Bootcamp requiring 50 GB partition?

Hello

I have a Macbook Air and I want to run 10 Windows on my mac using Bootcamp. I have an external flash (1 TB) drive that I use for the return to the top of my mac.

This continues to appear each time I have support to continue.

How to free up this space? I went about this Mac-> storage and it shows that I have 17 GB free... How can I get rid of this thing? 18 GB is in the bar. Any ideas how I'm supposed to get rid of this? I have an application of great Perspective that I use to see what is take how much space. I have no pictures on my mac; they are all on my external flash drive.

I've done it before. I ran 10 Windows on my mac before, but I undid the partition. Subsequently, I had all this space is taken and I don't know why. Help?

What size is your drive? My advice is that you need at least 100 GB for Windows 10 and Windows data. You must remove applications and data to free space.

By adding a third partition you have damaged the boot loader. If you use Boot Camp to run Windows, so you cannot add a third partition. • Uninstall and reinstall the Bootcamp files in the partition Windows 10?

Lonely T had a suggestion regarding a previous post, but I had already looked at the post, he suggests consulting, with no luck.  No further response.  So I try another tack before coming back to Win 7.

I upgraded partition Win 7 Ultimate to win 10 Pro 10 days and installed drivers 8.1 on Macbook Pro 17 "early 2011."  Apple does not support Windows 10 on these machines, although many noted that they have been able to install it using 8.1 drivers - as I did.  Everything works in win 10 EXCEPT:

    1. by logging into my account, sometimes, the computer crashes because it loads the thumbnail of the bootcamp Control Panel, which gives a BAD_POOL_HEADER BlueScreen, after what win 10 restarts.  It is possible, of course, that the problem lies in fact in the attempt to load another program.  However:

    2. when the loading of the miniature of Bootcamp not breaks down the computer, trying to get access to the control panel often crash to give up - again - the BAD_POOL_HEADER blue, followed by an automatic restart screen.

All drivers are 'best machine', etc.  Memory - 16 GB - is fine and has no problem under Win 7 or OS X 10.11.3.

Version of Bootcamp 3.0, which is what has worked with Win 7, although there are newer versions.

I guess this isn't a common problem.  Any suggestions on what can be done before I abandon Win 10 and return to Win 7?  I am even willing to uninstall Bootcamp in the Win 10 score and try to load it using the automatic installation of 8.1, but not heard about someone who has tried this and had success with it.  (I love 10 and am tired of being told in Win 7 that I should update to Win10.  "But I don't want to waste time with nuisance Bootcamp crashes at 10).

The Intel GPU drivers seem to cause a lot of grief on Mac before 2012, when executing W10.

    1. can you check if the Windows installation is EFI (use msinfo32 and look at the Mode of BIOS).

2 W7 is usually installed using old BIOS/MBR on Mac 2011. The hardware exposed through the layer of CSM-BIOS is not the same as that exposed through EFI. For example, the layer CSM cache the Intel GPU integrated. You can check what cards you currently have in the Device Manager? Please also check devices hidden using view-> the box show hidden devices.

3 W7/W8.1 drivers are not different from the BC driver packages 5.x series.

4 W10 has a more rigorous application of the drivers and does not load the unsigned drivers that have been allowed in W7/W8.1 5.x series.

    5. the W8.1/W10 BC6 drivers series is necessary.

    6. you need not install drivers BC6 and he just use generic Windows drivers, but some of your specific Apple hardware does not work the same OS X and W10 using this approach.

    7. most of the users have installed individual pilots as a solution, in some cases using administrator rights and compatibility mode.

8 event Viewer would be the best place to search for the driver that caused the exception.

9 automatic update of Windows seems to be broken in W10. It installs drivers that are appropriate for your hardware, but these accidents cause drivers, reboot, BSOD, etc..

  • How to use the Fusion and my whole bootcamp partition?

Here's what I want to do...

I have a bootcamp with Windows XP partition on this already...  I installed merger and created a brand new Windows XP on it and everything goes smoothly.  There are times when I want to start windows in my score so I can play my games without having to run two operating systems at the same time.

I was able to do this with Parallels for a long time, but I have since then switched.  My question is...  How to use my bootcamp with merge partition?  I just want to be able to run Fusion when I'm not playing games, and when I am, simply restart so I can get my complete resources of computers.

Well, the reason why you did not see the Virtual Machine library window was because the Windows XP Home Edition virtual computer is configured to start automatically when the merger opens such indicated by the orange and white star.  By clicking on the orange/white star if he stops automatically load and clicking on the blue/white star it will become orange/white

Just a little note... The CONTENT on Bootcamp is not what I want to use. I want to use Windows XP from VMWare Fusion I have done, but on the training camp of partition.

Based on what you said it sounds like what you want to do a (Virtual, physical) V2P transfer and while this is feasible technically is not necessarily a simple process and V2P requires that the source properly prepared to be transferred to a different material and then an Image created, and then loaded into the Boot Camp partition.  It is outside the scope of his abilities and VMware Fusion and requires the use of tools 3rd party and knowledge of such a process of preforms.  IMO, if one may wonder how to do that, so it's just better than you manually rebuild the Boot Camp partition to suite your needs if the current configuration does not meet your needs.  That said a clean generation always produces a less problematic situation and provides long-term for a better overall performance however if you want to search the forum or Internet V2P or physical Virtual you can find more information on what it has been covered before.

