Hi, I've seen a few posts that are very similar to mine, but I can't seem to get to the bottom of this issue. Here's the background on what happened:

I ran El Capitan on a single OS X partition and decided to run Boot Camp Assistant and install Windows 10 on a new partition. It worked perfectly, and I have been using Windows and start back. So, I decided that I would create a new partition for easy sharing files between the 2 BONES using a Fat-32 file system so that the two operating systems can have read/write access. I did it with the disk sideways utility Mac and everything seemed to go smoothly. Also, I don't touch my BOOTCAMP partition, but took all the space for the new partition on the side Mac. Everything seemed fine... until I tried to start again under BOOTCAMP. Now this partition is not recognized as bootable, but it is accessible from the side Mac and everything seems intact.

I ran the command diskutil list and here is the result:

    / dev/disk0 (internal, physical):

My theory was that because the BOOTCAMP partition moved from 4 to 5, this confused sort of things. I decided that I loved not more to have the shared partition, so I erased it. Then I tried to delete this partition, but I am unable to do by using normal mode or recovery disk utility. I tried to disassemble and then delete in both modes. I scoured the internet looking for a solution and I am completely stuck. This seems like it should be a super simple solution, but it is frustrating that I can't understand it. I don't think that I've damaged or corrupted something and I just need to be able to start in Bootcamp.

    Help, please!

    Thanks in advance!

Still have not solved this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

  • Blue screen on startup, the system restore / repair did not work?

Hi, I get a blue screen on startup and cannot start windows - with the error code x0000007E.

I followed the steps on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958233#StartupRepair however runs the repair does not work, and did the system restore.

Will be saved my files / is there a way to fix this? Thank you!

    Hello

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

Use Ubuntu Live CD to backup files from your Windows computer dead

The system has RAID? If so, it's also very suspicious.

This error is usually a driver problem and display adapter (video) driver is the most suspicious if she
may be others. Antivirus/antispyware/security programs, equipment (heat) and major software problems
can also cause the error. When you get to the section of the driver to use the Troubleshoot utility my generic
methods in the next message and then return to the if necessary troubleshooting tool.

Have you recently added hardware or drivers updated? Don't forget to look in Control Panel - Windows
Updates to see if all drivers have been updated it. Other donor opportunities include the antivirus/anti-
    spyware/security programs.

When you get to the pilot and sections of the memory of the troubleshooter check the following message to
update drivers and memory test and then return to the troubleshooter if necessary.

    BCCode: 7F 0x0000007E which is also 0x1000007E

    Cause

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED bug control is a very common bug control. TO
interpret, you must identify which exception has been generated.

    Common exception codes are:

    • 0xc0000005: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION indicates a memory access violation has occurred.

For a complete list of exception codes, see the Ntstatus.h file located in theinc directory
the Microsoft Windows Driver Kit (WDK).

    Solve the problem

If you do not have to debug this problem, you must use certain basic troubleshooting techniques.

    • Make sure you have enough disk space.
    • If a driver is identified in the bug check message, disable the driver or check with the
    • Reference of the manufacturer for driver updates.
    • Try changing video cards.
    • Check with your hardware vendor for updates to the BIOS.
    • Disable the BIOS memory options such as implementing caching or shading.

If you plan to debug this problem, you may find it difficult to get a stack trace. Parameter 2
(the address of the exception) must identify the driver or function that caused the problem.

If the exception code 0 x 80000003 occurs, a hard-coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but the system
has been launched with the /nodebug. switch. This problem should occur infrequently. If it occurs repeatedly,
Make sure that a kernel debugger is connected and the system is booted with the Switch/DEBUG .

In case of exception code 0 x 80000002, the trap frame provides additional information.

If you do not know the specific cause of the exception, consider the following questions:

    • Hardware incompatibility. Make sure all new hardware that is installed is listed in the
    • List of Microsoft Windows Marketplace tested products.
    • Service driver or defective peripheral system. A service driver or defective peripheral system can be
    • responsible for this error. Hardware problems, such as the incompatibilities of the BIOS, memory, conflicts
    • and IRQ conflicts can also generate this error.

