Battery meter strange behavior

The following occurred 3 times or so now. A moment I see the battery as having charge of ~ 25%-35% on the left, and a few minutes later, the gauge indicates the battery is at a critical level of 6% to the left charge.

What happens here? I'm guessing it is a necessary indicator reset? However, if that were the case, why not was not I notified by the system? There is a section in the power manager > battery > battery care which deals specifically with the drums of caliber and an option that says "notify my when reset is recommended.

I'm running win7 x 64 on a T510 (9-cell) with the latest version of the power manager.

the notification system is not 100% foolproof, it sometimes don't work as it should.

If you can, try a reset.

    Hello everyone!

I have a laptop HP Envy DV6-7375ez type. My problem is, that when I got up in the morning and turned on my laptop, suddenly a message appeared before Windows starts: "alert battery HP - the system detected below battery storage capacity is very low." For optimal performance, this battery will need to be replaced.
    Main battery (internal) (601).

It is strange, because if I remove the power and only use the battery, I can use the machine, just can't see whether he is responsible or not, does not show percentage. If I turn the machine off and taken power in, then the led lights in white color (it should be amber, if she is in charge - looks like that's not supported now). I already took, has waited about 30 minutes, and then put back in place - but nothing of difference.

Also tried the HP System Diagnostics Test battery, but when I run the test of the battery, it stucks at 1% and nothing happens for minutes. I need to turn off the machine as press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. Tried twice, and it was the same thing.

Yesterday it was working fine, used from my bed via the battery, it was not problem at all. You have any ideas? Is it a situation "needs to buy another battery? Should I try with software, or wait more than 30 minutes, or something else? Thanks for your response!

OK, I have the solution. If anyone has had this problem, try using this 'method ':

    1. remove the power cable, use only batteries

    2. start a game + a few videos at the same time + listen to music, etc... It will drain your battery fast.

    3. maybe in an hour or less/more, your battery will be empty, laptop stops instantly.

    4. do not turn on the machine, just plug your rear power cable. Now you should be able to see, if she is in charge (mine is amber when you reload, white lighthing if fully charged)

    5. wait 10-15 minutes, turn on your machine and BAMM. Now you have found your battery, no more error at startup and can see the percentage of battery in windows.

    I hope that helps!

  • Strange behavior of TM2 recharge battery - only charges when almost dead

    Hi people,

I have a new 2200 TM2T who exhibits some strange behavior of battery charge.  When plugged in, the battery will say "connected, charge", but the battery does not charge at all, no matter how much time he has left in (reported remaining level remains the same).  However, if I leave the battery discharged completely, it will start loading again, all the way up to 100%.

It's a kind of weird automatic battery calibration or something?  I am hoping there is a way to solve this problem, because it's really annoying to not be able to keep busy all the time.

    Hi people,

I just wanted to report on the resolution of my battery problem.  Returned the laptop to HP, and technical support has replaced the motherboard.  Works fine now.

  • Has anyone ever met a strange behavior layer blend modes?

I use a little photoshop for retouching and photo compositing. Tonight, I met a strange problem. I tried create a vintage photo look and had a number of adjustment layers, including a curves, levels, fill color and there was also that some layers of texture and noise all the value of the different opacities. To the top of all of this I had a layer of tile that was black on the edges and white in the Center, on the mode of multiplication of mixture. Well, when I was clicking on and turned off, I realize that this layer of the tile was certainly lighten the central part of the whole image a little (the part which is white on the layer of the tile), almost like a screen. So I hit the thumbnail by different modes of opacity layer and saw that there was no change in his behavior, each mode has screening white, darker color and multiply. I thought that perhaps he was interacting in a weird way with an other diapers so I have not disabled all the others except the back ground - still no change. Then I dropped the layer to the bottom of the after another until it was less than the background. When I started back up again, he behaved normally for a while until that I moved it to the top of some levels in the stacking order, and then he returned to the behavior of the screen. Anyway, I mixed it autour a bit but there was no thick when it would appear correct opacity and when he wouldn't, so it doesn't seem to be any specific layer interaction. I don't know, but I don't see really no case where white multiply together should produce a lighter result even if it were interacting with a different opacity. In any case it seems to me that there is something to do with the overall calculation of the opacities. I tried to create a new layer black and white and it was also do the same, strange behavior and do not correct opacity.

I'm tired, so I'm going to bed. I'll turn off the computer and hope it goes further when I reboot, but if it isn't, doesn't that sound familiar to anyone? I'm not a regular visitor to this forum, but I thought I'd put it out there in case someone else has experienced something like this. I did that 5 gigabytes of ram on this computer and I worked there for a while... maybe that photoshop could not keep just up (?) I use Photoshop CS5, space colorimetric RGB Adobe 1998.  I never had something like this happen in the past eleven years, I've been using photoshop. Hmmm... hope I don't have to reinstall or call support or worse. I cross my fingers.

