  When I go to BB-Link and try to 'Reload', it asks to press the power button until the device is off. The unit get off but it gets activated immediately and get stuck at the top of the screen.

  The BB-link said it is impossible to connect to the device and therefore cannot continue.

  Please clarify - you nave never installed all Desktop software? If so, that would prevent using BBSAK or JLCmder... both require the basic BB drivers must be installed and those that are installed on your PC during the installation of the desktop software.   Follow these steps for peripheral storage BlackBerry-

  1. connect your device using the USB cable

  2. click on the backup and restore

  3. click the backup button

  4. Select the location where you want to keep the backup data

  5. click on Ok to continue

  I did not a security wipe in ages, so I don't know what the icon looks like these days. I would say that a security wipe can take hours to complete if there is much data on your phone.

  You might be best to leave all night to see if he is ready to leave in the morning (unless someone else can confirm that the frozen icon is not a good thing and other measures should be taken).

  1. connect the BlackBerry smartphone to PC computer.
  2. open start-> programs-> Accessories-> command prompt.
  3. navigate to C:\Program Files\Common search in Motion\Apploader.
