Boot Camp said "we couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one.

I am trying to install Windows using Boot Camp 8.1, after having previously deleted my partition Windows 10 after getting into a loop Auto Repair. I get the following error after hitting the button "format" on the installation of Windows: "we could not create a new partition to locate an existing one. For more information, see the Setup logs files. »

Look at the other pages, I'm noting I have seem to have more than the other disk partitions (although the disk utility says I have no partitioned disks). In the Windows Setup screen, the following things are displayed:

Disk 0 Partition 3 primary MB 128.0 MB 0.0

Drive system 1 Partition 1:EFI 200.0 MB 196,0 MB

Disc 2 GB 412,1, 0.0 MB primary Partition 1

Disc 1 3 MB 619,0 0.0 MB primary Partition

Disc 1 4:BOOTCAMP 518,6 GB GB 518,5 Primary Partition

Why it seems that I have so many partitions? Shows only utility, I have one disk (more Boot Camp one). This is let me install Windows 8.1? I used BootCamp when my computer is new, 2 years ago and had no problem at all. And I added some partitions since (to my knowledge).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What are drives 0 and 1? You have a Fusion drive?

This error occurs on my 2012 15-inch MacBook Pro. I have 2 hard drives. One dedicated to OSX and one for Windows. This is my first install bootcamp. I let bootcamp create partitions, but to the partition/disk screen hard to choose, I get a message saying: "we could not create a new partition or locate a.. The partition has been formatted to NTFS. I even tried to delete the partitions and create a partition empty for windows so it can create and format on its own and start using EFI. At this point, windows begins to install it and restart, but it fails during the part material recording and restarts. Then when it starts again I get a message that the installation has failed.

Once Windows is installed, reconnect your 500 GB drive in the Optibay (if you this road main Bay) will be Windows blue screen in most cases.

  • Repair your startup disk Bootcamp disappearing after you create the new partition

. After some research, I found that it was the way forward to create a separate partition, and so I did another partition.

I didn't know it would affect my Windows partition that I thought it was completely different.

So now, when I start it up, there is no option to start with Windows. But when I boot the Mac and select Startup disk, it displays Boot Camp is still there, and all my files etc. are still there.

I tried to create one separate partition (other than Bootcamp). After that its done and I started my computer, I found that the option to boot Windows (Bootcamp startup disk) has disappeared. But I still see boot camp Mac files. Any solution for this? Thank you.

(I tried to find this solution on the discussion Forum, and I found: repair Boot Camp after having created the new partition, however, I'm not able to follow these instructions. any help would be appreciated)

Disconnect the SATA cables to all your drives except the drive hard that you plan to install Windows on and the DVD player. Also unplug all devices except for the keyboard and mouse enternal.

Then, enter the BIOS and configure the DVD drive as the first boot device.

    Now try the reinstall.
