Back to OS 32-bit to 64-bit OS

I'm not a geek! Internet exploerer kept stop due to the operating system error. I was using a 32 bit OS. Without knowing it, I switched to 64 bit OS and can now connect on the Internet exploer but can't see video, etc... I don't know how I did it, but I would like to return the 32 bit OS or have video online to open on current 64-bit OS. How? Thank you and once again, I am nearly illiterate in it, it was all an accident

You don't need to go back to 32-bit Windows. Just use the 32 Bit IE. A 64-bit Windows includes both versions. The 32 Bit IE can be found here:

C:\Program Files (x 86) \Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

You can not watch videos with the 64 bit IE because not all plugins are 64-bit capable.

    Hello

If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64 bit version of Windows Vista, or vice versa, you will need to back up your files, then select custom during installation of Windows Vista. Next, you need to restore your files and reinstall your programs

  • BACK on a 64 bit system?

It is not - strictly - a windows question... However... I'm in the process of upgrading to a laptop 64 bit.

My question is... A DOS system (MS-DOS, PC DOS Dr DOS, Caldera BACK, etc.) can be installed on a laptop with a 64 bit processor?

As the 64-bit processors are supposed to be backwards compatible with 32-bit architecture, this should be possible, but I have not found the supporting statements.

If anyone has a thought on this, it would be greatly appreciated. However, remember that the nature of the question is can/how and NOT why - I'm not looking for alternative solutions, only a simple Yes or no.

    Respectfuly,

    Iain M. Guthrie

In general, the answer is Yes - you can start a DOS system on 64-bit hardware. However, as with all things, the devil is in the details.  The different architectures of BACK are very simple creatures and do not support a lot of expansion capability - for example, device drivers.  Yes, there are some you can load (mouse or memory for example) but if your hard disk controller is not considered to be a simple BACK IDE controller, then it not be recognized and will not work.

Also please keep in mind that you have oversimplified somewhat, as well as the various flavours of BACK 16-bit architecture and not 32-bit architecture.  I see the possibility that any platform specific 64 - bit does not work with 16-bit code well or at all.

  • running a 16-bit back between two 32-bit win7 computer program - DBFTNTX back error 2

I use two computers win7 32 bit, one as a server and the other as the client. Hello

Check if the following makes a difference.

Do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar, and select playback devices.  Right click 'Speakers and headphones' (or speakers/HP), and then select Properties.  Select the Advanced tab, and then remove the check box "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device."  Click apply and then click Ok to save this change.

    Restart the laptop.

  • Win7 64 bit drivers Satellite U300?

Have a U300 that was installed with Win7 64-bit, could someone provide me with information about 64-bit audio drivers and other drivers for Win7 64 bit?, or what I need to get down to 32 bit Win7?

    Hello

No, you don't need to go back to the 32-bit system n.
The drivers can be researched at your own hand.

For example the tool as VAP (value added package), utility support of flash memory card are not related to a specific model laptop and can be downloaded from other series of laptop.
LAN driver, touchpad and similar pilot can be also downloaded from the driver page.

In addition, here you can find the portal WiFi and BT which contains the drivers:

  • Portege M400: Where to find Windows Vista 64-bit

    Hello!

I've owned a Portege M400 for a period of 3-4 months now, and I wonder if there is even one person out there who managed to get this laptop computer working under vista 64-bit.

I finally got bluetooth drivers to work, after the arrival of drivers available. But the following list does not work or I have not found drivers that work.

    -The buttons below the LCD
-Accelometer (and all the utilities like screen rotation or to do something about tilting machine)
HARD disk utility - protection (I installed Vista drivers, but they totally destroyed the machine and I had to restore system did not start after the installation of windows)
    -Fingerprint reader

And I could live if I couldn't get buttons and accelometer to work, but still it would be great that the computer laptop everything would work.

I'm starting to lose hope and I am already planning to install pirate Vista 32 bit in this laptop... Because it seems that it was a mistake to buy 64-bit ultimate. Some drivers Toshibas indicates they are pilots 'vista', but they do not yet work with the 64-bit version, which has little frustrating...

In any case if someone could help me I would appreciate it a lot! Because I'm getting slowly frustrated with this problem with vista 64-bit.

    Thanks in advance

I really understand you, but there is nothing to see! Toshiba Vista 64-bit drivers are not available on the Toshiba page. Nothing!

Of course, you can use a Vista 64 bit on laptops, but you will get not all 64-bit drivers. Maybe more later but not at this time!

So either you will switch back to Vista 32 bit or you need to use this notebook without 64-bit drivers. But this is not recommended

  • Try to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit

After upgrading to Vista Home 32 bit to Windows 7 Home 64 Bit for a test with my software:

It will be possible to downgrade to Windows 7 32 Bit or to install with this updated DVD?

Or will I have to get back to Vista 32 Bit and upgrade to Win 7 32 bit?

