BlackBerry smartphones can not get the Desktop Manager to recognize the connection to the device
I tried for days now to get the Desktop Manager to recognize a connection on my phone so that I can sync my Outlook contacts and calendar. So far, I deleted and reinstalled the Manager several times. I downloaded and installed the driver package. I tried to do a battery pull before connecting the phone.
Whenever I connect the phone Microsoft "new hardware found" Wizard opens and it recognizes the Blackberry device but it cannot complete the installation of the phone because apparently missing a driver.
I love the phone, but it is useless for me until and unless I can sync it with Outlook. Any suggestions?
OK, I found and fixed the problem! It had to do with the new Windows assistant material not being able to find the driver for the Blackberry device. When I did the uninstall process part included saving the pilot atl.dll. I assumed it was the driver that I needed to make things work. I searched on the C: drive for the file, and when the new device Wizard came I pointed to the spot. The Assistant began to load the driver. He asked another file that is part of the Service Pack 2 of Windows and I searched and found this one as well and directed the Assistant for her. It finishes loading and the device is connected.
The problem at the end of the day was that the wizard could not find the driver that he needed, even if it is there all the time.
Thank you for the help, it lead me to the solution I needed.

BlackBerry Smartphones how spend off the Desktop Manager to auto start when I turn on my PC?
I have a laptop DELL Lattitude 420.
I installed the software Blackberry "BOLD".
Everything works fine. So far so good.
My laptop has 2Gig RAM and it's very fast to start when it is first turned on.
However, the start-up time is 5 minutes from now when I have to turn it on and then can start using other applications on my laptop.
Because the "BOLD" Blackberry Desktop Manager takes so long to get into action.
Why the BB Desktop Manager tries to turn on automatically whenever I start up the laptop?
How can I disable my BB Desktop Manager so to start as soon as my computer is turned on?
See my post here to find out how to disable that

BlackBerry Smartphones backup images via the Desktop Manager
When I perform a full backup using the desktop software, it load the backups by looking at my most important files (messages & insertion etc.) but I never see it back up my images that I took with the camera.
All images are stored on my media card when I use the camera on my blackberry. When you perform a save as above, these images get stored on?
Many people use SyncToy to synchronize your card (or a folder in) to your PC.
Sync is backup difference, same.

Smartphones from blackBerry Desktop Manager for Mac KB19454 error message
Hi all
I am new to the community and would appreciate any help. I have two recent problems for which I'm looking for troubleshooting tips. The priority problem is first mentioned below.
I just met this error message, "For help to resolve this problem, refer to KB19454 in the Knowledge Base of BlackBerry Desktop Manager" when trying to sync my Curve 8320. I use a Mac and I've not met difficulties of synchronization for downloading the new version of Desktop Manager for Mac in December/January. I was not able to download the last updated however. I saw a post initially by a user who has the same problem, but I didn't know the question, and so I am hopeful of possible suggestions for resolution.
The other problem I have experienced recently, it's that I can't compose an SMS/MMS message. I can only answer to someone's message. When I try to send just one, by default back to the list of messages.
Please Note: I don't have wireless on my phone. I use Blackberry Desktop Manager Version 1.0.1
Also note that I am not able to access e-mail messages per day, but will try to return answers / inquires as quickly as possible.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Hi and welcome to the Forums!
For your first question, I can't tell if you still worked through the reference KB... If not, you can find it here.
For your second question, I'm not sure... but maybe it will help you:
- Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.
Best!

I'm as frustrated, I'm on my third storm (two other crapped the bed) and I manually go all my stuff!
PocketMac - did not work
Missing Sync - not what I was looking for!

BlackBerry Smartphones how do you remove Desktop Manager
A few weeks ago, I installed Desktop Manager. For several reasons, I want to uninstall when I tried the uninstall program, he said:
Uninstall failed:
Components of some BlackBerry® Desktop Manager may not have been removed from your
computer. Try to re-boot and start again.
No idea how to make sure that it's all gone? Some have mentioned to use a program called AppZapper, but is there a list of the files that are installed?
FYI: When I installed DM he says that he will make other unusable synchronization programs. Currently, I can synchronize with Missing Sync, but only if I press the button "sync" of the Mac. If I try to press the "sync" on the BB, nothing happens (it worked before installing DM) tells me that not all DM components have been removed.
Any help with the names and locations of all the components of DM would be appreciated.
Poking around in the BDM uninstall program, I found the a file called uninstall.sh... The content here:

BlackBerry smartphone how to download the file Word for Blackberry 9700
How to download word for blackberry 9700?
I launch Desktop Manager-> Media-> Media Manager, but it fails. But I can't find any icon to transfer files from PC to device Backberry word.
My Blackberry is 9700, V5.0.0.330 (Platform 5.1.0.91)
A word document is not that a media file would be my first assumption on why it would fail using the Media Manager.
Have you tried attaching the file to an e-mail and send to yourself or the document and connect your device to your PC and drag and drop into document folder in the memory of your device or media?

I just installed Desktop Manager on my PC (Windows XP).
Contacts sync fine.
Calendar does not synchronize:
"Schedule of playback device" is fine.
"Treatment device calendar" is fine.
'Reading of MS Outlook calendar' is where the error occurs:
Desktop Manager starts to read Outlook 988 items and constantly stops at the point #227, with one of the two error messages:
(1) ' reported Intellisync, unknown error"or
(2) 'operation ended unexpectedly.'
I followed the directions for:
How to enable advanced logging for Intellisync because of the failure of the synchronization to the BlackBerry smartphone

This operation required that I change the iloptcfg.cfg file.
Still no luck. any suggestions?
around on this issue... the only way I found to fix this was to reset the device completely and synchronize "fresh" from my computer. Note: has happened since then, and every time that it is when I use the camera to change a recurring APPT. For now, my lessons learned: whenever I need to edit or delete a recurring appt, I do it from the computer so I do not get locked out of sync to the storm.

BlackBerry Smartphones Desktop manager for mac do not sync with the calendar
Director of office has started to give me a sync error yesterday when synchronizing the calendar. I get no error message for the contacts. I use the mac Desktop Manager. I've never had this problem before. I put Update Manager Office yesterday after the sync error, but that has not fixed the problem.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for the reply yancy.
This error message do you receive? You only synchronize Ical or Entourage?
Also have you tried to forget the device and re-configuration of the synchronization?
To forget the camera, go to device > forget device. Unplug the BlackBerry, re-connect the Mac.
I look forward to your reply.

BlackBerry smartphones can not install the Desktop software
When I try to install Desktop Manager, the following error message will appear:

Finally found a solution. The cause is, "VeriSign Class 3 Code signing CA" certificate is missing and is not in the link provided by RIM in "Knowledge Base" or the site Web of VeriSign (!) but thanks to google I found this.
