Strange behavior of TM2 recharge battery - only charges when almost dead

Hi people,

I have a new 2200 TM2T who exhibits some strange behavior of battery charge.  When plugged in, the battery will say "connected, charge", but the battery does not charge at all, no matter how much time he has left in (reported remaining level remains the same).  However, if I leave the battery discharged completely, it will start loading again, all the way up to 100%.

It's a kind of weird automatic battery calibration or something?  I am hoping there is a way to solve this problem, because it's really annoying to not be able to keep busy all the time.

Hi people,

I just wanted to report on the resolution of my battery problem.  Returned the laptop to HP, and technical support has replaced the motherboard.  Works fine now.

What Satellite laptop do you have?

At the moment, I can t say what the reason is for this. Maybe you should try to update the BIOS that you can find on the Toshiba site:

  • Laptop battery only charges to 79%. Think I've changed the settings earlier to save the battery of thea, but now want to 100% load again.

My laptop battery is ok, but still only charge up to 79%. And stop there. What should do? I changed the settings as soon as possible to save the battery, but now wants to load 100% again. I can't find where to change them back.

If you start in System Setup (BIOS) - before any loading of the operating system - and look at the section health and charge battery... What percentage watch battery is charged it?  What status?  If leave you it in the BIOS and let it load this way - it's 100% top?  If so - what happens when you start in Windows?

(Trying to confirm this, it is an error within the OS and not a hardware problem).

  • HP laptop G72: Battery only charge while turned off.

-Does not load when turned on, but cool when turned off.
-Port charger LED flashes between orange and white when it is off. (Although, when turned on the orange blink.)

I tried the method of discharge. (Disconnect the battery and Charger AC/DC, hold the power button / stop for about 30 seconds, then plug the battery back in and re-clogging the AC charger.) I had a problem with other methods, like I can't turn on the computer without the battery. I actually had this for 4 years and the warranty is already dissipated and it still works very well, except for the battery, so I don't want to lose, so if you could help me fix my laptop, that would be great! Thanks in advance if the problem is resolved.

4 years is about the max for laptop battery life. However, it should run/work with even without battery. You seem to have a defective power adapter - they wear out too.

Get your full model number or product and use it here to find the model of necessary power for your laptop adapter. Even if they don't have in stock, you should be able to find a way... Amazon, eBay, etc.

  • Satellite Pro L20: battery not charge when the power adapter is connected

    Hello

    all advice appreciated.

I had a Satellite Pro L20 for about 18 months. Recently, battery does not charge when the power adapter is connected. The battery light starts yellow (which means more liberated, I think?), then will both green, the machine sat for awhile. However the ACPI often said that AC is "offline."

There are two recent occurrences that coincide with this problem, I try to eliminate:

    1. my friends rat chewed by the feeder for pets! Power is Mobile OK insofar as he fled sector - the rat seems to have simply chewed by the outer cover (I see some threads, but I think that is just a shield, although I'm not an electrician).

    2. I put the laptop in hibernation for the first time. That seemed to mess up the system a bit, which was what initially drew my attention to the problem. This question is a bit complicated because I'm under Linux (Xubuntu).

I updated the drivers etc from windows when I bought the laptop. Never had any problems until now and have been running linux for centuries. Also, I have mainly the laptop the power supply turned off, but do not remove the battery (is that really a problem these days?)

I obviously need to replace the adapter, but is - it is likely (and how I can check) that the battery was borked until?

    see you soon
    Chris

First, please check if the other are lit.
If the AC led and power led are on the adapter sector is ok and it provides the power to the laptop.

    > The battery light starts yellow (which means more liberated, I think?), then will both green, the machine sat for awhile
If the battery LED is yellow, this means that the battery is not fully charged and if the Green led changes then recharging is caught and the battery has been recharged.

So I really don t see any problems with the charge process.

Maybe the battery is old and so you cannot use it for an extended in such a case only the replacement of the battery could help.

  • Satellite M70-340: battery not charge when AC is branch

    Hello world

Well, my problem is that I just bought a Toshiba Satellite M70-340 and used only for 2 days, but I have problems with my battery.

The battery does not seem to load. When I plug in the charger, the battery indicator turns on but the windows loading indicator is constantly at 0%. When I unplug the charger after awhile the laptop immediately turns off.

I noticed today morning problem, but the incident in question just as I remember it's the charger fell yesterday from a distance of about 50cm in height on a floor tiled. I don't know if this could affect it or not.

