BOOT Menu access Tecra R Series

How the hell you access the BOOT Menu on the Tecra R Series?

And why it is not documented in the instructions (Toshiba)?

Thank you

Hello

Menu start AFAIK is accessible only if you press F12 at startup.
Choose the boot device using the up and down arrows and confirm with the button ENTER.

Check it out.

  • Can't access by Satellite C50 - A - 1 6 Boot Menu

    Hello

I have a C50 Satellite - A - 1 6 originally shipped with Windows 8.1. I had turned off successfully UEFI and start safe to install Windows 7 in boot legacy mode.

However, I now upgrade to 8.1 Windows again, but I can't access the boot menu or BIOS anymore, I tried all the F keys, with or without holding the Fn, does not. The phone displays a cursor flashing for a second before you boot from the hard drive. Try to boot from USB or CD/DVD as-is does not, either.

To sum up, the laptop is currently not in UEFI mode, it starts Windows 7 in legacy mode, I intend to install Windows 8.1 in legacy startup mode, but cannot access the start menu or the laptop on USB or CD/DVD to boot.

Any help on this is much appreciated.

  • Unable to access the Boot Menu

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv7-1005eg and today I wanted to install a new operating system (Windows7).

After installation, the system unbootable. I tried to boot from a DVD or a Flash drive, but it still does not work.

What I see is the HP invent Logo and "press ESC for Boot Menu". Although I press the Escape-button nothing happens.

    I found a post here:

It seems to be the same problem, but another laptop. I don't know where this battery is in my laptop.

    Could you help me?

    EDIT:

I found the RTC battery, removed and then I pressed the power button for 1 Minute. I put the battery back in but it's always the same problem. Nothing has changed.

    Hello

Power access and use the menu starup is a good thing. This means that the BIOS is not altered.

If you can access the start menu and the BIOS, then it means that it is likely that the hard drive has failed.

Replace the hard drive with another, and then install an operating system on it.

  • Spectrum x 360: bios boot menu and boot times

Serial number (deleted content) product number T1D62EA #ABU

I'm a bit disappointed by the time which takes about 25 seconds to start. The main delay seems to be the time taken before the HP logo appears. It takes about 5 or 6 seconds until appear a message "press the esc key to access the boot menu", and then another a few seconds before the HP logo. After that, it is very fast.

Is it possible to start directly on the HP logo?

Before buying this laptop I buy one from Microsoft Store (decided to change because of the largest SSD hard drive) and this book started in 1.1 seconds. I believe it was a Signature Edition of the spectrum x 360 and there was apparently no bloatware, although I don't know if this affects startup time.

    Thank you for the update,

As you mentioned on the various changes that you have made,
I was wondering if the problem is now solved, and if there is anything else I can help you.

    Hello

If I understand correctly, you have already installed windows, but you cannot access desktop. You can proceed as follows:.

1 restore factory settings again without creating any password more.
2 password with caps lock on (or off) shift
3 you can try to reset the admin password using software called Windows Key Enterprise 9.3 build815 that works with Windows Vista/XP/2000/NT workstations.

Burn the ISO file on a blank CD/DVD using any CD burning tool. Then restart the PC locked
with this CD-ROM and follow the on-screen instructions to reset the Windows administrator password.

Note, don't forget to put the cd/dvd as 1st boot device in the Bios (boot priority)

  • HP Pavilion - "press ESC for Boot Menu" on initialize to top

    Hello

    I have a Pavillion g6 laptop running Windows 7.

I ran into a problem when booting the computer displays the message "Press the ESC key for startup menu" momentarily, the screen goes black, and this message again.  No HP logo ever, just this message appears.

I am able to access the HP Boot Menu and I ran across each of the diagnostic tests, and all of them have passed (battery, memory, HARD drive, established and start-up). I also reset the BIOS to its original settings. It is said that there is no update for the BIOS and no versions prior to a restore to.

I have not installed, changed or deleted in any material.

I tried to do a hard reset (power remove battery and hold it for 15 seconds). Who did nothing.

Finally, the Windows recovery option brings back me right of the black screen where it asks to press the ESC key.

    My questions:

-What are the precise diagnostic tests indicating that the memory, HARD drive and battery are fine? If they pass these tests, it excludes these items as being the problem?

-What other things could be the cause?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Other information to help diagnose this, let me know.

    Hi Kyledow,

I read your message. You can try first of all as a result of this document on the boot configuration order. That this would take effect until Windows has started and would not change on the system restore.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00364979

The diagnostics are very reliable. Make sure you have removed all external USB devices before all the steps.

    Please let me know.

