Broken touchpad

I don't know what happened. Last night before I SLEEP, my touch pad was perfect. In the morning, when I checked my touch pad, it was broken into pieces in itself. I wonder if it is the problem of the quality of this product. How can I fix it?

I would check that your battery is not swelling.

Wow, it's a shame to dave-uk!   I have still two units of work.

All support for the TouchPad ended quite earlier.  Your best bet would be to search on eBay for unit from someone who is 'briquée '.  Be advised, they are somewhat difficult to disassemble without breaking the clips that hold their judgment.

There are has how disassemble the guides available from several sources on the net.

I got my new laptop I bought recently (3-4 weeks, more or less) and I noticed that my touchpad we OFTEN acting upward. Sometimes, it brings up the bar of charms and randomly opens an option while the other times, it comes up freezes. I can say that it's the freezing button and not the pc because I can still use the keyboard to do things on my laptop and I use a usb mouse that always works without fail.

I have installed many things, but I did complete frequent analysis of the system using norton internet security and it "deleted" 1 virus so far. I did a scan for malware, but I'm getting to it now.

I'll be happy to help you with the TouchPad of freezing. I don't think you need to call the Ghostbusters quite yet. It only freezes when you try access Charms Bar or it freezes at other times? Start by reinstalling your touchpad Synaptics driver.

  • Satellite L450D-11V - the touchpad button broken

Hi, I have a Satellite L450D-11V which is only about 3 months, but left under the touchpad button has just broken. It has lost its spring and sank down in the case, so it is now off. Still, it works but not very well and clearly needs repair.

My question is is it useful to open the case to see if something has slipped? The manual does not cover this, but it seems that it can be opened by removing the screws from the case under. My only concern is that I don't want to move something then not be able to re - assemble! A House would be obviously preferable to ship from Toshiba and be without it for a week.

Has anyone else had a problem with the touchpad buttons break after a short period of time?

This is typical warranty issue and even thinking laptop open on your own.
At first you do not have manuals maintenance with an exact description of how to do this and this action may void the warranty.

Contact service, explain the situation and ask how long they need for repair.

I had to reboot 3 times just to get Windows (Vista Business) to recognize my external mouse.

  • Satellite click Mini L9W - B - Elan Touchpad - lack of hyperlink driver

    Hello

Trying to be helpful, I contacted Toshiba to let them know a link broken for the latest momentum 12.8.5.1 for Mini click touch pad driver. Obviously do not try to be so useful, I received an automated email from Toshiba telling me that I had to make this post on the forum instead. This does not me a nice warm feeling on customer support levels, but hey ho...

    The link is: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-...0707101101.zip

The driver support page points you to this dead link. I can't find the file of the driver in question elsewhere on the web:

    tpdrv - 20150707101101.zip

    Dave

Obviously something went wrong during the download...

But the ELAN touchpad driver doesn't depend on the model of laptop.
You can use the ELAN touchpad driver released for other series of laptop.

So in case this link does not work, choose driver MOMENTUM released for another series of laptop Toshiba.

  • Satellite A350 - Touchpad has stopped working

My touchapad worked well on both the system and dedicated driver (synaptics). One day I turned it off using Fn + F9 and after that I couldn't activate it. I used the pilot system then. So I installed Synaptics but he says there is no device conpatible to work with. I also tried Alps - no result. So I checked bios - Pionting Dev. is. I changed this option twice thought, it can be useful - don't. Today it is about half a year since I have to use the usb mouse.

Yesterday, I restored the system - I had a full, independent image. It was created when the touchpad still worked. After restoring the touchpad does not work. So I decided to install the system fresh - same problem. I almost thought that touchpad is broken. However, today, I noticed that when I disconnect the USB mouse, and then between this action and touchapad sound (inform of this action) of the system works - for approx. 0.5 seconds. It moves! But I failed to turn on.

I don't understand what's the point. I read some post on other forums. It seems that other people have same problem. They have different but always Toshiba notebooks. I think that we need professional help. Can get us?

