C++ = > LV: array, pointer and memory problem

Hello

To research and spent a few days on this...

I have the following function in C++, which returns a pointer(float *) in an array of float, I need to be dumped in a block of code. I created the DLL and I loaded it in the DLL to LV function (everything is ifne I see and I add the parameters) and accordingly implemented the following example. I then had to find a way to get the pointer to work. All the examples use U32, not a float... There is no float * double or type... back... How is it that is managed?

So I think I'm sort of on the right track by searching and using the example here:

http://www.NI.com/example/28672/en/

I'm sure that isn't true, b/c I simulate the DLL code in MSVS and it works perfectly, but when I have the port, the data are bad... but I get size of 4 floats. ALSO... the memory of DLLS don't reset... so if I run it for the first time, it will calculate the data for n = 0 ==> = 1000 n (see photo), but the next run instead of repeat when I press play, data will begin to n = 1000, ==> n = 2000 all I want to do is pass an array of size 3 type of float data our of my DLL , and in labview... race LV and then stops, the memory will NOT keep its value but reset...

Here's the function, call others, but you can see:

char * getYawPitchRoll (float Gx, float Gy, float Gz, float Ax, Ay float, float Az, __int32 msTimeStamp)
{
char * YPRptr = YPRDEG; SIZE OF 3 FLOATS DATA TABLE
getYawPitchRollRad (Gx, Gy, Gz, msTimeStamp, Ax, Ay, Az); written in an array (float) of global variable 'YPRDEG '.
UpdateYPRDEG();
Return YPRptr;
}

Also attached photo of LV code and library settings *.

Why is it so ridiculous for LV to manage?

Please help, I'm out of gas here.

Thank you

-Peter

You must change the table Type, then set the table on pointer data in Table Format. I've never had this problem with variables keeping their previous value and my C is a little rusty, so I'm not sure your problem of Globals. If they are initialized on charge then Taki solution should work, even if repeatedly loading and unloading of the dll should not be necessary. Or maybe you could initialize the when you call your main function? MC

    Hello
I have a problem with my new Toshiba A50-106. There are Celeron M 1, 5 GHz inside. That all specifications for this processor FSB speed should be 4x100MHz and for my memory bus speed should be 2 x 133, but when I check in SiSoft Sandra 2004 I see 4x187MHz (748 MHz) FSB and the speed of the Bus of Mem 2x249MHz (4 98 MHz). I can't fix it myself, because there is no such option in the BIOS and there is no standard software from Toshiba.
Consequence of this is the problem of the temperature of my cpu. It is on average 54 c in an idle state.
Perhaps you have had the same problem or knows what is in him and you can help me.

    Hi michael,.

to your first question, have you run Sandra 2004 in battery mode because in battery mode CPU manages to set the speed of the FSB and memory also bus speed!

So, try once more on AC power mode and let me know the results.

Also, you should check these results with different bechmarking systems because these programs work differently.

  • New PPr upgrade and memory problems now

I upgraded my version of PPr CC 2015 20 days ago and I went back to make a project that I had previously worked on and made more than 3 weeks. Now, it will not be made and the computer is just running out of memory and encoding is abandoned. I am on Windows 7 with a 2 years old i7 processor and have been able to use the first Pro CC 2015 without problem until the upgrade to the latest version that came out about 20 days ago. Are there bugs that are being developed here? Thanks for any info. I had the project made out by removing all effects to make sure it was a memory problem and quite sure the file render out with effects off the coast. However, I could make with effects on before this update.

    Thanks for you response Brian.

Can you remove the effects of light and then give it a shot? Effects of light seem to be common with those who have reported this problem.

    Thank you

  • Performance and memory problem

    Location:

Have a mapping in Informatica (SDE), who joins about 15 tables from the OLTP database to create the staging table. This process joins the tables such as accounts, orders, and control elements. Great process that joins with very large tables. The process has been running in about 18 minutes, a change has been made.

    Change:

Added three additional tables in the join (account tables and references) to pull 5 new fields. Two of these paintings are large enough with the third being small.

