Boot PXE T430 problems

First off I would like to list my hardware/software

MDT/WDS server:

MDT 2012

Windows 2008 R2 server

I have a fully working MDT PXE server with a WDS images. Basically, I have a Server TDS who gets the PXE request and then stops on the WDS image to start the imaging process. It works fine on the lenovo thinkcenters ok and I can boot from the CD from the MDT server. But when I boot from the network card I get no response or not DHCP.

-J' downloaded all the drivers for the Thinkpad and they injected into the MDT and WDS for the WINPE image

-J' updated the BIOS to the latest version 2.09

-I can start from the cd very well on my server and pull an ip address

Not sure why this laptop model is a failure on the network boot process... Anyone see the problem?

Adkyle, my model is:

Lenovo ThinkPad (2349-KZ4) T430

Last night I let my MDT completely rebuild my boot image rather than update the boot image. Imported image for WDS (PXE) and always start not go.
Now, if I use the CD to boot I can bypass the WDS server and rethink the role of the multidisciplinary team. Forcing the circumvention of the PXE boot. The (already flashed to the lates) BIOS settings do not give many parameters in the network boot box.
Don't know how well I like it, but at least we can boot from the cd of MDT.

Prime: change the Windwos Master loader boot:

    ruioliveira s@nokia3310:$ sudo efibootmgr - v
    BootCurrent: 0000

    Does not work.

Second: change the file in EFI/Boot/Bootx64.efi to my grub_standAlone.cfg (rename it to bootx64.efi)

    Does not work too.
I just need to put my .efi running in the starup
    Thank you all

    Hello
Can you tell us what your problem is? I have seen a lot of technical stuff, but do not clearly understand your problem.
If you are having problems to start Ubuntu in an Efi / UEFI environment I suggest you try copying the file to start the live-media / installation in your startup folder media.
Please note that the suggestion is not detailed must apply little reason.

  • Re: How to disable boot PXE 2.1 Pre on Satellite M40?

    People
I would like to disable the PXE 2.1 Pre boot that seems to be part of the BIOS on my laptop. It's just a gene such that it expires after a while.
    the laptop is
    Satellite M40-136
    BIOS V1.70
    2048 MB RAM
    Win XP Pro operating system

I don't see a setting in the BIOS to disable the PXE 2.1 Pre Boot. I don't think its anything to win the OS it loads at switch on before the start of the BONE.
    Anyone know a solution please.

    Thanks in advance.

    Dennis

    AFAIK, you can't turn off.
What you need to do is to change the boot order in the BIOS.

Set the LAN as last bootable device as first boot HARD drive device. That all s that you do.

  • Satellite L500 - boot PXE ROM message

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 only a few weeks, after a reboot I got the following error message,
"For failure of Realtek PCI-E Ethernet Controller PXE - E61 Media Test, check cable PXE - M0F outgoing PXE ROM.

I tried everything I could think off, ultimately exploitation 0 cash to restart to try to restore the factory default, however the laptop just made the turn, loading the operating system, drivers etc, restart, then back to the loading of the operating system again. I suspect the PXE - E61 error indicates the hard drive has developed a defect and will need to be replaced, but I would avoid to return under warranty if possible.

Could someone either confirm that there is nothing I can do other than return under warranty or offer me a fix?

    Thank you very much
    Brettie

    Hi Brettie,

I had a similar problem on my laptop HARD drive became faulty after a few weeks. I think that this is not uncommon and can still happen, so all data must always be backed up on a second disc. But for example I have a laptop that is already 4 years old and the HARD drive still works like the first day! ;)

    > it back under warranty if possible.
Of course, you can fix this problem under warranty. Simply contact your local authorized service provider and explain your problem. They will help you!

  • Satellite C855 HDD unallocated / PXE - E61 problem

    Hello

I am the owner of a Satellite C855, and it crashed. I opened the laptop and after awhile, he showed me the Toshiba load screen. At first I thought that the operating system has crashed, but I could not re - install it back, there is no boot file.

Now, after Toshiba load screen, I get the following error:
    .....
PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit PXE ROM
Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

The HARD drive is seen in BIOS. Connected to another computer, also it is recognizable in the BIOS, but it is not shown. There is no more partitions; now, it looks like a HARD drive unallocated. I checked the HARD drive for bad sectors and it doesn't have everything. I tried to recover the information about it but it does not work.

I don't know who are the solutions because I don't want to lose the data I have on the HARD drive.

    TNX

Hmm I m afraid the data is lost.
What you could do is to check if you can access the drive HARD and the data connection of the HARD disk to the USB port using a USB-SATA 2.5 cart.

I'm afraid that this will not help, but a check is worth a try m

If not for the workbook, you must reinstall the system once more because it looks more like the system isn't bootable.

  • The Boot Camp Assistant problems

I'm trying to install 10 Windows on my MacBook Pro 13.3 2015 "running Mac OS X El Capitan (10.11.2) but I can't not (for software that is not supported by Mac OS X). I tried several times but it still says that my disk space is not enough (don't remember the exact words in the error message). I then opened the Boot Camp Assistant in the terminal and saw that it only recognizes that the reader would have 4 GB of free space available (I have a 500 GB SSD and 130 GB is used) but some insane amount about 140000000000000 GB has been used (what?). When I check in disk utility, I get also some suspicions that Boot Camp Assistant selects the Macintosh HD partition, instead the real player. In the Boot Camp Assistant, I can choose the size of the partition (I want let 370 GB for OS X in the Macintosh HD partition and get 128 GB for Boot Camp / partition Windows 10). I can't get this to work and I am grateful for any help!

