Bishop Smartphones BB 8520 blackBerry desktop software requests for unblocking code connection

I want my wife to backup is unlocked 8520 (tmobile running). Her friend tried to install an app some time ago (I don't know the details) and the result was it's the blackberry all deleted data instead. Thought I would setup the software of BB (for Win7) Office Manager but when connected it calls for the "unlock code". Wifey is scared s - less than at the time when I enter the unlock code, the bb will destroy itself again. And, of course, I don't want to be between it and the phone if that were to happen ;-). Can someone tell if it is safe to proceed? Or, if not (or if questionable), is there another way to backup/restore of the data on the phone? She has no data plan, btw. $30 / mo tmobile talk/text only is sufficient for its application.
Thanks much for any help!

Hello and welcome to the community!

Looks like she had a locking device assigned to his BB password. When it is in place, it is required when connecting to the PC to do something with this BB at all. So, since the PC keyboard, you must enter the correct password that customarily used to unlock his BB on his keyboard. If, given the difference in keyboards... a lot of people think that, on their BB, they hit some specific characters for their passwords when their password is something completely different... in fact, it's the characters of the password that are needed, not only the physical of the BB pressed keyboard keys (ALT and control keys using change as a result of the BB keyboard character).

If you enter it's bad, it should say, as well as tell you how much you have left the attempts (usually there are 10 attempts). If this happens, then you can always untether and enter the password on the BB keyboard (they are the same counter), closely observe can see what are the actual password characters.

Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones will be Blackberry Desktop software work on a Mac under El Capitan?

Hello, I am completely new to BBs and have just received a Bold 9790 I'm happening to synchronize with my Contacts, etc., but it doesn't seem to work with the software.

If I select USB key when you are prompted, he IS recognized as a USB key, so there seems to be no problem with the connection.

The software does not launch automatically, even if that is selected in the preferences, and if I manually run the Blackberry Desktop software it won't do anything because he doesn't seem to know that there is a BB connected.

If the software does not work I will have to try to synchronize another way I guess? This is the contacts I wanted especially well.

Hope that there is someone out there that can help you...

Thank you. Although I understand the requirement for end of LIFE, it can leave me and the other a backup dilemma. Fortunately, I have an iMAc under Snow Leopard where I can still use the BB Desktop Manager - but what of everyone? At least BB may provide another way to backup critical information such as Contacts. It almost seems a sneaky way to tell us to get rid of our older BB phones, but still very useful.

  • Calendar of Smartphones not installed blackBerry Desktop software

    Hello

I installed the software from the website of blackberry, but the calendar is not installed to sync.  How can I solve this problem.  I have a blackberry bold 9780 and my camera on my phone software is up to date?

    Concerning

Hi and welcome to the forums!

It is not a calendar in the Desktop Manager software.

Desktop software manager can best be described as an interface between your desktop and your Blackberry 9780. Desktop Manager when it is used to synchronize your personal data reads your device (calendar, notes, contacts, tasks) and reads the same data on your PC by using the personal information manager. (PIM) Some examples of PC PIM are ex: (MS Outlook, Yahoo, Lotus Notes, etc.)

If please, after return and tell us what kind of PC you are using and what version of operating system is installed.

He must then understand nor what type of PIM serves you (compatibility issues between versions of the Desktop Manager and a few PIMS.)

If indeed you are not currently using a PIM on your PC let us know your exact configuration and we can suggest workarounds.

    Sound good?

  • BlackBerry smartphone Versions of Blackberry Desktop software

On my Imac its 2.3.1 (build 5) and when I ask to update it says it's later.

On my macbook Air its 2.4 (build 18) also later - I just downloaded it yesterday.

    They can't both be later.

When I search here on backup and restore issues, the responses refer to versions 6 and 7.  Please explain.

I have it sorted by removing the NVA 2.3.1 of the Imac, as it no longer works and installing 2.4 build 18 which is the latest Mac one.  Why there will be no update when prompted is a mystery - bad programming!

The references of the version 6 and 7 appear to be associated with windows and gives something to this topic?

With worm 2.4 on Mac now connects my phone and I was able to save successfully.

Hope this helps others who may be having problems in this area.

  • Problem of Smartphones blackBerry Blackberry Desktop Software 4.1 uninstallation

I support managers at my office and their Blackberry.  They all use the Blackberry Desktop Software to synchronize with MS Outlook accounts.  I had to give them a more updated version of the desktop software.  I tried to remove the version 4.1 on a particular computer, and he keeps asking for the disk.  (which I did not)  I tried to uninstall by deleting the registry keys associated with Blackberry and files in windows (Research in Motion etc...)  When I installed the version 4.3 on the computer, to the end that he asked for the disc for 4.1 yet.  I cancelled and completed the installation.  I rebooted several times and recorded the dll.  4.3 software will synchronize the Blackberry with the office, however, it appears with a dialog box requesting the cd whenever it syncs.  I need to stop this.  Can someone please?

    Thank you!

    EDIT: Remove personal information

I was finally able to uninstall 4.1.  Fortunately, I tracked down someone who actually had the 4.1 software installation.  Thanks for all your help. I don't know the combination of measures and to find the software 4.1 is what solved the problem.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Desktop Software said 'connection '.

