BlackBerry smartphone SMS issues

Hello

I hope someone can help :-)

Whenever I receive a text message on my 9700, text messages are sitting on top of the other.  So my SMS screen shows only 1 text, but in fact, there may be texts 4. If I delete the text from the top message, then it shows my next message and so on.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

I do not understand what you have described, but you attached a simple reboot of the device to fix?

  • With the BlackBerry powereddevice, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most defects and errors of operating system, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

I'm at my wits end with my Blackberry Torch 9810.  I have very little text messages in my Inbox, I lost the lot for some reason my phone has decided to change some date & in the future and trying to resolve that, in my opinion, I wiped everything, do not know what I did a few weeks ago, but they disappeared.

Now I get notifications that my SMS Inbox is full and I need to delete messages.  Can someone help me I have a lot of messages on the handset and cannot believe it is complete unless there is an option I need to select/deselect.  The user guide is useless.

I changed a parameter in the past as text messages seem to be endangered if they were in a month or so old, but all that I did I can't and don't know how to handle all my text messages myself.  My old iphone allowed me to keep the text as long messages I wanted with what appeared to be a very large storage area, now I just want to throw this thing in the bin.  Unfortunately I have 18 months remaining on my contract (business) so I can do nothing about it.

OK, not a lot of people very little. It is in memory of the device, but you are some of the SIM card, save too much.

Then... you must change this setting according to the instructions below.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS Backup-able?

Hello. I had a BB Bold 9650 for six weeks, and the 'o' key is out.  Verizon sent me a new free, but I have text messages that I really want to keep.  If I do a backup of my phone, which will exclude my texts or is it possible to save them for the transfer?

I am open to any downloadable software, with which I can save my texts.  But I checked my options in the SMS section and the inside of the text itself, and there seems to be no way to save these texts is to the card by e-mail, the PC or the media.

Would appreciate any input from anyone before I go ahead and switch phones.  I have maybe just live without "O" key and keep my existing phone.  Sounds crazy, I know, but I really want to save these.  There should be a way to save and transfer all back to the new, I hope.  Searched the web for two hours looking for it but no luck so far.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

If you are always two devices by hand, then you can use the switch device Wizard:

Honestly I don't positive how specifically manages the SMS, but there are sections of your user manual that discussing it... You should also check here.

Also, you can manually back up your SMS database, and then I guess that try to restore:

  • BlackBerry smartphone messaging issue curve 9320

    Hi all!

the e-mail on my 9320 function does not work correctly. I have correctly configured my gmail on mydevice account and I get emails and receive notifications when they arrive, HOWEVER...

When I opened the email all I see is heading for the topic and who it is from, there is no message body. Looking back through my old emails, the only ones I have read completely are those that I received BlackBerry when I first set up my email confirming the installation. If I select answer or forward, it opens the E-mail project but then the email app is closed completely and I'm suddenly brought to my home screen.

    What I've tried so far:

-Turning device and turn it on again

-removal and setting up my email account once again

-wear the device to where I bought it. they offered to download blackberrydesktop on my PC Manager and backup then restore my phone. I did it without a change in behavior from my blackberry

Any help or advice is much appreciated

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you need to consider a full reload OS... to prepare, please visit link for Backup in my auto signature on this post.

    Good luck!

There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

    Method 1:

    • Open the Blackberry Desktop Software and connect your device to your PC with the USB OEM cable and without inserting the battery.
    • You will get three options: try again, update or cancel; Click Refresh.
    • Once, it is at the stage of initialization of 'pocket', insert the battery.
    • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

    Second method:

    • Start your BlackBerry in safe mode. KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe
    • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
    • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
    • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
    • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.

Good luck and let us know!

I rebooted my phone from TONS of time... is there a way to reset the phone?

It comes from occurring as you face constraints of memory in your device. The low memory manager (LMM) is activated automatically when the flash available on the BlackBerry smartphone memory decreases less than 400 KB. Flash memory is used to store such as Messages, calendar, Contacts, tasks, Notepad BlackBerry smartphone applications and third-party applications.

    Perform the following steps-

    1. Give a soft reset by removing the battery for 30 sec.
    2. Check the amount of memory is free in your device to Options -> status -> free memory. To view all aspects of database go to Option -> status -> click on the Menu button and then select the database size

  • Issue of journal blackBerry Smartphones SMS

I recently bought a BB Curve 8300. As a former user of Palm Treo, was one of the features that I liked for SMS when a contact and I would chat via SMS, a newspaper would create so I wouldn't 100 texts from the same person, showing on the screen. On the curve, it seems texts appear separately instead of a conversation being created. Is there anyway to create a log of the conversation so I don't have a large number of messages from the same person in the message log? I'm sorry if this is confusing, I don't really know how else to Word it :-(

which is commonly called "threaded SMS" conversation. It is not possible in the native BB software.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS works do not normally abroad

I have a unlocked 9560 "BOLD" of Blackberry from Verizon wireless. I got on the phone with me in Israel and got a sim card and via a carrier here called cellcom blackberry service. Everything seems to work fine except for SMS.

