BES Email test

Hi all

I have test BES with the BlackBerry device Simulator. The main goal of this test is email and mail retreival. I see a strange problem and I don't know if this is normal or not.

When I connect my Simulator via USB, Enterprise activation coup and my mail client is set up, I am able to see the records and the name of the mailbox on the Simulator. With the unit plugged in, I am able to send me an email and see it pop up in the Simulator.

I understand there are some limitations for the Simulator, but I think that if I disconnected the Simulator and sent another email, the next time I connect the Simulator, it must synchronize this email on the phone. Is this correct?

Currently mail go to the Simulator if it is connected through the same USB port if the message is sent. What I'm missing here? Something seems wrong with that. I need to have the possibility of messages get newly received when it connects via USB.

Any thoughts?

The Simulator is not supposed to act as a replacement of the device so that this behavior is probably expected, if the included emails arrive on a real device if it loses the coverage then returns.

I have a new email from BES so I had to wipe my blackberry account. How can I transfer my favorites from my old BES email browser?

I backed up my blackberry before wiping and I tried to restore only the browser bookmarks using the peripheral device select restore data and settings, but the bookmarks do not return.

Does anyone have any suggestions on that?

Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can provide.

Given that you have reactivated the BES. Fact you restore the backup first and then turn on the BES. If you have completed what you can has erased some of the infromation on the BES activation.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BES emails and Gmail on a single screen

I currently have the office via the BES emails on my blackberry 8310. Is it possible to configure mail messages display also email Gmail without touching the BES or whatever it is on exchange servers.

That I am consulting my Gmail via the browser and because of the fact that I'm in Germany, I can't use gmail on blackberry and mobile client.

    Any thoughts would be wonderful.

To configure the gmail account, you will need to connect to the site of your carrier/service provider BIS (email configuration) and add the gmail account. This way emails can be forwarded to your phone. The phone normally has a configuration of e-mail icon that allows you to do.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones can't find BES email desktop icon

    Hi all

I have set up five accounts on my first BB I bought a few weeks ago. I have icons for all BIS email accounts on my desktop, but I can't find an icon for my BES (by Rackspace) e-mail account. I think that this icon, if it is there, is called "Desktop". Initially, I realize that my work email did not have its own icon and e-mails to this show account only the "Messages" icon with all the other emails, sms, etc..

Then, yesterday, I was downloading of applications and reboot my BB and an icon for my BES email showed (has baptized "Desktop"). But he agains disappeared when I downloaded several apps and rebooted the phone. Now, I can not bring back the icon of the BES Office.

I tried to send service directories, but it didn't bring back the "Desktop" icon I browsed and clicked on virtually all things clickable on my BB, but couldn't find anything that would create this "Desktop" icon

Creates the BES email on the desktop icon that needs to be done when the account is set up, which was done between my computer and someone to Rackspace in my case? Or, is it possible for me now to create this icon?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

It is indeed there... the application Empower BES Inbox. This solution costs (per user), but does not require a change at the server level and affects only a single user.

I tried the free trial version, and it has worked great for me. But, before I had to pay, I convinced our BES admins to get the server solution as it comes free of charge, if it affects all users on this Server BES.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Z10 filters on BB10 - BES emails?

Hi all, I understand that there is no filter for personal emails on peripheral BB10, (IMAP, POP, GMAIL, etc.), this feature is also well for BES and is it a requirement for the version of BES to manage the latter on a BB10 device? If this function is available, is there a way to access from the device or link? Thank you!

If the Z10 device has a partition of work with balance, that this indicates a BES10 background, or this can be achieved with older versions of BES as well?

Ask that the user (or yourself?) to open its Hub > three points > settings > email accounts.

Tap the e-mail in question and at the bottom of the screen account > change.

Scroll to the bottom of this screen to CHANGE FOLDER SETTINGS.

You should be able to show what files sync it.

IF you do not see these settings, then this could be a matter of BES.

If it is a matter of BES, I'll ask a moderator to move this thread to the BES10 of this forum section.

  • BES integration tests

Hello, this is my first post and I hope that it is headed in the right forum. I'm working on software that will perform the archiving of e-mails. We have developed a MAPI wedge which is installed on the BES server to help the reconstruction of e-mail archvied stubs. Long story short, I'm trying to test some new changes with BES 5.0.3.

Part 1 of my tests is to create a functional environment and predictable BES that we test our shim of. I have not yet tried to install our software, just trying to get a test method implemented so I can spot any strange behavior.

Our 4.1.7 tests went somewhat along the lines of stop BES Services, send a message to an Exchange user, allow our archiving software strip the body and attachments of the message. Once it is in this State, test the reconstruction to start services and connect the Simulator as well as synchronization messages.

Suppose for a moment that our software works very well. I currently trying this with BES 5.0.3 and cannot get a BES predictiable behavior. I use the BlackBerry and MDS with BlackBerry Desktop Manager Simulator to activate and synchronize messages. I can activate the device very well, and when the Simulator is connected via USB all new messages I receive appear in my Inbox on the phone. This part is fast and works perfectly.

If I disconnect the USB Simulator and send a message, I understand the limitations of the Simulator, I need to plug it into USB to receive new messages, this worked well to 4.1.7, but in this case, all messages received by the mailbox at the time the Simulator was not connected via USB are never delivered.

The only time I get a message on the phone is when connected via USB. Is this correct?

Also since I took the time to create this account I'll ask a few other questions that were really annoys me.

Why the mailbox not to fill anything? After activation, you get an empty mailbox on your phone.

