• Adobe InDesign CS3 has stopped working...

  Received this message yesterday for the first time after using this program for a while now. Last night, when I clicked the icon in InDesign, the purple window came, says "initializing" as always, but this time he was immediately followed by a message saying "Adobe InDesign CS3 has stopped working". I uninstalled and reinstalled and got the same message.

• Book paging InDesign CS3 - Mac versus PC

  I have a book containing about 15 documents in InDesign CS3. I work on a Mac OS X and a PC with XP home. The PC did a great job of page - it has each of the chapters of the book pallate, both in the document. I use 'start page numbering on page x' to the first document in each of the two sections and "continue the previous document number" for each of the other documents. The problem is that when I go to the Macintosh, the numbering is not more automatic a document to a document, and each document in the pallate book now lists the pages in the document (1-28 if there are 28 pages, even if the numbers start at 73) and I need to "go to the x number" for each document to make it work. Then when I go back to the PC, it's messed up here. I'm on a schedule very tight - I would appreciate help with this. Thank you.

• Opening documents InDesign CS3 CS4

  I hope someone from Adobe can help me with this question. Here's the scenario:

  I'm working on the support team in a prepress environment where we get hundreds of files InDesign customer provided per week. Some customers provide their files in InDesign CS3 and some provide files in InDesign CS4. We have two applications.

  From our experience, we found that if we open a document, InDesign CS3 with InDesign CS4, there is potential for the elements in the document. I don't know what is happening from 3 to 4 to cause this problem. This happened to us several times and we have experienced losses of money owed on the errors of the press.

  One could say, as we have, if the document is provided in InDesign CS3, working on it in InDesign CS3. Pretty easy, right?

  Well, not really. If you have CS3 and CS4, both as installed on your mac at the same time, simply by double-clicking the CS4 default file (because it is newer).

  We said to our operators that they need identify which version of the file was created is not the easiest thing in the world either.

  If you 'get info' on the file, you don't get accurate information. He can say "CS4", even if it's "CS3", I think it's because your system is reading the application newer than you have to install is.

• [CS4] Indesign CS3 CS4 plugin Porting c ++ linking error

  I'm hoping to improve our current plugin to the latest version of Indesign CS4.

  I downloaded and unpacked the new SDK of Indesign CS4 and reading the guide of Portage.  I've not seen anything obvious on this issue.

  It is using Visual Studio 2005 SP1 with InDesignCS4ProductsSDK_Build578.

  It seems that through the headers that I don't end up with compilation problems.  However, by linking my project current is unable to find just a couple of external symbols.

• Import and run several text documents in InDesign CS3

  I have several files to plain text, where each runs several pages long I want to import into a single document in ID CS3. I want to import them and to make them sink in a framework unique block of text one after the other on several pages. With a single text of several doc page all what I have to do is select the place and hold down the SHIFT key and InDesign adds the necessary pages and run the copy until the end of the doc. However, if I move select the docs and import to try in a text frame by holding down the SHIFT key, it will just flow the first doc in the group without any indication of overset text. I tried to place several docs of text, hold down the shift and command and brings all my docs on the first page, but in the text boxes separated with text in excess for each doc. Is it possible to do this in InDesign or maybe a plugin that can do this?

  Copy and paste everything between the lines of hyphen (excluding dash lines) in a text editor and save it with the extension .js and put it in your scripts folder. Should be something like:

  D:\Program Files\Adobe\InDesign CS3\Adobe InDesign CS3\Scripts\Scripts Panel

  After the alphabetical order of your files and put them in their own folder, copy the path and run the script. It will make a new folder and place all of your files in a continuous narrative. I don't know how it will work with .txt files.

  I have download indesign SDK CS6.

  and build the sample project: \Adobe InDesign CS6 Plugin SDK\build\win\prj\BasicDialog.sdk.vcxproj

  But i copy 2 files: BasicDialog.sdk.pln and BasicDialog.pdb to [C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS6\Plug-Ins]

  It I open Adobe Indesign CS6, it shows the error message:

  'Download Support Advisor' is a generic error, and we need to understand what is causing the problem. Most of the time, its a problem with the download was not successful or downloaded correctly. So, in this case, re-download the software and do not forget to compare the file size of the file downloaded with the file on the server. Download Adobe Creative Suite 5 products

  Allows you to check in this case as well and make sure that the download is complete, if the size of the file is correct, to the install.log file.

