BlackBerry Smartphones 9360 missing 2 G Option ONLY!

Hi guys,.

First of all, this is my first post on the forums, so Hi all!

Second, I tried to do a search to see if maybe that someone else has not posted this before - can't seem to find it.

My question is this;

I've recently upgraded to a BB 9360 and with Vodacom in South Africa.

First thing I did after reception, the phone has been put in place nicely and want TO then change the options of the Mobile network to the network mode from 3G to 2G only, but alas, the only options open to me are 3G & 2 G or 3G.

What happened to the option for 2G only?

Now, I'm a paramedic in South Africa and my Bold 9780 battery last an entire shift (12 hours!) but it is with the 2G option ONLY.

So of course, I want to have this feature on my 9360!

I can't afford to go out and buy new batteries!

I did a bit of Googling and found that the option WAS available at some point, but then removed in the latest version which I think my phone is running: 7.1 Bundle 2039 (v7.1.0.714, platform 9.6.0.111)

Guide me on how to get option 2 G back ASAP please!

I do not expect to hear the excuse of "dependant network" because Vodacom said it is a problem of Blackberry.

Thank you!

Good news!

7.1 bundle 1133

This "downgrade" solved my problem.

New options!

3G

2G

3G & 2G

I am very happy!

  • BlackBerry Smartphone Message missing notification icons.

I've updated to a torch which has OS 6 on a curve running OS 4.5. The new OS seems to have changed the way new message are notified.

Previously, when an e-mail or an sms has been received a sound and/or LED would pass, depending on settings. In addition, letters or sms mailbox icon would have a small red indicator which remained until the email or sms has been read. This means that if you missed the actual notification that you could always tell instantly there is unread emails.

The torch that these red flags occur only when the message arrives so if you miss the notification, the only way to know if there is unread mail is to open the box. If this is due to the new operating system, it's a real setback by RIM.

However, I can't believe THAT RIM would be so stupid, so there must be a setting I need to change, even if I'm not. How can I get the icon to display unread messages?

I'll try that. Thanks for your advice.

  • BlackBerry® Smartphones email set up - an option is missing

I just got a new Curve 8320 and miss me the ability to add an e-mail account in the setup of the wizard.  The only options I have are for the company or to ignore the e-mail configuration.  No one knows why or how I can fix this problem?

It is generally a problem of service book and the carrier must provide the service for your phone book - give them a cry (and not on your BB), use a landline phone and they should be able to fix it.

  • Device Manager blackBerry Smartphones are missing from the phone

The Device Manager icon is missing from my Curve 8300. I suspect it might have been accidentally deleted. I need to change a setting, how can I get that back without my phone of stripping and reload the software? I can't find it in the Manager of office as an option to add on.

    Thanks in advance

    GOOSE

Well, you can not remove the Options/settings icon. You can only MOVE or hide it.

    Anyway... two options to try:

    1. with the BlackBerry device powered time, remove battery for a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

If it still does not appear, follow these steps:

    2. you set Homescreen shortcuts mechanism: to enable these shortcuts to work, you must have "Dial from home screen" set to "No" (go to the dialer (press the Green kley) > Options > General Options.)

Also note that you only need to press to get these applications - if you press the keys, then the appropriate number of speed dial is always composed.

Now, as the value, press the letter 'o' of the screen and your menu Options will appear.

  • BlackBerry smartphone Bold 9900 - shows new messages only

    Hello

I have a Blackberry Bold 9900. I'm new to Blackberry but find quite intuitive except that I'm not able to fix this little glitch. On my phone, I get new notifications of e-mail and I can see the e-mails from the notification at the top bar. However, when I go to the messages folder, I don't see any emails. New unread emails or existing emails. I can say I am connected to the Enterprise Server because I get new e-mail messages (can see them through notification), I can send emails and they delivered, but just nothing shows in the Messages. All this shows it's missed calls.

I can search for addresses of email from AddressBook and calendar synchronize / displays very well. Some emails are a problem.

    Any help is very appreciated.

Care phone below, let me know if I'm missing something!

    Thank you!

Administration team checks thereon. However, it's funny that calendar synchronizes and shows ok. I am able to send emails. I am able to read new messages in notifications only, but not to messages folder. I tried power market several times without success.

