Black screen of Studio 1557

Hi all. I have a problem with my 4 years old computer laptop dell studio 1557... It happened one day that, while I was with her, the screen (maybe for overheating problems) turned completely black, then I've liquidated it down. Now when I turn it on, the screen would stay black forever. I tried to disassemble the entire screen and I found the connector between the screen and the motherboard slightly oxidized on the side of the screen... What do I do? is it possible to do something to reappear on my screen? any suggestions? Thank you! Marco

Hi Marco,.

It seems that there might be a problem with the LCD screen on the computer, or there might be a problem with the video card inside the laptop. But first of all, this kind of problem will also occur if there is no residual power left inside the computer. Allows so try and first remove the residual power. The steps are:

  • Unplug all devices connected to the laptop.
  • Unplug the charger
  • Remove the battery
  • Press and hold button power for 30 to 40 seconds
  • Reconnect the battery
  • Reconnect the charger

Now, turn on the computer and check if you see any video on the next screen. If this isn't the case, then try and connect an external monitor to work good for the laptop. If you see the video on the monitor screen after connecting to the laptop then probably the laptop LCD screen turned bad and must be replaced.

If you do not have an external monitor to test before you run the LCD BIST (LCD Diagnostics) on the laptop. To run LCD BIST:

  • Shut down the computer
  • Press and hold'd ' key on the keyboard
  • Don't let go had it not turned off ' key. While holding down, press the power button once.
  • All the keys to unlocking

If you see different solid colors like red, green, blue, etc. on the screen of the laptop then don't forget not your LCD screen is fine and the video card went bad. If you don't see all the colors so your LCD for you gone bad and must be replaced.

Answer with your findings.

My Studio XPS 8000 (end of 2009) has no problem with sleep (S3) and wake up before I upgraded the Dell OEM Geforce GTX 260 arrives with the EVGA Geforce GTX 750 Ti system.

At present, the system has no question to go to sleep mode, however, when I try to wake the system by pressing power button/keyboard/mouse, System stucks after I hear the disc hard turns noise, and the screen stays black (no signal), then the system hangs there forever. I have to turn off the system and restart.

Other than / Eve black screen, the system works without any problem.

I upgrade the firmware MB(0X231R, intel P55) A03 BIOS, make sure also that I use the latest version of the driver for the gtx 750 ti (344.75 WHQL). Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium. Still no luck.

750Ti GTX are supposed to use much less energy than the GTX 260. Is not the issue of power supply. On some forums, I found people say X 58 (not P55, but maybe the same reason) mainboard a sleep problem with latest Nvidia cards, because of the interactions between the BIOS and the operating system. The problem, to a patch of BIOS. XPS8000 being 5 years old, I don't think not that it will receive an update of the BIOS.

I wonder if there is a solution to this problem?

    Thank you.

Update: the issue has been raised again.

I need to talk with Nvidia support agents, and they helped.

The next step fixed my problem:

And further to isolate the problem, remove the graphic driver NVIDIA completely and start the cmputer only with generic driver checking windows if she still has the issue.

Use the display driver UN-Installer (DDU) and remove the NVIDIA files.

Display of the Nations United-for driver installation (DDU): http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/

-Restart the computer and when it restarts windows will install the default display driver, let it install.

Once installed the default driver, please check the functionality of the PC.

The critical step is to use DDU to completely remove in safe mode video card driver!

We bought several of these models of laptop for our school. Many of them are met with a black screen at random death. Without warning, the screen goes black (with portable power and always on button). No amount of button pressing or click of the mouse will be reactive (continued) the screen. Nothing visible at all. The only solution is to hold down the power button, then start it again. If it was just a laptop, I think it was a fault. But with many do (once a fotnight of about), it makes me think that there is a major flaw with the model/software?

  • black screen on PC sleep/resume

I have a problem with my WPF .NET application using measurement studio. The application consists of a tabcontroller with 5 tabpages which two involve only WPF graphics. My problem is that the app works fine until I put the PC sleep how the tappages with the graphics stop responding i.e. can't choose them and if they are active and I have minimize the application, I get black screen when I try to maximize it. If I remove the graphics and put rather a button or LED, everything works fine after a reboot. Is not to launch any exception so I am a little confused.

I also have a window with a graph of measure and after the recovery of the system studio, if I give the floor. Show() or. ShowDialog() on the window, I get the same black screen and the application never gets to it. All the rest as the menuitem, and toolbaritem still work.

My question is what happens to measurement studio (especially graphic) controls when the computer is put to sleep and how can I prevent this from happening.

    Thank you.