When I text some people they never get the text and I get no rebound back informing me of an error. On the other hand, some people that I can the text very well. I think the problem has something to do with the country code and the 0 in front of all numbers here. All numbers are stored in my phone as such... 052-796-0124 code is + 972 but didn't cope. I can call these numbers without problem from my address book, but when I text there is no problem. When I get a text from people that I myself can't text, I can answer without problem to their original text. I can't start a conversation however. I tried to play with the settings of smart dial. I changed the country of Israel and tried leaving as the U.S. number. and saying that the numbers are 9 digits and do not dial 1. None of these options work.

    Any ideas here?

    I finally got...

Even if you can make phone calls of fines with a number such as 0527960124 the SMS app requires the country code + 972 in number, and you must then remove the zero of the number... where + 972527960124. There is a little pain I have to reformat several numbers in my phonebook that I text often, otherwise its not so bad. It almost looks like a software issue or control that can be resolved in future versions of software.

It's funny that voice calls will the two examples above are identical and both will shoot the same entry in the phonebook successfully, the text, however, is another story.

    Thank you the assistance.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS and missed calls shows do not in my folder of SMS and MMS

    Hello!

I have no problem with my phone so far - but this morning all of a sudden my message text and MMS folder suddenly only shows my emails.

I can send texts by going to 'compose SMS', but when I get an answer I don't see the text message... I tried to play with the menu Options and the display folder in my text and MMS Inbox, but nothing seems to work!

I assume that you must have changed some settings (I haven't touched this but anyway...) - I would like to reset?

Turn on your BlackBerry and off does nothing, except to turn power on and off. Perform a simple reboot on the BlackBerry this way: with smart BlackBerry poweredphone, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart. A reboot in this way is prescirbed for most the gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose any data on the device doing so.

There is no text in my folder of SMS and MMS - a few emails - not even my old messages...

You can not email in your Messages folder. So, I'm confused, or is it typo?

You have the choice of where to view your SMS/MMS messages:

    • In your main folder.
    • In a folder dedicated to SMS/MMS.
  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS questions

Hey I got a problem with my Blackberry bold 9700. There are some messages that end up freezing and I am not able to open. And all the other messages that open, when I send an answer that I see it through and sent, but when I go back to the Inbox my message is no longer visible. Messages are permanently in the gel, and so is my folder. I can't scroll upwards or downwards to display messages. No idea how I can solve this problem. Also, I am very new to the blackberry forum and technologically challenged, so please give advise me and directions in a version "Blackberry for Dummies." Thank you!

First of all, try a reboot simple: with the phone smart BlackBerry turned on, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.

If this does not it, open your Messages folder, press Menu > folders and access your SMS Inbox and delete the history of this user's SMS. Try to do the same thing in the SMS sending for the same user. Now, do a reboot.

    See if that helps.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS max 70 characters

Hello world. I am new user of BB and I have a problem with the SMS length. I found a few other posts on the Web on this topic but still no real answer.

My BB is a Pearl 8120 and I can't send simple messages SMS, more than 70 characters (they would be separated more than one sms).

My language is Italian (but I tried to switch to English) and the method of encoding for SMS is set to 7bits, so it is supposed to allow up to 160chars, but no way.

I wonder if it could be something related to my Italian phone operator (TIM), although I've never had similar problems with my previous cells. The Blackberry itself is TIM brand.

I already checked my settings according to the assignment following the size of messages SMS and data coding

    Any solution?

    Thanks to everyone will help.

    UPDATE: problem solved

I write to the solution of the problem, must it be useful to someone else...

    1st:

Sending SMS was not actually separated after 70 characters: it was just a problem with the number of characters displayed on the screen that was wrong. This is definitely a bug in the firmware

    2nd:

Update the firmware to the new version 4.5 and the fault is gone. Now it correctly displays the 160 characters!

    Bye!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS message sending error

My ISP changed my phone and my sim card, but I rarely can I send sms messages.  The error message is "Short Message Transfer Rejected".  Why won't?

Via Vodafone eForum, I was told to drop the zero of my phone contacts list.  This solves the problem.  However, the same list of contacts (with leading zeros) worked well for SMS sending on my previous Blackberry 8800.

  • Problem with the blackBerry Smartphones SMS Inbox

I had problems with my Blackberry Torch 9860 sms Inbox.  The time and date that are on my phone are correct, but when I go to my sms Inbox, the date is showing that "May 22, 2043" and each message arrives at "12:08" no matter what time it really is.

    This is an easy fix?

    Thank you!

I ended up remove all the messages of this 'day', so he would not appear in the Inbox and now when I send or receive that he puts the messages in the right time.

I have nothing else it seemed to have settled himself.
