BM.exe on a HP Pavilion Elite d5200t ATX?

A few months ago, I have a HP Pavilion Elite d5200t ATX with pre-installed Vista 64-bit.

More recently, I noticed the BM.exe program included in its start menu would rarely go more than a minute after a reboot without close with an error message (non-registered details)

Even more recently, I found a reason to run the Norton Internet Security program that came pre-installed on this machine in the next higher than default scan mode.  He then paid account the BM.exe file looked like it might be malicious and had no certificate indicating what company it origin and therefore should not be allowed in the start menu.

This file is even supposed to be included in the Vista 64 pre-installed for this machine?  If so, is there a newer version which runs correctly, comes with an appropriate certificate and entered in database of Norton of the software which is not a virus or other malicious software?

Also, what directory does in?  It seems to have disappeared from my computer when I leave the disable Norton program in the start menu. recent research of the entire disk C: failed find.

Delete it.    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/BM.exe-21373.html

  • To be lock HP Pavilion Elite d5200t BlueScreen out-of-box video

In collaboration with assistance, but so far not much of help.  Had to make three restore system to factory settings already.  What happens is that if you leave the session from the computer for a while, there finally goes to blue screen and tells you a driver error video (I have the video card ATI Radeon 4650).  After the restart, details of the Diagnostics confirm it with an error 'video phone' and the appropriate solution is to install the latest driver or check the performance parameters.  It's only an old computer for 1.5 months and when I got the download of the driver from the HP website and installed, I think it's the same version I already had.

He has problems with this video card?  I'm starting to think I have a faulty card or a faulty motherboard.

I am tired to jump through all the hoops and diagnostics that help support kept asking me to do (by electronic mail in both directions), I went to the website of ATI (AMD) and downloaded/installed the latest version of the driver.  So far, so good, so I hope that this solves the problem.

  • HP wireless keyboard from 2.4 GHz on the HP Pavilion Elite 083 Volume controls does not not in Windows 8

I have a HP 2.4 GHz wireless keyboard on a desktop HP Pavilion Elite 083 UK:

    Model KG-08510 rev 1.1

    Product #ABU KZ256AA number

    Part number 505143-031

.. Since the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro to Windows 7 Home Premium, I have problems with getting control of Volume +, - and disable keys on the keyboard to work reliably in Windows 8 Pro.

In summary, the symptom is that when I start the PC from a start-up to cold which is a full power down of the State of the volume on the keyboard controls do not work.

However, if I unplug and re - plug the USB wireless receiver that came the keyboard on the PC then on the keyboard volume controls begin to work again.

I tried the following things to try to solve this problem:

-Made a lot of new installation of Windows 8 i.e. reformatting the hard drive (no recovery) and fresh install Windows 8 on a blank hard drive.

-Installation of Microsoft Windows all the updates available for the machine.

-Manually install drivers wireless keyboard on the site of HP driver for my computer HP Pavilion Elite 083uk (this allows the screen display on to CapsLock and numlock which works reliably every time that I start).

-Disable 'fast start up' in Windows 8 power settings

-Using different USB ports on the back of the machine

This question is re-producable each time and the keyboard volume buttons work fine even from boot cold when I was running Windows 7.

I think that I have now found a solution / workaround to solve this case no matter who is interested.

    1. download and install the Microsoft "DevCon" tool that provides an interface to command line for Device Manager.

Download and installation instructions are here:

    http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/182.how-to-obtain-the-current-version-of-device-console-utility-DevCon-exe.aspx

    2. create a Windows scheduled task with "highest privileges" that works on logon that issues the following command:

    DevCon restart 'HID\VID_03F0 & PID_0862 & REV_0105 & MI_01 & Col02'

This restarts "HID-compliant consumer control device" that is listed in my device manager which is middle for the proper functioning of the volume control and mute buttons on the keyboard (keyboard functionality is via a separate driver which is not affected).

NB. you need to replace ""HID\VID_03F0 & PID_0862 & REV_0105 & MI_01 & Col02"with whatever hardware ID is listed in the device for that Manager.»

