Bit Locker drive appears as unallocated space

Recently, I've upgraded to windows 10. In a few minutes, my system crashed and a blue screen came up saying "driver missing...". »

I installed windows 7 ultimate 64-bit again after formatting my C drive.

Now the partition I had encrypted with BitLocker is not displayed in 'My computer', but when I check in the management of the reader, the encrypted partition is shown without a drive letter, such as unallocated space. The space is exactly the size of the encrypted partition. Don't see no correct answer anywhere, I wanted to format the partition, and bang, an error message comes up saying "not enough space in the player (s)" the 200 GB juice goes here doing nothing, prevents me from doing whatever it is no more.

Got tired of searching online for a solution and the endless discussions on the tech forum has been futile.  If anyone knows what that means, let me know.   Please, I beg you.

I try to enable BitLocker on my laptop, and apparentlym my drive is misconfigured. I'm trying to get a copy of the drive preparation tool to help me, but I can't find a version compatible with Windws Vista Enterprise SP2. Knowledge Base article explains two ways to get the tool - windows update help and by following this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=320B9AA9-47E8-44F9-B8D0-4D7D6A75ADD0 - and none of these work.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no such thing as an automated tool compatible with SP2, and I'm not 100% clear on what to do to prepare the drive manually. I've got 20 GB unallocated disk main HARD outside the system partition and the partition of storage, but I want to know what to do before you start fiddling around with it. I know that the BitLocker boot partition must have a size of at least 1500, and it should be active, but what files need to be on it so that BitLocker to run? What else do I need to do before I can activate BitLocker?

  • How to extend my drive C use unallocated space on my drive hard if the option "extend volume" is grayed out?

I'm trying to erase my drives and have a clean reinstall of Windows 7. Endless hedges have attempted to quit of me, whose latest is my drive C is not able to use the unallocated space that was once my D drive (now deleted).

I am interested in disk management and you can see my drive C, BDEDrive (I don't know what it is and can't get a straight answer on it as of yet), unallocated and free space (I do not understand the difference between space and unallocated space) in that order.

I want a big C 1 TB drive, but can't seem to extend the C drive currently because it is grayed out.

    SOLVED!

    [for reference]
It's also easy to move the startup information in the BDEDrive and giving the computer reboot, and then delete the BDEDrive. After that, the free space can be deleted (it becomes unallocated) and all unallocated space can be swallowed up by the C drive now that the option "Extend Volume" became available.

  • Extend a logical drive with the unallocated space

    Hello

I have windows 7 Home premium on the 320 GB hard drive.
I have illustrated on the picture [link] Partitionas
Now I can extend the C: partition with unallocated 62 GB space, but I can't increase my D: partition. Extend the option is disable on the property of the D: drive.
I have gained 62GB C: drive by shrinking it. I can use it to increase the C: drive (which is the opposite of my approach), but I can't use it to D: drive.

    Hello

The extension of the D drive is not possible for the space allocated, created to the left.
But can be made to the C drive, which is to the left of the unallocated space.

Sir, I forgot my password and the big question is, I have protected the recovery key into my USB and coincidentally my USB drive is now formatted. So, please help me.

When you encrypted data that you wanted to make sure that no one could read it unless he had the key to the password and recovery. Sorry to say but this is exaclty what you have: no key, no access. That's what you wanted.

  • How to merge the C drive and unallocated space

I recently had a new 1 TB HDD in my count and then I had to download Windows XP Pro as my old hard drive crashed. In under disk 0 disk management, I (c :)) 128.00 GB and to the right, I have not allocated 803,52 GB.)  I'm not sure how it happened.  I guess that something I had put on Windows XP Pro.