The layer is in a group of layers have an other than to pass through blending Mode?

  • Y40 - 80 randomly turn off. The battery calibration has not fixed the problem of battery meter.

    Hello

I've had this Y40-80 during about 9 months and it has recently been acting strangely. The laptop will stop randomly. I thought that it was a sign, I had to calibrate the battery but after I had calibrated the battery, the battery meter percentage remained at 100% for a good 2 hours until it starts to decrease.

Now, I tried to recalibrate the battery for 5 times using the howtogeek, OneKey and the discharge of the BIOS. I did a fresh install of Windows to get rid of all the software Lenovo that might have caused the problem, but that did nothing.

I also uninstalled the Windows ACPI and Lenovo ACPI, which does not solve everything.

This issue makes the computer laptop underclock the processor environ.48 Ghz, which makes the computer almost unusable.

Someone have an idea on how to solve this problem, or is the battery dead?

In response to customer relationships of unexpected behavior portable Y40 - 70 and Y40-80 meter battery, Lenovo has determined that the battery meter software is working as expected. The unusual calibre results being reported are the reflection of the battery reaches the end of life.

Lenovo has launched a CUTTING-EDGE Service to help customers get the battery replacement under warranty, or if more warranty, find a spare from suppliers approved by Lenovo battery. The Service TIP can be found here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/sf16-I0023

The numbers for Y40-70/80 batteries are:

  • Strange behavior USB Flash Drive Satellite A100-626

    Hello

I did install Windows Vista Business Edition on my Satellite A100-626 (PSAA9) following the instructions provided in the Web page of drivers.

So far, everything works as expected, except for one little (or no) question.

When I ask Vista to 'Remove hardware safely' my USB Flash drive, a Popup appears telling me to remove it. So far, so good :D

The only thing is that the flash player is not put out as could be expected and and yellow question mark appears in Device Manager.

Opening of the question mark can read what follows:

"Windows cannot use this hardware device because it has been developed to remove safely, but it has not been removed from the computer. (Code 47) To resolve this issue, disconnect the device from your computer and plug it in again. »

Following the instructions above, the light turns off, lol...

Someone else met this strange behavior? If so, any solution?

I tried a few USB flashes that run well on XP and they both do the same thing.

    Thank you, Nuno!

    Hi Nuno

It's very strange. I have the Satellite A100-504 (comes with Windows XP Home edition). Last week, I installed Vista and all the stuff followed Toshiba document instructions facilities. I use the mouse wireless, external HDD USB web cam. With the help of these external devices together I never noticed a similar behavior.

You have the same situation with all the USB ports?

  • Strange behavior file open/create/replace

    Hi all

I will make my question as broad as possible because I think someone must have met this behavior before. I use the function open/create/replace file to programmatically open a file, giving a path entry created in an earlier vi. Strange behavior, I see, is that although Labview returns 1 error when I give my file programmatically, it reads the file OK if I give as a constant. The constant path that I give is exactly the same as one I am tryinng to programmatically.

Any suggestions? Is it to do with a string formatting problem? I enclose my portion of treated VI the path_in section.

    Thanks for your time,

    Kind regards

    Harry

Wild guess: you must use 'build path' instead of 'concatenate strings' build path.

(Also use a constant of diagram of the path (not a string!) to "c:\ni-rt\" and get rid of the "trim whitespace' and the 'chain of path")

See if that makes a difference. (build path is OS independent, while the operations of independent channels are not).

Never use the paths as strings. There are very few cases where this would be appropriate.

  • Windows 7 battery meter is not calibrated

    Hello

I use Windows 7 Ultimate in a laptop Dell E1705 as a test. When I installed the operating system, my laptop had a very old battery that discharge completely after only 5 minutes, the battery meter seems to detect it properly and off the PC accordingly. I bought a new battery directly from DELL, and it seems to recharge and discharge as planned (takes 3 hours). But Windows 7 battery meter seems to "remember" the former behaivor of battery or something really wrong with her. When I am on battery even though the battery meter reports 99% charged it shows a yellow alert and tells me that the battery is low. When the battery reaches about 77% or 80% load it tells me the battery is critical and the computer turns off! If I turn on the computer after that, he always tells me that the battery is critical to 80%! I can continue to work normally (with now a red alert) for 2 hours and a half like that, and when finally reached load 1% Windows does not detect what is really critical and do not shut down the computer. The battery will just drain completely and the laptop turns off suddenly. I checked the battery and load in the DELL bios and it seems OK. Windows battery meter reports the load properly, it's the actions that it performs and which are incorrect. How can I change this? How can I tell windows not to stop at 80% battery charge, but 10%. Any ideas how to solve this problem? Thank you.