Are messages updated on the phone during a synchronization, or is static content, once the message has been downloaded to the phone?

What kind of role the product keys play with BES after installing the product? We bought two 5.0 key and I used one during the test 4.1.7 scrapped that and reused for 5.0, which causes problems of functionality?

Is there a newspaper, I can see that shows BES get the message and then pushing him to the device?

Don't the BES data of message for the store database or does all the configuration and user information?

Sorry for all the questions, I just really have no one to ask. If anyone can answer all those that would make my day.

    Thank you!

The BlackBerry smartphone Simulator must be connected via the USB port to send and receive messages using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.  It is the expected behavior.

I can answer some of your questions of BES.  I recommend ones I don't have in our forum of BES, where the real BES experts see him post.

By sync, are you referring to synchronize using the Desktop Manager?  If so, messages are not being updated or modified when you do this.  The device/Simulator requires direct contact with the BES to any change to happen (mark read/not read, etc...).  The message content may vary as you view the message.  Only the first 2 k of a message is sent to the device initially.  As read you the message, it downloads additional content in the background.

The SRP ID to a BES can be moved from one facility to the other, but can be active on a BES at a time.  If you run two BES with the same ID of SRP your SRP ID will be disabled at the level of the BlackBerry Infrastructure and you must contact RIM to re - activate.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry 8330 BES email missing icon

Initially, I place my Blackberry with Internet Web mail to my work Exchange account.  It worked and I got a message icon and an icon of electronic mail.  E-mail formwork happen instantly, but it would happen.

Then we installed the BES professional at work and set up the blackberry connect via BES.  I can get e-mail messages in my e-mail folder (icon) twice; Once instantly (from BES), and later I would get the same message on the Internet.  I then deleted the Internet e-mail account to stop the duplication; However, the end result is that the e-mail icon has disappeared leaving only the message icon.

How can I get the email from BES what icon reloaded?  I sent service books and re-recorded.  I also restored the internet account; However, BES traffic does not appear instantly as it did initially.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

I found my answer on in the following article in the knowledge base Blackberry "see KB03151 for more information on the role of the service books in the integration of email with BlackBerry Internet Service accounts. Due to the function of the average service books, there is no icon on the home screen of your BlackBerry smartphone to individual emails sent from a BlackBerry Enterprise Server. »

  • BlackBerry Smartphones between companies (BES) emails from personal emails (Yahoo)...

I have my business emails (BES) configured on my Storm.  In addition, I have Yahoo and Gmail configured on it.  There are therefore three folders "Messages" on the main screen for each email address.  My emails businesses going in the main folder of Messages.  However copies of all of my Yahoo and Gmail emails are appearing in the main folder of Messages as well - in addition to appear in their respective folders.

Is there a way to configure the storm where the emails Yahoo and Gmail DO NOT appear in the main folder of Messages?

  • BlackBerry smartphones is a useful BES account?

What does bring an individual user (non-self) the Blackberry Enterprise Server?

I have now nearly 8 hours of experience with a Tour 9630 on the VZ network. A [email protected] and a [email protected] e-mail accounts have been set up. There are two icons of e-mail on the first screen of BB (the one with only 6 icons); one for each e-mail account. When an email is sent by the ISP e-mail icon BB, it apparently really is sent via email to vzw.blackberry. The properties of the email received show the blackberry server.

RESPOND to the email to blackberry server will strike the computer at home or handheld? This instance has not yet been tested.

The blackberry e-mail account should be kept? It will add the feature with the activities of synchronization?

    TIA

Gets a BES user staff gets what any user of BES, email reconciliation is complete, sync contacts, calendar, tasks and memos.

All e-mails to and from the device at some point to travel through the RIM network, as well as your corporate network.

I do not recommend users to [email protected] accounts, mainly because you lose if you always change carriers, they accumulate spam for which there is really no protection, and because there are too many good free alterntaives (like gmail) that overcome these deficiencies.

  • I can get email directly from my ISP, but not through thunderbird. I have windows 7. I have 'repair file' on the but deleted items folder Inbox crashed.

I have Windows 7. I started with a problem to have my deleted emails in my Inbox in endangered and not to enter in my trash. So I went to the folder 'Properties' and did a 'repair file' on my trash folder - who worked to get the deleted emails back. Then I tried to bring back an e-mail in my Inbox but it is not. So I tried another. What was allowed either. Then I did an email test from another e-mail account, as I have in the Inbox for this account. The test e-mail never came through. So I went to my service provider online. The e-mail test came ok. Also, I noticed that under the option 'Subscribe' in my account problem, under 'Folder List' there is no record showing. The area is completely empty. While in my two other accounts, I have all my folders showing with ticked the boxes next to them. This is as far as I'm away.

I don't know what happened, but when I went to my e-mail this morning someone had added in my account again and this time it worked! Thank you who did this... very, very, very well!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not suppress email

    Everyone - I use 8830 (Verizon), c. 4.2.2.176, BES email.

I have 6 old messages (about 2 months) that will not delete little matter what I do. Battery pull did not.  My guy TI had a few suggestions, but none worked.  They also tried to get suggestions from the RIM for about 2 months and nothing yet.  Messages are missing for a long time of my Outlook, and they are not on the server of my company.

    Anyone have any ideas?

The only suggestion I have not tried is to destroy everything on the BB and restore from a backup, but I hesitate to do - fear that I that either will get everything back, or he will get 6 messages again.

    Thank you.

I did the "before delete" - does not work.  When I try to delete one (or all) messages, there is no error message - everything seems 'normal', but they do not go far.

    I'll try your #2.  Can't hurt.