• InDesign CS3: Only the shortcut keys work

  Hi all, I need help.

  I have a client that is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit edition. It has Adobe InDesign CS3, which he had bought on the internet about 2 years ago. The program has been installed since then. Just today, he began trying to use the program.

  The program will load very well. There is a new fine paper. When trying to click on the buttons on the left (Text, pencil, Select, etc.), nothing happens! If he presses the keyboard shortcut (IE T presses for text), it works fine. The buttons are not at all for mouse clicks!

  There someone Koe what could cause this problem?

  I have disabled UAC, uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign CS3, but this 'thing' will not work as it should. I have run the program as administrator and set it to XP + SP3 compatibility mode. He still refuses to work!

  According to me, turning off Aero if you have the selected 150% will also solve the problem.

  Sorry, but I don't have inside of information on getting this problem and I'm sure that even if they understand it, it will not be corrected what anyone as old as CS3.

• Problems with fonts in InDesign CS3 in Snow Leopard

  Has anyone else had problems with the font book and InDesign CS3?

  Just had some new Mac Mini running Snow Leopard against Migration Assistant an old Mini. Initially, every thing seems to be great. But on the opening of the ads in Indd CS3 I noticed that fonts disappeared, even if they have been enabled in the font book.

  Then I reinstalled the necessary fonts and we don't use iLife and iTools products, I traded the Helvetica TrueType for the version of Adobe.

  It does not work...

  So, I have rebuilt the Mac fonts installed, once again, a CD original and installed InDesign CS3 clean (orig DVD)...

  Yet once again, did not work.

  Now, I know I can put fonts required in the folder Fonts in InDesign, or store them in ~/Library/Fonts, but since we have a library of 3000 + policies that manage our users with the font book, it will become unworkable.

  Anyone could launch a patch or fix this, another way...?

  There is a Snow Leopard update, you will need to search in preferences/software update system after the upgrade. After the reboot, this problem has been elminated for me, fortunately!

• Conversion of pantone color mode to CMYK in Indesign CS3?

  I'm working on a business card for a client, I use Adobe Indesign CS3.

  I use the outside for the print job company called 4over (4over.com) and they require that you use their print CMYK pdf engine so that they can do the job properly... Basically it bring down: I'm in Indesign CS3, I chose to print and the printer choose their "4over pdf engine CMYK to print" so the colors do not convert and the color does not change when they use their printers.

  4over tells me that my document is in pantone color mode, they can see the pantone 371C color, but not the CMYK values.

  How to change color pantone in CMYK color mode mode?

  If anyone can help me please. I would really appreciate it.

  Before export, in the swatch Panel, choose your Pantone color, right click and select options for nuance. Change the type of color to the process and the color to CMYK mode.

  If it is a business card, and you have shown to the customer a pantone swatch, know that you will not get the same results of color. There is a very useful book of Pantone available that shows samples side by side with the CMYK values.

• Adobe's CS3 patch needed

  I tried the patch from Adobe InDesign CS3 for printing, I think that it is 5.0.1 but can't seem to find a link to download. I have a problem with printing... Please don't tell me to upgrade... I can't... Please don't tell me it's old, I know that... I paid for, in good faith, CS2, and CS3 and want to use 3 because I can't activate CS2 more + my OS is 10.5.8 and cannot use the CS2 version.  I need it as soon as possible, I'm starting a small business and have 2 jobs in a service provider at your fingertips.

  I thank you... I did find this page and found the downcloads CS3 but CS3 link 5.0.1 was not expressly... If I download everything which appears in CS3 I'll be completely up-to-date with the software... my confusion is because I don't "see" 5.0.1

  I had 3 cats live today with Adobe... 2A said yes and "tried" to send me a link to download so I could load CS2... both links failed, third cat is not well and the customer service suggested trying this forum... it has been a frustrating month with my software. (I own a paid for version CS2)
