My play button is damaged and pulled out the game. It is not only a play button, but also unlock and mute button. What should I do? Can I get replacements? I just used the Curve 9300 for 11 months. Please advise...

If the device is still under a year then tender back to your service provider or where you bought the device for warranty

    Thanks for the tip.  I tried this morning and still had the same result, but I could see more details on media files.  Specific, I have seen that almost all media files were Windows Media files (only a few were MP3).

    I've tested a few and I saw that the MP3 files play without any problem.

    I converted my music files and that seems to have solved the problem.

    So for anyone having the same problem, try to look at the details of the file.  If it was registered as a wmv file test convert to MP3 (your Roxio software can do this re loading files) and you can have the fix.

    If someone can tell me why does not support the new media player wmv would be great.

    Age of your device is not relevant. If your usage patterns consume a lot of resources, it's the situation. But I have no way of knowing what your habits are, so I can't guide you. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

    In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.   • BlackBerry Smartphones lock button does not work after update

    Since the last update on my Blackberry Bold 9780 the 'lock' button no longer works.  How to solve this?

    You can try without decommissioning of your BlackBerry smartphone to the previous version to test it for me?

    Plug your smart phone BlackBerry on your PC and then launch the BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Before you do anything that this, backup your device.  Then click on the device and then update.  Choose see other Versions in the pop up screen then choose 6.0.0.461 from the list.

    If you can try this when you have the opportunity, so I would like to know if the lock button works, it will be useful in the diagnosis, be it a bug of software or a physical problem with the device.  You can let me know the results.

  • BlackBerry smartphones is this a problem with my Bold 9700 flash memory?

    A few annoying problems recently with my Bold 9700.

    First, my Blackberry has suddenly started to massively delete recent appointments in my calendar, which will attempt to remove them from my Outlook calendar when I synchronize the device to my laptop.  This has not happened before, and I checked to make sure that the schedule is set to never delete nominations, and it is set correctly.

    Second, my Blackberry App World application (both on the device and online) does not display one of my installed applications, except one, but they are all still on the device and working properly.  I'm 18 apps installed from BB App World, beyond the pre-installed applications on the device, which are less than 10 MB in total size.

    The reason I think that the problem could be linked to the internal flash memory is that whenever I want to install an application, I usually get a message indicating there is enough memory and I have to uninstall some other applications to free up space.  When I checked my memory earlier, he said that had less than 1 MB.  I restarted the machine and now it tells me there is 12.2 MB of available space, which always seems incredibly low for me since I installed only about 10 MB of my own applications.  So, I delete the file all attachments of the device and do not keep e-mail on the device beyond 30 days, and all media is stored on flash cards, not in the device memory.

    The most important question I have to solve is how to prevent the device to delete data from calendar (it keeps recurring appointments, but has been deleted and everything before about two weeks ago).

    It's an automatic protection mechanism with BBs. During the AppMemory (not the device, no media memory card memory) get low, the BB must start deleting things to preserve its ability to operate.     My BB used to plant recently and does not start until I have remove and replace the battery, yesterday I was on a call when it crashed I have replaced the battery, but he would not return to the top!

    I read the previous posts however I could not find a solution, I know that this is not a screen problem because when I blace battery I get "Blackberry" and the loading bar, it loads for 2 ~ 3 seconds then the white screen, seen a lot of posts to check the application loader but I don't have it on my PC.

    My PC cannot connect to the device, I removed the battery and plugged to upgrade, but my BB is on the latest version.

    But, to start your diagnostic efforts, I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

    If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

    If there is no Safe Mode, I suggest that you test to see if your battery is causal. Please try this sequence... Note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must be directly connected to a charger checked (not PC USB, not a docking station):

    1. With battery, connect your BB to the wall charger
    2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Wait 15 minutes
    5. Insert the battery
    6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not

    This has been known to "revive" some BBs.

    It is also possible that your battery or BB has encountered a problem... to test, this sequence is necessary:

    1. Get a known good and already fully charged battery... use it in your BB and see what happens
    2. Get access to a BB good and the same known... use your battery in there and see what happens

    The results of this will show if your BB or your battery that has the problem. Carefully note please that 'new' and 'know' are not necessarily the same things. Although rare, a 'new' battery could certainly be defective. On the contrary, the easiest (and cheapest, btw) method to perform this test is to find someone with an identical BB which has no problem... trade in batteries and see what happens.

