BlackBerry Smartphones Starhub vs Mobilicity

I'm still a beginner so I apologize in advance. I noticed last night that Mobilicity has now released os 6 as well. http://www.IntoMobile.com/2011/01/12/BlackBerry-Curve-3G-9300-OS-6-official/

My question is this, does a release of the work 'better' than the other depending on where you are? For example, I'm on T-Mobile in the United States. This North American version will be a better choice than the liberation of Starhub?

Here is what I currently have if this can help:

BlackBerry 9300 smartphone (3G, Wi - Fi)

V5.0.0.846 (Bundle 1440, platform 6.3.0.39)

I know that this subject has been beaten to death, but I was just curious. Thanks in advance

Hello

Thank you for opening a thread of your choice on your questions...

As stated in response to your other post:

If the version number is the same, the only difference is the "wrappers" that the carrier attaches (special applications only that carrier, these icons of teaser for some additional services, etc.). The OS core is the same if the version number is the same.

"Best" is often a matter of judgment - if we logically, the latest package would be the "best" because it would have patches that the prerequisites packages had no. But, there is always the chance for a new edition to be introduced. Witness the 9550 releases... until I think that it etait.713 (or something close), there was a problem of "robotic voice" which was eventually cured (among others) to. 1015... but introduced en.1015 was the loss of automatic mode "bedside" for display during the load. With these, it has become a matter of choice regarding "what's worse for me"... a stop for each person to do.

Anyway, not knowing not OS specific packets you compare, it is impossible to provide something more... just to remind that if the version number of the package is the same thing at the same time, then the only difference is the "wrappers" as the core of the operating system is identical.

Good luck!

    Hello

In general, BBs "prefer" WiFi network of business for services BIS data. You can always check inside the connection management > State of Services, which BIS route is average.

But you should also check inside the apps... many 3rd party applications have configuration items, inside the application, allowing you to order the application to use a data compared to another channel. What I always do is run my apps use BIS... in this way, they will follow along as BIS shifts between WiFi and my network of business data. But, if (for example) you configure an application to use only your corporate data network, while the app can avoid past well after BIS BIS to WiFi, and this app may well continue to consume data out of your network connection data carrier, even if BIS moved to WiFi.

With older OS levels, you had no choice, but to leave the "Data Services" set on "on" any channel to use, which often caused the situation described above (BIS on WiFi, but some consumption of carrier data app)... disabling the Services of data, these levels of older OS, BIS-level data for all channels off including WiFi. With the later levels of the operating system (somewhere in the OS7 range, I remember well), you can actually turn off the parameter Data Services and wireless leash... that allows BIS to still work on WiFi, but prevents any application using the data carrier network regardless of how the application is configured.

But... I'm curious... you may have about the features that only work on SmartPhones BB, yet your profile on this site says you have only a PlayBook, in which case none of this applies since the PB has no radio has WiFi and mobile only. But, you posted this in the "BOLD" of this site section, so you could guess assumes that you have a "BOLD" in addition to your PB...

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry IQ on Blackberry Smartphones carrier T-Mobile phones

T-Mobile moved carrier IQ on the phone regardless because it may violate the policy of Blackberry.  During my Exchange with T-Mobile, he got the following response when I asked about it.

    Hello Jens,

I want to assure you that I answer your questions as completely as possible.

    You asked:

    1. If I have not given permission to carrier IQ to communicate, it is blocked then?  How can I prove that?

Answer: Carrier IQ requires no authorization to collect the information mentioned previously.

    2. If it is attached to a BES, can CarrierIQ be deleted?

Answer: For information of permission/changing BES, I refer to your it group that BES permissions are controlled through the server.

3 Blacberry said that CarrierIQ is not part of the operating system and as such can be easily removed by T-Mobile. How to start this process?

Answer: Unfortunately, this information is inaccurate. If the application has been DOWNLOADED, we would be able to help an uninstall of the application, but with a built-in node of the operating system itself, we cannot change or delete.

    4. If the operating system has been modified by T-Mobile, how to do a clean install?  I need to unlock the phone to do?

Answer: T-Mobile has not modified the software. This device is approved by the T-Mobile and Blackberry OS running. If you are considering a non-T-Mobile version of the software, T-Mobile does not support a change to a non-T-Mobile software version and would be unable to help in the process.

I hope this helps to clarify how carrier IQ is built into the software, I understand your desire to delete so that e-mail messages can be linked to your phone, but there is no way that t-mobile can remove it.

    Thank you

    Jennifer

This seems to imply that BlackBerry joined the carrier IQ to the BONE in the Bold 9900 and they claim that it is not able to be removed.

The only way to solve this problem is to start to complain on their forum and their relationship with the customer.

Anyoneknow of a way to get a clean installs of OS 7 for the lackBerry 9900 (one who is pure by T-Mobile?)

