    Hello

On Toshiba laptops, where the UEFI BIOS is available, it of necessary to disable secure boot and change the boot to the CSM mode in order to boot from external sources and install systems other than Win 8 or 8.1 Win

Of the workarounds in the internet described the installation of Windows 7 in UEFI mode but I doubt that this will be possible on Toshiba laptops because the BIOS is different and modified for each series of laptop.

  • Anyone got the DVD to the UEFI boot?

I used the normal Wizard to download and allowed him to install supports for the upgrade of Windows 8.  The flash drive seems to work fine and boots by using UEFI.  The DVD does not work...!

Anyone find this is the case?  Surely Microsoft would not put in place the DVD option to not allow to boot in a UEFI configuration...

I looked quickly the directory structure and it seems to be OK, so I have to assume that there is something on the way is built the .iso image file, if it is a problem of Microsoft.

Indeed, ISO created by the Wizard Windows 8 upgrade does not boot UEFI support. The files in the ISO are beautiful (file \efi), but the boot images are broken. To start in UEFI since CD/DVD mode, it must be a special boot image that allows to start the EFI boot in \efi\boot. ISO created by the wizard upgrade of Windows 8 has only the boot image standard for the normal BIOS boot mode, while the preview of Windows 8 ISO has two boot images, BIOS and UEFI mode.

The solution is to build a new ISO file, with two boot images. Boot images are available in the ISO file system. I have sucessfully built ISO with the Microsoft tool "oscdimg. To obtain the tool, or download the evaluation of Windows and the Deployment Kit (ADK) from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30652 or download just the tool of http://blog.paulbetts.org/index.php/2011/09/17/converting-a-win8-install-directory-to-an-iso/
In addition, mount the ISO file with a virtual DVD drive, or insert the DVD into a real DVD player. In the following example, it is assumed that the Windows 8 DVD is in drive g:
Now, create the ISO fixed (including the UEFI boot image) with the command:
    Oscdimg.exe-o-u2-udfver102-bootdata:2#p0,e,bg:\boot\etfsboot.com#pEF,e,bg:\efi\microsoft\boot\efisys.bin g:\ d:\path\to\new\win8pro-uefi.iso m
Burn the new ISO on a DVD file. I used InfraRecorder and boot from DVD in BIOS and UEFI mode worked well. Note: I have not tested a whole plant, but only until the first dialog box installation program.
    Have fun

  • Satellite C50 - B with Win 8.1 - PXE error is displayed using the UEFI boot mode

I have a laptop of C50 - b under Win 8.1 and recently needed to boot from a USB stick so finally found the way to do it (missing the start of the first bios menu) and managed to do.

My problem is same when I returned in the uefi and set the boot order local drive, cd, network, he asks every time that I want to start PXE IP4, IP6 then IP4 and IP6 again. I also disabled secure boot

I think that a value is missing, when I went to the BIOS and return to the start of IEFU option, but where is the laptop get the setting to tell him to network/PXE boot when the bottom of the list and the wake we LAN is disabled.

Exactly, secure boot must be enabled in order to boot from the internal HARD disk where the 8.1 for Windows has been installed.

If you want to boot from external sources (IE USB flash memory stick) you will need to disable secure boot.

  • HDD not found/detected when using the UEFI Boot

I have a HP Sleekbook 15-b035tx, which came with a windows 8 OS already installed. a few reasons, I tried to quarterback to windows 7. After several unsuccessful attempts, I finally managed to install windows 7 by changing my boot for a legacy starting sequence.
later due to lack of drivers for win 7, I installed, instead upgraded to win 8 running on existing startup (using the MBR if im not wrong). now, I want to install a new copy of victory 8 with UEFI, but the problem is when I change my boot sequence disable startup inherited, then installing win 8, I do not see my HARD drive ... im using a flash drive to install win 8 which is already in the UEFI (I used diskpart to do this).
also, when I use legacy boot and try installing windows, then the HARD drive is displayed and when I format the HARD drive and create new partitions, he created 3 partitions (System, MSR), reserved and the fourth for the OS. I tried to install the windows like this, but after installation, when I change the boot sequence in the UEFI even once, it does not start

now I want to install windows in the UEFI... and I really need help with this please ... I hope I explained the scenario... If someone wants to ask anything, please don't ... as I really need this out... and also, I would like to ask that how can I check if my HARD drive has been changed from MBR of GTP

    Hello:

I can't find the specifications of product for your model - only these introduce yourself.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/pfinder?cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&tool=&query=15-b035

They all have Intel hardware with an nVidia GT 630M graphics card.

If yours has the same characteristics, you can install W7 64 bit there without too much difficulty.

I know where all the drivers.

If you do not see the HARD drive normally you must load the sata drivers.

See if it works in uefi mode...

Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed - 32 or 64 bit depending on the case).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&keyword=Intel+RAPI...

Extract the files on a usb flash drive.

With the flash drive and the installation of W8 media plugged into the machine, boot from the installation of W8 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and I hope that the W8 should install.

If this does not work, and no one else can help out you, let me know if you want to install W7 x 64 on and I'll guide you installed the drivers you need.

Hello. I bought a laptop Acer Aspire with Linux preinstalled E5-511. I want to install windows 8.1.

I created with Rufus TPG bootable USB flash with win8.1 image. UEFI mode the laptop does not recognize the USB, I have turned off secure boot, put the USB - HDD on the top of the boot priority but in vain.

In legacy BIOS mode, I can boot and install windows, but the touchpad mouse does not work, only the USB mouse functions.

How can I add UEFI boot USB flash?

    Thank you in advance.

You did right, but sometimes the USB interfaces are not recognized by the system, I had some problems with a pair of USB pen which has not worked as a boot device, but another one worked smoothly.

don't forget to have your HDD or USB pen in FAT32.

