BlackBerry Smartphones Sim not free - Blackberry 8520 - no settings

Hello

My wife just brought me a 8520 sim free for my birthday.

thought I could just my 02 sim in!

02a phone - totally useless, mumbled on a whole bunch of sim card

by direct debit - and then cut me off!

Is it possible that I can use a WAP, Imonly collect emails Setup

Gmail account and do not really give 02 access to my

banking data.

Apparently I don't have picture messaging either, simply send SMS

at the present time. Don't know if orange PAYG is not better?

Any help Grateful received.

Its known as a BB on the bolt.

You can choose any Sim only plan best fits your texts and minutes of use.

For example, go here:

http://shop.O2.co.UK/SIM-only-simplicity

Select any plan, and then click Add to CART.

The next page will then see the "do you want a Blackberry bolt on" and give you three options.

One that you need the Blackberry unlimited UK.

(its cheaper to use and cheaper than the international).

Both 3rd and 4th in the list (link), bolt of BB on is FREE, but will cost you at a lower rate.

To get the WAP works, you need to go to options - advanced - browser

change the option at the top of the WAP page or whatever it is its equivalent possibly mention O2

(i.e. t-mobile WAP browser is T-Zones)

And save.

This would open the WAP browser whenever you click the browser icon.

But if you want to use the wi - fi then you need to change this option to return.

If your BlackBerry does not accept the SIM card, it's a GOOD thing.  This means that he found something wrong with it and is unable to continue to provide you with your BIS, which are the important things like BBM, email, internet, facebook, twitter, etc..

The solution?  Take your phone to your carrier, tell them that the SIM card isn't good, get another and come out happy.

    I hope that helped you.

  • BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphones will not recognize the new SIM card

I recently got a Bold 9900 as a gift. In my view, that the phone has been used on the Orange network.

I tried replacing the original Orange SIM card with my SIMcard "pay-as-you-go" three, when I turn on the phone I get the message "SIM not recognized" and a dialog box asking me to enter a code to unlock the SIM card.

Because this means that the phone is locked on Orange network. If so, how can I get the unlock code for the new SIM card?

Hello and welcome to the community!

You have in fact potentially two issues to deal with... When BBs are made, they are "locked" to their original media and cannot be used on any other carrier up to this MEP is unlocked. Reference:

But the error you say does not quite what I'd expect from an MEP lock... but please check after the above and see if your BB is indeed MEP locked... If so, then Yes you need to unlock it until you can use it on any other carrier.

Or - some SIM cards are delivered with a code of their own necessary to unlock and use. But the supplier of the SIM card which should also give unlock code you with this (if that's what applies to your situation).

So, I suggest you check to see if your device is still locked MEP... If so, get a code (you may have to pay) and unlock it. Then try the SIM card again. If it still fails then your SIM card provider.

In addition, please check with your mobile service provider preferred 100% certain that your BB model is 100% compatible with their network for all services.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not CONNECT to THE SERVER

Hello need help. My Blackberry Curve 8520 (OS 5.0.0.1036) does not connect to the server. It shows my network (Vodafone) and gets a strong signal; makes and receives calls; connect wifi; but it is also completely static. After the first Setup email screen I get: your device has a connection to the server problm.  (I think it means the Blackberry server?)  So I can not connect any email.  Very well in my other near-identical Curve 8520 Sim Card work.  How can I do please?  Y at - it a reset or software update is complete I can undertake? Thank you, Michael

I can help you with the it policy... lack of procedure for access to the BES server, this (and only this) cleanse a BB to an it policy:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

If you do a backup/restore, don't do this basically... rather, backup/restore only the databases specific you need (for example, calendar, contacts, messages, etc.) and more precisely to avoid data bases having something to with COMPUTER policy, business, etc.. If you restore those, the it policy will be conscientiously restored to the device, and you will be right where you are now.

As for a BES Server trying to reach out... There is nothing that I can offer you. Your best bet is to talk to your provider and make sure you have no BES-level service enabled on your account of them. Who should (note 'should'... is there no guarantees) prevent a BES server to reach out and the reactivation of your device.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry 8520

Hi, I love my Blackberry 8520. Had it a year now, but am I alone in thinking that the camera on this device is totally desperate. The images have no definition, and are too blurry. The installation of "zoom" appears completely dead. Everything else is great, but I would not recommend this model to use as a camera phone. Anyone who has views on my comments?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones unlock and free apps...

Is it possible to get free applications (which are not free). In addition, it is a difficult process to "unlock" my phone? I don't know if it's what it's called.

I have a Curve 8520. I've been thinking unlock because there are so many things on my phone! I am very happy, but I can't spend all that money on it. And if it was unlocked, I would be able to purchase/get these paid apps free? Or is it just do it because Blackberry App World is separated from my unit?

And what are the other features that were not there before on an unlocked device? Would you recommend it? Would it be possible to restore my settings by default return alias to an original "locked" phone?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The apps are either free are paid. You legal can't get a paid app for free. But then, why worry. There are so many free apps available without its problems. All my apps are free.

If your device is "locked" to a carrier is quite irrelevant in regards to the apps and features. While the main BB services are provided support, there is little difference. It is possible to have a device locked to company and load the OS from another carrier. It would be beneficial if your carrier existing only supplied OS 4, but you wanted OS 5 (the best you will get on a 8520).

So unlock the device from your current provider is possible, that it won't earn what you want.

  • BlackBerry Q5 network blocked due to sim not valid

Nice day! I had a problem with my blackberry SQR100 q5-2, my first sim card in the device was sim Smart Communications and it works fine. After 6 months I switched to Globe Telecom 3 weeks of use, it works very well also. But recently I received notification "NETWORK LOCKED" after that I can't use my phone, it always says "Insert Sim/Sim not detected" I wipe data, reset time and nothing happened. I also put my Smart Sim and still does not work. When I checked the SIM card settings "device is ready to be used on the network" but I can't use even for another sim card. pls help thank you.

Reload your operating system all first using BlackBerry link. Then, if she is still unable to read your SIM card, it is probably a hardware problem. Follow what is recommended above, contact your dealer.

    Hi joanarose,

Select your APN and then type this: http.globe.com.ph.

    On BlackBerry® smartphones 6:

    1. Since the smartphone, go to Options > device > Advanced system settings > TCP IP
    2. Check APN settings active

OK, I can't say enough. But I'm like described KB as a lack of policy is NOT what you have, which means that you have a COMPUTER policy on your device. It's just weird because I've never seen a COMPUTER policy like what you describe, but then of course I have not seen anyone.

So, I think (it's more than that, actually) is that you do indeed have a policy COMPUTER on your device that may well be the reason for the failure of the installation, you encounter.

If it's a working or otherwise associated with certain BES service device, then you need to talk to anyone who provides the BES service on your problem... they control what is the it policy.

If this is not a working device and/or you do not subscribe to any service of BES-level from anyone, then the conjecture is that you have received this camera as previously used, and the previous owner didn't properly clean the it policy, leaving you with a latent policy causing you these problems. To remedy this situation, you must make sure you have a full backup, according to the link in my sig auto on my posts. Then proceed you to this:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

Once finished, your device will be like new again, with nothing on it... No. data, no added applications, etc. If you continue to restore the backup, do not forget that you DO NOT make a simple full restore... restore instead, only those databases that you need (e.g., contacts, calendar, etc.) and more precisely to avoid any database that have nothing to do with BES, business, political, etc. If you restore that contains the it policy, it he will dutifully restore your BB and you will be right where you are now.

    Good luck!
