Beachball days :(

Everything was ok, for years, then Powerpoint crashed, VLC did the same thing and I was unable to really do anything else since.

Do some research here, did reset the SMC, started in safemode, turned off and unplugged, made an another RAM reset, check the malware (Nothing) and did the EtreCheck (which I can not decipher).

I uninstalled the application Memory Cleaner, but no change.

Any suggestions?

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is particularly bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

These must be run as administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.

Run the Console application in one of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search. Select from the results (it should be at the top).

☞ In the Finder, select go utilities ▹ of menu bar or press the combination of keys shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

The title of the Console window should be all Messages. If it isn't, select

SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ all Messages

in the list of logs on the left. If you don't see this list, select

List of newspapers seen ▹ display

in the menu at the top of the screen bar.

Each message in the journal begins with the date and time when it was entered. Highlight date back to the time you noted above.

Select the messages entered since then until the end of the episode, or until they begin to repeat, whichever comes first.

Copy messages to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command + V.

The journal contains a large amount of information, almost all this is useless to solve any particular problem. When you post a journal excerpt, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Please don't dump blindly thousands of lines in the journal in this discussion.

Please do not post screenshots of log messages - text poster.

Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

When you post the journal excerpt, an error message may appear on the web page: "you include content in your post that is not allowed", or "the message contains invalid characters." It's a bug in the forum software. Thanks for posting the text on Pastebin, then post here a link to the page you created.

If you have an account on Pastebin, please do not select private in exposure menu to paste on the page, because no one else that you will be able to see it.

    Aug 22, 2016, 21:24:16 self-test - spent

Then. about a year and a half, I had a Samsung Evo 840 500 GB SSD because the original hard drive in my Macbook Pro early 2011 need to relax a bit. Immediately, I saw incredible results. I simply restored a time machine backup and everything worked beautifully and kept making only a few months before.

One morning I wake up and all of a sudden, everything is extremely slow. Clicking on anything, to open anything and start my mac takes forever. Even simple typing was extremely laggy. Constant beach ball was my new reality.

After the restoration, wiping, do an install own a couple of times, I thought that the data on the computer was not the problem.

I thought it might be my RAM and fortunately I had upgraded my RAM earlier, so I could easily pop in my old and see if it solves the problem. There can be no.

I have a Macbook Pro, which was 4.5 years... probably my SSD of 1.5 years could not be the problem. I didn't have my old hard drive, but was able to get my hands on one to test. Not that's the lag (I mean, since it's an old hdd, it wasn't in blistering) compared to SSDS.

I read quite a few places that the Samsung Evo 840 has serious problems. But... I put my SSD in a Windows computer, ran the thing about test Smart Magic and it says that the disc was in good health. Update the firmware anyway. Couldn't really see no improvement in speed of read/write anyway. Put it back into my mac and now it does not lag as long and as often, but it is still quite unbearable. Using the black magic speed test (disk speed test) I always get what I'm supposed to ~ 500 read/write.

I tried to repair my disk and partitions in the recovery mode disk utility, but it does not find defects.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

Hi, Corneille, I read your report of EtreCheck and I see several places where the problem could come from.

First, you must enable TRIM on your SSD.

Uninstall bittorrent. Torrents are great places to pick up malware. They to hitchhike on downloads and even you would not be aware.

Uninstall Google Drive, it is a known culprit.

Then run another report of the CE.

  • Apps get beachballed one after the other on the new iMac. Help with my log files?

Hey guys, thanks for reading this.

Every day, a beachball appears when you something for on El Capitan. Could not get it to a specific action. One day he could write an email the other day, while in iCal, Photoshop, after a spotlight search. I need hard close the iMac with the button on the back.

In this case: a beachball is displayed once I did something. When an application is "beachballed", the application no longer leads, I can switch to other applications, just to beachball them as well. It's like a contagious disease. In some applications before the beachball is "taken by the infection", I can do things, just to be beachballed shortly after.

One thing that never works opens the top menu left apple to close the iMac. It won't just open but shows the beachball.

Nice surprise here, new iMac, 32 gig RAM, last update of El Capitan.

