Black screen on my Satellite L555

Hello

After having warmed my computer Toshiba Satellite L555 - 11K truned off and since nothing appears on my screen. The computer starts normally but the screen remains black. I connected an external monitor and it works perfectly. When I do FN + F4 nothing happens.

When I go into Device Manager, there are external screen that appear, the screnn to my laptop does not at all appear. It is not at all detected.

Thank you for helping

For some reason s notebook LCD is not detected at all. On this virtual path, no one can say with certainty what the problem is. It displays itself or contact, and this should be verified.

Question is: how? Best option is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider, explain the situation and let them fix it. Now, it's your decision what to do. Or you want to fix one?

    Hello

I see you are using Vista on this laptop.
This laptop has been pre-installed with Windows XP. Am I wrong?

It would be very interesting to know if the same thing happens with the OS pre-installed Toshiba. Please check this!

That say these issues can be caused by wrong or not entirely compatible graphics driver or lack of MS patches/fixes.

I recommend checking out the various graphics and update the operating system drivers to the last State

What model of laptop and operating system are you using?
Unplug the power plug, remove the dough and press power for 20 seconds.
After a few minutes only connect the power supply and try to restart your laptop.

  • Black screen on the Satellite A350-122 using Linux Ubuntu

    Hi all

I have a couple of months it has installed Ubuntu 9.04 (which completely replaces Windows XP) on my Toshiba A350-122 and this worked perfectly, until a recent day.

One day, after having locked the computer, when I came back the screen was very dark and nothing was visible, except with the help of a powerful light behind. Reboot and remove the battery change nothing.

    * This is the case at the beginning of the boot, and even the Toshiba logo is not visible.
    * However, the system starts normally, and I can see in the darkness of my login prompt.
    * I can also select the BIOS Setup, but the screen is too dark.
    * I have no display on an external device.
    * It was not held after an update of the system.

The first time it happened, I got it repaired.
The guy has managed to make the display work and then restored Windows XP.
They said: ' + Linux is responsible for + "... we cannot do anything more!

I reinstalled Ubuntu, and it happened again the next day... :-(

    * My questions are :*
    # If it is software issue, don't you think it should work in installation mode?
    # Is it possible to reset the display or video card?
    # How can I find out the type of video and the reference (don't forget: my screen is black)?
    # Someone has an idea to advance?

    Thanks for your help

    Hello

I think it's certainly a Linux software problem because the laptop work correctly using Win XP or Vista preinstalled Toshiba I m right?

The fact is that Linux is not supported by Toshiba:(et vous ne trouverez pas tous les pilotes compatibles sur la page de Toshiba)
So you have to pick up on some pages of party 3 drivers needed

On the black screen issue, I think you should check if you're used to that a graphics driver right maybe an update will help.

    Hello

It is not easy to say why this is happening. Have you standing connected an external device, such as USB, printer or something similar?

  • Black screen on startup Satellite A80

I get a black screen at startup what is the problem and what is the solution for it? It might have something to do with the cold?

    Hi poly

Please put more details on the problem, because it s not easy to say what has happened without any detailed information. You hear the operation of the HARD disk or fans?
Switch you to other devices to display, before this problem occurs?
Unfortunately it FN + F5 key combination doesn't work if the operating system has started so it could be a malfunction of the equipment. I don t think you can solve this problem by yourself. In this case, the only way is to contact the service.

  • Black screen on my satellite A60

Someone help pleae. Downloaded a pack of sevice on my satellite A60 and he did serious damage to a graphics driver... decided to recovery sysem completely... Put the recovery disk in... rebooted, held the key c pressed and nothing happens... it starts up but no display at all... machine very quiet well on... help!

Yes, I had the same thing, but with my satellite P10 (blue one), its still very new and I don't think that the problem was with the battery etc since when I loaded, right after the orange charge turns green after awhile, which indicates its fully charged.

I just played an online game when all of a sudden the laptop instantly closed (it was on the charger ALL the time, but like I said the problem isn't here) then I tried to re - open myh laptop, everything was ok, except the screen, which was black ALL the time, there was no noise which indicated that the laptop did not enter windows.

