Block some exe process to access another file specified?
I'm in a situation where I need to be able to inhibit some files to have access to some other files without some hacky sandbox or anti antivirus solution. Is there an easy way to block, say, example.exe to blockme.txt?
Sorry, there is no way to do it. Access Windows restrictions are based on users, not process-oriented.

Original title: Windows cannot install the drivers
I had a lot of trouble installing the drivers on my Windows computer. I went straight in the Device Manager and deleted the devices I tried to install and reinstalled them, I went into safe mode, I got Windows to run the console and only the basic process and run from there Device Manager... no matter what I do the same mistake.
"The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process".
Even after a restore of the system, he did this, and I don't know what to do anymore. Only devices that have been previously installed work.
What's more important install my Blackberry software because my phone is broken. The software cannot detect my phone because the drivers have not been installed. Most of the devices I can use with Linux (I have Windows Vista and Ubuntu running on the same computer), but RIM don't make Blackberry for Linux software, so I have to do it on Windows.
Hi paco2012,1. did you of recent changes on the computer?
2. how many user accounts you have on the computer?Try these steps and check the result.
Step 1: Install the driver as an administrator
a. shut down the computer runs.
b. start the computer and the connection as an administrator.
c. find the driver configuration file, right-click on the file and click "Run as Administrator".
d. follow the instructions in the wizard to install the driver.
e. restart the computer once the driver is installed.Step 2: Try to install the driver to boot either by disabling all non-Microsoft programs
a. open the article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
b. Article, follow "step 1: perform a clean boot."
c. restart the computer.
d. install the driver and verify the result.
e. follow "step 7: reset the computer to start as usual.Kind regards

Foreground of Oracle process to access data under Linux files
As far as I know, processes user in an Oracle database running the application code, but the processes of database running Oracle database server code (server process analyze and execute the SQL statements issued through the app, read data of data files blocks and return the results to the application.) Background treats the archive logs, update the headers of all the data files to save the details of the control point, written content of the buffers of data files, runs the recovery if necessary, etc.)
However, I could see the oracle user processes to access data files in my Oracle database. When I look for the processes to access data belonging to the tablespace files "recprov", I get the following:

My question is, why are there user processes to access data files? I think that it does not match the process architecture defined by Oracle. And most importantly, it does not mean a security leak in the database?
DB version: 10.2.0.3, dedicated
The Linux Version: Linux 2.6.18 - 53.el5xen #1 SMP Sat Nov 10 19:46:06 EDT 2007 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Thanks in advanceHello
There seems to be some confusion, even in the Oracle documentation, in terms of nomenclature.
Think of it this way. There is the client program that connects to Oracle, such as SQL * Plus, Toad, custom, etc. written application. This program runs on the client. This may or may not be on the database server.
Then there's the Oracle database server process. They run always on the database server. These processes are of two types, the USER and the background.
You can see:
SQL> select background,count(*) from v$process group by background; B COUNT(*) - ---------- 65 1 37
Here are copies of the file binary oracle attach directly to the SGA and interact with database files. The binary oracle works with several different "personalities" based on the different purposes, he is currently serving. The type of background process, are divided into different specific methods for specific purposes.
Yet once, observe:SQL> select pname from v$process where background = 1; PNAME ----- PMON VKTM GEN0 DIAG DBRM PING PSP0 ACMS DIA0 LMON LMD0 PNAME ----- LMS0 LMS1 RMS0 LMHB MMAN DBW0 DBW1 LGWR CKPT SMON RECO PNAME ----- RBAL ASMB MMON MMNL MARK LCK0 RSMN GTX0 SMCO W000 RCBG PNAME ----- QMNC Q001 CJQ0 Q005 37 rows selected.
Thus, each background process serves a different purpose. For example. DBW0 concerns only to write data from the buffer cache data files and maintaining all data structures associated with it. Each background process above serves a different purpose, I will not go into all. Generally, the background processes start up time of instance startup, even though some may be started on demand, at a certain time after the start of the proceeding.
Now, consider a dedicated server model. When you connect to the database by using SQL * Plus, for example, you run the binary "sqlplus". Assume that you are connected via SQL * Net. In this case, sqlplus connects to the listener, the listener creates an oracle server process, type 'USER '. This process always runs on the database server. It runs under the user 'oracle', and it provides your real and direct interface to the database. This user can interact with the database and read the database files directly.
Mainly, your server processes the USER will read the data from the cache buffers and, in the case of an absence of cache, will read the data in the data files and loading into the buffer cache. In addition, according to the code path, it can directly read or write to the datafiles, bypassing the buffer cache.
So, the bottom line, all server (USER and BOTTOM) processes, interact with the database and associated files. The code of client program (sqlplus, Toad, etc.) NEVER directly interacts with the database.
Hope that things cleared up.