If a driver is listed by name in the bug check message, disable or remove that driver. Disable
or remove drivers or services that have been recently added. If the error occurs during startup
sequence and the system partition is formatted with the NTFS file system, you may be able to use safe
Mode to rename or to delete the faulty driver. If the driver is used as part of the system startup procedure
in Safe Mode, you must start the computer by using the Recovery Console to access the file.

If the problem is associated with Win32k.sys, the source of the error may be a third remote
control program. If this software is installed, you can remove the boot of the computer service
by using the Recovery Console, and then by removing the offending system service file.

Check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the
device or the driver that generated the bug check 0x7E.

You can also disable memory cache BIOS may try to resolve the error. You should also
Run the diagnostics of material, especially the scanner memory, which provides the manufacturer of the system.
For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

The error that generates this message may occur after the first reboot during Windows Setup, or
Once the installation is complete. A possible cause of the error is lack of disk space for installation and system
BIOS incompatibilities. For problems during the installation of Windows that are associated with the absence of disc
space, reduce the number of files on the disk drive hard target. Find and delete any temporary
the files that you do not have to have files hidden Internet, backup application and.chkfiles files that
contain fragments of file saved to disk scans. You can also use another hard drive with more drive
free space for the installation. You can solve the problems of BIOS by upgrading the version of the system BIOS.

  • Partition missing at startup Bootcamp

I have a Mid 2012 Macbook Pro and I can't seem to be able to start on my Windows partition. I've been running Windows 10 (Windows 7 Pro upgrade) on a 1 TB HARD drive. This problem only comes to happen, after starting to install Bootcamp on another SSD installed in my optical Bay. List of events:

    1. Replace my optical drive with an SSD using an Optibay MSE adapter
    2. Winclone to create an image of my current bootcamp partition
    3. Downloaded an ISO of Windows 10 image on my bootcamp partition
    4. The Boot Camp Assistant, used to create a Setup disk with the drivers on a USB key is empty
    5. Wizard Boot Camp, trying to install Windows 10 on the new SSD
    6. Installation is complete, but on reboot, started to black white screen
    7. Attempt to restart and booted to a black screen with flashing underscore concerns
    8. Initialized to Mac and shaped something was not right, so reformatted the new SSD to FAT
    9. Tried to boot into the old partition Boot camp, only to start on white screen
    10. Disconnected from other SSDS, as suspected, he was causing problems (do not do anything)
    11. Attempt to restore the winclone image of old partition backup
    12. Winclone restoration resulted in creating an EFI disc, as well as what looks like my old drive BOOTCAMP.
    13. Tried to restart in the TRAINING camp from boot disk, which brings me to a black screen with flashing line of underscore.

This brings me to now. I have the feeling that I messed up the partition table. When you hold the option at boot, I am only offered Macintosh HD, EFI startup and recovery - 10.10. Any idea what I can do to successfully start windows?

Windows Setup requires several reboots. Did the restart to complete it successfully? The pilots of the BC did install correctly?

EFI boot that is used to install on the SSD drive? Your subsequent statement on EFI boot indicates that is the case, but need to confirm.

Initialized to Mac and shaped something was not right, so reformatted the new SSD to FAT

Tried to boot into the old partition Boot camp, only to start on white screen

What is expected. Each disc has it's own independent EFI. BCA is updating the EFI to disk0, pointing to the SSD, which deleted you. It is impossible to boot EFI Windows since the 1 TB HARD drive. BIOS/MBR is a completely different path.

Disconnected from other SSDS, as suspected, he was causing problems (do not do anything)

What is still expected. See previous explanation.

Attempt to restore the winclone image of old partition backup
Winclone restoration resulted in creating an EFI disc, as well as what looks like my old drive BOOTCAMP.

