Border in black screen HP Mini 210, screen shifted downwards - problem after power outage

HP Mini 210-1000 actually it's HP Mini 210-1060 EV PC

Some specifications:

Display: 25.6 cm (10.1 ") diagonal WSVGA LED HP BrightView Infinity Widescreen Display (1024 x 600) SUBMISSION

Battery has been dead for a long time.

My display drivers and BIOS have been recently updated from the HP website.

After a power failure and a reboot, the screen looks weird. It was moved about an inch down with a black border at the top, on which the mouse won't and the task bar is not visible, as is the bottom of the screen.

When I go to the screen resolution in Windows by right-clicking on the desktop resolution is set at 1024 x 768, when I click on advanced settings, the monitor tab, monitor is set as a Monitor (1024 x 768 60 Hz) generic Non-PnP.

When I change to 1024 x 600 it seems blurred and stretched vertically, but the screen is always shifted down with black border on top.

When I get the Intel graphics settings I can make the same changes as in the dialog Windows (640 x 480, 800 x 600, 1024 x 600, 1024 x 768).

In image format Options when I select full-screen (non-frontiere) the black border is fixed but always tense vertical screen but the screen is cut down with no visible taskbar.

Graphics driver reinstalled so that some Type Monitor of windows drivers, nothing changes.

When I turn on the laptop, the screen HP Quickweb appears also as a 1024 x 600 stretched vertically without black border at the top but will disable the display down.

It seems that Windows and Hp Quickweb see at 1024 x 768 60 Hz display after the power failure.

Before that, I had installed Windows updates, but nothing on the display drivers.

I only got a point system restore leave on earlier that day (very low disk space?) but that did nothing.

Guess it is a registry/driver issue since no pixel is bad and the black border on top is set in image format Options when I select full-screen (sans-bordure). Any suggestions please?

SOLVED.

After noticing the OS startup screen/HP resolution looked normal, I just removed the plastic bottom and hit the CMOS battery, after reading this somewhere, because the audio drivers and webcam have been uninstalled too whenever I rebooted the netbook.

He has not moved even because it was recorded well.

So I restarted and the resolution has been set.

Now, can't make the webcam work even though I reinstalled the driver...

    What should I do?

    Help, please...

    Hello

After the passage of the CSM and disabling secure boot UEFI mode, you will not be able to boot from the HARD disk as the installation of Windows 8 requires secure boot and the mode of the UEFI.

Now you can boot from the disc or other media bootable (USB flash key) to install the Windows 7 system.

I guess you've made these changes installed Windows 7. Right?

I think that the hard drive has failed. Any help would be welcome as its out of warranty (16 months).

A big thank you in advance, Neil.

In my opinion it has nothing to do with the hard drive. I assume that there is a problem of electronic power supply. I have a similar problem with my A300 and at the moment I put t know what to do.
Repair is probably quite expensive so I m thinking about selling on eBay as being faulty.

Problem is that we cannot do much. What should do? You can dismount, take a look inside and put the new.

Either it works or not. I'm afraid that your problem is for the service and it must be checked by the guys from the services of m.

    Hello @ community!

    I had a P-300-21Z. 1 month.
Last time I got the shot screen SD card in black and never returned to normal...

The PC works fine on the external screen...
I can see what is on the computer laptop screen at the back but is almost completely black...

My guess is it is the lamp of the screen burned!

    What do you think?

    Thank you.

    > I can see what is on the computer laptop screen at the back but is almost completely black...
    Sounds like an inverter problem.

The FL inverter (very small part behind the screen frame) is responsible for the backlight of the screen and it controls the backlight.
If the FL inverter will start to malfunction, then you would see everything as behind a fog of ticks, I think this is your case

I recommend contacting ASP which would be able to help you.
The P300 notebook is not very old, and I think the warranty to be valid.

    See you soon

  • Black screen HP DV2740SE problem

    Hi all

I have this laptop DV2740SE a little more than 2 years. Everything worked fine until last night.

I was doing my work, but all of a sudden, the screen turned black screen. And he just hung in the black screen.

I did the forced closure and back running the computer. And there was nothing, it was only a black screen when I rebooted. (It's a dead black screen, not as direct black screen with light background).

I can't even reach the BIOS screen. And the LED on the hard drive was off all the time.

Only happened once, after a couple of times of switching forced on, and besides, I somehow got to the loading ONCE screen windows (* LED disc doing this time.). But, once again, her tour splash screen to this flag of windows screen and stopped.

I have recently upgraded the OS from VISTA home premium to Windows 7 Professional for 3 weeks. And it had worked very well.

    Anyone have ideas on this?

    Please notify. Thanks in advance.

  • Inspiron 3437 black screen on wake-up after update 8.1

    Hi guys,.

I recently bought this dell inspiron 3437 and windows update to 8.1.

After the update, the screen remains black if the laptop has been in mode 'sleep' for more of, say, a few minutes.