BUT - earlier I removed the battery and put it again and voila! the emails are all here now! I read this somewhere on the internet, but he also said that in a day or two it goes back to the new symptom. I have my emails at the moment and let's see what happens over the next few days. If the problem does not again surface I'll close this thread mark resolved. In the meantime, get more answers.

It def seems to be a glitch in Messages app because it's where the emails don't appear - rest everything works.

    Thanks for your advice!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones using missing synch for Blackberry Storm - does not contact sync etc.

Initially, I downloaded pocketmac, who has never worked at all. He even does recognize the blackberry on the mobile icon, so I bought your missing sync for blackberry download.
I've updated some contacts in the address book and then I set the plugin contact crush the next synchronization only. It did not work.

He wanted initially to delete all my contacts of device: error more than 5% of your contact records will be changed. So, I followed the steps that provide you technical support for it. backup ical and return on the database and do with the address book then reset isync. I re-entered my AddressBook updated some new contacts and added a few photos to their cards and changed preferences to include the job titles. Then I tried to sync again (after restart and reset blackberry app) he copied on some of the contacts in the address book and others with and without pictures?

On the blackberry in contacts, some have a space for an image to add and others not, despite me to add photos to the address book.

Also, I added a map for me because I was instructed to do when I tried to send an invitation ical for a participant to a photo shoot and told me: you must create an address for yourself card in the address book of Mac OS X, but I created a? This means constantly every time.

I just did the last synchronization, ical appointments worked, but I got an error message at the end saying:
The calendar that you specified for tasks that are created on the device is no longer exists. Please, open the settings of the plugin dialog box tasks and select another calendar.
Tasks: There is a problem with the plugin configuration tasks. Please, open the settings of the plugin of the tasks dialog box and make sure that the settings are correct.
I'm not sure what that means that there is no such thing as the plugin configuration task on the blackberry storm, that I can find.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I will pass this on too many other press photographers in London which are all looking forward to register for the new storm, but will probably have much less patience and perseverance than me who happens to start all
    Best regards
    Juliette

I intend as a result tomorrow when my Storm (could actually be a couple of days, but I promise you, as soon as POSSIBLE). However, on your Mac, in the address book application follow these steps if you do not.

    (1) (to select the map that you created yourself (highlighted)

    (2) in the map menu, select make this card my card

Just because you created a card with your info is not enough.

Hope this helps, & hope I can help more as soon as POSSIBLE!

  • BlackBerry 8820 Blackberry Smartphones is missing its icon "e-mail setup".

My wife is this BB online, unlocked.   We live in an area that is a little behind the curve and our data GSM service is almost useless.  8820 was chosen because of the wifi which can connect to most of the places she goes.

I had a few problems of implementation.  The phone ' 100% brand-new "which has been listed as if by magic on ebay got some inside information.  The seller swears that it was due to a careless technician during the unlocking process.  I don't know if the problems I have now are remnants of the unlocking process.

That being said, here is my question.  I'm new to the BB so patient with me.  We do NOT use data of moble data GSM from our supplier.  As far as our carrier is concerned, it is a phone.  We use wifi to browse in the House and we would read our email POP of our Web site.  I have configured outlook for these e-mail accounts.  We are NOT a large company and do NOT have that one full IT Department to keep this thing running.

I have no icon for 'email facility.  I have read many posts on the issue and have had little result.  I checked in options-> advanced-> applications.   It shows 'installation application 4.5.0 email' but I have no way to setup e-mail account a simple POP.

The basic software and Blackberry system is 4.5.0

    Where is my icon!

I'm saying this is a simple request, lets get this work so that we can for the really difficult things.

    Thanks for your time

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

The icon, what you are talking about is the interface for device for BIS. BIS is BlackBerry Internet Service, a service offered by your operator, to build a bridge between your BB and e-mail systems connected to the internet. BIS is a service provider that comes with the data of your carrier plan. Your carrier think your device is just a phone, they are not then providing data on your phone, which means that the icon is not there since it is linked to your provider data services.

Which, therefore, it must be, isn't the e-mail provided by BIS services. You need something else... a 3rd party email, compatible with your BB app, which will allow you to email (via their interface - without going through BB messaging interface) on your WiFi only and never on the cover of your company's data. Frankly, I don't know quite how to do this, especially for your email private pop There are probably some solutions out there - you should dig for those rather than a method of configuring e-mail on BIS.