    Sorry for my English.
    Best regards

    Hello

To be honest I n t found other similar topics so it doesn t seem to be a common issue. Also, the touchpad on my laptop two Toshiba works perfectly and never had a problem. In addition here it s only a user to user forum where you can talk with normal people like you and me. If you want professional help, get in touch with an authorized service provider.

In any case, a point is not clear to me: you have written on several system restores, images, etc., but what images you used exactly?

In your case, I recommend a Toshiba Recovery disk recovery facility. The disc can restore factory settings (out of box) with all the necessary drivers and tools. After this installation everything should work properly again.
Otherwise it s a hardware malfunction

  • Satellite L450D - 11 H - hinge is broken. How can I solve this problem?

Unfortunately, my laptop Toshiba L450D guard split hinge when the screen is set. When the screen is put back / adjusted back a big gap appears between the screen and the box and there is a lot of noise.

When the screen is set forward (like closing) a huge gap appears on the back of the hinge. It seems that the hinge is not properly either and I think that what is happening because the hinge is stuck.

My laptop is out of warranty now that I would have taken it to a gas station for people to fix it.

    My specifications:

    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit (6.1, Build 7600)
    System manufacturer: TOSHIBA
    System model: Satellite L450D
    BIOS: Ver 1.00
Processor: AMD Sempron (TM) TR-42, ~2.1GHz
Memory: 1024 MB (1 GB) of RAM
Display: ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card
    Sound: Realtek High Definition Audio
Input: Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad + Standard PS/2 keyboard

Is there a manual way to solve this problem?

    I appreciate any assistance.

    -Michael

Way the easiest is to bring the book to the nearest Toshiba service provider. They can order the broken part and Exchange.

Manual to fix it? you mean manuals maintenance, right? Maintenance manuals is not for public use and not free for download.

  • No way to disable the touchpad on Satellite L450D - 11 X

I had my laptop Satellite L450D - 11 X, pre-installed with Windows 7 64-bit, since November and that you come to learn about the function key to turn off the touchpad - a very desirable feature. Unfortunately, pressing the combination of keys Fn + F9 does not work. There is a question answered - now closed - in this forum that advises to restore the laptop to its original configuration to address this problem, which I guess means running a HARD drive recovery procedure and restore the application software - not a trivial task. I took a chance and downloaded and installed the driver for the TouchPad Synaptics Windows 7 x 64. He has a facility to disable the touchpad in the mouse properties window, that works.

I became aware of the ability to disable the touchpad keys during the installation of new Acer laptop from a friend, who has a button next to the touchpad to market. Come the day where all laptop has such a change a lot of laptop users will be happy, judging by the number of people, I fell on the web looking for a way to disable the touchpad keys, especially when entering.

I would prefer if the L450D key combination worked, however. Does anyone know how to do this without a HARD drive recovery? Some of my other function keys are also "broken." Not vital, but I don't hate things that don't work as specified.

What you need to do is to reinstall the package of added value. You can find it on the download page of Toshiba. This package contains several tools and one of them is utility (command buttons FN) flash cards. Remove VAP preinstalled system, restart your computer and install the latest version of the Toshiba support page.

To say, this little button is also available on some models of Toshiba. If I remember well, it must be available on A500 and U500. Maybe also on some other new models of laptops.

  • Satellite C650 - Touchpad problem

Toshiba Satellite C650 - 13G PSC08E I found that the touchpad, wasn't work and left click did not work, tried all the fixes on the forum.

    Check the BIOS and update
    Function key, fine activated

That all controlled parameters appear in order, so I assumed a defective left click button.
I bought the new palmrest with touchpad and after exactly the same problem.

I can get it to work as a left-handed mouse, right button works as the left should, all other functions are fine except not left click.

Surely, I couldn't be pretty unlucky to have bought a palmrest with broken so left click button (it's new)

    Any help would be appreciated

What I will say maybe you were simply no chance and you had installed another faulty touchpad module, but to be honest, it will be very strange

In my case, the control panel? mouse? last tab (Setup button) contain additional options to control the touchpad features.

My laptop uses the touchpad Alps and the Alps touchpad utility is installed.
This tool provides additional parameters for touchpad left and right, click.
I did not change these options, but of course it of possible to disable the left and right click in this area.

