  OK, so when I start my computer, it loads ok until it reaches the windows loading screen then the screen goes black. I can see the good mouse but that's all. I can also spam the 'shift' key and hear the sound of the keys sticky so I consist the computer is simply not exposed. IV looked on the web and say safemode works but it doesn't. IV tried to do a Factory Reset, but I'm not 100% sure how. If nothing else there can you please help me do this. I have a HP desktop computer.

  To restore your system check with support of the manufacturer of the system as they all have their own methods.
  (See InPlace upgrade / repair Installation and recovery following Options.)

  You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer or an external hard drive enclosure, then
  saving them. Do this using several methods to redundantly. Of course, a real computer
  Shop or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

  You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
  Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click

  Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
  CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then

  by tapping F8 as you start several times.

I can load the Task Manager and access the internet. tried to go to the SafeMode to start with f8, but several attempts failed. I updated my graphics driver from AMD today and same black screen.   Boot the computer normally and log.

  Black screen, old the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.

  Select Task Manager.

  Click on file and select the new task.

  Type rstrui - also enter a tick in the box for "create this task with administrative privileges" - and click on Ok.

  Have you tried to launch the installation of recovery again? Maybe that something was wrong during the first installation, it might have arrived
  Then retry the recovery facility and see what happens.

  If it doesn't work you should try a normal Microsoft disk so determine if the problem is related to hardware or recovery disk.

  Hi, I have a HP Pavilion DV7 notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it. A problem I've noticed is that, once I connect to windows during a boot, the screen is black for about 1-2 minutes. After awhile, explorer.exe would with desktop, taskbar and icons. I am concerned about this 1 to 2 minutes of black screen after the boot as it did not exist previously. I know I have options such as restoring the computer laptop back to the default state, or by using the system restore. However, I don't want to lose all my stuff, and with respect to the restoration of the system, I'm not sure when the problem happening, as it was some time ago.   You will need to login using the method of trial and error. Please uncheck all of the MSCONFIG Startup tab and restart the system. If the black screen issue is resolved, then check out an application every time and restart the system. This will help you to identify the program interfere.

  No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
  are a few others.

  You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
  Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
  Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

  I have a pc HP G60 with Windows Vista. After the updated pc, I couldn't use Google Chrome (it crashed and said 'Whoa Google Chrome has stopped working') after reading a few posts, I decided to restore the pc. So once I did this it worked fine. The next day Chrome stopped working again and not so my Mozilla Firefox (it says THAT XPCOM is not found) and I think it was because as I closed the previous night there are more updates running on the computer. So I restored around 4 or 5 times and the last time I have done that and restarted the computer, that he was really a lot of time with a black with just the mouse screen shows so I shut it down by pressing the power down button (bad I know). Now, whenever I turn it on, you can see the Windows loading screen with the small bars at the bottom and then there is a black screen with white text, requesting that the operating mode (safe mode, normal mode, etc.) and then after I decided to use it says loading files or something like that in the white text then just a bunch of names to run it on the screen. However, after that then it goes to a black screen with only the mouse showing. Someone knows how to fix this?   Good so my computer starts freezing at random when I wear random programs so would simply uninstall and reinstall them and no problem.  Then another program would freeze whenever it was opened until finally after what a freezing of the computer screen would be black every time at startup.  I tried holding F8 to boot into safe mode but no luck.  When I want Ctrl + alt + delete the computer restarts and after pressing F8, I get the Start Menu.  I try and select options in the start menu, but you get a black screen with a mouse or the option will work, then I'll get to the screen with the yellow bars indicating that Microsoft load, then a black screen.  My theory on the problem is I have a scratched or damaged hard drive, and it's because I remember my computer falling out of my bed (wood) and the problems started shortly after.  If someone has any ideas as to fix it would be great.  I'm sol at the moment because I am in China for the summer and speak Chinese, so I doubt I can get no help here.  Also if it is a hard drive problem anyone would be able to tell if it's my main hard drive which is upward or my hard drive partitioned.  I know that I have a partitioned hard drive that allows me to format my hard drive and reload windows without a boot disk.  If the hard disk is damaged I'm really screwed, otherwise I probably install a new hard drive for main myself.  Thanks again for any help!

  You have two Partitions on the hard drive of one; a partition that contains the operating system, the other the recovery Partition to back to factory settings...

  TAP F8, you normally don't take it no, to enter safe mode.

  Hello everyone, as you can see by the title I get black screen after loading of Windows at the same time as everything else works (hard drive of fans lights and sounds). I've tried several things, I read on troubleshooting thread, memory, diagnosis, diagnosis of hard drive, delete and change put the Rams, disconnect the battery and ac and keep the power button for 30secs hurry the ac without the battery but nothing. I also tried to use a monitor with hdmi cable but I get a blue screen when I try with the monitor. Also what happens during a format so I can't even through safe mode. IM really waiting for your answers and in the hope of a solution. Thanks in advance!

  Just because you use the key F11 to restore to factory does not mean that the recovery partition itself is not altered.

  Suggest you try instead the recovery discs or take it to the shop for advanced diagnostics.

  After I log in after departure upward, the screen will Dim and does not change.

  About 2 weeks ago, my wife had the icons on the home screen turn into white shadows and then the next start the computer it started properly (I guess), but once he spent the home screen to his profile (desktop) the screen went black. The mouse pointer is still on the screen and can be moved, but there is no bottom. If you Ctrl-alt-del the good screen comes up with the correct graphics. I tried to restore to an earlier date without result. She said that there was an update to adobe that it can ar may not have executed before the problem. I also tried last good configuration known without help. If I boot in the Safemode with networking, I have a black background, but the desktop icons are restored to normal. Don't want to run in safe mode for always. The ulitimate in Vista is an upgrade and not the version full and will not fix the problem.

  You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel - device
  Manager - graphics card - Double click on - driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - then right click
  on devices and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

  Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
  CTRL + ALT + DELETE and on the tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - then
  on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is reached
  by tapping F8 as you start several times.

  Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all patch is usually on a base hit or miss.
  That there is no information on a black screen as it is on a blue screen just adds to the
  Difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect. You can try a
  Google to see the proposed repairs, whom some have worked however these cover a wide
  field efforts.

  You have a Vista disk? You can try restoring the system to it. If you don't have the disks your
