BlackBerry Smartphones Spinning hourglass

I was yesterday in a place with poor service coverage. Since I'm at home and on that area, I can't the phone to work as he did again... no matter how many times I remove the battery.  I even left it out all night last night.

Whenever I try to do something, it is delayed by the hourglass spinning. Whenever I touch the trackball, it starts to turn. It takes forever to open and work with an application.  If my computer has done this, I would it reboot.

What can I do to get the phone all better again, in addition to removing the battery?  I already cleaned the cache and used the cleaner memory too.

I don't know what else to try...

Help!

I don't have a SIM card... and I was preparing to head to the Bank for a new phone...

Then I tried something and started to delete apps and that made it better.

So at the moment I agree about it being a memory problem...

The big test will be the next time I go to the city of Dead Zone... he had none of the clusters of small Verizon people behind me that day.

Thanks for the help!

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 (about two months) on network VerizonWireless. Yesterday, I started to see a spinning hourglass that wouldn't go away, and now I can't receive emails. (I'm not on a customer business). The signal shows 1XEV connection and I see the ' up/down' arrows flashing periodically, but still no email comes through. All except the standard five applications are closed and I tried the option "remove the battery when the unit is running and wait a few minutes before plugging it back" does not. (The hourglass stopped for a few minutes, but came back and I'm still not received my email).

@rmaurer: I forgot to mention the battery drain, but the mine who did as well.

The idea of 'everything back and get another' is never very satisfying for me. Especially if I have to keep doing it over and over again (like bobcawman, above), and he never really addresses the problem. If this is the case, then it seems that I bought a bad product, not only got a defective unit.

The solution for me was to back up all my data by using the Desktop Manager, then reload the operating system of the VZW website software. The process was a bit complicated, and I'm sorry, I don't remember the exact steps to share here, but there is an option on the web site for the latest version of the software (4.5 for Verizon, I think). That solved the problem for me so far. I suppose however that the real question, why what is happening with so many people. I've seen many, many messages on exactly the same thing. I wonder if it's an issue just with the previous version of the software, or something more serious with the 8330 in general operating system.

    I'll wait and see...

Hourglass was back.  Went to options... then status... I don't see any total input file... but free file is 0

  • BlackBerry Smartphones continuous hourglass

    HI -.

I've had my BB for about a month now.  Everything has been wonderful while browsing the web last night, I had suddenly an hourglass, followed by the message "a problem occurred while trying to make the page".  I closed my connections and tried again, go to the home page.  The word Blackberry appeared and the hourglass, and then followed by the message again.  So, I plugged in for the night and thought that would be nice this morning.  Well, the same thing happens.  If I go into the menu and "go to", the hourglass starts just once again and I can't do a thing in the internet browser.  My email is coming in the fine and the phone works, etc.  It seems just to have an impact on the browser.  Would you be able to help?  Is this common or is there something wrong with the unit?

I'm off to work, but will try to access this site from my computer at school to verify solutions.  You may be able to give any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Sdodge

You may be running low on memory. Although I guess it would affect all and not only your browser. Try this. Click options, click status. You write your files for free and total. Then, if you can click your browser at all. Try, then click the berry button and select options then select cache operations and click clear for each option. Then press the previous button and it will say cleaning memory. Then delete the emails of the texts that you need not also get rid of any third party DPPA you don't use. THEN remove your battery with the phone YOU. Leave for 30 seconds and put back. Let the phone restarts. 1-3 minutes is normal. Return to the options and status, then note the new numbers of free and total of the file file. Please send us these numbers and we'll go from there. Good luck.

  • BlackBerry smartphones battery + hourglass

Hello everyone. Your answers are greatly appreciated. Recently, I noticed that my battery finally seems less and less and my hourglass and the speed at which works my phone seems to be slower. I suspect (but not sure) that this is because of the increase in the amount of the apps I have installed on my phone. I wonder if anyone out there can confirm my suspicions and can give me some tips to make my battery last longer. The phone is not more than six months.

The following applications are installed: Google maps, Vlingo, Reuter News, Thomsons, Worldmate, EWhere and Poynt.

    Thank you

    Fred

freddy2g: you are right.  That's exactly what I thought, but over time the distance between what I think and what my fingers type goes.  The synapses in my brain still apart and not all the electrical impulses make everywhere.

As for the battery remove Tanzim suggested. Yes.  Remove the battery with the unit on.  Wait about a minute and replace the battery.  Leave the BB completely restart and see if it does not help.   Clears the memory and updates the BB; like restarting your pc.

There is also a free app called Quickpull that will do this so you don't have to actually pull the battery.  Check it out here: Quickpull

I have mine set to reboot every morning at 4:30, so my BB is refreshed and ready to go.  Sometimes, however, a real battery pull seems to do a still better job.  When you have anamalous behaviour in your BB battery pull often help to clarify.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Spinning clock problem

Here, I had a problem relates to a spinning clock that always appears when I lock the keyboard.

When I bought the first of all, it was not.

I thought that may be due to some applications that I installed, but I have not installed these heavy applications. My 9700 memory is always around 88 mb. and I uninstalled for some of them.

