  • Why Firefox 4 is not save my browsing history, even when the setting is set to hold, and the incognito isn't on?

Since the update 4, my browsing history is not saved. The settings say that we recall history, and private browsing is not on. Does not work on my computer at home (64 bit Win7) or desktop (32 bit, XP).

  • Firefox won't save, preferences, passwords, bookmarks, or bookmarks & imported settings of Safari.

Firefox won't save bookmarks, passwords or preferences. He also won't save Favorites and imported settings of Safari. I tried the suggestions of help, but nothing seems to work. All the settings seem to be correct. I reloaded the software several times. When I allow Firefox import settings of Safari, it takes more than 40 minutes and then loses everything when I restart Firefox. I tried to start Firefox in safe mode, but it does not help.

I use Mac OS on a MacBook Pro 17 "2011 start 10.6.8. Everything else on the computer seems to work very well.

The problems are gone now. However, I'll never know exactly what that caused them. When I restarted the computer in safe mode problems continue. But when I tried to restart my computer does not recognize the hard drive in safe mode or in normal mode.

It is possible that the Firefox problems were caused by a faulty hard drive.

I was able to rebuild the directory with Disk Warrior and transfer my files, but the disk would not boot. Fortunately, I had a spare hard drive. I installed and reloaded all my software and data from scratch. I also downloaded the latest version of Firefox. Firefox works fine now.

Thanks for all your suggestions. They may not have fixed this particular problem, but I learned a few new tricks from you to solve other problems.

  • How to record my browsing history in a separate file, before you clean my memory cache

I have a Windows based 30.0 on a desk. I want to 'clean up' my cache, but save my browsing history in a separate file is available for me in the future for reference. I don't know where this information is stored and it doesn't seem to be a menu item to save it like you can with bookmarks.

Glad we helped, thanks for posting back.

I scored cor - el's response as the solution.

May be useful to recall that the nirsoft utilities gives you access to a list of history, but this is no will create or recreate the history of Firefox as for example used for the display of the results in the address bar

  • Why is the box to remember password is gray? It used to work now it won't save them.

Why is the box to remember password is gray? It used to work now it won't save them.

This could be because you have set Firefox not remember the history. Who did you intentionally? It is defined in the Options dialog box:

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > privacy

Maybe it would work if you choose "Use the custom settings for history" and not to turn off specific things that you want to disable.

    A little luck?

  • I copy - paste from my old profile again places.sqlite, I got my favorites return, but I do not receive my browsing history. I use firefox 26. Any idea?

My old firefox does not often enough, so I uninstalled it and deleted the lalala preferences. But I save my profile. And then I install the new firefox (firefox 26.)
But after I copy - paste places.sqlite, I don't fit my browsing history, I only get my favorites
    So yes, an idea?

You did to be sure to remove all the other files in places?

You can consult the database places.sqlite with this extension:

Try to use the SQLite Manager extension in Firefox to inspect the database places.sqlite file.

  • My browsing history deletes itself.

Maybe if enough people ask this question it will get answered. My browsing history deletes itself out. All my history settings are defined to save the history. I tried a custom configuration, the value in the same way, nothing helps. This all started with version 10. I never had this problem before.

Ask a question on the forum of "Advanced SystemCare v5" on the next page and check your settings with one of the contributors there. A quick review of the very limited manual indicates that there can be 2 places in the program where you need to make adjustments in the history of Firefox.

  • my privacy setting is stuck on do not forget history, won't stay on using the custom settings for history, after I've selected and click ok

When I go to tools, Options, privacy and "Use the custom settings for history" of the value and then click on OK it won't save. It remains on "Remember history", even if she never will save "remember history" as I tested it. It seems if be produced after these recent last Firefox update. Anyone know why I can not choose "Use the custom settings for history", as is the parameter I want to use?

Why aren't satisfied with the history settings by default that you currently have?

Any changes (for example, to disable the cookies third party or form not given memory or keep cookies until you close Firefox and make an exception for the cookies you want to keep) that you will cause "use... custom parameters. "to be selected if you really want to see.

  • Why my iCloud won't save my photos

I bought more storage but iCloud won't save my photos, I have 50 GB of data and its available 49.1 says. I'm afraid that if I restore it I won't lose all my photos and videos.

What makes you think that iCloud is not back up your photos? If you use iCloud photo library, the photos are "stored" in iCloud, but not in the backup.

Go to settings > general > storage & use iCloud > iCloud > storage management > your device. You see pictures in the backup?

  • 43 Firefox no longer uses my browsing history to offer my sites frequently visited in the URL bar. Do I have to use a search engine?

I just downloaded firefox 43. In the past, I was able to visit many of my favorite sites by typing just a few of the first words. For example, by typing the letters "sl" firefox would immediately suggest slashdot.org and I could just press the right key and type entry. But it seems the update for firefox 43 wiped out this functionality (or worse, my browsing history). Is it possible to restore the old behavior? Really sucks. I don't want to type the name of the whole of the site each time...

    Thank you

  • Delete my browsing history to older Firefox?

    Hello

I'm just curious to know what is happening with my browsing history in Firefox. I have authorized in March and then has not used the Internet again until mid-April. Since then, I have not allowed once. At present, all of April - June seems to have disappeared, and June is the starting point of which my story currently trails on so far, August.

I'm the only one with access to this machine, and I don't have a pretty good memory to remember if I did or not not clear history, I did not. Firefox hides history after a certain period of time? Or could thing go? I wouldn't know that I my story at my ease, if I can go back and check if I need to find some old information/references.

I would appreciate a response to this, that the Internet doesn't seem to know a lot about this specific problem.

The current versions of Firefox keep a maximum number of page visited and have no limitation in time for the story.
Firefox automatically determines the number of pages can be kept without affecting performance.

You can see the current value of the maximum value of the read-only pref places.history.expiration.transient_current_max_pages on the topic: config page.

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.

  • Why isn't my browser history appear?

I have my browser set to remember my story, but when I go to the sidebar to look at the browser history, nothing shows up! Also, when I close a tab (for example a tab of this site), and I'm going to the 'recently closed tabs' option under the 'history' section, the Mozilla icon appears on the tab I have just closed. I hope you understand what I mean. Help, please!

In respect of the history Manager, do you mean the "history" menu drop-down, then the option "show all history"? If so, then when I click on "show all history" a lot of the history of my browser from today is still missing. I also went to my Firefox profile, looked "places.sqlite" files, & décliqués the thing 'read only '. That seemed to fix one of the other problems I had where I could not remove one of my favorites (the "delete" option was did not highlight. However, I think that this particular issue is corrected now. I just wish I could understand how to restore the rest of my browser history I had 3 months ago. Thanks for the help though.

  • I updated FF to 38.0.1 and now I now I have no Favorites, browsing history or addons. How can we get EVERYTHING?

I was updating my software and addons, everything was good.

I downloaded the FF 38.0.1 Mozilla update and restarted FF and then everything was gone.

My bookmarks, history, addons and passwords, all missing. I can connect to google and reinstall my addons, but how do I restore my bookmarks and browsing history?

Thanks in advance for your help guys.

Hi, it could be a good idea to try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

If this does not help, you can try this for the restoration of the bookmarks: open bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > restore and see if you have a backup there.

    Or please see-

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.
