Black screen during the launch of Apple Diagnostics

Hi people,

my end of 2013 Mac Pro 6.1 (OSX 10.10.5) takes unusually long to start (a few minutes) since a few days ago.

Verbose mode must be terribly long to load the boot.efi

So the first step for me is to run the Diagnostics by Apple to exclude any material based questions.

But neither pressing "D", nor the network launch base "Alt + D' Apple Diagnostics tool.

It gives me just a black screen, no matter how many times I press on and wait.

The monitor is 'active', so some sort of signal goes off, it's just black.

Does anyone have an idea what is the cause and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance

Try the following:

-Try to reset memory NVRAM/PRAM and SMC

MacIntel: Reset of the controller (SMC) system management

https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201295

Subject of memory NVRAM and PRAM

https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204063

-Then disconnect everything except the mouse, keyboard, monitor Ethernet (if used) and starting with the D button depressed power. Best is to use a wired keyboard.

AMC introduced after June 2013 use Diagnostics of the Apple, not Apple Hardware test

Apple Diagnostics using - Apple Support

If you can run diagnostics that would indicate a hardware problem with the Mac

  • Black screen during the call I phone 6 more

BBlack screen while on a call to the phone I 6 more

The screen is supposed to close during a call. As soon as you press it against your ear, the proximity sensor is turning off screen, in order to avoid "plays the numbering" or similar effects.

If the screen is not active as soon as you lift the phone to your ear, check if the proximity on the top of the screen sensor is not covered by a protective film or the case, if you use one.

Have you ever tried to force reboot the phone by holding down the button sleep and home for 10 seconds, until the Apple logo comes back again?

You won't lose data by resetting, but it can cure a few glitches.

To make sure that it is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any data backup later. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone.

If the phone works again, restore the last backup. If the problem returns, the data backup contains damaged data, causing your issues.

If this still does not work after that, get the phone checked for hardware problems by visiting an Apple store or Apple authorized service next to your site provider.

You run a registry cleaner a week? You play with fire. You
    should never run it.

Registry cleaning programs are all snake oil. Cleaning of the
registration is not necessary and is dangerous. Let alone register and
do not use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and
What software record cleaning suppliers are trying to convince you,
have unused registry entries is not really make you hurt.
The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner by mistake
delete an entry you need is much greater than any potential benefit
    It can have.

    and also

Let me stress that neither me nor anyone else who warns the
use of registry cleaners never said that they always cause
problems. If they have always caused problems, they would disappear from
the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry
cleaner and never had a problem with it.

The problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it
the risk of a significant problem. And since there is no
benefits of using a registry cleaner, running that risk is a very bad
    good deal.

I just ran the last update for my iPad and now it just continuously reboots to the black screen with the Apple Logo. I left plugged in all night and still no change. Hard restarting does not help, neither do not connect the unit to aMacBookPro. When I do this, iTunes complains that it can not connect because the iPad 'expires '. Now it is disconnected, but I can't turn it off. Even close the lid will not extinguish it. Any ideas?

Try the following. It seems yo may have to let the battery drain is completely:

    - iOS: do not respond or does not light

-Also try DFU mode recovery mode post-test

-If failed and that you cannot completely turn completely the iOS device, leave the battery to drain completely. After loading a hour repeat the foregoing.

    -Try a different cable

If your iPhone 6 alternates between black screens and the Apple logo, this could be a problem that can be fixed by wiping your iPhone to factory settings. It is difficult to tell if it s a defective GPU or the internal laptop display.
You can try to connect an external monitor to the laptop to check if something appears on the second monitor.

If you see any picture or anything else so I guess that the graphics card is dead.
This could be the case value because the GPU is fixed on the Board and that's why the whole motherboard replacement would be necessary.

Seems you have to reach a point of service authorized in your country for the control of the laptop and the diagnosis of the error.

If the warranty is valid everything should be done for free!

  • Satellite M70 - black screen after the installation of recovery

So far, what I did is put in the Recovery DVD - ROM product. Then when my computer restarts I was invited to restore my computer failing and said. After that he went through this process, that he told me to remove the disc that I did. Now he only get a black screen after the Toshiba screen that gives me options f2 for Setup and f12 for options.

I don't know what to do now to make my laptop works again. Help, please.

    Hi Zach_1,

Have you tried to launch the installation of recovery again? Maybe that something was wrong during the first installation, it might have arrived
Then retry the recovery facility and see what happens.

If it doesn't work you should try a normal Microsoft disk so determine if the problem is related to hardware or recovery disk.

  • iPhone 7 more stuck on black screen with the spinning wheel

How can I fix it? I tried to reset, go into DFU mode, recover from iTunes. Nothing works. I can't use iTunes because he wants me to grant access from my iPhone is not responding. Hello! I think that I may have a solution to our problem of the black screen with the circle of rotation.

I came across this post today because my iPhone all nine 7 (which I've upgraded to the latest ios) also got stuck on a black screen with the circle of rotation. I tried to update some of my apps, when suddenly the screen froze. I clicked once on the home button and the screen become black with the subsequent appearance of the circle of rotation.