I just did a battery pull, but still it does not get rid of the spinning clock

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Curve (8330 Verizon) has spinning hourglass

I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 from Verizon, a month ago. It is configured with a Blackberry Enterprise Server to my work. A few weeks ago, I woke up one morning to a spinning hourglass. Applications seem to work and I could make calls. However, everything was really slow. I tried connect to Verizon for a software update. That did not help. Then, I tried a few resets hard (removal of the battery). That did not work also. The boot has taken longer than usual and I found myself with spinning hourglass each time. I called Verizon and they said that I had to wipe the device and try again.

I wiped it and then set up all my accounts e-mail again. Then I got the email people send me a different password to set up the connection with MS Exchange. Everything seemed fine for a few weeks. Then, this morning, I found the same thing. I tried a few resets hard. One thing I also noticed this time is that if I try voice component, the application says "during initialization... "and then to block the phone. And all that is using the CPU is also drain the battery. My battery is at 45 percent four hours after I took it off the charger.

When I spoke to Verizon this time they told me they would send me a new phone. I will try this, but to be honest, that I'm not sure that's the problem. I suspect the buggy software. It's really frustrating. Surely, there must be a way to solve exactly which process is this?

Oh, I almost forgot to mention third-party applications, that I installed. I don't like cluttering up the Blackberry with many extras as I am not very confident when it comes to the quality of the software. Here's what I've got there:

    * - TellMe

    * - Client AIM (downloaded on RIM)

    * - Update Facebook client

    * - Opera browser

There are a lot of memory (more than 55%) when I check the status display.

I have a memory card of 4 GB installed with some MP3 and photos. The card has 3 GB free.

    Any suggestions?

I had this problem 3 times.  The 3rd time the tech at verizon from disabling applications.  When we turned the hourglass on facebook went.  Touch wood, but my phone has not started to act up again again.  It's been 3 days now and everything is good so far.  If he does so since tomorrow, it will be the longest, it worked with the hourglass turning upward.  The tech said that he had seen a few times so far and on each of them noticed we all used facebook, so he tried and so far it works.

  • Help blackBerry Smartphones... I see a lot of spinning hourglass!

I am a very new user. I brought my 8830 to my home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the United States of AMERICA. Recently I was downloading PDFs to the appliance, when the appliance has hung up and it took a long time before the hourglass stopped turning. I tried everything to try to free the device without effect. Since then I see more and more the spinning hourglass indicating that something is slowing down the device.

There are some sets of keys that can be pressed to clear the memory or anything that slows down the unit?

    Thank you 1 million.

  • Phone of blackBerry Smartphones is victims of attempted OS update

I'll have an experience absolutely nightmare with the help of DM so far.

It installed fine, this isn't the problem.

The main thing that I've been interested in practice has been updated OS level because I have not been able to do and I had read that a reason for which I have some problems that I had with some of the 3rd party software I use.

I just posted in another thread that he was supposed to be upgraded the operating system, he kept hung up and I was stuck on the spinning hourglass.  About 3 seconds splash of T-Mobile came on my phone and he started to tell me something, but then DM kick back in and now it is stuck back on this infinite loop "loading OS - do not disconnect until the upgrade is completed.    My phone looks like it is off... I have no idea whether it does.  From what I can tell, it's just getting up to a certain point and freezing, but then I can't use my phone.  My phone is useless now, gives me an error "507" not recognized by the computer, nothing.  I don't know what to do about this, I'm not find resources or information on how to remedy this.  It is a disaster, I thought that it would take 20 to 60 minutes, and instead, it has been 2 hours of misery.  Any help is appreciated.

Error 507 means simply that no OS on the device is recognized.

Can you get to a PC and try this?

First find your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

If this does not work, you will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and then load the operating system on the device. Follow the instructions here:

  • Clock blackBerry Smartphones busy (e) in the middle of the screen, common solutions helps do not

I have a Blackberry Tour 9630 with the OS 5.0.0.591 and I still see a timer/clock occupied the middle of my screen. This is usually for a 10-15 sec and seems as if the BB is 'think '. I tried common solutions as the closing of applications with the command close to do a battery pull, etc. and continued to have this problem. Any suggestions?

If it helps, here is the third-party applications, I have installed. I put an asterisk beside those who need to stay open (or at least I think they must stay open?):

    -1.8.4 fourSquare

    -Google maps 3.2.1

    -* Memory Booster 3.3

    -* MissingSync 2.0.4.301

    -OpenTable 1.0.2

    -* RingScheduler 1.0.30

    -* Skydeck 3.20

    -The weather channel 1.5

You store pictures on the BlackBerry smartphone or ON the Media Card?

Look at the Options > file free of charge. What is the number said out there?

Similarly, you don't think, you have a lot of applications running, but if you open the application switcher function, what is there?

Is the browser on a page?

Try opening the browser > options > Cache operations > clear the Cache.

Now, do a reboot: with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.

Once the backup device, give him five minutes to calm down all activity data.

Now, let's see if you keep saw the hourglass lag?
