Backup blackBerry Smartphones opening files

I can not open the backup ipd files.

Hello

Backup files keep data for the desktop software to restore on your phone if necessary. Cannot open files that they can only be read by other software (for example, the Desktop software).

You can try a third-party program such as ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter for the assistance this program can apparently read the data stored in the backup .ipd files.

    Hi Bbnoviceja

Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support

Regarding your backup problem, plug your device and run BlackBerry Desktop Software for windows in the office software click Devive > delete data > data choose selected > scroll social power database > mark it and whose losses. Once this part is deleted, try to perform a full backup.

KB29522 : "Backup of database error" message is generated to Database Options smart card when you back up the smart phone BlackBerry with the BlackBerry Desktop Software

Regarding your second question with memory, remember that you have the memory card and then try to transfer these multimedia files from your device to your media card memory:

  • Backup BlackBerry Smartphones get BB protect compared to the clouds

    Hello world

I tried the manual backup yesterday by the site Web de Blackberry Protect. I successfully backed up the first time and made a few changes on my BB Curve 9300. Freed from some space by deleting messages and other data. I also want to return to the top of that State or to this specific point, I did the backup through the site Web of Protect. To my surprise (and I'm not aware) the new backup crushed my previous where in I need important messages I deleted expects that the backup will just create another set of backup rather than crush the other.

My question is. Are there opportunities that I can restore this backup?

After a few searches on Google and read messages. I knew that the backup is saved in the cloud that has lost the chances of recovering data backup with recovery tools that I can use.  I thought that if I can retrieve/recover deleted files and even formatted disks, technical staff of BB Protect or RIM could do the same and help me with my problem.

Hope my message reached the Cloud for RIM or BB Protect administrator.

    Thanks in advance.

    Anthony

Hello and welcome to the community!

First of all... this site is not a channel for any official communication with, support, or climbing to the RIM. This site is a community of users for volunteers who are trying their best to help each other, but we have no access to any system "back-end" to act on your request. If you really need official support from RIM, you must start with your support contract required string that starts with your mobile service provider, which can degenerate case RIM free of charge to the end user if such is always appropriate.

There is something called incident support, but it costs to just ask the original question, since you are not through the contract, you signed at the time of purchase. If you want to study, you can check it out here:

OK... with that of the road, see:

    • KB25063 How to use BlackBerry Protect to restore data on a BlackBerry smartphone

According to who, it should actually be different dates you can use BB Protect backups. If they are not, however, appear for one reason or another, they are not available to you through any means automatic... and you would need official support (above) of a human being to the RIM to see if it can be recovered.

All this said, I hope that you are not solely on BB Protect for your backup needs. BB Protect only back up (I think) 8 databases, which is a small subset of all the content of all of your valuable data. FYI, here's the process that I always recommend:

Daily - configure BB Protect to save what he can, preferring to WiFi if the network of consumer data carrier is a matter of concern.

    Weekly:

If you're not up to BBM7, then manually save your BBM contacts to the memory of your device or Media Card

    There is an old saying:

    • There are two types of computers of users of devices - those who have lost data and those who will be

As insurance, the backups are reactive or an optional activity. And this process, in my humble OPINION, provides the best protection of all the valuable data that is kept on their BB. When you compare BB Protect backup actually compared this process to protect, I think you will find that the difference is very large. In addition, this process would give you 100% control to keep the previous backups.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones opening of attachments

I believe that this has already been covered, but I can't find the answer.  I have a curve 9300 OS6.  For some reason any I can no longer open attachments to emails.  The files seem to be renamed winmail.dat and the messege is "the type of attachment can be seen on the device", no matter what type of file it was originally (.mp3, .jpg, etc.).  It seems that this has just started happening in the last day or two.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

    See this KB:

    • KB05409 Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones

Replace the instructions appropriate for your other device instead of the transmitter unit KB section in the KB. Since you are on BB OS 6, the stage of "Receive using BT" is irrelevant.

