  If I were in PS and I took the same image and then resize the image and the text all look crisp and large. Resizing a picture jpg in ID seems to destroy the quality.

  Export the file ID that quality and no compression and the press images seem still very badly, text created in ID seems perfect.

  What have I done wrong?

  Screenshots are always poor display in PDF files, unless they are on the scale of 100%. It is the nature of the beast. I did a lot of technical documents for software over the years and rarely saw their bad in the press.

  The ID file and the exported PDF are the same name. The PDF file imported from the upper part of the page is the placed image. It prints well here.

  This is mainly due to my bad video codecs. Please upgrade to the latest version of the code pack installed or disable the mp4 codec or the creation of thumbnails.

  Also try these methods.

  Method 1

  Start in safe mode and check.

  1. remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

  2. click on the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.

  3. If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. • Firmware = "efi": Virtual Machine fails ISO image file

  I created a new Virtual Machine and choose in the settings under the CD/DVD (IDE) "use ISO image file". Advanced CD/DVD settings: device virtual node, IDE 1:0, CD/DVD (IDE).

  But it does not work. Why?

  

  It looks like the tool of creation of media does the same mistake that we saw several other OS vendors.  Quoting EFI/UEFI firmware in a Machine using VMware virtual:

  The UEFI specification allows some flexibility for sellers to extend the firmware, as well as for the implementation (or omit) optional parts of the UEFI specification.  Sometimes, OS vendors end by unintentionally depending on the characteristics of their development and test systems that are not part of the specification UEFI, thus limiting their operating system compatibility.

  The most common case of what we saw was sellers OS placing the EFI bootloader for the installation media on an ISO9660 or UDF filesystem instead of a partition of El Torito.  The UEFI specification does not require the ability to read an ISO9660 or UDF file system, although some hardware and the virtual platform providers include drivers for filesystems in any case.  Operating systems that are dependent on the presence of a pilot ISO9660 or UDF will severely restrict the platforms on which they can run, and these operating systems will not run in a VMware virtual machine.

  Your latest screenshot shows that the EFI boot files are present on the main filesystem UDF to disk, but your first screenshot shows the boot EFI files are not present in an El Torito boot partition, as requires it the EFI specification.  The drive you have there will depend on the presence of a UDF driver in the firmware of the system, so it will be bootable on some systems, but not all.  It will not be bootable in a VMware virtual machine.

  This should be reported to Microsoft as a defect in his media creation tool.

  In the meantime, there is a pre-built available for download on the Microsoft site, .iso image without using mediacreationtool.exe?  There is a much better chance of success with an .iso file that is downloaded directly.

• New procedures to import re - generate image files is not allowing us to rename the files.

  Hey guys suggestions to solve the following problem?

  A recurring problem with RoboHelp since always our names project being too long to migrate. We can manually reduce the size of the folder names and the names of theme files, however, with the new import procedures, RoboHelp generates separate image files in the theme files and we cannot rename these files. This cancels the efforts to reduce the filenames of the subjects. When attempting to rename files, RoboHelp recreates the original folder and the image no longer appears in the project manager pod or in the published HTML files.

  OK, so I just wanted to make you understand that what you see inside RoboHelp's nothing RoboHelp done to change anything. Now let's talk about this document. One thing I would say (and my good friend Peter suggested) are that you rename this document before importing in RoboHelp. Short filenames will lead to short paths (and fewer questions possible) once we enter the world of RoboHelp.

  When you work with something like RoboHelp, you have all kinds of different files involved that help track your project. I noticed that your Word document using a comma in the name of the file. I strongly suggest to avoid any character other than 0-9, a - z, A - Z, underscore (_) line. Any character other than those who must be considered to be 'special' and will only cause you pain at some point.

  So as you have seen, when Word creates HTML, it also creates for these files. RoboHelp strives to have your back and prevent you from shoot you yourself in the foot. I noticed that when I tested it by saving as HTML, that more than simple images were placed in the Word folder created. RoboHelp probably prevents you from changing the name of the folder because of other files inside. In General, RoboHelp allows you to name your images as you wish and store anywhere you like. But this content is a bit special, because it comes from the word.

  One way to work beyond this would be to save your images separately from the word, appointing appropriately, and then import a Word document without the image. Then add the images later. In this way you should not end up with unwanted files and images may be stored where you want.

• Problem handling placed images

  I have problems with the images that I place.  In the past, I've 'saved' as pdf or print to PDF from excel figures, could then place the image in Illustrator, release the clipping masks and Ungroup to manipulate the image.  Since a week ago, I can no longer disassociate or release clipping masks these placed PDF files.  I use Adobe Illustrator CS5, 15.1.0 and excel for mac 2011 version, version 14.4.7.  I don't remember installing updates on either recently, but a month or two that I've worked with Illustrator, so it is possible that I have installed an update that I don't remember.  (I tried to put the old images that I have correctly placed and handled before, and I can't handle them, either).  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  I know that you can drag an indesign file from the finder into an indesign document (or place one indesign file into another indesign file). In this way, when you update the original file the placed image will update in your new document.

  Drag-and-drop is not the best way to add images (those of plains, or a document, PDF or INDD docs)...

  Better is to use the place command - it comes with a handy "show Import Options' button. Alternatively, you can hold the SHIFT key and select 'OK '. This enables / disables the 'Options of Import Show', so you can leave it off (you who want generally).

  The Options of Import Show opens a dialog box where you can select not only what page (or pages!) to import, but also allows to change the frame by default - bounding box, bleeding, etc.

• Get a preview of image files but not the other files

  In the Finder (or an alternative file manager) is there a way to show previews of image files, but not for the other files?

  With the image files, it will display a preview. With other types of file, a preview is useless and its best to see a standard icon indicating the file type.

  Any decent file on all Linux distributions browser lets you choose Preview vs standard icon based on case by case basis depending on the file type. I can't see how to proceed in the Finder (or the various alternatives as TotalFinder). How can I me Finder for this?

  The thumbnails, you mean? I don't think that there is a 'decent' solution for OS x. But then again, I don't know everything.

  Are the photos always in your phone? If so you could import it onto the computer.