I'm trying to back up my blackberry and it keeps saying for the last 30 minutes connecting to the right of the bottom of the screen.  It shows my camera but I can't click on the tab now backup and when I go to configure settings it tells me to connect a device.

Can someone tell me what is happening?

I currently have a "App Error 200" on my screen, and I'm trying to get rid of... is that may impact my connection? and I can do/use to get rid of him, if I can't access my blackberry desktop software?

I have the blackberry bold 9900

You will not be able to backup of the device with the app error 200 appearing.

You should start your BlackBerry in Mode safe and remove all third-party apps or themes that you could add, starting with the most recent added, first of all.

Article ID: KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode

Then, on the BlackBerry, click Options > device > application management and remove these apps, you think that could be the culprit.

Restart the BlackBerry again and see if the error app has disappeared.

  • Smartphones BlackBerry 8520 blackBerry Desktop Manager

    Hi all

I run Windows XP Pro SP3. I am the user or owner Blackbery Curve 8520. Manager of office installed on my computer is 6.0.1.18. I see I see an update to version 6.0.2.44. However, I want to assure you that this update will be usable for BB Curve 8520 because because I transferred photos from another handset for BB some time ago and it is still visible in the Desktop Manager.  This handset was BB Curve 9300.

I wonder if the above update is specifically for BB Curve 9300 or my BB Curve 8520.

Your kind comments and/or suggestions or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanking you,

    standeb

No worries. In General, you always want to stay with the latest updates, they can add new features or improvements in safety, but in this case, if you do not buy a PlayBook anytime soon, then you need not to feel rushed. It won't hurt to leave your current version of BlackBerry Desktop Software installed, and it won't hurt to upgrade.

If you do not upgrade, don't worry, all your previous backups and files are kept. The only thing that can happen is that you might need to redo your synchronization settings.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones XP Pro on computer will not open Blackberry Desktop software

I was unable to sync my BlackberryTour with Outlook 2010. We run XP Pro as operating system on the computer in question. Different versions of Blackberry Desktop software did not help. They will open the BB Desktop Software (Version 5.0) but will not sync to Outlook 2010 or the BB software charge apparently successfully, but does not open on the computer (Version 7.1). My husband says that he tried in vain all BB Office between the two versions. Any ideas of what to try?

Well, my problem is solved, thanks to the Blackberry phone support Saturday night. I finally gave up my own and Verizon called and they hooked me up with the support of Blackberry, and the wonderful technician found my problem.

While they inspected the specification more carefully, I had already realized that although the original desktop provided with my tour software open on my desk, it is not compatible with Outlook 2010. So, who was never going to work for synchronization. Therefore, I uninstalled and deleted this software version (5.0, I think?) of my computer.

Yet once I downloaded Blackberry Desktop 7.1 software, and even once, it simply does not open on my desk. (I went through the download process, installation, uninstallation and removal and resettlement at least three times). He would always give me a message "installed successfully". But when I clicked on the icon on the desktop, it would show the small icon of hourglass for a fraction of a second, and then, nothing is more product.

When I'm on the phone with Blackberry tech representative, she was beautiful. We have implemented a 'meeting' so that she could see my computer screen with me. She had me uninstall version 7.1 again, and re-upload it and re - install it while she could be sure it was done correctly, but of course we got the same result I had been do - it would not start.

We looked around a few things, and then she had me click 'Properties' of the Blackberry Desktop 7.1 software (I think that it's where we were) and don't you know, somehow or another a checkbox was marked for the software running in a 'Windows 95 compatibility mode. Of course that WE have checked this box, we just re downloaded and installed the software.  So we unchecked the box, then the desktop software open immediately and perfectly and I was able to sync with Outlook 2010. How strange is that?

I had decided that the problem SHOULD be something like a framework, because I did everything properly to download and install the software, and Blackberry says that it is compatible with Outlook 2010 and XP Pro, so it MUST have worked. But I didn't know where to look for incorrect setting and do not think I know if I saw him, necessarily.

So Bravo for the technician to support for Blackberry phones and thank you, too, for your response.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BlackBerry Desktop Software could not validate your update to the BlackBerry device...

Hello. I had my blackberry for a little over a year. It's a Bold 9650. After I have updated to OS 6, everything was going fine except for the fact that I have lost password Mole and Brick Breaker. Small problems, I know. But when the day consists of a lot of waiting around, believe me, these two helps. in any case, I looked on various forum how to recover them and more expected to open the Fund Manager and go to the list of applications and simply check out these two games and to update. I did that, but when I went to update, I had to wait a while because he loaded [yes I use a mac], and then this message pop up would be "BlackBerry Desktop Software doesn't have to validate your device BlackBerry - abandonment update install due to failure of the validation.» Some packages contained unsatisfactory dependencies. "So now I can't update my phone at all with anything. What can I do to solve this problem without doing a full cleaning [which I don't know how do either, I see a lot of people talking about it]? I just want to be able to update my phone.

    Hey acabungc,

Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

This error is caused by a third-party application on the BlackBerry. This application will need to be removed and then you can re-installed games.

To find out which application is causing the problem go to/Library/Application Support / BlackBerryDesktop / Logs and open the daily log on the Mac.

And you will find a line in the newspaper that said: abandonment of the install because of unmet dependencies for packages: ((Application name))

That lists the name of the application.  Then you can remove this application from BlackBerry.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