    Otherwise, then you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

    Please uninstall AppWorld options > device > application management.

    Scroll down to BlackBerry AppWorld > delete.

    PROBLEMS OF THE APP WORLD... I get "there was a problem during the installation, please try again" when you try to download the app updates or download new applications of any kind. I tried to return the service directories and empty the cache. I also called my service provider and they offer no help for me. Is there any solution for this or does have the phone must be sent in the RIM, I always left a guarantee. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM!

    I got my BB Torch 9800 for a few months. Already used to work properly, all my emails used appears in the messages folder. But these days, when I get emails my bb flashes red and it shows on the top of screen email icon. But when I open my messages folder shows an empty without any email folder, even though I can see the icon of e-mail showing pending emails there. I'm aware of this option which, if I press menu bb and then tap show all, my e-mail address with my name will appear. This way I can display the e-mails received. But I don't want to use this option, because I prefer all my emails go to the messages folder, that way I can have more space to download other applications. Please help and any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Note: if I recharge my camera all e-mails shows up in the messages folder. I don't want to reboot my device whenever I face this prblem.

    You might have a problem with your database of Messages. Try to clear the database and tests of new messages.

    Everytime I try and you receive a file it just won't let me. The green check mark and I wonder a passcode for both devices. Even when password entered it just says 'fail' (or something like that) so I did not wrong password what is the likely problem or the fix for this please?

    If I had the wrong password for my 8220 a) which is the default provided with the phone and b) how I could change me if I don't know that I'd put it please?

    Another strange thing is if people try to send me Bluetooth transfers and I'll connect my phone doesn't send them my contact list, it's very frustrating, any ideas please? I'm getting a little tired by telephone with this problem and if I can't fix them I'll take another brand of phone when my contract is up, anyone else facing things daft spoiul another nice phone?

    App world tells me on the right side of the page that my machine is connected (which is) via the USB port. I tried the phone turned off, taking the battery for more than a minute to be sure, restart the phone, restart the computer and try again with no luck.

    I also tried several browsers, Chrome and Firefox.

    I tried in IE and it works. Went back to Firefox and Chrome, and it does not work. But the interesting thing is a friend tried his blackberry on my computer and it works fine in Firefox.

    EDIT: I found the problem, I deleted the App World Plugin from my computer and reinstalled Firefox and it works. Why it does not detect that I use a plugin obsolete?

    Anyway, problem solved.

    I hope someone can help me with this problem. I have Documents to go Version 1.005 installed on my 8900. I can access the program without any problem, but it do NOT open or acknowledge all the Word documents that are sent to me via attachments to emails.

    The attachment is displayed as one? and I said 'this type of attachment not available on your device' and 'you are about to download a file that cannot be played on your Blackberry device' when you try to download the file.

    I can create a Word doc on the phone and check it but when I try to send it to me it tells me that 'the Document Conversion has failed.

    I moved the same word docs to my phone via the USB port and store the media card and I can't open them no problem, this is not a problem of file.

    The problem is with the conversion of the attachment from the device by email so I guess I have a wrong setting somewhere.

    All can help me with I / change in order to fix this?

    Your question is not Word to Go... Just got the phone with rim... Have a BB 8900 (t-mobile), new as of 11/02/09.  For Outlook 2003 (and), you will need to change the "plain text" option of HTML or Rich Text... In outlook, go to tools-options-mail format - choose "plain text" in the menu drop-down... Click apply... then try and send a word doc to yourself to your home e-mail systems... My problem (same as yours) works perfectly... it did take a while for the rim to realize what was going on.  The 8900 is a great phone.

    I'm enjoying my new blackberry curve. I added the music on my blackberry. I can play music. I can turn the music off. I can contiue playing music while doing other things. However how to stop music without turining the phone is off. I'm obviously dense but nothing I've tried has worked so far.

    In addition to this solution if you really want to stop the song, rather than a break, the button to the right of the button play/pause sqaure actually "cease" the track of the game.
