  My Toshiba Satellite L305-S5907 started suddenly to do all kinds of crazy stuff, the screen was all distorted and it flickered and then it would break.  Then I had received a message indicating that the screen was confronted with a display driver igfx problem and had been recovered.  This has happened about 5 times and I was trying to see if I could get some info on the help and support page, and then the screen went black.  Now my laptop won't open at all.  I pressed the button 0 and holding it down and then through this recovery process and it will get so far and then a blue screen error appears and says that he is arrested for not to damage my laptop.  It is as far as I can get and it won't let me on my computer to get to the control panel or to download updates.  How can I return to my laptop to download the updates?

  Since then, you receive a bluescree and unable to boot in normal mode, you can try to boot from the Windows Vista full version installation disc and perform a startup repair.

  I have Windows Vista Home Premium, and I've had it for 5 years now (2006-) the problem is that I don't know what happened, but when it restarts, I have two options;

  System restore; I tried ALL the dates of the restoration, and none of them worked. I got an error saying: it cannot restore.
  Restore the computer; 1. I don't have a backup drive (it's a shame, I know) and 2. I don't want back up and lose all my files.
  Windows Memory Diagnostic tools; I checked all hardware error, and none have been found.
  Command prompt; I don't know what to do with it.

  If someone can PLEASE help me, I would be VERY grateful. I have very old memories and photos on this computer and I don't want to lose these. I am begging for someone to help me, and my last priority would be to forget all these photos and files and move: (.) Oh and I tried running safe mode, by pressing F8 while the computer restarts and I've highlighted Mode safe mode with networking, but it gives a quick overview of a blue screen just and hangs on reboot.   Since you've already tried to update the Nvidia drivers, you can try to uninstall and reinstall the same check.

  You can try to uninstall and reinstall all the programs and features Nvidia drivers and Device Manager.

  Step 1:

  Uninstall the audio drivers from programs and features

  a. click on start

  b. type appwiz.cpl in the start search

  c. search for all driver packages, Nvidia, right click and uninstall.

  Step 2:

  Uninstall the drivers from Device Manager.

  a. click on start

  b. type devmgmt.msc in search, and then press enter

  c. in find Manager device for the device, right-click on it and select the option uninstall.

  After you remove the drivers of these two places, you can try to remove the NVIDIA folder and restart to see if that solves the problem after I installed the generic drivers.

  one. Click on start and Type C:\windows\system32\drivers folder in start search

  b. click on drivers and select nvlddmkm.sys

  c. right click and rename nvlddmkm.sys in nvlddmkm.sys.old. or delete.

  The problem might actually be an addon or another program causing the problem and you
  must verify that 1.

  What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have
  EVER had on this machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which)
  may cause strange problems).

  Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

  IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

  Close IE and try again IE or IE with no Addons

  If nothing else works you can try this however I would use as a last resort.

  IE - Tools - Options - Advanced Options - Internet Security Section - clear the check box enable memory
  Protection to mitigate the attacks online - APPLY - OK close and restart IE