Winclone has the ability to restore EFI or MBR. It depends on the model. Your specific model supports both approaches. You can check this by using the Applications-> utilities-> Console and type "Winclone' at the top of the search page to the right area, then check the logs. She restored EFI, which is why you see Boot EFI when using Alt/Opt.

Tried to restart in the TRAINING camp from boot disk, which brings me to a black screen with flashing line of underscore.

This because EFI boot is now the problems causing the GPU. Yours is a 13 inch or a MBP 15 - in?

  • Cannot complete startup on Satellite P300 repair

    Hi all

This is my first post, so please be nice. :)

I have searched posts and google for ideas but am not coming up with all erases responses pertaining to my question.

For several weeks now, my laptop was very slow and crashes when you use quite often cause me to have to manually stop the unit by holding the button for 10 seconds.

This eventually led me to restore my unit at the end of the condition of the box using the recovery partition. In the next few days, I have updated windows, drivers, etc.

I noticed a very slight improvement in performance, but he "still felt" warm and then frozen again. Manually, I restarted and was given two options:

    Windows Startup Repair (recommended)
    Start windows normally

I chose the repair option only to receive a message saying that windows could not repair the startup. The details of the diagnosis and repair gave me root causes of:
A recent driver installation or upgrade may prevent the system from starting.
Repair action: repair and checking the integrity of system files.
    Result: failed. Error code = 0 x 490
    Time: 529733 ms

I then went into system recovery options and selected and windows memory diagnostic tool restart now and check for problems.
Laptop computer has restarted and began testing. Once the test is complete the device tried to restart but hung on a black screen with only the cursor visible.

    Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

Looks like the installed Windows operating system is corrupt
In my eyes, you should try to reinstall new OS.
If you have important files on the HARD drive, then you could try to start Notepad using a live CD; like Linux, Windows PE (WinPE) or BartPE
    http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

That would help you get access to the files on the HARD drive that you could save on external USB HDD or USB flash memory.

  • BootCamp "preparation-auto-repair" after the triple-boot Linux install.

Hi everyone and thank you in advance for your help, I'm pretty desperate here...

    I use a retina MacbookPro 13 "with dual-boot OS X el-captain and Win8.1 for years, with also a small third partition"shared file ".

Today, I needed to install a small partition (ubuntu14), so I decided to take a part of the macOS (26g) of Linux Ubuntu partition.

Everything went well during the installation process, but now I can only access my OSX. When starting with "command-key" Linux is not appear at all and Win8.1 goes to 'prepare-auto-repair' blue screen without other information.

I tried to install refit or without success.

    Running diskutil list:

disk0s2 is my OS X partition

disk0s3 is my OS X recovery partition

    disk0s4, that's where I think I installed correctly Ubuntu14

disk0s5 is my shared files Partition (worked between osX and win8.1)

disk0s6 is my Bootcamp Partition of Win8.1

    Running diskutil list of cs:

    TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0 : running

    Running disk/dev/disk0:

Thank you in advance to those who can help me on this.

    All the best,

    Yoln.

In addition, with regard to this topic: 'not bootable after Ubuntu Installer Bootcamp. "

I have the exact same blue screen when you try to run Win8.1, but I never see the reclamation / screen, only right boot to OS X, if I don't press any keys.

  • PC counters each attempt to fix/repair and finally, the loop to stop/restart windows Explorer.

