  Yes, I solved the problem by choosing a password that is shorter and more simple, i.e. digital all or all letters seems to work. You must disable encryption so that the phone will allow you to change the password and the turn it back on once you have finished.

  My guess is that encrypt the content in the background with a password alphanumeric mixed dark was taking too long & does not complete until the phone has been reduced from the mode standby or turned off at the end of the day.   Official support of BlackBerry Twitter weren't much help. They suggested that encryption works only when it is connected to BES & BIS as I am. Obviously isn't true since my crypt phone now on BIS as it should.

  Thank you sdgardne... That was fast.  . I tried several times to reduce security at most down and finally removed all software blackberry from my main computer and installed from blackberry website.  I got a new set screen but it didn't lose any of its data.  I don't have to enter a password.

  If you enter your password wrong PK a set number of times, ONLY that the data stored in password keeper is removed - not the whole device data.