  • On Satellite M40X touchpad does not work perfect

    Hallo

I can still move my cursor with the touchpad, but when I key touchpad with my finger to open or select an item that no longer works. The two buttons below the touchpad working ok. I tried to reinstall the driver but it does not solve the problem.

    Thank you

    Hello

First, you need to check the settings for the Touchpad in the mouse properties
You'll find Advanced tab use the advanced feature
Now you should see a lot of settings that are responsible for the use of the touchpad.
Do a preview. If all the settings are ok, well in my opinion, the touchpad is broken and you need a new.

In this case, you should contact Toshiba service in your country.

    Hello

    I have a similar suggestions and proposals of solution;
First check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS. If this is not the case, try to update.

But to be honest, I doubt that this could be a BIOS problem. It sounds more like a problem with a hardware component.
I remember that my friend had a similar problem.
The Courvite of mouse and touchpad jumped on the screen and was not usable
It's a keyboard question EPA has replaced the keyboard and the problem disappeared.

But this does not mean that your keyboard is broken it is perhaps only an option

Anyway, the ASP must check hardware components; for example, the new adapter must be tested too

  • Right click on my new Y50-70 touchpad no longer works

For some strange reason, right click on the touchpad (lower right button) on my Lenovo Y50-70 has stopped working.

Left click still works without any problem.

An external USB mouse without any problems, as well, both left & right click.

I'm having a hard time to believe that the (hardware) button itself was broken up. This laptop has been treated very gently.

This would be a matter of adjustment?

If so, how can I restore his features right click?

    Thank you.

You have a momentum or Synaptics touchpad? Mine is momentum.

    Mine is Synaptics.

UPDATE1: I just found a driver with a date of package a little bit later, but it has the same exact version number (17.0.14.81)

    http://support.Lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds100271

Anyway, I'll download it and see what happens. I have nothing to lose.

Update2: I double clicked on the 49tp02ww.exe (which has expanded worldwide in C:\drivers\Touchpad Driver (Synaptics, momentum, Alps)), then click to continue installation of the driver itself (same version as already installed! 17.0.14.81). In the end, it prompted me to reboot. I not a not restart, just tried right click of touchpad and lo & behold, it works.

This isn't really a solution, because now reinstall the driver whenever the right click mysteriously disappears is more than a temporary workaround solution, not a solution, but I will accept it for the moment.

Note: I didn't have to uninstall the existing driver at all.

The mouse properties window is now different, if:

  • Touchpad HP ENVY 4-1215dx problems

There are a few problems with the touchpad on my laptop 4-1215dx HP ENVY.  One problem is the bottom of the touch pad, which is used for left and right clicks.  Sometimes the click noise is very loud and sound like something is broken, and the click does not work.  If I put the laptop mode only 'sleep' and leave it for 3-4 hours, everything works when I exit mode "Eve".  I highly doubt to update or reinstall the driver would fix the loud rattling noise.

The second problem occurs on when you tapoterez the main part of the touchpad to make a right or left click.  I have tap several times, and the click does not work.  It works after taking the laptop out of fashion 'sleep'.

The two problems are random and cannot be re-created at will.  Due to the loud click noise I think something can be broken with the touchpad or the motherboard underneath.  If the touchpad is broken, can it be replaced or what I have to live with it or get a new laptop?  Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Gary

    Hi @garyg45

I saw your post about the problems with the touchpad of your wife. From what you described, it could be a hardware problem with the touch pad. I suggest you reinstall your Synaptics TouchPad because it is a solution that requires no disassemble the laptop or send it in for repair.

    Synaptics TouchPad Driver (Windows 7)

    Synaptics TouchPad Driver (Windows 8/8.1)

If you have had the laptop for less then one year or bought a long warranty give us a call for a repair. You can reach HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or Start here if you live outside of North America.

The TouchPad is a replaceable part and page 54 of your Maintenance and Service of Guide , you will find instructions on how to replace it and the compatible replacement part numbers. Do not do this if you are in warranty, as this leads to the cancellation.