And as Raym0nd said, my cell phone was a little unusually quiet too...

I hope to get professional help on this. Thank you.

P.S: I realized that, when the laptop is turned off (I played an online game) that the internet connection was not longer working because it has expired. That has affected the laptop, because when you're not online and your game, it closes instantly, the game that is... But I had this situation many times before... Why it is like that now...?

I need help as soon as POSSIBLE... Thank you all very much.

  • Black screen on my Satellite A500-138

    Hello

Since a few days, my screen is completely black, and I can use it only with a secondary screen.

The laptop has been verified by local service providers, and everything is OK (display, cables, connectors).
I have a sugestion for flashing the Bios, but the software downloaded from Toshiba Europe tells me that I have the latest version and will not Flash the Bios. Any help will be apreciated.

    Hello

I m wondering how a technician can say that the display is OK if the internal screen is black?

It's certainly not graphic card problem because in this case the external monitor does not work too.

Have you tried the combination: Fn + F5?
This switches between internal and external monitor.

You see the Toshiba start screen when the device is started?

  • Update BIOS - black screen now on Satellite C660

First of all Hello first post. I have 2 laptops computers C660 girls 1 satellite crashed a while a go so she began using mines. Mine C665D now broke screen can see some of the screen. Decided to try first permutation screen not switch different connectors then swapped hardy Bank 665 to 660 and clean install win7 pro. Was good, but had no network drivers. Do not have another pc iPads allows only a bit difficult to download driver swapped so Hardrive back download driver 660 exchanged again for driver loaded all good work. Reading tips says update all drivers. Started at the top of the page of the Toshiba driver and did the bios update. Crash! During installation stop 'corrupts' BIOS and now will not start. Push button power led both come the fan starts and then just stops. Fact a little research, and it seems that the bios flash was not a good option, too bad it's on the driver download page, won't happen again. I tried to leave without battery f2 etc but still stops. Any help would be appreciated as I am defiantly out of my depth now. The two pieces currently in the laptop, but I'm pretty well on the menu drop-down put back together thing, tempted to bin then all but both will see if you guys can help.

A bit of an update might help others?
It seems that I need Ref lash the bios. From what I had read the reading process.
    1. make a bootable usb stick (at this stage now)
    2. download the bios. I downloaded back wi to be able to extract the files. There are 4 files as follows.
    1 bios. ROM 4 356 kalonji
2 BiosCheck 1 kalonji (it is a Notepad I read file)
    3. ec.ROM 128 kalonji
    4 configuration 1389 kalonji
Not exactly what file to be copied to a guess, I would say 1 but maybe all necessary?

    3. remove the hard drive and optical drive
4 remove battery insert bootable usb, apparently, it is imperative that you keep it F key kept in then plug power on keep pressing the button F let go after a certain time (30 seconds not sure how long I'll try) release the F key. If you have a USB stick with a light if it lights it is working, wait just restart the system and I hope that you can now enter the rest of the system.
I got my old Acer laptop installed fresh closet 7 win was running very slow spen so much more sorting, day was services using 100% cpu, Windows update, this turned out well and now pretty well I hope make bootable usb and put on the Flash Toshiba bios.
Feel free to add if I missed something.
    Thank you

    Hello

I bought a Satellite P100-350 2 years and a few months it sometimes does not further the "toshiba" sign at the start, the hard drive does not. If I then press the Start button on the computer, it stops immediately. (I can't press it for 5 seconds as they normally do when it works properly).

In this case, when that I raise, I lorsque que je le relance, je revois see the toshiba screen and a message asking me if I want to start windows with the last configuration and if I do, it opens the windows and everything works fine...
    I checked, I don't think I have a virus...

I read also some other posts on the topic and updated the bios as advised but it changed nothing!
What kind of pain is it? The energy supply, bios, operating system,...?

It's hard to say... How good are you with computers? Do you think you could do a diagnosis on your machine?

I suggest to download the 'Ultimate Boot CD 4 Win' and check your RAM/disk hard/chipset/etc... on the malfunctions by doing some tests with the applications on the "UBCD4Win.

Otherwise, I recommend giving the machine to someone who has some idea on laptops and allow him to check everything.

    Welcome them