  • Satellite A300D-15B PSAKCE - cannot install the audio driver for Win XP 64 bit

    Hi all

This is my first post here after hidden during the last week or so, my hope is that somewhere it helps and hope so!

I have a wonderful Toshiba A300D-15B PSAKCE with RAM 4 GB/O, but I suffer from some problems RESEARCH Holy function cannot resolve. I use this laptop as a box of development for uni/work unfortunately...

After a complete nightmare and Vista32, Vista64, I decided to go back to windows XP32, however this custom install, continues to claim a failure of a CRC file after (and Yes, that's with SATA in IDE mode and a disc of XPSP2)

I decided that I really DON'T want to goback to Vista, so installed Windows XP64. Now the first installation is very easy, I have the basic configuration, the chipset, graphic, network, CPU, usb, fine... except basic... and that's where I lost most of my hair... SOUND!

First try to install the results of the pilot of his failure, claiming the mmdriver.inf cannot be found or corrupted, obviously I checked, and yes there it is, downloaded pleasure the MMDRIVER. INF and placed it system32 and the installation always fails.

I also tried a "manual installation", in .inf files... which includes pilots XP32/64 and Vista 32/64 bit drivers, still the same
problem, the driver continues to not install. I am going bald. Exceptional drivers who moved there

audio/graphics drivers... Well well... off to try something I guess...

If there is no help or ideas, I'd appreciate it.

    Hello

The laptop seems to use the Conexant audio chip. So, you will need the right sound driver for Win XP 64 bit.
Unfortunately, the European driver Toshiba page provides the drivers for Win XP but I don't know if the pilots would cover the OS 64 bit as well m.

Anyway, what you need to know, is that you will need to first install the patches Ms.
The fix KB835221 and KB888111MS must be installed before installing the audio driver.
If you have tried to install the driver, then remove it from the Device Manager and update Windows XP first!

AFAIK that SP3 already contains these patches then perhaps you should install SP3 first before starting with the installation of the audio driver.

  • After the passage of the UEFI boot problem boot in legacy (V5 - 471 g ACER WINDOWS 8)

Hello! I just change the boot settings in the BIOS to UEFI for Legacy (Windows 8). After passing them, I turn on my laptop and I see "Operating system not found" and "Media test failure, check cable of...» "Moreover, I use an Acer V5 - 471 G Windows 8. Please help me! PS My W8 is pre-installed.

    That's what I did...

    the same thing as you...

to solve this kind of mess...

First, you must download from the acer site, the last driver BIOS for your laptop.

    (use another laptop)

but you need to install a single... but don't worry, it will ask you if the file you are trying to install is not necessary... I used version 1.22... (it depends on the version of the bios, the starting version number must be the same., mine is 1. xxx 1.22, I was invited that installing it is not fair, she says that it is incompatible)

then, once you have downloaded, unzip it...

Make sure you have it on a USB (usb)

Second, since you have the Disc... use it...

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/139810-SFC-SC

This shows how to go to the command prompt by using repair disk (this can be win7 is virtually the same, only gui is different)

go to repair your computer option where you will find many options...

Choose the option to open a command prompt.

as your in drive X: that is the container for the discount, go to the current folder of the file...

X: > F: (if F is the letter of the usb key, then F, if not, then use the corresponding to the USB drive letter)
... go to the bios folder
    F: > cd BIOS_Acer_1.22_A_A/BIOS_Acer_1.22_Windows/Windows

    then run the Update.bat

(must be that your battery must be greater than 30 %..)

If so, simply run the Update.bat

    F:/BIOS_Acer_1.22_A_A/BIOS_Acer_1.22_Windows/Windows > Update.bat

just wait and voila... it's fixed

    mine is aspire v5 471g

just tried the boot legacy... and f2 was (as expected... does not work)

I just did what I said here and it worked again, bios has been returned to factory settings and I just sit here having a smiling face...

    Thus, a very big reminder...

What happened, never turn your computer off by updating of the bios... just to be sure of something stupid happens

If this does not work... try again the 2.17 sir...

Unzip the exe file it y...

    After that...

Locate the update.bat and then run...

  • C50-30 guard reset of the UEFI boot sequence

Fedora 22 works fine on the C50-30 and starts fine with Secure Boot. However I still have to press F12 and select manually the Fedora shim on each (re) start, because for some reason any firmware guard reset the boot order to put Windows first.

No matter if I move Fedora over Windows boot manager in the configuration utility, or efibootmgr allows you to change the order. After leaving the installation utility, the command is immediately reset to zero.

I missed another adjustment here, or is this a bug in the firmware? BIOS version is O1XKT06AUS.

It's a bug in the firmware. No problem if I rename \EFI\Microsoft to something else and make a new entry EFI (and adjust the GRUB configuration).

I can't let anyone use this information directly or indirectly from an act of Hararm (described here), so please... There is a very good news for everyone who is still working on it and try to make it work. "I managed to install Windows XP Professional 32-bit/64-bit on the system including the drivers Intel AHCI/RAID 'modded' ' in the installation CD, I downloaded from win-raid.com/t11f23-Modded-Intel-AHCI-and-RAID-Drivers.html they work very well for Intel 8 and the previous series. But you must include the version of the specific drivers (32 bit / 64 bit) in TXT Mode using nLite (tutorial). And remember NOT to hit F6 in the beginning of the installation or the drivers will not load. And even if Windows XP was not only supports the boot from VHDs, I managed to install it on a virtual hard drive and it starts in native mode on the system, using this tutorial. And I even found the official driver for Intel 4th gen HD Graphics on Windows XP, but it did not work for me. I can give you his name and ties if you got so far and please tell me if they worked for you. And if anybyddy needs help in the kind of question, I'll be happy to help you.