So beyond, I'm done with this laptop. He started by run me windows update and the awakening of a BSOD. Now browse those tedious threads, I know that the next thing people want are the dumpfiles. Well, you cannot make them because it won't create dumpfiles. I checked everywhere for them and double-checked to make sure that when I got bsod it is correctly configured to do. It will not create them. So ok, the next thing people say is running scandisk Sfc. Nope, BSOD in the course. Chkdsk? Nope, BSOD. during the. This laptop has a coherent dpc latency problem where every 10-13 seconds it stings really high, distorting the audio. I tried to disable drivers, update drivers, pulling on the battery, and it won't go away. To * with it I say, I can deal with that, besides there is probably a hardware problem, it's an old inspiron 5040. The greatest success in fixing something comes sfc running in safe mode with cmd prompt. He got to 100% and has absolutely nothing more. All this stems from the windows updates failed. But this latest issue is the water drop. Before the windows explore stopped working/restart loop, which prevents me from running damn near all executable on ANY startup mode, I was getting semi-fonctionnalites off safe mode with network. I was inside my damndest to try to solve the problems without paying a penny for the repair (because it's my operating system from windows to the 3rd address I got incredibly frustrated with questions and I'm NOT GOING to sink more money into the purchase/solve this *) but after a month of countless BSOD and failed system restore (BSOD on those too) I decided to say the * with it , it can still be used for browsing with chrome at least, since I found a way to activate the sounds of the internet registry. I had used it for about a month and realized that internet Explorer was causing in fact a kind of conflicts, because all applications requiring an i.e worked incorrectly, display of white windows resources that need to be pulled with knowledge then I tried to reinstall that is and makes the mistake of restarting, forget the automatic Windows Update. Well, I is none of that with this time and tried to turn off the pc before it started with nothing else than a glorified blue screening method. To restart, I got "windows is the restoration of changes", another reboot, then a "Welcome" I get started in the regular office, (not safe mode or anything like that) and he gives me a small white window with "custom settings" on it and literally nothing else. No toolbar, no desktop shortcuts. Wait a few seconds and I get "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and the option to close the window. safemodes boot loop to stop/restart windows Explorer and I can't do anything appear the Task Manager which is pretty useless, because I can't really do anything here except close programs that are not accessible in the first place. Safe mode only I can enter is the one with the command prompt. I don't really know what else to do. Quite happy to take a hammer and break the laptop for parts. There are so many problems with this thing, I doubt that someone will be able to help in any way especially withouth minidumps the BSOD. But if there is something simple that I'm missing for at least the minimum functionality that I was getting out of it until windows update in ruins me, feel free to try to solve the problems. The code the most common bsod I get is 0xf4. I put my money on half of the problem with the hard drive itself and the rest of the question was any other defective hardware. But ill be doomed if I buy another harddrive just to have more questions.

    Hello

Generally, this problem is caused due to hardware or software related issues. As you mentioned that you have completed the restoration of the system and sets the Explorer loo, I would like to know if the problem is resolved or not.

Regarding performance related questions, I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it works for you.

    Method 1:

Try the procedure described in the following Microsoft Help article and check if that helps. This Microsoft Help article consists of the steps to optimize Windows to improve performance.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/optimize-Windows-better-performance#optimize-Windows-better-performance=Windows-7

    Method 2:

Put the computer to boot and check if the problem persists. This troubleshooting will help you find what third-party program or the app is the cause of this problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, see the "How to reset the computer to start as usual after a clean boot troubleshooting" section in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Please reply with the status of the issue so that we can better help you.

  • Satellite A215-S4757 blue screen & startup failure after HARD drive partitioning

I just bought a Satellite A215-S4757 a week ago & I tried to divide my hard drive coz, I was only one partion (250 GB) using acronis disk director.

After that I got the blue screen and now I failed to start and I tried all the options to repair my windows or load in SafeMode to no avail coz it crashes just from the window of microsoft corporation.

I tried to reinstall windows vista with the cd but still does not!
    pls someone helo me :(

    Hello

Creator of disc of Acronis does not for me but I know for sure that you can split the capacity of the HARD drive into two partitions with rendering recovery DVDs. Start your laptop with recovery DVDs and check the option to install it.

You must have a mobile US model. I am from Europe and I don't know about you how it works with the recovery media in the United States, but it should be similar to the European and because of that it must be an option to divide the capacity of the HARD disk with two partitions.

Please try again. It should work somehow.