    Thanks for the tips

    Hello

To be honest I n don't know what you mean exactly.

You can only change Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 32 bit. An upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit OS is not possible! Therefore, you must make a clean and new installation.

If you want to go back to Vista, you must use the Toshiba Recovery disk or disk Microsoft Vista.

  • How to move to Windows 7 64 bit?

When I started my laptop I chose 64-bit, but when it came to the big red warning I clicked Cancel. The next time I start the laptop it asks for my username and password so I did that and then I checked and now is 32-bit.

Is there a way to change to 64-bit, and if I do I lose anything?

    Hi mate,

I m a bit confused to now what laptop you have exactly?
And what red warning you mean?

Normally, some Toshiba laptops come with 64 bit and 32 bit OS. This means that if you reinstall Windows using the Toshiba Recovery disk, you can get back to the 64 bit OS.

  • Satellite L500-1DT: recovery of Force to return 64-bit Win 7 32-bit

    Hello

I've created with my l500-1dt. I used the win 7 32-bit supplied shop toshiba recovery disk, but I want to get back up to 64-bit (installed on the laptop).

I created 2 dvds with the toshiba recovery media creator but as my current 32-bit version of Windows 7 is not actually broken, it doesn't seem to start any recovery process when I put the disc and restart.

I tried taking 0 to start HARD drive recovery too and seem to have the same problem.

Is anyway to force the departure of recovery to the top and install windows 7 64 bit?

    Thank you

    Hello

I guess that the Win 7 was already preinstalled on your laptop.
If the HARD drive recovery option must always be available on the HARD disk is it true?
I guess you didn't change anything on the HARD drive and in this case, you can try to recover the laptop with HARD drive recovery option.

In this case you need to press F8, then you should obtain advanced startup menu.
Here you choose fix my computer.
New window will appear, and here you have to choose HARD drive recovery!

  • Creation of recovery Win 7 64 bit for Satellite L500-19 x disc?

    My new Satellite L500 - 19 X came pre-installed with Win 7-64 bit version.
Also includes a "product recovery Win 7 32 bit" disc

Inside of the package a brochure said:

"If you plan to use 64-bit at a later stage, please create a _recovery medium_ before installing Windows 7 32 bit"

He then warns me to create a "medium recovery 64-bit... you are ordering that 64-bit recovery media is not free."

The manual goes long on "_System Recovery Options" as stated in the manual I did a "Windows 7 64 bit repair disc" can I say that I don't have or can't have a real Win 7 64 bit disc?

The brochure says "a backup copy (file Win 7 64-bit) is stored on the hard drive as a _recovery image_" so is this the real Win 7 64 bit full disk that I'm after, and if so how do I get it?

Toshiba documentation is not clear, and I think rather contradicts itself?

I'm confused! Someone at - he understands what's going on?

    Hello

If I understand correctly, you have received the laptop pre-installed with Win 7 64 bit OS.
But you didn t get the drive recovery Win 7 64 bit, but you have a Win 7 32 bit recovery disc. Is this good?

Matt good the case is that the use of the recovery disk will format the entire HARD drive and will erase everything from the HARD drive. This means that you will lose the Win 7 64 bit OS preinstalled.
So if you would not create the recovery disk Win 7 64 bit before using the Win 7 32 bit recovery disc, then you will not be able to go back to the 64-bit version.

Therefore, create the Win 7 64 bit recovery disc at the beginning. So you are safe and can install Win 32-bit and 64-bit when you want.

  • Cannot install windows 8 on Pavilion Elite M9600T (KX745AV-ABA) with Vista 64 BIT

I can't install windows 8 on my computer. I contacted Microsoft and he has worked for three hours and said I had a problem of graphics card driver. I use a Nvidia GeForce 9800GT, which came with the computer.  When I try to upgrade to the latest driver (306.97) located on the Microsoft Update site and also on the Nvidia site, the screen says no signal and falls asleep. I worked with a rep from Nvidia for a week now and he says this isn't their driver that is causing the problem and I have to contact HP. I don't know what else to do. I deleted the working driver Nvidia (SP41066) also and tried to install windows 8 and received the same message "Windows installation was not successful" and me back to Vista 64-bit. I don't know what else to do. Can someone please, or am I just out of luck. Thank you

    Gene

I changed the graphics card to a GeForce GT 630 and that solved the problem. Thanks for your help

  • 32 or 64 bit systems

I bought a 64 bit system to Vista not knowing that it would be incompatible with the 32-bit hardware. What can I do to use this device with this system, or I'm just out of luck because of my lack of knowledge before buying?

    Hello

Unfortuantely, the 64 bit OS will not install on a 32-bit computer based.

I'd come back your Vista 64 bit if possible and get a 32-bit version... better yet, return it and get 32 bit Windows 7, because it runs faster on the old system... in my experience.

The last option would be to get a 64-bit system, but that would probably come with an OS anyway.

    I hope this helps