    Hello
I had exactly the same behavior, but after a month, install and reinstall the drivers, I finally found the reason and the solution. Go to 'Power Options', 'putting into change plan' of your plan, then 'Change advanced power settings', expand 'Battery' and set correct values for 'low battery level' (10%) and the "critical battery level" (5%). Mine were on 99 and 98 percent... This look is like changing the battery somehow confuses / changes these values?

I hope this will solve your problem...

    Best regards, Mihi

  • Strange behavior of cropping & other bugs

Hello. My copy of Photoshop CS4 has recently started a strange behavior. I'm working on a 17 '' Mac Book Pro to end 2007 running OS 10.6.4.Ready to crop.png

This is a screenshot just before cropping in image that I train.

    After cropping.png

This is the same area after knocking back the harvest indeed. This tiny spec is what remains of my image.

    3200% zoom.png

If I expand this area to 3200%, that's what I see:

I've never met this before. I restarted Photoshop. I restarted the computer. I was in 20 GB limit of my hard drive, so I released 40 GB of storage space to backup the old files on DVD. My computer is a maximum of 4 GB or RAM. WTF? A bug perhaps related but somewhat independent, with that I had business since empty menu windows in Illustrator and Photoshop in my series of CS4. Opening the window hides in the PS and the swatches in Illustrator and PS resulted in empty menu windows. (The window is there, without tools or controls inside. Just grey.

Do I need to remove and reinstall or something? Applications can get corrupted?

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Check the options for the crop tool bar.

You entered a resolution, and the acreage resulting something tiny, resampled comes from the selected area.

  • Firefox crashes (and other strange behaviors) due to gifs

From a recent update Firefox displayed a strange behavior that surrounds the gifs. Sometimes, after viewing pages with a large number of gifs or several very large gifs, Firefox will do things like not animate gifs, or even do not load the images at all, an and will not stop until I have restart Firefox. What's more concerning is that sometimes in these situations, Firefox will simply hang and stop responding, forcing me to kill the process.
This page shows the behavior of hanging fairly regularly: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1021843 & page = 21
It seems more likely to happen when I scroll the page quickly. The behavior persists when I restart Firefox mode without failure.

39 of Firefox seems to have solved the problem.

  • Battery meter

My iPhone 6 is running iOS 9.3.1 just today started having a problem with the battery meter records does not correctly. After several hours of using my phone this morning, I noticed that he was always at 100% and he died soon after. It wasn't a problem last night, because I remember watching down to 4% and die last night. I had my time manually rather than what allows it to configure automatically. This http://fortune.com/2016/01/19/battery-issues-iphone-6s-and-6s-plus/ of fortune dot com suggested to do a hard reboot and automatic time setting enable. I restarted, and then activated, then restarted again, but nothing.

I got the iOS version that I am running for awhile, so I don't think that it has nothing to do with the update because I only started to have a problem with it this morning

First, download the autonomy since the app store app. It will tell you the status of the battery. Then try the battery meter calibration if the problem is not the battery.

    Recalibrate your battery meter:

    • Charges to 100%
    • Run the battery until the phone turns off
    • If it stops above 1% charge for only one minute, and then continue running the battery down. Repeat until it makes 1% before shutting
    • Load it back to 100%

If the battery is defective, this should fix it.

  • Strange behavior with the function «Help in command line»

So I do a little playing with the opening of the files compiled help (.chm) with the command-line help feature, and I saw a strange behavior when trying to index multi-level access keywords. According to the documentation, if you set the 'Key' operation, you can enter a value for ' string to search for "to access this section. The more precise help that:

If this string contains a keyword index, the string must match the key of the index as it appears in the help index file. To access a topic with a multilevel index keyword, enter the keyword of the top-level index, a colon and the keyword of the second level index. Do not separate the elements with spaces. For example, a chain of error codes: GPIB jumps about a subject with a keyword of top-level index of error codes and a second level keyword index of GPIB.

All right, seems simple enough. Except that when I tried, I couldn't work, even with the example provided. I tried the following simple test:

Opens the help file, but it opens to this page, not to the page ' error codes: GPIB "non-descript. I saw this in 8.2 and 8.6. Anyone have any success with access to a multi-level keyword?

    Note - side

Curiously, the Index for the help lvconcepts.chm file looks like this:

In other words, the input index text is just "GPIB", but the text that appears in the keyword field is "codes error, GPIB. I'm curious to know how this was accomplished. I decompiled the lvconcepts.chm file and watched the .hhk file, and it is not immediately obvious to me. (By the way, if you try to use "error codes, GPIB" it does not either).