    Thank you.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8 - 1260t CTO: stuck at the screen with the words "Press ESC for Boot Menu" on the bottom

I unplugged the graphics card to clean dust. After that I connected everything again, he stuck to the blue screen with the words "Press ESC for Boot Menu" on the bottom. If I press ESC at the beginning, it will go to a black screen and it will show the basic information of the computer (information about the processor and memory). It also show this black screen, "Press ESC for Boot Menu" on the bottom and it will show "Start menu" in the lower right corner. If I press F8 at the beginning, it's going to be the same black screen, but it does not "Start menu" show in the lower right. If I press F10 at the beginning, it will go to the same black screen, and it will show "setup" in the lower right. Can someone help me solve this problem? And thank you very much!

So I suggest to look at the following and try to 'Clear the CMOS settings' as described at the bottom of the page: HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - specifications of the motherboard, IPISB-CH2 (Chicago).  Then see if there is no change at all.  If there is no improvement, then use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp, fill in the form, create a folder for your question and then use the information to contact HP.

  • Satellite Pro M70-220 - how to start the Advanced Boot Menu

Which key have to press on my Satellite Pro M70 - 220 starting Win XP, in order to enter the "Advanced Start Menu" - in other words, the menu that gives various boot options, such as safe, last good start Congiguration, start Windows Normal Mode, etc. ?

On my old laptop Satellite 5105 - S702, it was the F8 key, but by pressing the F8 key on my M70 Pro does not bring up the 'Start Advanced Menu".

The Advanced Start Menu came on its own a few days previously after an abnormal stop, so it seems that it does not exist on the M70 Pro.

Thanks for any advice anyone has to offer.

    Hello

The Advanced Boot Menu can be reached by pressing the F8 key.
It s a Windows menu basic and it s any laptop it is.
It should work on all computers.

Maybe you can not activate the Start Menu advanced because the Windows operating system is confused upward.

  • HP LJ MFP M175nw 100 - Menu access is disabled

    Sam Colman

    Hi scolman55,

I see by your post that you are unable to access the menu of the printer and need to know if you can do a hard reset.

I'll be happy to help you.

I'll send you a PM (private Message), but before you start, please see the HP Privacy Statement. This privacy statement informs you of our privacy practices and the choices you can make about the way information about you and your online activity is collected and how that information is used. This statement is available on our homepage at the bottom of each web page of HP and HP.com.

There are a growing number of messages in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a reset on different printers. Reset to will sometimes fix problems, so resetting is not the issue.

A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access. These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results. A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight. On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. They should not be made lightly.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.
    Good day!

  • system crashed, I need to select the first boot device in the boot menu...

my computer crashed and has a black screen I have reboot by pressing F8 and then to the start menu

What now?  Press and hold f8 at startup takes me the blue screen with 3 options 1) esc = boot menu 2) f10 = set up 3) f11 = system restore.  I don't have a disk to restore the system or boot disk.  What should I do

    +

Hello, thank you for using the Microsoft forums!

What happened when you "press f8 and went into the start menu. ?  You should have seen the inscription as:

'safe mode', "safe mode with networking", "last known good", etc. etc.  In these situations, it depends on what the computer or the user was doing when the computer crashed, what the line of resolution would result. Just from the top, select Safe mode and try to start.  If windows starts, there are probably a problem with drivers not loaded through a secure boot which only loads the windows drivers of base needed for windows open and run in a limited mode. While in safe mode, we will offer you the choice to use the SYSTEM RESTORE to restore your computer to an earlier point in time where everything worked well. In unknown situations, when I'm in front of a computer when you know not what caused the accident, I take a point of restoring older and not the most recent one, preferably a machine made on its own schedule, not a constraint by a device or driver installation. Note that a SafeMode restore is not generally reversible, i.e. canoe must be cancelled at the point before the restoration (in this case, the condition has crashed), yet other points before and after can be subsequently used.

Once you have done this, or even before, if you would not rather try this again, you can use Event Viewer to try to find out what happened before the crash. Check the system and application logs, for the latest entries and repost here about this if you need help with the content of the newspapers, and we will try to help you. Alternatively, if you get it running, then you can visit this site to help you with additional questions. This is the new, free and fully automated from MICROSOFT support portal, and it can help you with most of the problems windows with a few mouse clicks.

How to view the status of the battery power of the screen of boot menu showing the tiles?

Just do the gesture of "drag the right edge" which evokes the "charms" on the right side.  It also brings a great left low Panel with date/time, battery level, and State WiFi icons.  No need to clutter up the screen with him all the time. ;)