Windows Installer can generate false messages on a disk space. Do you have any connected external storage when you try to install Windows?

  • 2008R2 SP1 install not cross in first boot on T430 Lifecycle controller

I am currently performing a manual installation of Windows Server 2008R2 on a weeks T430 SP1 using the lifecycle controller. The LC is up-to-date. The T430 has a PERC H730P with 3 x 2 TB disks. The installation media was made by iso burning for 2008R2SP1 engraved on DVD. Everything seems normal until the stage where the installer of the OS has partitions available for selection as the install target.  I can format a partition, but does not specify the size. When the first partition is selected the automated several step appears for about 1/2 hour:

    Installation of Windows

That is all the information... Your computer will restart several times during this installation.

    Copy of Windows files.

    Windows files

    Installation of features

    Installation of updates

    Installation of competitor

    --------

The previous screen has no interaction. It ends by "reboot in 10 seconds, but no other instructions such as the abolition of the DVD." After Auto it, I briefly see the "press any key to boot from CD or DVD."  If I touch the OS install restarts from zero. Letting go led to "no system operating currently installed on this computer."

I must be something simple missing here...

    Hello

Once you install the operating system... then it will restart after that not need to press any key on the cd If you press again on it ask for installation pls so leave it.

    Kind regards

  • Windows 10 place 8 Pro (5830) Orientation, driver, Boot and camera problems

I've had problems with camera for a while now. When I try to open the camera application, I get a message that the camera is not connected. I tried to solve this problem through different methods, none of which work, and all of a sudden, I start getting a problem of Orientation.

A few days earlier, I tried to start, and the machine would only start in Portrait mode. Tilt, rotation, etc. would not alter orientation. I went into the settings and was able to make the meeting place in the landscape, and he should stay there until the next time I started. It always starts in a Portrait, a direction that I rarely use.

I thought that my problem was perhaps a pilot and I checked the Device Manager. All seemed well. Then, I went to the Dell Support and ran the driver verifier. They told me that I needed to update the Chipset Intel Atom Z3000 Series driver, so I started the download. The download is finished and the machine began to install it. Almost immediately, I got the error that the "Installation failed." I tried again and again, failed.

Then I looked in the Device Manager to see if I could find where this driver fits, thinking that I could remove the driver in the machine and it would be automatically installed. After carefully by the Device Manager, I found the driver.

Either incidentally... at some point earlier today, I might not even the machine to start. It froze on the screen, you get before the login screen. About 15 restart attempts finally worked and the machine will start up again.

I then tried to reset the Tablet and received an other error message that it could not be done.

I'm in a world of pain, here. Any suggestions?

OK, no responses, so here is my solution...

I've broken down and decided to follow the hard way... to the format of the drive, then reinstall Windows 10 and all software. It's a great job. The first thing is to gather all the material needed to make this work.

    Necessary material:

    1. an adapter Dell to allow the power supply and USB connection full size at once. I have a Dell for $20.

    2. a USB Hub with a minimum of 4 entry slots.

    3. USB keyboard

    4. USB mouse

    5 USB Wireless Network adapt

    6 USB Windows 10 32-bit Installer

    7. a lot of Patience.

Connect the USB Hub to the Dell adapter (1) and insert line electric adapter Dell, attach it to the tablet in the mini (or is this microphone?) USB port.

Hold the switch and the Volume until you pass at the same time until the Tablet starts in the BIOS. Change the boot order using the Volume button upwards so that the tablet will boot from USB Windows 10 Setup and follow the instructions.

Once win 10 installed, make sure that you have a wireless connection, and go to the Dell Support to download and install the Driver.Your Chipset coming 8 Pro should now allow touch screen and Orientation. Download and install no matter what other drivers you need and all your software. Set up and you're back in business.

Wow, that took me 6 hours, but all works, now including my camera

Whenever I start my laptop I get Windows boot manager options in which it highlights the option of windows 7 and I have to press Enter and continue with this option selected.

I tried to change my boot options in msconfig, but once again the configuration back to selective Starup of Normal startup. My left and right keyboard arrows keys do not work.

    Hello

It is very possible that this is for the reason that you have corrupted files on your system. System File Checker will scan your system for the missing, corrupt or damaged files. In addition, it will try to correct them. If you have changed the important system files, System File Checker will be - make sure you make backups of them!

  • Unable to Boot PXE under VMWare Workstation

Note: This is a LABORATORY environment!

    I have 2 servers

    SRV1 - DHCP, ADDS

    SRV2 - WDS

Both are installed in VMWare Workstation 12 and is assigned to a Segment named "Server LAN" local network.

    I have 2 Workstation

WKS1 - no BONES and Belonged to a local Network Segment named "LAN Workstation"

WKS2 - with OS (Win8) and Belonged to a local Network Segment named "LAN Workstation"

1 Virtual router connected both the Segment of LAN 'Server LAN' and 'LAN workstation.

Virtual router is configufed for transfer/DHCP relay.

I can say that the DHCP relay works because WKS2 can get an ip address from the SRV1 when starting Windows 8. However, WKS1 and WKS2 in PXE startup I get this message.

    Any ideas?

I solved the problem, it turns out that option 66 and 67 was not configured in my DHCP for the scope that has been maintaining the "LAN workstation.

I have configured the DHCP in SRV1

Option 66 for point on my WDS server.

and Option 67 to point to the 64-bit version of wdsnbsp.com in the wds server.