After a few crashes, I went in spotlight preferences and checked all items to spotlight indexes no more nothing. I thought that it might help, but apparently it didn't. It's newspapers since the last crash:

You experts, what I can do to narrow down the problem?

Sentence, I want to set up the entire system from scratch because I'm working on this thing.

    Thank you

This kind of behavior is sometimes caused by a fault memory. If you have replaced or adding memory, please test with only the original memory installed and see if the stop gel.

    Problem: Beachballing

    Description:

Incredibly slow at the same time. Sometimes freezes completely and will not be closed. None of the keyboard shortcuts will help you. I need to use the power button on the back to turn it off.

And even then, sometimes, after the reboot, the problem persists. And other times, I need to restart several times.

Hard drive appears to be faulty.

It seems that you have current backups, so you should be able to recover if the drive completely fails.

Run disk utility to repair the disk and also check the SMART State.

When a player starts to falter, it is almost certain, it will fail. There is really no cover failures of IO because it indicates that the player no longer has the ability to remap bad blocks.

If you have AppleCare, you can probably still get it replaced. However, they are fairly cheap these days and quite easy to replace yourself.

  • Beachballing - report Etrecheck

Hello. I hope someone can help me - my iMac has suddenly begun beachballing two days earlier and slowing almost to a stop. Since then, he has been erratic, speed up and slow down again. Here's the report from Etrecheck. Before that I had recently installed Adobe flash plug in, also created a couple of new accounts and updated Adobe reader. I seemed that the Mac was gradually slowing down a week or so in advance. Also, I found that I can't access system preferences. Thank you for advice or suggestions. PS I'm not technical at all! In addition, a little long in the tooth so patience is appreciated.

  • Rolling constant beachball more

For awhile there, it has become impossible for people who are using earlier versions of the Mac operating system to use Skype, so a person in a community came with a fancy workaround that involves changing something in the Terminal. While Skype came with means for people with OS 5 (which I was using at the time) to connect with Skype. I thought I had cancelled the "fix" and everything should be fine, but there has always been a problem with the "beachball" wheelchair and slow. And it happens when there is only a single app - or at the most two - open.

Subsequently, I got Snow Leopard (now at the 10.6.8) and hope that things would improve. (Snow Leopard is supposed to be more efficient that Leopard was.) I also have day Firefox in several points. All that was supposed to make things more efficient and better. Now, however, the beachball problem, as well as the buffering on even the simplest videos and slow, there is growing worse. (Just open files not online seems not to be a particular problem.) I don't really know if what I did made this happens, but I wonder why he would and if yes, what "improvement" was to blame. Any ideas? He drives me crazy. Thank you very much.

Please after the release of EtreCheck and someone will try to analyze the configuration of your system and that you have added to your system over the years that may contribute to your performance problems.

  • Beachballing computer and slow performance EtreCheck included

    Hey guys!
First of all, I would like to thank all of you who can answer, help much appreciated!

I waited until that servers are not overloaded with first time Uploaders (approximately 1 week of release) to download El Capitan, so it would not take years to download it from overloaded servers, I started noticing after awhile my super zippy early 2015 13 "MacBook Pro slow down. (I5 2.7 GHz, 16 GB RAM, certified re-machined, purchased July 2015)

This is particularly visible in switching applications.

Thanks again for any help! Heres the system check.

Contentwatch is a program called NetNanny which restricts the content inappropriate on the interwebs. Just thought I would add that before asking several people.

  • El Capitan beachball memory WARNING etreCheck

Hi all, just went from Snow Leopard to El Capitan a week ago. System worked a little slower that previously, for example, beachball delay when moving from one application to the next. Everything froze last night and I got the message "your system is running out of Application memory". I left a few apps and he was running again, so I did a search on which lead me to some previous discussions on these forums. A little advice that seemed useful was to run etreCheck I get & post the report below. I guess that the problem is due to software obsolete that are always installed and can see some things in the report which appear to be problematic, but I don't know exactly what to do to correct them. Would appreciate any advice on how to proceed.

    Thank you

    Michael

    com.evernote.Evernote - /Applications/Evernote.app/Contents/MacOS/Evernote

Everything froze last night and I got the message "your system is running out of Application memory".