    3. If the above does not work, then you must create a scheduled task to run a batch file with the following:

    DevCon disable 'HID\VID_03F0 & PID_0862 & REV_0105 & MI_01 & Col02'

    DevCon enable 'HID\VID_03F0 & PID_0862 & REV_0105 & MI_01 & Col02'

  • HP Pavilion Elite e9220y PC, black screen with blinking underscore.

Hello. I have a HP Pavilion Elite e9220y with Windows 7. I have a black screen with a flashing underscore.

I stood and went to the bathroom and came back to this (on fiance mobile atm). If I go, I can do ctrl + alt + delete and get everything except the system recovery... so I made a recovery CD.

In the recovery CD, I get the options to
    Startup Repair
    System restore
    System Image recovery

    Windows Memory Diagnostic
    Command prompt.

I have everything but my mouse, screen and keyboard connected. No CD in except for the recovery CD.

Startup Repair found nothing, so I tried to restore the system... He said it restored to an earlier date, but I get the same screen and the same options... So I tried the following steps:

Boot from the new rescue CD, select repair your computer and choose the command line. When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart now.

Above always leads to have the black screen with the underscore flashing with the same options available... I'm so lost...

If possible, I'd like to back up my files I have. I have plans on my computer that I spent working long hours and lots of family photos. BUT if this is not possible (I have not access to a second round to save the files), then I'm more than willing to start again... I want to just that my computer back... I have not even had it for three years yet.

So any help to get back on the rails would be greatly appreciated... Thank you in advance.

  • HP Pavilion elite e9000 (mother of IPIEL-LA3) - updated bios for RAM w / 4 GB DDR?

    Hello

I bought a computer (custom config) Pavilion elite e9000 of costco in 2009, so I've offended have an exact model in 31 configurations HP number has for this model in the software support.  He had 6 GB (3 x 2 GB) DDR3 ram on a motherboard with Intel Core 2 Quad CPU @2.5 GHz IPIEL-A3...  Bought with Vista, now under Windows 7 64-bit

Trying to speed up the computer (vs upgrade) and from what I can tell, 4 GB of RAM chips are not compatible with the motherboard.

Try to understand if a BIOS upgrade would work, but the card BIOS upgrade mother IPIEL-LA3 throws an error 253.

Y at - it an update to software that I can do to allow me to update the RAM (like to go to 12-16 GB of my 6 today)?

    Here are the specifications and configurable options for your desktop HP Pavilion Elite e9110t. Here are the specs because that's card mother IPIEL-A3 (Eureka3). According to specifications, your system supports the following memory configurations;

Four DDR3 DIMM sockets (240 pin)

Supports DIMM DDR3 2 GB modules

    Supports dual channel memory architecture

    PC3-8500 1066 MHz

    PC3-6400 800 MHz

    Memory non - ECC, unbuffered

Supports up to 8 GB on 64 bit computers

Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit computers

4 GB DDR3 DIMMS are not supported by this system. It's usually because that material (chipset) does not support sizes larger than those listed. In rare cases the limitation may have been imposed by HP in the BIOS. The update of the BIOS address not to increase the size memory or questions. Error 253 means that the BIOS is not for your system or your system does not meet the minimum requirements of the update. If you want to install the update in safe, you must install it to Vista.

  • Update the bios HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 480t CTO Desktop PC

I just bought a hard drive 3 TB to my HP Pavilion Elite HPE - 480t CTO and he only sees a drive 746,52 GB under Windows 7 pro 64 bit. My main drive is a 1.5 to and he sees very well. where can I find an update of the BIOS using the new drive? I have been to the page "downloads of software and the driver" and it does not list one. Am I out of luck?

When I ran Paragon booted from a USB stick to copy my 1.5 TB drive it given the disk as a disk of 2.7 to so I think the bios is seening it?

EDIT: The Intel rapid storage technology software sees as 2 862 TB, but windows doesn't see 746,52 GB.

    Thank you

    Curtis

    Solved!

Update card mother sata drivers and program "Fast storage Intel technology" and it now works fine.