  • Get a black screen BIOS afer and before Windows logon

So get a black screen after BIOS and before the Windows logon screen. I checked the RAM and one on two RAM sticks that was bad. But I still have the black screen. I tried an external monitor but still a black screen. I tried all the normal things (verification of the restore point disc, e.g. via the command prompt, startup repair, etc.) and no luck. I ran a test to check the hard drive, and it is impossible to find the hard drive. But then I ran AVG anti-virus, the AVG Live (bootable CD) and at the very start gave me this error: 106 error to the power of disk on life: 8768 (365 days + 8 hours) and underneath were basically the same error, just different numbers. But it still allowed me to run a scan and he was going through the files ok so she did not see the hard drive and files (contrary to the test of hard drive and yes the hard drive test was a bootable cd of same manf. like the hard drive), he found no virus. Even when I ran Defender in offline mode. Then I tried to re - install the operating system on the same drive with a cd. When he was going through the first part of the establishment where it was drivers and so forth: I kept getting the BSOD. Then I took the drive from the laptop and install it in another laptop but she has done the same thing, black screen, so I thought it was the hard drive. But then I begin another hard drive from the laptop and put it in the laptop original and he gave me the black screen and I know that the hard drive was good, she was an operating system that starts when I put it in the not troubled laptop. So any ideas anyone? Would it be possible that the all three things at once: RAM and hard drive laptop motherboard? Any help would be appreciated. Yet once, bios starts, just to Gets a black screen and does nothing after the bios but before the windows logon. The operating system is Vista and it is a Dell laptop, Studio. Any ideas?

    Thank you

  • Windows Vista starts with only a black screen with the mouse pointer.

Saturday, 02/27/10, I left my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1405 E) because I used Studio to produce a couple of videos.  When I got up in the morning, he himself had closed.  I tried to put on normally, and he said: recovery error windows, then on lists: Launch Startup Repair tool and start windows normally.  I tried to do a repair, but it just comes back to the same screen.  When I try to boot normally, it shows the progress on the background as usual bar, but then he comes up to a black screen with a mouse pointer.  When I run one of the many diagnostic tests, it is said that the BIOS cannot find the operating system loader.  I'm pretty adept at computers, but nothing I've tried before reinstalling Vista works.  I have files that I need to keep it on the computer, and only a few of them are saved.  Please help me soon, as I need for my school musical production on Thursday.

    Hello

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel
-Double click - Driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - device Manager - map - graph
then right click on the device and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
is CTRL + ALT + DEL and the processes tab find EXPLORER.exe and END PROCESS on it.
then on the tab Applications - lower right - new task - the type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is
accessible by tapping F8 as you start several times.

First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.

  • Boots Vista 64 Ultimate SP2 (with domain) to the mouse cursor black screen white after that several failure system restores

Who can help me to WHO:

Sorry for fast hiking, misspellings, it's late and I do not use my normal computer to this problem I have.

I am currently sympthym to start the black screen with a white cursor (furniture, put in construction in the middle) with my laptop Dell Studio 15 (model 1537) that running Vista Ultimate 64 bit SP2.  He started tonight after repeatively, I tried to restore to a date prior to the System Restore tool.  I wanted to get back to Monday due to some software installations.  However, each attempt to restore failed and then after the 3rd or 4th attempt, when I tried to restart, I was faced with a window very long stop, and I was impacient and pressed and held the power button to stop it.  Subsequent starts, I've known this problem with no solution having been found for the moment.

I tried several things at first, such that I tried Ctrl-alt-del, control-shift-esc, blindly connect with my fingerprint.  I tried windows key combos, but no luck.  Still stuck with screen black mouse cursor

I have my vista ultimate 64 bit installation disc, and I started with the dvd and tried to fix it.  Automatic repair tool says he finds a problem with my start and had a difficulty to which I applied and rebooted.  But it did not work.

Then, I tried to boot from the dvd again and did the repair option again, this time, Autostart reparir tool see nothing wrong with my start and I tried a system restore, but alas, it failed after having worked for a bit.  Telling something about restoration being corrupted.  I tried command prompt (X:\Source) and make chkdsk c: /p (which btw, implies / f as well) and it found some errors and repaired them or what not was wrong to write to newspapers, even if and then after long waiting, returns to the c: prompt.  No effect.

On subsquent dvd boots, I tried the option to command line renaming a "Logs" directory and create a directory "Logs" empty (which was mentioned in some research online and even in a few posts here), but that has not solved the problem for me either.

Dvd later boots, I have tried regedit solution method, where you will load a SYSTEM key and set some sort of AUTHORITY NT set... but when I checked key, she was already the correct setting.

Then I learned that I could press the "Shift" key repeatedly while mode cursor screen black/white/and try the propmpt for keys pop-up to sticky.  But he said no 'link' as many instructions in this message box.  When I click 'Yes' to sticky keys, nothing is displayed and the pop-up closes.  Ditto for the 'no '.  There is no mention of accessibility settings.