By adding a third partition you have damaged the boot loader. If you use Boot Camp to run Windows, so you cannot add a third partition. To set things straight, you will need to repartition the disk to a single partition and try again. A $20 alternative that might work for troubleshoot you is Paragon CampTune X.

  • Bootcamp requiring 50 GB partition?

    Hello

I have a Macbook Air and I want to run 10 Windows on my mac using Bootcamp. I have an external flash (1 TB) drive that I use for the return to the top of my mac.

This continues to appear each time I have support to continue.

How to free up this space? I went about this Mac-> storage and it shows that I have 17 GB free... How can I get rid of this thing? 18 GB is in the bar. Any ideas how I'm supposed to get rid of this? I have an application of great Perspective that I use to see what is take how much space. I have no pictures on my mac; they are all on my external flash drive.

I've done it before. I ran 10 Windows on my mac before, but I undid the partition. Subsequently, I had all this space is taken and I don't know why. Help?

What size is your drive? My advice is that you need at least 100 GB for Windows 10 and Windows data. You must remove applications and data to free space.

  • Uninstall and reinstall the Bootcamp files in the partition Windows 10?

Lonely T had a suggestion regarding a previous post, but I had already looked at the post, he suggests consulting, with no luck.  No further response.  So I try another tack before coming back to Win 7.

I upgraded partition Win 7 Ultimate to win 10 Pro 10 days and installed drivers 8.1 on Macbook Pro 17 "early 2011."  Apple does not support Windows 10 on these machines, although many noted that they have been able to install it using 8.1 drivers - as I did.  Everything works in win 10 EXCEPT:

    1. by logging into my account, sometimes, the computer crashes because it loads the thumbnail of the bootcamp Control Panel, which gives a BAD_POOL_HEADER BlueScreen, after what win 10 restarts.  It is possible, of course, that the problem lies in fact in the attempt to load another program.  However:

    2. when the loading of the miniature of Bootcamp not breaks down the computer, trying to get access to the control panel often crash to give up - again - the BAD_POOL_HEADER blue, followed by an automatic restart screen.

All drivers are 'best machine', etc.  Memory - 16 GB - is fine and has no problem under Win 7 or OS X 10.11.3.

Version of Bootcamp 3.0, which is what has worked with Win 7, although there are newer versions.

I guess this isn't a common problem.  Any suggestions on what can be done before I abandon Win 10 and return to Win 7?  I am even willing to uninstall Bootcamp in the Win 10 score and try to load it using the automatic installation of 8.1, but not heard about someone who has tried this and had success with it.  (I love 10 and am tired of being told in Win 7 that I should update to Win10.  "But I don't want to waste time with nuisance Bootcamp crashes at 10).

The Intel GPU drivers seem to cause a lot of grief on Mac before 2012, when executing W10.

    1. can you check if the Windows installation is EFI (use msinfo32 and look at the Mode of BIOS).

2 W7 is usually installed using old BIOS/MBR on Mac 2011. The hardware exposed through the layer of CSM-BIOS is not the same as that exposed through EFI. For example, the layer CSM cache the Intel GPU integrated. You can check what cards you currently have in the Device Manager? Please also check devices hidden using view-> the box show hidden devices.

3 W7/W8.1 drivers are not different from the BC driver packages 5.x series.

4 W10 has a more rigorous application of the drivers and does not load the unsigned drivers that have been allowed in W7/W8.1 5.x series.

    5. the W8.1/W10 BC6 drivers series is necessary.

    6. you need not install drivers BC6 and he just use generic Windows drivers, but some of your specific Apple hardware does not work the same OS X and W10 using this approach.

    7. most of the users have installed individual pilots as a solution, in some cases using administrator rights and compatibility mode.

8 event Viewer would be the best place to search for the driver that caused the exception.

9 automatic update of Windows seems to be broken in W10. It installs drivers that are appropriate for your hardware, but these accidents cause drivers, reboot, BSOD, etc..