    Question:

Now, the process that was running in about 18 minutes is more than 8 hours to run. If I take the SQL mapping code and run it in SQL Developer, it runs less than a minute.

    Possible cause:

Don't know what the problem is that suddenly caused the process to change so dramatically. One thought is that the addition of three new tables in the join can be maxing some Informatica cache in temporary memory (storage). Looking at the workflow and I noticed that the size of the buffer of DTM has been set to 36 m. Not sure if this aspect will have to be increased, or if there is another parameter that we need change. Any insight and help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you...

Better find an Informatica forum with expert tool specific.

    See you soon

  • Function of memory in the loop control and Simulation - problem of the ODE Solver

    Hello

I'm correctly using the control loop & simulation to simulate the behavior of what is essentially a shock absorber-spring-mass system. In the process of change in time (dt) is used to integrate an arbitrary value. I use a rack depending on memory to store the time, to calculate the change of time (dt).

The simulation is quite complex, because of the precision required, not all the ODE solvers can all support. Currently I use the Adams-Moulton method, this works very well for the simulation. However, it cannot detect the change in time, the change is constantly zero. This problem has auto market by using an another ODE Solver, but then the simulation has been messed up instead (even when I listen to the step sizes and tolerances). So I'm pretty confident that Adams-Moulton is one of solver ODE best suited to the problem at hand.

Is there another way to store the previous hour and use it calculate lag, that the use of the memory function? Everyone knows about these problems before?

I did a lot of research of error using the probe, but I'm sure that there is a problem with the ODE Solver and memory function. See the image below, showing basic how is calculated the change in time.

I'm pretty new to LabVIEW, so if there is something else I missed I would be happy to hear it.

PS! I set the tolerance minimum step of size/relative and absolute for the Adams-Moulton to simulate the behavior of the system properly.

    Problem solved!

It turns out that the ODE Solver has struggled because of two "table 2D find" used functions. This was created for the interpolation/extrapolation, which caused a problem constantly and the ODE Solver could not resolve correctly, so the functions of memory doesn't work does not correctly or the other.

By increasing the table manually, I could use closest method instead, with also good results as interpolation.

  • I looked under system restore points and the earlier it had was on March 27, which was still after that I got problems

Good so my computer has some corrupted files... I looked under the system (Yes, including the section 5 days ago) restore points, and the earlier it had was on March 27, which was still after that I got problems... I want a later date... Help, please.

    Hello

If there is no previous restore points until 27 March, including even more that 5 days more then they just do not exist

and you can not do something which

    Follow these steps instead:

    Run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

    Hello

When your computer doesn't have enough memory for all the actions it is trying to perform, Windows and your programs can stop working. To help prevent information loss, Windows will inform you when your computer is low on memory. You can also learn to recognize the signs of low memory and take measures to prevent the problem. Insufficient memory problems occur when your computer is running out of RAM and becomes virtual memory. This can happen when you run more programs that the RAM memory installed on the computer is designed to support. Low-memory problems can also occur when a program free up memory that it needs more. This problem is called memory overuse or a memory leak.

You can consult the following Microsoft articles and check if it helps.

Well, as a first step, you use two utilities questionable; SlimWare & IObit, if you used either to "optimize" your system or use the driver verifier, who knows what problems you have caused to your system.

Uninstall both, before using an "undo" option, if programs have such.

Visit the HP support for your model, then get the correct drivers

  • How to load a pointer data memory in table

I'm trying to interface to a DLL used to manage a piece of hardware. The DLL is written in c. uses _stdcall and the Import Wizard has hooked up with success of most screws in a library; many of them work everything just as it is. I have also played with the knot of library function call and think that most of the time, I got the hang of it. I ran successfully for the odd Windows API call (e.g., MessageBox). However, I am a newcomer in Labview. My problem is related to a DLL function that requires a pointer to a block of memory, in which he then dealt with the material (in the form of table of UINTs) data. I want to display these data in Labview, through a table I guess. I think I found everything I need to do in terms of creating a table and hanging until the node of library function call with an input pointer.