    Thank you

CarrierIQ is NOT a part of the operating system. Carrier IQ is hidden under the 'My account' app and enabled only when the application is run, and permissions are allowed. Once you INSTALL the app from my account, and YOU AGREE in the affirmative for the conditions for the application to install, you have given permission for CarrierIQto collects the information.

    So, don't do it.

  • Questions of blackBerry Smartphones pushing the mobile CRM application to the BB 8830 devices

I have problems getting an application to install on the BlackBerry devices used throughout our society.

I am using BB 8830 (OS 4.5) devices on the network of Verizon Wireless and collaborated with BlackBerry Manager v4.1 on our BES. I'm trying to push a mobile CRM software application for these devices using a Software Configuration implemented in the BlackBerry Manager. I have successfully pushed an old version of this app for these devices in the past using other Config software. I did the following before trying to get the app:

    1. installation of the portable software on the BES.

    2. has created a folder under %CommonProgramFiles%\Research-en Motion\Shared\Applications to hold .cod files .alx files and APP then their copied in the folder.

3 created the software index by running loader.exe /index from the command prompt.

    4. about control and strategies COMPUTER was preconfigured for older software config, we used successfully, then we have the same ones used when creating the configuration of the software for this mobile CRM software

5 assigned a COMPUTER policy to users that allows the software to install on their devices

    6. check that all BlackBerry Services associated with this process are running

When I would assign the software to the user and then select deploy Application, it would immediately act as though the software has been installed on the device showing the Application as being up to date and the Config like OK. The it policy gets well positioned on the device, but no application appears.

Can someone help me understand what Miss me, and why the app is never pushed?

Figured it out. There is a setting on the server that has always acted as if the previous version of the application has been installed, even if it has been removed from the device. Weird, but once I deleted that setting, it allowed me to get the new application.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Torch 9810 Mobile access point

    Hello

When I bought my 9810 of at & t told me that a new version of the OS 7 will have the built-in AP mobile (finally).

Does anyone know if it is infact coming?

Also, I noticed that a new version is available for almost all businesses except at & t - what is with at & t and the new version? Is he coming?

    Thank you

These two questions are thinkers.  While there's been rumors that RIM would incorporate this feature in an update of the operating system 7, in the true shape of the RIM, they confirm anything until the update is a reality.  It is the same for the AT & T update.

  • BlackBerry smartphones using T - Mobile Blackberry 9000 or 9700 in Europe

    Hello

I have a Blackberry 9000 and 9700. Anyone know if I can use one of these phones (mainly for the BBM and emails, no voice service) in Europe (London and Venice, Italy)? I think that both phones are "unlocked." Just to be sure, is there a way to check if the phones are unlocked? Just buy a sim card when I get to Europe, if I can use my blackberry it? Thank you!

If they are unlocked, you can use them with a card SIM buy you there. Please note that you will need to get 'The Plan data BlackBerry.' You must have the data, and a generic data plan isn't enough.

To check if your phone is unlocked, go to Options, Advanced Options, SIM card. While on this screen, type MEPD (case sensitive) (you won't see anything while typing).

On the screen that appears, you should see an entry for SIM card. If she says, people with disabilities, your phone is unlocked. If she activated, your phone is still blocked by your operator.

Make sure that when you create the contact on your BlackBerry® smartphone, that their mobile phone number includes the area code.  Most providers require that the code is used when sending SMS messages.

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) books of forwarding Service

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot-~ 5 minutes
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, you may have to wipe your device and then do the above... sometimes, running on another network corrupts so evil that the foregoing cannot fix your Service books. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Bold 9900 T-Mobile Smartphones not receiving email or BBM on mobile data

    Hello world

I have a Bold 9900, I've had just for a few weeks. Last night, out of nowhere, I noticed that a new BBM message was not sent. After trying to figure out what it was, I also noticed that nothing related to data Mobile was working at all. No email, instant messaging, the functions of the browser. I turned my data on and outside, connected and disconnected from Wi - Fi and used the host to register with the network Routing Table. None of this has worked.

I then used the diagnostic test to find out what the network functions did not exist, and that's what I got:

    Activation of radio data: Yes

    Signal level:-77 dBm

    Radio access: UMTS

    Network: T-Mobile

    IP address: (hidden)

    Ping ICMP echo: Yes

    Record Blackberry: Yes

    Connected to BlackBerry: No.

    Connected to (hidden): give up.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how can I change my signature & other texts on my outgoing emails sent from my mobile?

When I bought my Blackberry Torch 9800 (2 years), I managed (somehow) add text by giving my name, my 2 companies Web sites & so that it appears at the bottom of every outgoing e-mail.  At the same time, I've removed the text that says something like "message sent from my Blackberry".

Now I need to change the message (& also want to restore it's my Blackberry because it is what explains a brief answer when necessary.)

I don't think that I did all the settings on the mobile.  I think that this has been done "somehow" on my main computer.
