BlackBerry smartphone data Plan works... right?

Hi all

It goes well if my BB data plan works on a GPRS (upper case), but without the BB icon?

I said... with a wi - fi connection, I UMA and the BB icon, and all is well... when I'm outside, I have GPRS (uppercase), and BB seems to work as well, but no icon of BB.

Support Orange told me that as long as services are working, no matter if I have the icon or not, but it seems weird to me.

Orange assistance should read the public knowledge base article:

KB02334 Indicators of State of network of networks GSM/GPRS/EDGE / 3G

The BlackBerry icon appears only with the 3G. So you are 100% fine.

  • "Required" on Verizon Blackberry blackBerry Smartphone data plan, no required on AT & T?

I don't mind paying the $29.99 for "data unlimited" on my Storm. But why AT & T gives customers the opportunity to transform power data? Something about RIM "demands" on their BlackBerry Verizon load data. Or am I wrong on these two areas?

I was wrong about customers of AT & T having the ability to have data on their Blackberry phones. If someone buys a Blackberry to AT & T, they have to get a map of data, like Verizon. The difference between carriers is if you put your AT & T SIM card in a Blackberry that you got a friend online or somewhere other than directly from AT & T, your SIM card will work for voice services. If you don't have a Blackberry data plan, it will not work for data. Verizon is CDMA and Verizon devices must be triggered by Verizon, you can not simply exchange to another phone without the knowledge or help of Verizon. Anyone using a SIM card AT & T with a Blackberry without a data plan, just to put their SIM in the phone. RIM requires a data plan for all Blackberry phones sold by all carriers.

  • Smartphone data plan (BBM, navigation and Blackberry Protect) blackBerry stops working on Blackberry 9930

Hi I was using my Blackberry 9930 for a little over a year now, with the same data plan.

A few days ago my laptop could not start, so I reinstalled my OS. However after successful relocation, I met a problem to access the surveys BBM, browser and Blackberry Protect.

Wifi, browser and Appworld are fine (BBM and Blackberry Protect not fine).

However, when I turn off my wifi, I get this.

Check the service book, I noticed many missing articles...

Please note that these are ALL the elements, nothing more to scroll down for.

I noticed there is an additional element in Options > device > advanced system settings: i.e. the enterprise activation

Click to open the Enterprise Activation (I also get this window when I open the mail setup), I come to the page of connection probably BES.

Other messages, I understand that this could be the it policy. I've done many factory reset, via DM directly, via the command prompt using the loader/nojvm command and /resettofactory

    Things I did without success:

-Full Wipe and reinstall operating system (7.1.0.580, 7.1.0.755 and 7.1.0.991)

-Remove the policy with the above methods

-Record of Routing Table, locally on the host's phone and asking the carrier to do so.

-Access my site of carrier (telkomsel.blackberry.com) of the pc and return Service directories.

    Things to note:

-Emails are working properly, can send and receive without wifi

-Browser and Appworld are fine, only when the wifi is enabled

-Change SIM on another blackberry, my data plan works perfectly

-If I add a contact (phone B) through BBM surveys, phone B receives the request. However when a phone B accepts, nothing happens.

-L' opposite is not true. Phone B please, my phone receives no notification.

My career was told that my PIN code may be suspended/compromised, is it possible? and how should I proceed if it is true?

    Please advice and much appreciated.

The carrier States that I have to bring this matter to Blackberry since:

    1. I did not buy the handset of them (carrier)

    2. they have proved that my data plan works when the SIM card is transferred to another handset.

Assuming that the suspension of the SPINDLE is true, nobody knows how should I proceed?

Indeed, the situation is delicate. The support service is always the responsibility of the carrier, because they are the entity that provides services. But subsidies related to the device falls to the original place of purchase, or an entity to which they have assigned to your supported devices. When the unit was purchased elsewhere, the service provider can refuse support for issues related to the device. And it seems that your service provider is to determine it's a question related to the device rather than a question related to the service. I don't know if this conclusion is correct or not... I tend to interpret your situation as related to the service, rather focus on the device, but I have not seen the 'rules' that they must follow to do this.

As such, your next step would be to contact the Manager of your support related to the device. Maybe it's your place of origin of the purchase, a service centre or other entity... it varies depending on the region, and I have no idea of what the device-support model is made for you. If you are unsure, contact your original purchase for orientation.