I tried all modes of security, but just a white cursor plu experience.  I have tried to use "last known configuration', 'debug mode', 'start logging mode', mode"disable driver signing"and again, the same thing, the cursor of the black and white screen.  I'm really at my wit's end, and I don't want REALLY to re - install everything (operating system, programs, settings, etc.) ... I did not back upward, and I use this machine without problem for more than a year.

I remember once XP has a "repair install" mode which was really obvious to end users, since it looked almost identical to a clean install.  I have also heard (but can't really confirm) Vista has no such a fashion, that, by clicking on install, he repaired to the simular OS to XP disks how would repair their facilities.  I can't risk my data/programs/settings for accidental clean installation.  Help, please!

    Sincerely,
    Robert Eckman

According to me, put it back in place, is the only solution to your problem!

  • Temporary black screen before and after the connection

I have a Dell Studio XPS running on Windows 7 Home Premium. Recently, I rebooted it after he was infected by malicious software, but now I'm having problems with a black screen that appears. After the windows logo appears, there is a black screen that shows about 20 to 40 seconds. My cursor is visible, I can move it around the screen, and at times, the waiting/loading wheel blue appears. I can connect then wait 40 seconds and my computer seems fine other than that. (Although it seems to take a little longer than expected to load my desktop however). As I mentioned, it started again just so there is no main programs installed that may take a while to load. I used the mode without failure to start my computer and the black screen seems to appear there as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hello

I suggest you to disconnect all external devices and check if that helps.

    Step 1:

I will suggest you to do material clean boot and check to see if you encounter the same problem.

    a. right-click on computer-> Manage

    b. Hardware tab Device Manager->

    c. right click the sound card, video card and NIC, one by one, and then click on turn off

    d. restart the computer.  If the problem is resolved, you can then enable the devices one by one to find the exact mechanism causing the problem

    Step 2:

After you find the device that is causing the problem you can solve by installing the latest driver or replacement of the unit.

    Thank you

Hello! I think that I may have a solution to our problem of the black screen with the circle of rotation.

I came across this post today because my iPhone all nine 7 (which I've upgraded to the latest ios) also got stuck on a black screen with the circle of rotation. I tried to update some of my apps, when suddenly the screen froze. I clicked once on the home button and the screen become black with the subsequent appearance of the circle of rotation.

I have tried everything - simultaneously press the home button and power (does not work). connected to itunes to do a restore (it won't let me not because my "find my iPhone" was turned on - but I could not turn off because my phone was insensitive).

In any case, a very useful Mr. Damon (Senior Advisor to Apple) helped me via chat to solve the problem.

    Here's what I did:

    1. make sure that your iPhone is disconnected from the socket or the computer.

    2. hold the POWER button and the VOLUME DOWN button at the same TIME. If it works, the screen should turn off almost immediately.

    3. connect your iPhone to the computer. (when I have connected to the computer, my iPhone automatically on and was ready to be reused).

The steps below are for those whose iPhones did not turn with the above steps. The following steps are designed to allow you to disable remote your 'find my iPhone', so you can do a manual restore from iTunes.

    4. go to www.icloud.com.

    5. click on Find iPhone

    6. given that the phone is turned off already, he won't be able to find it. On the top bar, click DEVICES.

    7. click on your iPhone.

    8. click on "delete account".

    9. go into your itunes and do a restore.

I did have to do steps 4 to 9 more, because as I said, my iPhone automatically activated after step 3.

This really worked for me. I hope this works for everyone else too! Have a great day!

  • iOS 10 wheel black screen

Been using iOS 10.0.1 for about a week on an iPhone 6 and it is buggy. The questions below are only occurred since the upgrade to iOS 10. Please fix in the next version or offer a solution.

1 random black screen with the spinning wheel. The upgrade went very well, so not this black screen. But at least every day my phone stopped responding and displays a black screen with the spinning wheel. After 5 to 10 seconds, I invited me to enter my password as if the phone has rebooted. I'm not the only person knows - and even managed to capture the image below.

2 - I activated the option 'open finger rest' in respect of the accessibility of the home screen, but this does not always work. Once again, about once a day, to rest my finger to open the results in me being invited to press the home button to unlock. Whenever this happened I checked and confirmed that 'rest finger to open' has been enabled.

    Thank you

I have the same problem.  3 co-workers have the same problem.  I opened a discussion with the Apple support, however, they said it was just my phone and that I should backup my phone and do a factory restore.  This is pretty extreme, especially considering that 100% of my immediate peers with iPhone devices 6 face the same frustration.