Went to ma-configdotcom and ran their detection app and it recommended JMB36X_WinDrv_R1.17.65_WHQL_eSATA.zip of JMicron and Intel's SetupRST.exe. I ran both, restarted the computer and viola! He works and see all the new drive.  I hope this helps someone else.

  • Pavilion Elite 9120Y running Windows7 (64-bit) has frozen. BIOS does not detect not SATA.

HP Pavilion Elite 9120Y (about 1 year and more) running Windows 7 (64 bit) froze in the middle of a task.  The fan used to rev up every once in a while for 1 year or more.

I opened the box and looked for the capacitors blown on the video card, but the video card is OK.

A few times I was able to go in Windows 7 safe mode, but the computer froze in safe mode.  After a while computer ceased to recognize the HARD drive.

Diagnosis (memcheck) startup DVD worked for a day or two before that stopped working.  Now, I have a Fedora LiveSpin USB and it starts after I disconnect the DVD, CD and HARD drive (SATA all).  Even when the HARD drive is connected, and the Fedora boots, he becomes failure SATA COMMRESET.

I have to power off / power on many times before the start screen appears (otherwise, it's only in black).

I have reset the CMOS (change jumper setting and changed back to the original setting).

In short, it looks like SATA features doesn't work anymore, or bad BIOS.

How can I request the upgrade of BIOS (for the HP 9120y website) if it does not start Windows 7?

Any other solution of workarounds, tips, troubleshooting pointers appreciated.

    Thank you.

    The phase I) prepare
Make a note of the version of the BIOS installed on your computer.

Phase II) prepare a bootable USB key.
Visit http://www.biosflash.com/e/bios-boot-usb-stick.htm to find out how to prepare a key USB bootable BACK.

Phase III) extract the ROM BIOS update the BIOS executable file.

    (1) download the HP provided executable update BIOS.
    (2) download 7zip from sourceforge.net.
    (3) install 7zip
    (4) run 7 - zip file manager, navigate to the provided HP the BIOS exe and extract in the content (by pressing the blue less icon).
    (5) locate the VL (number) (number). (number) (number) file to the USB stick and copy.
    (6) on the USB stick copy port or the VLnn.nn file and rename it HPBIOS.ROM.

    The phase IV) BIOS upgrade
    (1) switch off the PC, in need of updating
    (2) fix the USB
    (3) to start the PC, and you should see the c: BACK prompt.  No harm done so far.
    (4) issue the dir command to see the HPBIOS. ROM on the USB stick c: / > directory.
    (5) reboot the PC, but this simultaneously press the CTRL and the key HOME together when the PC starts.  Hold it for a minute.
    (6) you can release the keys after a certain time (when we know the PC fan is buzzing and do something)
    (7) you don't hear about 5 long beeps (which indicates the BIOS upgrade is complete).
    (8) restart the PC.

    Audit of phase V)
Check to verify that the BIOS version number reflects the newly installed version.

  • How to add to my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-590uk Usb 3.0

Hi does anyone know if I can improve my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-590uk for usb 3.0 and if so could you recommend a product that I could buy to do this.  Thanks in advance.

    One of them check it:

    http://www.overclockers.co.UK/showproduct.php?ProdID=CC-003-AK

This is to use a pci-e x 1 card. You have 2 these slots available. This will show you how do:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02255267.PDF

See the section on the replacement of a card.

Instead of plugging on the long black slot which is a video card plug into one of the slots black short. You have Windows 7 I think which means that you will need a driver, but that should come on a CD with the card. Will need you a power connector (molex) on the map, too.

You can use a SATA-III HDD but the 785G chipset only supports SATA-II. You won't see any difference, and the SATA-III is backward compatible. You have a 300W power supply. You can put in a better and with a minimum 500 or 600 watt PSU, you can install any videocard, pcie 16 x which will be in good physical shape. In retail offices, there is simply not as much space as in a custom build Tower and best video cards these days are huge things two locations. Don't forget, it fits with room to spare, or you will have problems of air circulation.
