Mick Murphy - Microsoft partner Windows 7 Professional - impossible to pass the beta Office 07 to 2010. Hello I came here looking for help with a problem I had. I run Windows 7 Professional 32-bit and I installed Office home and Student 2007. It does not come with the editor and I need a quick project so I downloaded the beta of Office 2010. The problem I've been is I chose the upgrade (previous versions of Office) during the installation for the beta version, it starts to install and gets all the way to the end and then after like 5 or 10 minutes sitting at the end (full progress bar), it starts to pull on this error: "Error 1712: a required file to restore your computer to a previous State could not be found." He said something like that and it just repeating me it again and again until I have to cancel Setup. I looked at other places where the solutions. I tried the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to try to remove some 2010 can be run in when installing it is. I have redownloaded both Setup and delete all the files of 2010 and the registry keys that have been left behind and I always get this error when you try to upgrade. I hope you can help out me. Thank you! Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site. 1. you should not spend 2007 a beta of 2010. The program may have had this option, but you shouldn't take it. 2. actually, I think that you should uninstall your 2007 before you install the BETA 2010 version. 3. never use a BETA version on a production machine (only in a test environment), and if you don't have a test computer, so I would be very cautious about installing a Beta version on your machine. Have you tried to uninstall all versions of Microsoft Office and then reboot first before to perform one set up again? I had a few problems with the initial installation 2 times and finally understood why (firewall, duh!). In any case, I have 3 registration keys, I tried to get a 3rd, it gave me an error while it was almost finished to install, telling me he had a problem with the key, as I entered. I have already run the utility to remove all traces of installs. Should I go to the 'My account' and try redownloading and one of them (previous attempts with the trial keys) and if so, only one, first one or the more recent? I tried with the last being when he gave me the error message. Thank you! Look at the following KB:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2258121> Word documents corrupt after the installation of Microsoft Office 2010. Original title: problems after installation of Office 2010 Hi all... Installed 2010 using SCCM 2,000 desktop computers. After installation I had about 50 clients with different problems, and the only solution I have found so far is to delete and recreate the user profile. To be more precise, some clients when you open a word document have an error advising the document is corrupted and running document recovery tool. This is followed by an error and you have the option to send to MS or not. No matter what you select documents recovery starts to recover and then throws to the top of the same mistake. This happens three times with the same messages whether to send. Word closes and if you try to reopen the same doc the process is exactly the same thing. Documents can be on a server share or local hard disk. Some documents are opened without problem. If I disconnect the client, and log back on with any other account, the document opens fine. After the deletion and re-creation of the profile of users, documents open without error. We also use groupwise to email (urghh) and the same customers don't have any address book once the office install. After the deletion and re-creation of the profile, the address book also works OK. On the PC, the only change was the installation of Office 2010 and errors have appeared that immediately after deployment. All PC are patches and A / V is trend (latest updates.)