I read that it is a common problem after update to 8.1 windows, but I have not found a solution that works for my laptop.

    Any ideas on that?

Update: yesterday I returned to windows 8, assuming that the 8.1 caused this problem.
However, I get a black screen on wake up again and I have to do a hard reset.

Edit: went back to 8.1 so that I could install this driver from Intel. Why is it not a standard update or in the support section of the driver dell?
    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&DwnldID=23323&keyword=4400+graphics+driver&DownloadType=drivers&lang=eng

Edit 2: AAARGH, who has not yet set... After a few hours of sleep he still would not wake up properly.
So, I choose not to let my laptop to sleep, instead I leave it hibernation.

I have changed this in the poweroptions. Just put everything to hibernate instead of sleep (so when the lid is closed, when you press the powerbutton).
It takes a few seconds extra for the laptop to wake up (but still quite fast, less than 10 seconds), but at least the screen comes alive.

PS. Sorry for all the dubble posts suite thisone. Assume that something went wrong yesterday.

  • Pavilion g6t-2000 black screen & Sleep Mode problem

    Features of the laptop:
Name: HP Pavilion g6t-2000 CTO Notebook

    CPU: Intel I3 - 2370 m 2.4 GHz, Intel HD 3000

GPU: AMD Radeon HD m 7670

    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

So over the past two weeks, I have been having a problem with my laptop after installation of an update to the beta with my GPU driver. Whenever I put my computer to sleep mode and turn on I get a black screen. The computer is turned on and set to lock the screen, so if I typed my password, it'll make the connection noise. Also, if I look at the right angle, I see a very dimmed screen which is there before I moved it in mode 'sleep'. Strangely when I put the laptop in hibernate mode and turn back on the screen is fine.

    Things I've tired:

    • Removed the beta driver and the GPU of HP drivers installed via the HP website
    • Update BIOS f.25 (latest driver)
    • Changed the power of options such as checking to see if hybrid sleep is turned off
    • Check the BIOS, it is very little options and none has to do with my problems. Only thing I can see on BIOS is to change the boot priority and enable and disable the little features like "fan always on / off", etc.
    • Running sfc/scannow

On a side note, my laptop has been dropped about a week BEFORE the update to the beta GPU on a foot of my bed. "Sleep" mode was not affected by what I know. I was also reading autour on a power inverter and there may be possible that it has been damaged and if you think it is maybe it how can I test it? Thank you.

I finally got the time to do a restore on my HP Pavilion laptop factory g6t-2000 settings and after doing a test with the AMD drivers, I discovered that drivers AMD were the problem holding my laptop to wake up full-screen mode 'sleep'. Thank you very much for your help AxshunJaxun.

I recommend to not install the AMD drivers and once you do and that you do not have a restore point the only solution is a factory restore settings.

  • Windows 8 black screen and the cursor after the connection

Hello. I tried to upgrade to 8.1 Windows 8 Windows and it is stuck on like 3% for one hour, so I just rebooted the computer and he returned to Windows 8. I'm going to sleep and come back the next day and go on my laptop and it auto connects me and it goes to a black screen and I only have the slider on the black screen after login. I don't see the start menu, but I receive notifications for as sticky keys or any other notifications lights. I turned off my computer at least 20 times, took out the battery, empty the battery and tried to boot in safe mode with no luck. It is unlikely that it is an internal problem, because if I leave my computer alone for a few minutes, my screen saver photos appear. If anyone can help me solve this problem or help me get in easier safe mode would make things less stressful. I have an Acer Aspire V5 - 571 series. Thank you.

    Hi Roy,

This problem may occur because of corrupted on the computer boot files.

I suggest you to perform the checking and automatic repair if this solves the problem.

If you do not have a DVD of Windows 8, I suggest you check out the link to see how to create an installation of Windows 8 media:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

    Follow the methods suggested below:

    Method 1:

Start on the recovery environment using the installation of Windows 8 media.

    Follow the steps below:

Note: before proceeding further, make sure that the boot priority is set on DVD drive in BIOS. BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    • Insert the DVD to install Windows 8 on DVD-ROM and restart your computer.
    • After you start your computer by using the Windows DVD or the system repair disc, a black screen is displayed with the gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press a button on any.
    • Select the type of keyboard and good time.
    • Click repair your computer in the lower left corner.
    • Select Troubleshooting in choose an option screen.
    • In Troubleshooting screen, click Advanced options .
    • Click the automatic repair of the Advanced Options screen.
    • Then choose the operating system.
    • Windows 8 will then pick up questions on the hard drive and check that all required files are intact.

If the problem persists, proceed to the next method.

    Method 2:

Follow these steps to perform a system restore:

    • After you start your computer by using the Windows DVD or the system repair disc, a black screen is displayed with the gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press a button on any.
    • Select the type of keyboard and good time.
    • Click repair your computer in the lower left corner.
    • Select Troubleshooting in choose an option screen.
    • In troubleshooting screen, click Advanced options .
    • Select System Restore.
