  • BlackBerry Smartphones after switch of the device to the same model, BB missing Apps (like cards and password keeper)

I had problems for a long time with my keyboard on my BB Bold 9900, so finally I was given a used to toggle Bold 9900. I have used the functionality of the switch device of BlackBerry Desktop (v7.1) software and was off and running on my 'new' "BOLD". Finally, I noticed that the cards and password keeper are missing on my new phone. I did a lot of digging through our corporate HelpDesk, phone call from mobile provider support, and if Google search (incl. various BlackBerry support forums). Nowhere is that I found a solution that worked.

A number of sources did the download card www.blackberry.com/ but that results in a message of "Opinion sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry Maps."

When I look in the Applications tab of BB Desktop Software, BlackBerry Maps is not listed (is not password keeper).

Two of my phones are running OS 7.1 Bundle 2840. Carrier SaskTel (part of the network of Bell Mobility).

    Any ideas?

From what you describe, something is not right when you installed/updated / switched devices. Thus, a clean reload of the OS would be the right thing to do. The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones (1) Message icon at the top of the phone?

My wife has the message at the top of his phone icon and I can't make it go away?  It shows one (1) next to his email, (1) in his messages icon, but there is nothing there?  His email and SMS/MMS is combined, I tried to separate them, but still can not find it.  I checked the saved messages also.  He drives her crazy seeing her here and not see a message.  Can you help me?

In my view, that's a little dramatic, there are several things to do or check first, a reset to factory settings:

    Try these options:

    * Hard Reset BlackBerry by holding ALT CAP (right Shift key) and DEL (or removing and reinserting the battery)

    Messages > saved Messages

Messages > view folders, check each folder (calls, SMS and MMS, and boxes, saved missed boxes, browser, phone logs etc.)

    * Scroll at the top of the folder, on the title menu, click or tap to MARK PRIOR OPEN date

Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)

    * Clean and reload your OS.

  • BlackBerry smartphone data Plan works... right?

    Hi all

It goes well if my BB data plan works on a GPRS (upper case), but without the BB icon?

I said... with a wi - fi connection, I UMA and the BB icon, and all is well... when I'm outside, I have GPRS (uppercase), and BB seems to work as well, but no icon of BB.

Support Orange told me that as long as services are working, no matter if I have the icon or not, but it seems weird to me.

Orange assistance should read the public knowledge base article:

The BlackBerry icon appears only with the 3G. So you are 100% fine.

  • BlackBerry smartphone data transfer

My curve 'Crash' on me so they are sending me a new (as it is still under warranty). If I swap my SIM will automatically transfer all my info from contacts or who will be lost?

Hello and welcome to the community!

If you use your SIM card as your storage location of the exclusive contact item (you check in your camera settings), then your contacts will indeed be moving along with your SIM card. But, most do not because the list of contacts from SIM card is terribly restricted... a SIM contact element can have only one name to a phone number and no other details. The BB address book can have a name with multiple phone numbers, addresses, email, notes, etc. The BB address book is a lot more robust that the SIM contact list... so, if you use the address book of BB, then these elements definitely will not move with your SIM card to the new device.

But all is not lost... check-out of the switch device Wizard:

    • Article ID: KB23677 How to change device using BlackBerry Desktop Software

If you can keep your old device running long enough to get through the process, then that takes care of everything. You may need to try Mode safe on your old device to run more if the 'crash' coming in too fast.

Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Date & time incorrect in the text (UPDATED INFORMATION) messages

I don't know what happened, but when I woke up this morning all my text messages have gone on Blackberry Torch 9800. In addition, time & date to which I send or receive a text today is inncorrect, even if the time & date on my phone is correct. Can anyone help?

    8 06

OK, so I realized that my messgs were accidentally deleted the previous night, so this isn't a problem now. But my time text & still date messed up. Time & correct date on the phone. The text messgs., time on my outgoing txts is OK, but incoming texts times are off by at least 2 hours & the date shows Saturday, February 27, 2049 (today). So weird! Someone has an idea?

I went again online looking for a solution & solved my problem! I had tried to take the battery before, not helping. But found a post that suggested to delete all text messages before removing the battery. So after all the messages of compensation & remove the battery, my time & date on texts is correct. I hope this will help someone else who may have the same problem.

  • BlackBerry smartphones dates update on BBM

Hi everyone I have a question.  I'll send this to the Japan and currently using Blackberry Curve.  The other day I noticed there was a notification update for BBM so I downloaded any for BBM.  And later, I discovered that I had a newer version (not sure) BBM and came with the BBM voice.  On my friends list, I only have my husband living in the United States, and when he saw my recent activity, he thought that I have a new friend in my friends list and I tried to invite this person voice BBM to discuss.  As I've mentioned before, my husband is the only person on my list, so I invite anyone, but on his phone, he sounded like he appeared like that.  He believes that I sent the voice BBM invite someone.  He also said that later, when he checked my list of activity, the invitation was missing, so he thinks that I removed it to hide from him.  Imagine all these things that he told me and I had no idea.  In any case, I want to know if there is anyway I can find out how to check the last date of download BBM to prove that I invite anyone, but I downloaded this day here.  Also, if anyone has an idea why its BBM, it appeared, I asked someone, let me know, too.  Or suggestions will be much appreciated!

On your home screen to go to Options > device > application > BlackBerry Messenger > highlight it > press Menu > View Properties > on this screen under details section, you will find when you installed this version or the recent which is located in your device.

