  So yes actually hear nothing helped me.  Seems that, given that the computer is not stopped correctly and my hard drive was not recognized there starting the cycle upward or give me the BSOD.  Put it in my Ubuntu CD spare which I've had since my last PC hard drive became corrupt and force back across my hard drive.  After doing this, I was able to do a boot repair, who led for the BSOD.  Not sure how that actually fixed, lost about 10 hours of my day.  So I guess I can chalk up to Microsoft and a reminder on why I should buy Mac for now on... an update shouldn't really cause such problems.

  I get that not everyone has the same PC, so it is difficult to tell if an update is bad, but he should not do this and if an update is the cause of a certain segment of consumers who are updating must be taken down for everyone, or at least the users with the configuration that is known to have problems with an update.

  Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

  When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

  Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

  Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

  Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

  JoseIbarra is the expert resident on the Recovery Console and chkdsk/r. I'll track down his instructions. If the malware is responsible for the BSOD, I do not think that chkdsk /r will help, but it won't hurt. Or you might need to repair your boot.ini file.

  (a) click Start, point to all programs, and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

  (b) click on custom.

  (c) click to uncheck the box next to the update you want to hide.

  (d) develop the update you want to hide, and then click to clear the don't show this update again check.

  (e) click on review and install the updates.