  • BlackBerry smartphones open the file extension. BBB for my torch 9630

I need to open my backup files but the extension. BBB is not recognized.

Hello and welcome to the community!

The backup files are proprietary, intended only to serve as a source of data for the restoration of a BB. Therefore, they are not readable on the computer. But there are many 3rd party computer there applications that can analyze and present data in human readable format... search (e.g., Google) and you will find, I am sure.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones opening media files

Using the BlackBerry Media Manager I transferred a number of audio files for my BlackBerry Curve. However, I don't seem to be able to play them. I did the following: during the transfer, I chose the conversion proposed for optimal playback. When I view the files on my BlackBerry (adding them as an attachment to an e-mail), I see that they are found on my press card and have the .m4a format, similar to other files that I can play. Mass storage mode (never used yet) my pocket computer is not connected to my computer. Also, I had a number of songs (albums) on my handheld I used to be able to access but cannot anymore, even if I see that they are still on my press card. Any suggestions?

After the download of several multimedia files on your Blackberry, sometimes you have to do a reset. It is done to remove the battery while the blackberry is in place, wait a bit, then plug it back. Your Blackberry will start up (can take up to a few minutes), then see if your files are better.

  • Problem of restore contacts backup blackBerry Smartphones

I recently changed jobs and so Exchange Microsoft Outlook facilities, servers, etc..  I had a number of personal contacts in my Blackberry "BOLD" I wanted to keep in this transition period.  I used the Blackberry Desktop software on my Windows 7 PC to create a number of backup files in my Blackberry.  Then I reset the Blackberry and set up to talk to my new employer's e-mail server.  The new email works fine, but I can't restore my old contacts (I want to bring into my phone and the new perspective).

I tried using the option 'Restore data from a Backup file' in the menu select device in the Blackberry Desktop Software, then using the data device and settings (I only attempt to restore the option "Address Book - All").  When I do that, I get a dialog box with the warning, "your current data will be overwritten."  I click Yes to continue.  Then, I get a message of restoration (it shows the file name and the path for my backup that points to my old backup file).  However, when I check my contacts, they aren't there.  It was only the only contact I entered my new installation of Outlook (I think it must be sync to Outlook).

Does anyone have a solution to restore my contacts?  Failiing this, is there a utiility that will allow me to see the contact information stored in the backup file?  I can re - key it (ugh), if I can get a no binary version to read.

    Try this,

go to the options - advanced options-, then service book, find where it says desktop [sync] and delete it, now go and try to restore your contacts once you have done this, go to see if it worked if she did so great back the book location service support that the menu button and tap on restore to bring the desktop [sync].

  • Reviews of blackBerry Smartphones PDF files

My Bold 9700 does not consider the PDF files from the file browser or links.  It seems that this is not a native function.  If Yes... What are the free options or software comercial?

Adobe does not seem to offer anything to the BlackBerry or the other.

    Thank you!

A new convert to Palm for BB I was really surprised to see that I couldn't open a PDF on my BB "BOLD". It wouldn't have occurred to me that a reader of PDF was not included! rrrrr... So now a PDF reader was the first app that I actually paid for. I am not happy, BB has forced me to buy a player, but I chose RepliGo and I am happy with the software: http://cerience.com/products/reader/index.htm another, you can see, not either free, is BeamReader http://www.slgmobile.com/beamreader.html

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Media files appear not.

Recently recived a Blackberry Torch 9810. It was working fine, but yesterday I bought a new 4g SIM and a 4gig memory card and now media I download files will not be displayed once wherever I can see them is when it is pluged into the computer. A way to solve this problem?

Sometimes... some media files immediately will not appear in the list Preview until the cache of the device has been reset (which will happen with a reboot of the BlackBerry device).

So for now, open your icon media > press the Menu key > Explorer and navigate to the folder in which you KNOW you saved the file.