Voice call is a function allowing the BBM user establish a voice call on a WiFi ONLY with BBM contacts out there, you can make a voice call only to those who are in your BBM Contacts.

As you mentioned that you have only ONE contact in your list of contacts i BBM; e your husband in this situation, it is not possible to place a call on any unknown, unless it is already in your contacts list. But... It's only you who know your contacts list or to confirm.

  • BlackBerry smartphone data to the PC without old device recovery

You should be able to.restore the backup in Desktop Manager help - don't be a swap of the device.

  • Time to talk blackBerry Smartphone device switch Copies?

    Morning,

I was wondering if anyone has come across this problem because I tried to return a Pearl that I bought last week Friday, and politics of the Bank stipulates that, in 15 days & less than 15 minutes of talk time that he will bring back a phone.  When I went in the store to do this, they said that I had more than 7 hours of talk time on the Pearl that I had just bought.  Well, after a lot of frustration and calls in my carrier they allowed me to buy the new curve.  At the end of the test together the store manager asked me to ensure that the new phone has 0 minutes of talk time and lo and behold, after they had interpreted the data of the Pearl to curve switch, he showed the 7 hours of talk time on the new curve.  They didn't know and neither I don't that the procedure of the switch of the device we did originally from an old curve to the Pearl had copied my 7 hours of my original curve talk time and it is postponed to the Pearl and now the new curve.

Needless to say, it causes a lot of frustration to anyone trying to return a phone and the policy of the store is like mine.  Anyone who does not know this little glitch in the switch of the device will experience this problem.  Sorry for the long expaination but I'm still frustrated that I spent almost 2 hours talking with the store on an issue that is clearly not valid.  Is there a way to prevent copying the time between phones?

Ah. I thought they wanted the given phone to 0. If everything is ok now? Or now that you have the new device, you want to reset the timer?

If you go in your call log / phone, press the menu key, then select status. From here if you press menu again, can you choose clear timers?

  • BlackBerry smartphone data truncated during synchronization - the note field size can be increased?

I find that some data is truncated on the "BOLD" when my "BOLD" with Outlook synchronization. This is a problem for some of my bigger contact and entries of calendar notes.

Is it possible to increase the size of these fields on the device must match which allows Outlook (or at all)?

    ... Thank you!

It turned out that only some 200 entries truncated calendar had an atttachment, but some appeared to have a symbol (small rectangle) character that seems to replace a in the subject line. In my opinion, that they were introduced during a synchronized using an earlier version of Desktop Manager when I was with a Blackberry 8700.

Re: problem of truncation: when syncing with the "BOLD", I discovered that in each case that a few words at most have been lost from the entries, regardless of the initial term. When I took the time to check them individually, most were not serious for me.

Then... I still don't understand why it happened, but I was able to fix the problem for now.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Date and time in received messages

    Hello.

We have a 8310 with an account configured OWA (Blackberry Internet Service) device. Last weekend I had turned it off and today when I turn, device starts download of mail e-mail, but all the email appears with the date and time when it is inserted in the device. I have to open each email to see the real date and time what's happened to the mailbox.

Are there settings to display items sorted by date of receipt in the mailbox, and not in the device?

    Thank you

This is the way of design. Incoming messages will always have a time stamp from the moment they are delivered to a BlackBerry.

  • "Required" on Verizon Blackberry blackBerry Smartphone data plan, no required on AT & T?

I don't mind paying the $29.99 for "data unlimited" on my Storm. But why AT & T gives customers the opportunity to transform power data? Something about RIM "demands" on their BlackBerry Verizon load data. Or am I wrong on these two areas?

I was wrong about customers of AT & T having the ability to have data on their Blackberry phones. If someone buys a Blackberry to AT & T, they have to get a map of data, like Verizon. The difference between carriers is if you put your AT & T SIM card in a Blackberry that you got a friend online or somewhere other than directly from AT & T, your SIM card will work for voice services. If you don't have a Blackberry data plan, it will not work for data. Verizon is CDMA and Verizon devices must be triggered by Verizon, you can not simply exchange to another phone without the knowledge or help of Verizon. Anyone using a SIM card AT & T with a Blackberry without a data plan, just to put their SIM in the phone. RIM requires a data plan for all Blackberry phones sold by all carriers.

  • Language blackBerry Smartphones device switch Wizard problem

Looks like the last switch device Wizard has the old problems. I tried to remove and reinstall and even a different machine. Each time, I get a totally different language. Is there an 'English' version only software Desktop or how can I fix this? TIA

A few places to visit: Blackberry 101    tips & tricks

I believe you are referring to BB Desktop Manager (not the device switch Wizard that is part of DM)

I suggest the following steps (reboot insert a lot of restarting your PC... not only restarts, but at full power down). In addition, it is recommended that you are connected to the PC on an account with full administrator rights. In addition, Vista, use the option "Run As Administrator" for everything.

Get a new RIM DTM software download:

Download the software for the support of Blackberry  ((sélectionnez Télécharger BB Desktop Software-une fois la version choisie, anglais est 3e (sans gestionnaire de médias) and 4th (with the Media Manager) options down))

    * Choose the version which is more recent and (if any) compatible with your PIM (such as Outlook, if you are synchornizing via USB):

KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize

    (3) install DTM on your PC

    (4) start the configuration Organizer:

KB17022 how to configure applications to Organizer for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager

Let us know how it goes!

    Happy to welcome you!