Original title: I can't find the fix_svchost.bat file update.
I'm in you process of having my computer running faster. The svchost.exe process takes 100% of cpu memory and computer dthe freezes. A friend of mine told me a method to solve the problem, but I can't find the fix_svchost.bat update. I went to microsoft update center and don't find any results at all, and I don't know another place to look for. I think that the update does not even exist.
I could send you a fix_svchost.bat file, but I don't think it's the starting point.
What you need to do is run a few respectable scans for malware first, and then see if any of you are your svchost.exe process is still badly behave.
Behind each of the svchost.exe process that see you in the Manager of tasks can be one or more process of XP you have to be running, but malware is KNOWN to imitate or hide behind a svchost.exe process, so you won't be able to see in Manager tasks. You have to outsmart it.
First yo should make a reasonable effort to eliminate malware, and then start troubleshooting - not the other way around.
Provide information on your system, the better you can:
What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
No matter what you use for malware protection, follow these steps:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs at:Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/These comprehensive analyses can take some time, but you really need to run. SAS will probably be just a bunch of Internet tracking cookies, but you can remove them. Once you have done at least a full analysis, you can do quick scans in the future to save time and save the analyses complete for when you have more time or are really suspicious of an infection of the system.
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
In 1985, there were 11 known computer viruses. Today, there are over 70,000 and new threats are detected every day. Always update your virus definitions before running a scan.

cannot access the files of another user with the admin account
I'm on a computer with Windows Vista 64-bit home problems.
I normally have the computer configured to connect automatically to a non privileged user and rarely use the admin account.
Recently, I downloaded an update (Finally, more like a relocation to the latest version) and realized that I need the admin account to install properly for all users that UAC would make things a royal PITA with a zillion prompts.I quickly disconnected and logged in as admin. Then, I realized that the installation file has been stored in the "downloads" folder in my regular account.
Worse still, I could not access this folder, or I couldn't tab of future security. All I could do was to 'change the property' to my admin account, but I really didn't block me on these issues. Even from Explorer using "run as administrator" gave me problems, although the DIR command in cmd.com would be the list of people.I used the "change user" function to log my account regular and checked the Security tab and saw that the "Administrators" Group had already read and checked 'total control '. Why can't access the admin account? As an admin with XP, I had free access to everything I wanted to leave that I wanted.
What happens if I was a parent and wanted to check to make sure that my child was not software piracy or download illegal music that would get stuck with the fines because I'm his guardian? How would I go about checking his records?
What happens if I was an employer at a small office using working groups and wanted to ensure that the employee was not downloading pornography?
How can I use the powers of the administrator to access other files (regular) user?
Why do I still need to ask this question? It was automatic under NT, 2000, XP and the various servers at least as high as 2003.I found the problem, it was ANOTHER problem with Norton Security Suite for Comcast.
I uninstalled and did not only to release 100 GIGABYTES of space, my boot time has been cut to a quarter of the former time, and this problem has disappeared. -
I closed my shot explorer.exe process in my task manager and now I can't load my computer, control panel and these files, can someone help me? When I try to open their message comes that: {26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683} not this interface supported...

I would like to ask you a few questions in order to get a better understanding of this issue so that we can better help you.
(a) what version of Windows 7 use you?
(b) what is the exact error message you are getting?
Method 1: You can also try to perform a file system (scan SFC) verification tool. This tool will fix the system files are corrupted.
Scan SFC enforcement procedure:
1. click on the Start button
2. on the Start Menu, click all programs followed by accessories
3. in the menu accessories, right-click on command line option
4. in the drop-down menu that appears, click the "Run as Administrator" option
5. If you have the User Account Control (UAC) enabled, you will be asked permission before the opening of the command line. You simply press the button continue if you are the administrator or insert password etc.
6. in the command prompt window, type: sfc/scannow then press enter
7. a message is displayed to indicate that "the analysis of the system will start.
8. be patient because the analysis may take some time
9. If all the files need replace SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Vista DVD for this process to continue
10. If all goes although you should, after the analysis, see the following message "Windows resource protection not found any breach of integrity.
11. once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.
Method 2: If this is a recent problem that has developed you can try to perform a system restore and check if it works very well.
To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next
3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next
4. click on finish
Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
For more information, please follow the below given link:

Method 3: you can try to start safe mode and restore the system, if you are unable to do it in normal mode.
For a safe boot, you can follow the below given steps:
1. remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.
Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.
2. do one of the following:
a. If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.
b. If your computer has multiple operating systems, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.
When you are in safe mode, follow the steps mentioned above to complete the restore of the system.
Hope the helps of information.
Please post back and we do know.Concerning

Some .exe files do not immediately start after a double click.
Some .exe files do not immediately start after a double click. However, the CPU usage is in place and I can see the name of the image file in the Task Manager process. But when you double-clicked once again, it opens and the CPU usage is even higher. It's like running two same .exe files. I already ran Microsoft Security Essentials to remove all viruses if that's the case, but it did not help. Is there something wrong with the files?
This happens because your antivirus starts to scan the file when you try to run it. You can check by
1 disable antivirus real-time protection (note to Moderator: not recommended!) and try to run the file againor2. open Task Manager > go to processes (or details if it is WIndows 8) > run file > monitor processes belongs to antivirus to see if they consume the CPU powerIf this is the case, it is made by antivirus normal safety measure to keep you protected. -
Since update of last nights, I get now launching explorer.exe "windows cannot access the specified device, file, or the path?
Hi Jemd3,
I suggest you to completely remove Norton of the system using Norton Removal Tool and check if the problem persists.
Method 1:
Maybe it's that your computer is affected by virus and malware. I suggest you run an online anti-virus scan and a scan for Malware. See the links below.
