backup Windows 7 not defined, but 2-3 GB per day that I can't stop or remove is computer backup

I use Macrium Reflect and save it on an external drive.  I noticed that my 300 GB D drive has only 43 GB free.  When I opened the disk, the file called System Volume Information showed over 200GB, but I couldn't see what was filling the folder.  When I reset the options folder for this folder so that I could see the protected operating system files, I found that files are created daily, 2-3 GB each.  I can't delete them.  I have tried to change the access, but have had no success with it.  They are listed in the form of system files.  There are 2 that are cited for each created file, the two locked {}.  There is a file called MountPointManagerRemoteDataBase.  My backup and restore screen shows that Windows backup has not been set to the top.

How can I stop this creation of files and delete the ones already made?  Thank you.

The System Volume Information folder is there any System Restore and The previous Versions of the shadow copies of files are stored.

Use the following procedure to remove the old system restore and previous Versions of files.

Go to Start and type Disk Cleanup in the area of Research . In the results, right-click on Disk Cleanup and select the run as administrator option.

Select the drive you want to clean, and then click OK.

After the program scans the disk, check all the files you want to delete.

Then, click the Other Options tab. In the section Sytem Restore and shadow , click the clear button.

Click OK.

Click the delete button in the confirmation window to remove all but the most recent system restore point.

Wait for the program to delete all the selected files. Check the disk space that is currently available.

You must also open the control panel and select System. On the left side of the window, click the System Protection. Select your drive system (C :).

Click on the button Configure. This is where you can set the system restore settings, including the Max use for the system restore files.

  • How to set file associations in Windows 7 (not 'open', but others)

In Windows XP, I could go to a menuFichier associations see or change references to elements like: Edit, print, etc., in addition to 'Open', and I could put the opened another default action (examples 'play', merger or edit).

Where can I do this in Win7?

I know on the page "Panel-> Default Programs-> Set Associations (associate a file of a program)", but that seems to have only the opportunity to choose a program that will be called when the user "clicks" on the file, which is the default action.

I recently installed an image viewer, but it took all my image assocs, editing program.

This is some 'sense' (otherwise, how to see pics in the Viewer?), so I right click to see if there was another option to edit my photo (such as edit)...   There are - except that it does not start my photo editing program, it starts 'paint '.

So, how can I do the 'Edit' menu option to call my editor?

In a more general way, how can I change one of the right-click options to point to my program, or if, say, 'change '.
was not there, and I wanted to 'Edit' on '.reg' programs to open the file in a text editor?

These things were relatively simple in Windows XP, but now I have no idea on where to find these basic
    Setting OS features.

I can't imagine that MS would expect people to learn and use 'regedit' to make these types of changes - but this seems to be the only program supplied with Win7 to do this, or I just WAY missing something obvious?

    Thank you!

You are missing the old style "File Types" dialog allowing you to resolve this kind of things?  In Windows 7 (and Vista), you will need to set manually in the registry.  But there is a small program that brings your familiar functionality.   I have not used it myself, but it seems to be quite impressive.  Here is the link: http://types.sourceforge.net/

Thank you very much for this link!

Your problem is that the PC is unable to properly read the table BIOS SLC, which should not be able to activate the key to OEM_SLP product in use here.

You must change the key to that on your COA sticker on the case of the machine, using the link to the product key of Cange the bottom of system properties - you will then need to activate by phone.

Don't know what the issue is here?  Does anyone know a fix for this?  I would rather have not shut down the system after 30 days of work!
    Thank you!

According to the report that you have posted, you should not see a non-genuine problem - the report is clean.

If you are indeed to see a non-genuine notification, then is that from time to time, or is this all the time?

If it is present only from time to time, you have a race condition - and those can be a nightmare to solve, because they disappear as soon as you look at :) They are often caused by antivirus programs in conflict with other programs running

If it is there all the time, then try the following.

Vista license store is perhaps damaged or its data can be ruined somehow. Please try the steps below to re-create the store with the correct data.

    (1) open an Internet browser window.
    (2) type: %windir%\system32 in the browser's address bar.
    (3) find the CMD.exe file
    (4) make a right click on CMD.exe and select "Run as Administrator"
    (5) type: net stop slsvc (it may ask you if you're sure, select Yes)
    (6) type: cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareLicensing
    (7) type: Rename tokens.bar tokens.dat
    (8) type: cd %windir%\system32
    (9) type: net start slsvc
    (10) type: cscript slmgr.vbs - FLIR (it may take time for this will be complete, please be patient)
    (11) restart your computer twice.
    (12) you may need to enter you product key and activate it.