If all goes well, they will be ready to take your case and it degrades to the BlackBerry without cost to you. I can't say whether they will be or will not be. Sometimes, when issues come and the two types of support (device and service) are not provided by the same entity, there may be a tendency for each to blame others, unfortunately, leaving the end user without recourse, but to continue to try to climb with both entities until you reach someone who will be willing to take responsibility and provide the necessary climbing.

There is something called incident support, but it costs to just ask the original question, since you are not through support contracts that are in place. If you want to study, you can check it out here:

There is also this link, but I can't vouch for its usefulness because I've never needed to use it and reports in our community here indicate mixed results. But you can try:

  • Smartphones blackBerry 9900 data Plan does not work!

    Hi, new here, great site!

I'm from Canada, with Koodo and bought a unlocked 9900 opportunity, my neighbor via a Classifieds site, and as much as I know it was his business phone.
I wiped it it clean and improved the operating system to 7.01

I noticed that the previous service logo remains still (Rogers) during boot-up/shutdown, hmm, OK whatever he is working with Koodo.

I called Koodo to allow data, but nothing works. I called them and they told me to enter "bb.koodo.com" in the APN field with no username and password. Then to save the host Routing Table (he told me that he registered very well) but I did not receive a message. Also, we have removed battery and tried everything again. It still does not.

It is H + at the top right of the screen, but who has always been there.

She said that maybe the phone was restriction IP since I bought it used, and maybe BB Swiss Army tool could help me get off, but she didn't know how. So I downloaded and pushed some buttons (more precisely remove COD) and really messed up my phone... lol

Just reinstalled OS7.01 once again and fortunately had a fairly recent backup.

Suggestions for making data work, or do I need a new phone?

Hello and welcome to the community!

Let's start there, because who can be tricky depending on what exactly is meant by "business phone". Reference:

    • Article ID: KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after the purchase of a used BlackBerry smartphone

Many of the steps can only be carried out by the seller... for example, if the prior carrier still has a BIS account allocated to that specific device, so no other carrier will be able to create a BIS account for her, and a BIS account is required to use wisely. As a general rule, a carrier will come out only the BB from the account when the real account holder made the request... and you will not if this situation applies.

In addition, if the device has been activated BES, you need to follow additional steps. Reference:

    • Article ID: KB30076 How to check for an it on a BlackBerry smartphone policy

If there is an IT strategy, then there are a special method, you need to remove it, but it will be successful if the BES server, to which the device has been set already has the removed feature of it... you may need to ask the previous owner about it. If this BES server was deleted, you can use this method to clean up the it policy:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

It is necessary to use this exact method... refer:

    • Article ID: KB16307 Actions performed by the BlackBerry smartphone during the removal of the user stored and application data

Now, with all these preliminaries of the road...

    Serious9900 wrote:

As you guessed, it's irrelevant. BBs are still originally designed for a specific carrier... and some of these contractual carriers with BB to place a splash screen of starting the device ROM, that can never be changed. But, it does nothing other that that unit was built for this carrier... but as long as all other things correctly, it is not serious at all.

But, to be clear, when you say "it works on Koodo", I guess that's your voice services? And are all now, you must operate your data services? If telephone services do not work correctly on Koodo, then it is useless trying to get data services going.

    Serious9900 wrote:

But now say you "nothing works"... should I continue to assume this are information specific to the data, and that telephone services continue to operate properly on Koodo? Sorry for being blunt, but clarity is critical or waste us time on unnecessary things.

When you say "he told me that he registered very well", which means exactly please? This means that he said something like 'Check pending', 'Record sent' or some other message popup? Once again, here the clarity is critical. If that's what you saw, then indeed it is not registered correctly. Rather, he made the application very well... but until the enrollment message arrives in the Messages application, then the intervention is required since the data network of the carrier did not and until it nothing for the data will be working.

Upper case H +? Once again, just double check, since if she was tiny, that it would mean something completely different from that of capital letters. Top of case, this is what it must be.

    Serious9900 wrote:

I don't know what she thought about it. May be restriction of BES and if the above process I gave you can purify that.

Never good to a few buttons when you don't know what you do... I don't remember if BBSAK is able to remove political or not, but it can do a very good cleaning.

    Serious9900 wrote:

And that could be part of your problems. If, for example, the device has one IT political edge, while part of a full process... which means that even if you happen to clean off, a complete restoration simply will return to the instrument, turning to your right back to where you started backup/restore. Instead, to do only a partial backup or restore, and more precisely to avoid data bases that have to do with THIS, political, business or something similar... the conservative approach is to only to backup/restore of critical databases you need (for example, contacts, calendar) and manually reconfigure the rest. Remove a policy is a tricky thing.