  • Bootcamp partition extended, now cannot start Windows

Hi all, hope you can help. Running Windows 7 on Bootcamp partition. OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 on the other side.

Needed to make Windows larger partition to install away from port, although comments, not sure that all this pain is worth it. That's what's happened so far:

    1. I enlarged the Bootcamp using disk utility partition

2 restart the computer and now the Alt key, I could not see the usual option to start the Windows partition.

3 then I read that I had to go to the preferences system and make my boot drive Bootcamp, I did.

4 but on reboot, I get the error message "no boot device - insert the diskette and press any".

    5. isn't a step 5. The hope that you could help me find one.

Thanks in advance for any wisdom.

How to enlarge a Boot Camp partition is either:

    a. assistant Boot Camp use to remove Windows and refer the reader to a single partition. Then reinstall Windows using Boot Camp Assistant by specifying the size of Boot Camp, that you need for now.

    b. use CampTune, a third-party application, to resize one already set up to the Boot Camp partition.

  • Bootcamp partition does not appear at startup

    Hello

I'm on iMac 27 inches, end of 2013, and I have a problem. A week ago I tried to clean my mac and start from the beginning. Because my mac has been very slow. Then I do what it takes. So, apparently, I erased all macintosh hd and leave bootcamp partition. So I used for a while because I was tired. And yesterday I don't know what I have everything in the bootcamp partition and recovery of mac has just finished after 4 hours I was relaxing and wanted to extend my bootcamp partition. I don't know how, I deleted both the partition boot and forcefully repeat thing of recovery for 4-5 hours. So now I mavericks, disc bootcamp as not a partition and a very weak internet because of the recovery. And cannot choose the startup as a bootcamp drive or can't do anything for the bootcamp partition disk utility... Can you help me? I'm sorry if I could not tell you very clearly

Off topic: should I upgrade to el capitan and yosemite? Or leave it as Mavericks?

    Thanks for your replies!

  • Startup BOOTCAMP partition problems

Hi, I've seen a few posts that are very similar to mine, but I can't seem to get to the bottom of this issue. Here's the background on what happened:

I ran El Capitan on a single OS X partition and decided to run Boot Camp Assistant and install Windows 10 on a new partition. It worked perfectly, and I have been using Windows and start back. So, I decided that I would create a new partition for easy sharing files between the 2 BONES using a Fat-32 file system so that the two operating systems can have read/write access. I did it with the disk sideways utility Mac and everything seemed to go smoothly. Also, I don't touch my BOOTCAMP partition, but took all the space for the new partition on the side Mac. Everything seemed fine... until I tried to start again under BOOTCAMP. Now this partition is not recognized as bootable, but it is accessible from the side Mac and everything seems intact.

I ran the command diskutil list and here is the result:

    / dev/disk0 (internal, physical):

    #: NAME SIZE TYPE IDENTIFIER

My theory was that because the BOOTCAMP partition moved from 4 to 5, this confused sort of things. I decided that I loved not more to have the shared partition, so I erased it. Then I tried to delete this partition, but I am unable to do by using normal mode or recovery disk utility. I tried to disassemble and then delete in both modes. I scoured the internet looking for a solution and I am completely stuck. This seems like it should be a super simple solution, but it is frustrating that I can't understand it. I don't think that I've damaged or corrupted something and I just need to be able to start in Bootcamp.

    Help, please!

    Thanks in advance!

Still have not solved this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

  • Bootcamp has not finished - how can I continue installing windows on the new partition?

    Hi thanks for reading me.

I started the bootcamp, it created the partition and install windows started 8.1.

He asked for the location of the reader, so I chose my USB hard disk (read here which was possible) - SSD space is such a premium.

I was told that the format of the disc is not FAT GUD, so I gave up installing.

I used the disk utility to reformat the external hard drive.

How can I get the windows partition now rerun the installation process?

I tried the OPTION start upward, but the new partition does not show yet.

  • Can't find/delete Bootcamp Partition

Tried to use bootcamp to create a partition for my copy of windows, that I just got. He was suspended for a while creating the partition, so I force-quit it as several users online said to try to resolve the situation. Tried then to find and delete the partition, he tried to create. Ended up crashing the disk utility or something so I force restarted the computer to see if that helped. Now I can't find the partition on the disk utility at all, it shows the drive as having 1 TB less than expected (the size of the partition, I created or attempted to create), and he does it for some reason, introduce yourself when I press 'alt' on my keyboard on the computer.

Is there a way to delete this partition and try this again without any reformatting my hard drive and restore from backup? I have a time machine backup, I don't want to wait 12 hours for 1 TB of data to be transferred...

Please see the solution in doesn't have windows via bootcamp 8.1 installation .

Note: These senses are different, so what have already been posted in the forum to read and follow through... Note: These steps assume that you have a single Apple to default installation of Windows on a single Boot Camp partition and Boot Camp of VMware Fusion single default partition Machine virtual (without a snapshot *) and if you have changed the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine to add additional hard disks to be virtual or RAW disk then do not use these instructions unless you backup the Boot Camp partition the Machine package virtual first. * Also note that Fusion 2.0.0 may accidentally have a snapshot with the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine and it should not have, then you should check to ensure that the condition does not exist as well. (With merger closed if the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine package is over 1 MB in size, then you might have a snapshot in place and do not continue with these instructions.)

    1. If the merger is open, close it.

    2. in a Terminal (/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal) copy and paste command, as the following and then press Enter and it will delete the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine of the metadata and the Virtual Machine to help.