The only changes that I made to the software are also updated Microsoft Windows & Office.

Kindly help me knowing the cause of the problem and the solution that he.

    Concerning

    HELLO Faiz,

If your laptop works when the power adapter is plugged it works correctly. The THST is that the battery does not load can indicate a problem with the battery or the electronics in the laptop. However, I would first check very carefully that the battery is correctly installed and that there is no insulating plastic part that prevents the battery contacts to connect properly.
If everything looks well then you laptop is covered by warranty Toshiba and I would say that your outlet or send it to your provider to be extracted.

    Kind regards

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB Bold only charges when turned off

    Hi all

I have a BB "BOLD" for a few weeks now.  When I plug it into the charger, it does not seem to load when the device is on.  The loading symbol appears in the upper left corner, but if I unplug the device after a period of time, the battery status symbol doesn't seem like the unit is charged.  In addition, the light yellow of load not flach when plugged in when turned on.

When I switch off the unit and plug it in, I get the charging flashing yellow light and accusations of pretty good device.

I also tried it with the device is plugged into the USB port on my laptop (I have DeskTop Manager 4.7), and it does not seem to load there either, although I have not tried to load from the PC the unit is turned off.

It is a real problem, as very often, I want to load the device then turned, while I do miss phone calls and emails.

    Thank you.

    Adam

The battery on the top icon left not enough resolution to be used for something other than a general indication of charge level.

Go to Options, State to see the level of charge of the battery percentage.

When I have my camera on during loading, I do not see the battery flashing yellow light. In fact, I didn't "BOLD" had one of these!

In any case, see if the percentage level changes during loading with the appliance on.

  • See a strange "flat" on a stroke. Only happens when the stroke is applied to a group

I've struggled with some files from old design at work, and after an afternoon of the fixation of the paths open and such yesterday, I encountered a strange problem today.

I worked on the application of a thick line outside our organization logo. Because the logo is made up of several paths, to be applied to the needs of the race overall, otherwise the race for a single path will cover another part of the logo.

Anyway, I apparently fixed it and it worked for what I had, but today, I noticed a strange thing going.

A small part of the race was a "flat" notable on one of the curves. I can't understand what is happening with it.

Seen in the middle of this screenshot (path has a blue background, white outline).

    Screen Shot 2016-02-24 at 12.52.00 PM.png

I played a bit and figured out that if the race is only applied to a path, there is no flat. However, when it is applied to the group, he's here.

It is always very slightly noticeable suddenly 1pt, but each additional point, it becomes more obvious. !

    Any ideas?

    Who does not unfortunately.

It seems to have solved the problem, but it's one of those unsatisfactory hotfixes that isn't really you say anything about the problem!

I clicked on the handle on one adjacent anchor elements and, without releasing the mouse, he walked away, then he returned to the same place. That seems to have done, even if there was no real change.

    Well...

  • Satellite M50 - charges the battery only when stopped

My Satellite M50 battery only when stopped. Does this mean that when I work I'm still running on batteries, which of course carry out completely after 1 to 2 hours. Then I shut down the computer and it started charging again (orange led), and after a few hours, I still have a 100% charged battery.

Of course, this means that the computer is not available. Until a few weeks ago it used to have the same problem if I disconnected the power plug then reconnected it: the battery needed to dump then to 0%, even if the power is connected, but now the problem is constant.

I've updated to the latest version of the BIOS, I could find and even completely reinstall windows from the recovery disks, but the problem is still there. The computer is a Toshiba Satellite M50 - 126 model PSM51E, the BIOS is Phoenix BIOS v2.10

Is it possible that the BIOS is damaged of some sort? I tried to reinstall V2.10 but he told me that I have the same version and it will not be installed.

    Hi lartech,.

You can recharge the battery if you get into the BIOS and made the battery charging icon light?
Are you using the original Toshiba AC/DC adapter and battery?

In the worst case, it s a malfunction of the motherboard, and you have done what you can do: BIOS update and to install Windows from the recovery disc. If this doesn't help s a bad hardware work.

Hi, I have my Toshiba Satellite p30 and only works on battery. This unit operate on sector or only on the battery as after the period of time go down the warning, then closes. The orange light fades in and out, but seems that it will only fully charge when the unit is turned off completely.

normally, the battery should always charge until it is full when the power is connected.
If you have an orange light flashes, it means that something is wrong. Maybe your battery is faulty or something else. This should be checked by a technician.