GMail offers an add-on app, compatible with a lot of BB, which manages the GMail e-mail. I don't know if it works on WiFi only, but you who could give a thought. You would have to do something to get your e-mail to GMail, but at least you will be able to validate if an app of the add-on can exist without a data network of carriers being required. If you want to try, just use your BB browser to go to the GMail login page and there will be a link that says something like 'More quickly get the GMail'... click on that and it will install the add-on to GMail for your BB. Make sure that you already have a GMail account set up to configure it in the app and run the test.

You can also try to configure your e-mail account webmail interface... then you might browse their via WiFi using the BB browser.

    Just some thoughts...

    Good luck!

  • Records of blackBerry Smartphones / suddenly missing icons

I don't know exactly how to describe it - I just a few hours ago.  But I turned it and turn it back on and I received a message (several in fact) on the detected errors.  The only option was to say 'ok '.  Now, I have a few icons (browser is one) missing and my e-mail folders are not accessible, but they are there because I tried to add again email accounts and they are already there.

my camera photo and video icons/folders also are missing.

example of error message (it just popped up again)

    untrapped exception:

    application

net_rim_bb_messaging_app (172) does not: process is completed.

and my only choice is 'ok '.

I got it fixed!  I removed and reinserted the battery.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones! There is no option available on my handset email configuration

He was bought as a new unlocked phone and I can not set up an e-mail account. It does give me not the option in the menu only to create an account with the company of bb Server! I've been on the support pages and he says that the PIN and EMEI do not match! can anyone figure a way around this? Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

To use the Push RIM owner messaging capability, you must have an adequate data of your carrier plan. Carriers host BIS BB users. In general, BIS is not available through generic data plans. Several ships make stop what is needed the Blackberry data plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier that delivers BIS users of BB - contact - the for assistance. Once you have a compatible BIS data plan on your BB (fees regardless of your carrier will charge, btw), then you will have personal email added to the e-mail Setup Wizard.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

From the home screen press the menu key twice, now all the icons are displayed.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones frozen "missed call" icon-HELP!

I can not get rid of an icon "missed calls". I deleted all call logs and took out the battery, and so far nothing has worked. I don't want to remove the software and reinstall it, but if I have to I guess I will.

    Hello

Did you delete the logs of calls using your device or Desktop Manager. If you haven't tried the Desktop Manager option, you can try to simply remove the call logs database by using the backup and restore and then click Advanced. Then scroll down to the phone call logs, then it empty. The advanced option came handy when I wanted to erase all my calendar entries.

  • Problems of browser to blackBerry Smartphones. Missing service book.

    Hello!

I have a blackberry storm 9500 from the Germany. I am located in Yerevan (Armenia). It seems that there are several problems with my smartphone:

    1. when I try to connect to the browser, the following message appears: «your device has no currently all entries in book of Service Configuration Browser.» Please contact your service provider to enable the browser on the device"or next:"It seems that your device does not have an installed service WAP2.0 book."

    2. I can't find the networks without wire in my phone.

    3. I can send info via bluetooth, but it cannot receive (after the coupling with other phones of course).

    4. can I transfer my messages in the "SMS SIM Card Inbox" folder in the folder "Inbox SMS"?

    Thank you in advance!

No problem!  I'm just sorry I can't do more to help!  If you explain in detail the situation of your carrier, I hope they can get you operational.  You may also call Vodafone in Germany to see if they will release your phone IMEI # and PIN # in order to work with your network.  Unfortunately I don't know a lot about this fact (just what I've seen here on the forums), but maybe someone else who has done this before will see this and can help more!

If you do not hear anything someone else on this, try to start a new thread with the following title: "need help with get data service on a Storm 9500 unlocked from a different network."

This should be able to get more attention to others who have experienced similar problems and managed to solve it.

  • Icon text of blackBerry Smartphones is missing!

Somehow, I deleted the text icon.  Can someone help me get back on my screen?  I can still text, but it's a pain because I need to go through the database of contacts.

First of all, while you are on your home screen press the menu button and see all is an option.  You maybe just hid the icon and pressing it will display it.

If this isn't the case, reload your OS.  To do this, connect your phone to your PC via USB and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  If you have not installed on your computer, type www.blackberry.com/desktop in the browser on your PC.  Once you have your phone on and the software has recognized, click device at the top of the software and the restoration in the drop-down list.  Choose the most recent restore point and proceed.  This will put the SMS icon on your home screen.

Let us know if that helps you.