    Serious9900 wrote:

I think you have enough to start on top. Another question about whether Koodo, however, is if their network is configured to auto-fill your specific with entries HRT device model and service book. If their network is not, while actually explains everything. No carriers configure their network to support all models of BB... each one chooses a subset of the model numbers of BB and configure their network accordingly. But trying to use a model number BB on a carrier network that is NOT configured for this model results in number exactly what you live... their network will not automatically grow some HRT and SB entries on your device because their network does not recognize your device as a model BB number taken in charge.

Looking at a reference that I can find, it seems that Koodo is configured for the 9360, 9300, 8530 and 9790. But not for the 9900. Now, is that with a proverbial grain of salt... that reference does not necessarily mean that the network of Koodo is not configured for the 9900, it's just an indicator that is not. Koodo can only tell you that answer for you.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry smartphone Wi - Fi working if data Services (Mobile network) is DISABLED

Today, I had some problems with the Wi - Fi...

The problem is that Sub Manage Conections > MOBILE NETWORK settings there is an option that says: 'Data Services '... Because it is under the settings of MOBILE NETWORK that is linked to my network operator, and I have no data Plan I guessed I could turn that OFF...

So then a few minutes later I tried to use what is Soft, and there is no link... so I tried using the browser also without lucky.

Then after you are looking for something that could solve my problem without finding something useful, I decided to work on it by myself, so I rebooted the BB, my router home, cheking to diagnose the connection under Internet options, but nothing seemed to work until I decided to turn the setting on Data Services, I was talking about before... and now he started working...

I don't know if it's a real problem or something else... but I think an option under Mobile network should be without interfering with the Wi - Fi, not simply no logic at all...

Under "Mobile network" you would think he would not influence him, but he does.  In order to use wifi, you must have enabled Data Services.  He was always so...

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you should talk to your provider of official support and to ensure that you are subscribed to a data plan which is sufficient to enable the services you want:

So I got my new Blackberry Curve 8530 with Virgin Mobile two days ago.
I have the $35 / month plan with data UNLIMITED, web, & text and 300 call minutes.
I love the phone, but I had a lot of problems with it:
-When I download the Facebook app it says I don't have the service data to plan it and I even tried to download the v1.6 via the web instead of app world.
-J' tried to make a BIS account and he said: he has not registered with the service and said to the multitude of the routing table thing and I did, I got the recording message and I tried to do a new BIS and it still does not work!
-When I go to the configuration of email, it has only the option for a business account, and I want to use a personal account.
-Blackberry maps is not in all folders or on the home screen, but it's in the options > applications folder.

    * In addition, twitter, Web app and everything work fine!

I think that's all and I really want to know if you have solutions, and I really love this phone! I really want to know if it is a question of Virgin Mobile or Blackberry! :/ Thank you very much!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Everything you have said indicates that you don't have an appropriate plan data at the level of the BB on your BB. To use the ability to email Push RIM exclusive (among many other services), you must have an adequate data of your carrier plan. Carriers BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) host for their BB users. In general, BIS is not available through generic data plans. Several ships make stop what is needed the Blackberry data plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier that delivers BIS users of BB - contact - the for assistance. Once you have a compatible BIS data plan on your BB (fees regardless of your carrier will charge, btw), then you will have personal email added to the e-mail Setup Wizard.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BBM STOPPED WORKING WIFI

Please, I wonder if someone will have a solution to my problem BBM, I currently use my blackberry on a wiFi connection at home that I have completed my contract with my network provider (virgin). The BBM, applications ( yahoomessenger, Windows Live, AIM, talk) IM, my facebook apps and blackberry world were all works well even with different WiFi. But recently, I am unable to use all the above applications mentioned above all my BBM as I needed it hard to communicate. At first, I thought it was the internet connection at home but I found the browser and two other applications that I work perfectly. I'd appreciate any effort to solve this problem.

Here, there is your problem.  So that your BlackBerry to access Wi - Fi, it needs some service books, which are like instruction manuals so he can learn to do.  These service books are pushed to your phone via BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service), a fancy name for a monthly data BlackBerry from your operator.  Without these service books, your phone will not access many features Wi - Fi.  Once you have BIS on your account, you can actually turn off your network connection and just use a Wi - Fi connection, but you must have BIS in place initially.

I hope I've been helpful to you.