I hope this would work IF the block of memory has been fully completed until the function has returned. HOWEVER, this is not how the DLL function. It creates a thread that exert to put data in the memory block after the function in the DLL. Extra features are available for face to discover if the data transfer is complete. I guess this is enough to refute the marshaling of data in Labview, unless there is some special commands for this purpose.

I thought maybe I should allocate the memory using the Windows API (LocalAlloc LPTR flagged so I get a pointer) and I wrote a little VI that allocates and releases the memory that seems to work. This way I can release memory when the transfer is complete. MY PROBLEM is, given the pointer to the block of memory, as returned by LocallAlloc, how can I get Labview to read the memory in an array of integers.

I am now a little stuck and would like to receive advice on one, how to convert the block of memory, or on a way to approach things btter.

    TIA

    SteveJM wrote:

So I have a working solution, which is basically the same idea as your suggestion, but uses the Windows API. I took the trouble to mention it, but when I looked more closely at 'MoveBlock', 'DSNewPtrt' etc, I realized that they are a static C library. This means that using them requires that you have a C development system and knowledge how to build DLLs on that. As it happens that causes me a problem, but it seemed like a hammer in this case because the routines you need are already in the kernel32.dll module. [Yes that makes specific Windows, but then you would need rebuild your dll for each operating system in any case].

This paragraph is completely inaccurate.  These functions are integrated into the runtime LabVIEW, without which your LabVIEW code will not work.  You have the guarantee that if you can run your LabVIEW code, or in the development environment or as a compiled application, these functions are available.  No need for a C development system (if that were the case, don't you think someone would have mentioned in one of the many messages on this forum on the use of MoveBlock?).

    SteveJM wrote:

It is true that you need to find a way to pass the pointer to the destination of reference. In other words, using a "handful" I guess. One of the difficulties is that the documentation for Labview is rather imprecise on what happening coming in and out of the function call. Unfortunately, the meaning of "Handle" is very dependent on context, so documentation should be much more detailed. If you select 'Manage' rather than "Pointer table" minimum size box disappears implying that Labview will take a pointer to a pointer to a format of Labview. It would then allow the size information in the allocation of the table and set the offset pointer approprately when passing a pointer to the function that would fill the memory. If the size of the table was large enough, it might be useful to tweak with this to avoid the copy useless (and allocation), but I don't have time now, unless I find the best literature which explicitly explains this gathering takes place for each option in the dialog box.

All the help you need is available.  Set up a call library function node to pass by handle, close the configuration dialog box, right-click on the function call library node and choose Create .c file...  You will get a draft of C with all structs defined for you, and you will see that the handful of LabVIEW table includes size information.  There is no "triage."  He is just passing pointers autour (and a few and Word-permutation of bytes due to problems of "endianness").  When you pass an array of pointer to array value, you get what you expect - LabVIEW dereferences the handle once and passes the pointer of table.  It's exactly like a C function call.  Nothing unusual occurs when the call is returned (with the exception, even once, "endianness" switch if necessary).  That said, it's a bad idea to do what you want to do with a handle, because LabVIEW is allowed to move the table when he likes and has no way to know that some other functions still has this memory block to stay where he is.

I need to delete points, usually I can remove them by double clicking on it and pressing the delete key, but they will not simply remove by clicking in the field and using the delete key, as would be normal. Sometimes it takes a few tries to remove the points, and then I can connect.

    Hello:

The only suggestion I can offer would be manually install the graphics driver Vista support for your laptop and driver, page and see if it works...

BTW, the nc6400 has the mobile Intel 945 chipset, not the 965.  The 6910p has the 965 chipset.

Download and run this driver... You will probably get an error of unsupported operating system.

    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=1847705&swItemId=ob_59975_1&swEnvOid=2103#tab1

    Conclusion of any windows error.

Go to Device Manager and click on the video controller (or Microsoft based Display Adapter) who need drivers.

    Click the driver tab.

Click on set to update driver.

Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file.

This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp38833.

Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and see if the pilot goes like this.

    Then restart.

If your nc6400 has this problem with the SMSC Infrared driver with the! Marc, I went into the BIOS, found the menu of Ports and disabled the infrared port, saved and restarted.

That got rid of the problem of device.

