\; /Up:Package_1_for_KB2840149~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~6.0.1.0 C:\Windows.

When I run this command it ends quickly and when I run 'echo %errorlevel%' I get '5', which seems to mean 'access denied'.  How am I supposed to have access to remove the patch?  Am I missing something?  Perhaps a switch in the syntax to access?  Help, please.  Thank you.

I tried both options that you recommended.  As initially stated, no boot option would produce something other than the black screen.  I tried to boot from a drive and restoring the system running, but she didn't, and when I tried to do it again the recovery console could not find restore points. ?.

An update, the computer is now fixed.  Oddly enough, I ran recovery of starting a drive at least 8 times and each time I checked the details and he said: he ran chkdsk without error and return to the same cause "a patch is preventing windows to start.  I even ran chkdsk c: /f from a prompt command from the recovery disk and it found no errors.  That's when I posted the question above after trying to remove the patch in the manner described above.  After some time and frustration, I decided to run chkdsk /r c:.  It took awhile, but it found 1 bad sector, moved the data, the bad sector tag and finished.  Once I restarted from that, everything came and went very well.

So, the original question remains, what was missing in the command to run pkgmgr/high: successfully.  And the new question exists as to why start Recovery claims run chkdsk if it does not, or he turns the version/f not the version/r the same as I did manually?  It would be good to know for the future.  Thank you!

original title; Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 - black screen when viewing of DTV, can hear the program, but no image.

When I set up my Windows XP Media Center Edition PC to view DTV, I used the Setup etc., XP scanned and found all the available DTT channels. I thought as much, worked for BBC1, BBC2, worked, then I went to view ITV1 and other channels, could hear the noise perfectly, but there is no picture, just a black background. He used to work because I previously installed the computer. However, wouldn't be a difference that the TV signal will of the antenna, in a block of TNT, and then in the computer, there always used to work. I have that, it is not a signal problem because I could watch the TNT cable SCART on the computer and the image and the sound is fine just using the freeview box. It seems to be the Media Center. Please can someone help me? Thank you

Apparently, this was caused by an outdated ATI graphics card driver. I recommend upgrading your graphics card driver to resolve this issue. Should work fine then

Hello. I use a laptop Touch B50-30 Energy Star. It came with Windows 8.1. Recently, it is automatically promoted to the 10 Windows (which I really like). Unfortunately, since the upgrade, when I press the power button / the Lenovo logo appears on the screen, and then everything goes black and stays like that until I turn the power and then restart with the power again button.

Does anyone else have this problem or if you did, how solve you this problem?

  • Black screen and a text is vague on the Satellite L series

    Hello

I searched through all the post in this section and I am also one of the many users who bought a Toshiba laptop computer that dosent work.
It turns on and then gives a black screen with text to disk error very small text, almost not visible at all.

I don't know what to do, have tried all these things normal, but to no avail.
Annoyingly, I see a lot of people with the same problem that post discussions here.
Nobody seemed to be able to view a solution, the only suggestion is to take it to a maintenance shop.

Someone at - there a solution or is it just bad quality products in general?

    astapasta.

    Hello buddy

Be a little realistic. The description of your problem is so bad that I do not understand your problem.
You didn't write what model of laptop you have, you didn't write what you did with your laptop, you didn t write what text error is displayed. With short words: none of the useful information in your ad.

As I see you have found only two people with similar problem although no one knows exactly what is your problem.

So if you want to discuss here on this issue be so kind and explain exactly what is happening with your laptop. Another solution is to visit the nearest service. It is easier to understand the problem if the laptop is placed in front of you.