This message means that there is no excessive swapping of data between physical memory (that is, tokens of memory on the logic board) and virtual memory (one or more files on the boot volume.) This activity is relatively slow and causes the entire system to be less sensitive. It can happen for two reasons:

A process of long duration with a memory leak (a kind of bug)

Not enough memory for your usage pattern

Please note that if the cause is a memory leak, install more memory will not help. It's likely you have already more than 4 GB of memory. Hunt for leaking memory can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.

These instructions are for OS X 10.9 and later versions. Some details may be slightly different for earlier versions of Mac OS X.

When you notice the slowdown, open the activity monitor application, then select all processes in the view menu, if it is not already selected. Select the memory the real Mem of the treatment twice table column header to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you do not see this column, select

View ▹ columns ▹ real memory

    in the menu bar.

If a process (excluding the "kernel_task") uses a lot more memory than all the others, which could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that constantly catches real more memory over time without ever letting go. Here is an example of how it's done.

"Wired" memory should be less than half of the total. That memory is not exchanged, but makes available physical memory that you may then in Exchange. If most of the memory is wired, which can be an indication of a leak memory in a third-party program that modifies the low-level operating system. Ask for advice in this case.

If you do not have a clear memory leak, the options are to install more memory (if possible) or less than programs running concurrently.

The following suggestion is reserved for users familiar with the shell. For a more accurate, but potentially misleading test, run the following command:

sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total

where process is the name of a process, you think of a memory leak. Almost every process will cause a memory leak. the question is how, and especially how the leakage increases with time. I can't be more specific. See the manual page leaks (1) and the Apple Developer documentation for more details.

  • PS 2015.0.0 & 2015.0.1 spinning beachball

    Hi all

Had a problem with PS lately where I get the spinning beachball. Update of 2015.0.1 he has not fixed either.

Makes it difficult to get through a day of work.

This shows that most time that Photoshop was waiting for the user entered, but he spent some time working on the font previews.

A corrupt font cache of police of operating system file can cause delays.

See the fonts troubleshooting | CS6 2014 CC, CC, Photoshop, CS5

  • Cry a river. Beachball galore! Why in the name of hell they call it an upgrade?

My frustration is so great that I can't write ever.

I had delays beachball in CC2014, but mainly in Illustrator.

A delay of beachball 5 sec trying to 'open' a file or a closure. Or just go back to Illustrator gave me the beachball.
Very annoying but you would think they should fix.

But he got 10 x worse! Now the beachball is there when you try to type text, or adding a filter, opening/closing.

But worse still, it is now also in Photoshop! It's NOT usable! I get beachball even delays opening of contour lines!

I do this 200 x a day, so go figure.

Abobe what hell are guys you think?

Don't get started me on AFtereffects, my main program.
What you have done with this version, I can not enter. You have disabled as many features as we know for many years.

I wish indeed there was an alternative for the soft you do. Because you're done laughing right on our faces!

    Shame on you!

  • S-L-O-O-O-W! If this problem has been resolved? Spinning Beachball every time I change anything!

Hi all - I have the latest version of Dreamweaver CC 2014 (6733 Build). It is desperately slow. I searched and found a lot of discussions about it, tried a few recommendations, but have not found a solution to this problem - and I need to get this working ASAP because I spend too much time waiting and waiting and waiting. I even started a new site, with only one html page. Something as simple as applying an h1 tag, and then editing the text attributes: Color - wait, wait, wait (spinning beachball), wait, wait... changed. Then change the size - wait, wait, wait (spinning beachball), wait, wait... changed. Change police - wait, wait, wait (spinning beachball), wait, wait... changed. I'm sure you get the point. This is a completely unacceptable way to work! The same thing happens on my desktop and my laptop. Any advice would be really appreciated.

FOLLOW-UP: I must say that Adobe Support treats this very good question - Preran and Sonam thanks for you help! They tried to communicate with me the day after my post, but I was not available - make us an appointment for today and she called earlier. We did about troubleshooting an hour and found out it was a police problem. I use a police utility that had some sort of conflict with my system fonts. Once it has been resolved, Dreamweaver is now very fast. My advice to anyone having this problem would be to stop all non-system fonts and see if that helps. Keep the excellent work and support Adobe... this user absolutely appreciate it!