I don't know of anyone who uses the infrared port anyway.

  • Jumping mouse pointer and Vista "busy circle" using WMP

When I plug in a "memory stick" SanDisk, WMP trying to 'sync', 'something something '.  The mouse pointer and the Vista 'busy circle' jumping around.  I disabled the auto-start, I deleted the box "Start synchronization when the device connects" and I tried all the options in Sync Center.  WMP recognizes the different sizes of "memory sticks" and each is full.  Sometimes, the "memory sticks" shows in the library list.  I ended up the sync on a partnership, but this command is grayed out on the other.  The side "edit" of WMP sometimes shows the "memory stick" he said here drag the items to synchronize.  Sometimes the side "edit" of WMP says "connect the device.  Once in about 50 tries, WMP actually synchronize with the "memory stick".  I use the memory sticks for data transfer and storage only.  I NEVER want anything to synchronize!  I'm from the old (old, old, old read) school, so if I want something copied, I will use the copy command.  I've seen similar problems here and tried the solutions provided, unfortunately, nothing seems to work.  HELP PLEASE!
    TYVM!

After the cohabitation on maybe 10 different forums, I came across an apparent solution.
Apparently, the "guilty" is the Portable device enumerator Service.
When I disabled it, my problems went away.

Follow this step to turn off the service.

    1. click Start and type services.msc in the start search box and press on enter.

    2. scroll through the list and select the service.

    3. right click on the service and choose the Propertiesoption.

    4. you can change the Startup type to disable or the status of the service to stop.

    Good luck to all!

Important info if you received a STOP Code

If you received a blue error screen, or a stop code, the computer stopped abruptly to protect against data loss. A hardware device, its driver or software might have caused this error. If your copy of Windows is shipped with your computer, contact your computer manufacturer. If you have purchased
Windows separately from your computer, Microsoft provides support. To find contact information for Microsoft or the manufacturer of your computer, Contact Support.

If you have experience with computers and try to recover from this error, follow the steps in the Microsoft article solution STOP (blue screen) errors in Windows.

These actions could prevent a mistake like this does not happen:

    1. Download and install updates for your computer from Windows Update device drivers.
    2. Scan your computer for computer viruses.
    3. Check your hard drive for errors.

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA parameters

The following settings are displayed on the blue screen.

    Parameter Description

    1

    The referenced memory address

    2

    0: Read operation

    1: Write operation

    3

Address that referenced memory (if known)

    4

    Reserved

If the driver responsible for the error can be identified, its name is printed on the blue screen and stored in memory location (PUNICODE_STRING) KiBugCheckDriver.

    Cause

Bug control 0 x 50 usually occurs after the installation of a faulty hardware or installation failure of material (usually associated with defective RAM, either main memory, L2 RAM or RAM video cache).

Another common cause is a defective system service installation.

Antivirus software can also trigger this error, as can a corrupted NTFS volume.

    Resolution

    Fix a defective hardware problem:
if the material has been added to the system recently, remove it to see if the error recurs. If the hardware failure existing, remove or replace the faulty component. You must run the diagnostics of material provided by the manufacturer of the system. For more information about these procedures, see the manual of your computer.

    Fix a defective system service:
disable the service and confirm that this resolves the error. If so, contact the manufacturer of the system service on a possible update. If the error occurs during the system startup, restart your computer, and then press F8 to menu mode characters that displays the choice of operating system. In the Windows Advanced Options menu that results, select the last known good Configuration option. This option is most effective when a pilot or a service is added at a time.

    A problem of antivirus software:
disable the program and confirm that this resolves the error. If this is the case, contact the manufacturer of the program about a possible update.

    Fix a corrupted NTFS volume:
run Chkdsk /f /r to detect and repair disk errors. You must reboot the system before the start of the analysis of disk on a system partition. If the SCSI hard disk, check the problems between the SCSI controller and the drive.

Finally, check the system log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help determine the device or driver that generated the error. Disable the cache in memory of the BIOS might also resolve it.

    Remarks

In general, this address is in the released memory or simply not valid.

This cannot be protected by a try - except Manager - it can only be protected by a probe.