My question is that I can combine the two together.  The C drive and the unallocated space.  There are no other disks shown but C.  Thanks Reta

It happened because you have installed a copy of "gold" Windows XP, (an original version without a service pack).  Released as Windows XP did not support 48-bit LBA so it truncated the disc to 137 GB (128 GB binary) and the rest of the unallocated disk, slipstreaming of service packs for the Windows XP CD would have allowed windows to correctly see the entire disk.  The only way to solve this problem now is to use a third-party partititionneur.  You can use the free trial version of BootItNG to merge partitions.  You do not need to install BootItNG, when you get to the Setup screen simply cancel the installation and you will enter the maintenance mode where you will be able to partition work.

  • Drive external hard will appear in disk with unallocated space management

I pulled a hard drive of a computer that I could not get to the job and installed in a case connected to a working computer and external (to pull the data off the drive until I did something drastic).  The USB mass storage device appears in the Device Manager as works fine but disk management displays the hard drive to be unallocated.  How can I access the data?  If I partition, does it wipe the disc?

Thank you for your helpful suggestions.

Well you were right - it wouldn't boot.  But I found the menu of the manufacturer and has managed to erase the partition table and master boot record and join the system recovery program.

And thanks for the response - it's good to know there are knowledgeable people on willing to help when you're frustrated working on windows _.

  • How to restore after deleting a partition in unallocated space on my hard drive?

HI, I have recently removed a partition of my hard drive on windows Vista Home Basic. I removed it because I needed to find the hard drive space on the main user profile.

I found, after following the instructions on how to remove the partition that the partition has been deleted, but the space was not available for use on the main user.

I couldn't find any information on how to restore the space unallocated on the C: drive, so if there is someone out there who can help me, I'd appreciate the help! : o).

    Hi geddron1976,

Is "unallocated" space right next to the C: partition, that is to the right of the C: partition? If yes go to control panel and click the Administrative Tools icon. In the Administrative Tools window, click computer management. In the window of computer managgement, click on disk management and you will then see a view of your disks. Click right on your C: drive, and in the menu drop-down, select "Extend Volume".  A wizard will appear. In the 'select amount of space in MB' type the amount sdpace you want to extend the partition. If you want this then let the total in the State. Now, click Next, followed by the finished product. The c: drive should now be extended in your unallocated space.

If the C: partition is 'no' right next to the unallocated space, then you will not be able to extend the partition - not with the windows disk in any case management application. To do this you will need a third party application of partitioning, it is also a little more complex.

  • How can I remove bit locker option from my hard drive?

I have a password on one of my local hard drives using bit locker. now, I want to remove this password. How can I remove tht?

    Hi HaBiB JHoN,

    1. what operating system is installed on the computer?
    2. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1
The best way to remove BitLocker on windows 7 32-bit is to follow the following steps.
    a. click on start
    b. click Control Panel
    c. whereas the Control Panel, find the Bitlocker Drive Encryption icon, click on it
    d. here you will see all the partitions on your hard disk and their encryption status, whether encrypted or not.
    e. that is encrypted, you will find an option to turn off bitlocker. Click on it and wait for the machine to decrypt.

    Method 2
To prevent losing access to drives protected by BitLocker in case of failure of the TPM secure, forgotten passwords or loss of smart cards or USB keys, it is important that you have a way for administrators to access to BitLocker drives. BitLocker supports the following methods to retrieve access to protected drives:

    a. recovery key or recovery password. You can use a BitLocker recovery password or a recovery key. If a BitLocker key is not available, as in the case of a missing SmartCard or forgotten user password, a 48-digit recovery password can be used to unlock the protected drive. In place of a password, a recovery key which has been stored in a file on a removable media such as a USB flash drive, can also be used to unlock the protected drive.

    b. backup key in Active Directory Domain Services. Password recovering BitLocker can be stored in Active Directory Domain Services. This allows administrators, such as the personal assistant of office help users retrieve drives protected by BitLocker when they have forgotten or misplaced their recovery password.

    c. data recovery agent. A data recovery agent is the person designated as a system administrator, who can use his administrative credentials to unlock BitLocker-protected drives. BitLocker is not configured with the default data recovery agents, neither data recovery agents are enabled by default. They must be enabled and configured by using Group Policy.