I have tried everything - simultaneously press the home button and power (does not work). connected to itunes to do a restore (it won't let me not because my "find my iPhone" was turned on - but I could not turn off because my phone was insensitive).

In any case, a very useful Mr. Damon (Senior Advisor to Apple) helped me via chat to solve the problem.

    Here's what I did:

    1. make sure that your iPhone is disconnected from the socket or the computer.

    2. hold the POWER button and the VOLUME DOWN button at the same TIME. If it works, the screen should turn off almost immediately.

    3. connect your iPhone to the computer. (when I have connected to the computer, my iPhone automatically on and was ready to be reused).

The steps below are for those whose iPhones did not turn with the above steps. The following steps are designed to allow you to disable remote your 'find my iPhone', so you can do a manual restore from iTunes.

    4. go to www.icloud.com.

    5. click on Find iPhone

    6. given that the phone is turned off already, he won't be able to find it. On the top bar, click DEVICES.

    7. click on your iPhone.

    8. click on "delete account".

    9. go into your itunes and do a restore.

I did have to do steps 4 to 9 more, because as I said, my iPhone automatically activated after step 3.

This really worked for me. I hope this works for everyone else too! Have a great day!

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 running with Windows Vista.  Intermittently, he falls down with a black screen provides the following information:

To the point where I have indicated the asterisk above, it has a slash which rotates in a circular motion.

My thought is that it's either the Windows code is corrupted or is a hardware failure.  While I am not positive, I feel that it occurs when Internet Explorer is used.   System Restore is not enabled on this computer, so this isn't an option.  Can someone help me understand this means and how I could fix this?  I know that will later Windows version can solve it, but this isn't the answer I'm looking for.  Thank you

Attempt to initialize the network is not a 'possible', it is certain that your PC is doing exactly this depending on your BIOS settings. In addition, she tries the network initialization after already trying to start on an optical disc. The two attempts at device boot doesn't have, in all likelihood after having already failed the boot from the hard drive. There is no message to indicate than an attempt to boot to the hard drive, or he leaves the screen too fast to see you or you did not save it in your original post.

My advice on the diagnosis is based on the studied the real model of your PC, not generic advice for all Dell PC with Vista installed.

    1. Your computer has already finished POST (Power O n Self TEST) otherwise you wouldn't see any attempt to start at all.
    2. You've already provided specific error messages.
    3. I have already advised the best and most approriate diagnostics for your PC.
    4. Your PC will not start in any mode if it becomes a default 'hard', rather than the intermittent fault means your original message. Start in any mode, you can and make a backup as soon as possible.
    5. Unless these recent changes include adjustments to the BIOS settings, they are irrelevant, that he is a boot failure which can be caused by anything done under Vista.
    6. Removing the external devices is never a bad step of troubleshooting if you encounter problems. I doubt it will help in this instance, but it will not hurt to try, especially if they are peripheral bootable.
    7. Startup Repair will not solve a hardware problem (by far the most likley scenario).
    8. System Restore is not usable unless you can actually start to Vista and it's never going to treat problems of material.
    9. IMO, this is not a software issue. See also point 4.
    10. If you have a hard drive failure, it is not recommended to try to reinstall the operating system. First of all prove that the hard drive is OK as advised before trying to re-setup. In addition, if you can, back up your data before reinstalling the operating system. In all likelihood, that's what you have to do but for a hard drive replacement.

I repeat that a failing or failed hard drive is the most likely scenario. Other more distant possibilities include

    • A failed or failing disk controller (almost certainly on the motherboard)
    • Boot from the hard drive is disabled in the BIOS (highly unlikely if this anomaly is intermittent)
    • Some sort of weird for the failure of the BIOS
    • Option 3 mentioned in the previous post (unlikely unless your PC has been internally inspected/modified or subject to vibration displacement/hitting more/remove etc..)
  • Vista black screen after the loading bar

I have the problem that I am assuming that almost all users of Windows Vista have probably experiences - the black screen with the white cursor lonely after the loading bar 'Microsoft Corporation'. Here are the steps that I tried to solve the problem, but have not yet worked:

    • With the help of "last known good configuration" brings back me to the screen and the white slider
    • Go into safe mode which brings back me to the screen and the cursor
    • Activate the video mode low resolution which brings back me to the black screen and a cursor
    • Using Ctrl + SHIFT + ESC to appear during the black screen Task Manager
    • CTRL + Alt + Delete does not work on the black screen
    • I do not have access to the installation CD, as it was preinstalled on the computer

Yes, as usual, what happened after a windows update - I really should stop waiting for something good to these updates.

I'm under the original version of Vista Home Premium without service pack - these caused a similar problem, but at least I was able to return the system restore.

Thank you in advance, I know how useful these forums can be.

Yes, a new installation of Windows 7 was the way for me. Lucky he composed a back all my documents, however. Thanks for the help all. Unfortunately I have no where near more closely to solve the problem, then when I started.
