• My HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One Printer does not scan the black and white film strips or slides.

  Your C8180 can scan slides or films fixed on the memory card.  This will allow you to test the scanning equipment.

  Have you checked the settings > General > accessibility > greyscale > power off.

  If this does not work ty settings > General > accessibility > zoom > on. Triple, tap the screen with three fingers. Tap choose filter. Click None. Triple, tap the screen to get rid of the menu zoom. If you have enabled greyscale in zoom you can disable it in zoom.

  I made a black and white video clip in a 3D program to act as a mask for the correction of an area specific during the animation of the colors (rather than make many separate images and load each as a channel for each frame of the real animation).   The printer Officejet Pro 8100 has the same print mechanism like its counterpart of all-in-One Officejet Pro 8600.  This printer has a print head mechanism that contains 4 individual cartridges: CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black).

  It will replace the cartridge if the unit provides a message from one of the colors being empty, until the unit will resume printing.  This is a retention mechanism to avoid the product from damage.  I hope this helps.

  Unfortunately, it is not possible to print using the black and white, while one of the ink cartridges are empty.

  Yes, this kind of technique can be accomplished with Photoshop Touch, the process may be slightly different than using Photoshop CS5. One of the features of Photoshop Touch is the painting with effects (Saturation, color, temperature, black & white, Dodge Balance / burn, brightness / contrast, Shadows / Highlights, curves, hue, sharpness, comic strip and a pencil). One of the tutorials included with the product market by taking a picture of a horse color, paint the background in black and white and then paint with a saturation increased on the horse itself to bring out.   You should be able to print with just the black cartridge installed.

  Here a link to the manual. On page 30 in details how to use mode single-cartridge to operate your printer using only a single print cartridge.

  One thing to try is the engraving tool.

  First, duplicate the background layer and work on the double. This is the course retains the original.

  Here, I started with a big brush size soft as shown in this snapshot. I used the range of midtones Burn tool by default and 50% exposure, but you can experiment with other values of these.

  Here's how to adjust the color temperature:

  When you go to print a document, click on "Show details" (next, where it says PDF). Then click on 'TextEdit' and click on 'Type/quality paper.' From there, you can select the grayscale, black and white or color and toggle various levels of quality (Normal, Best project). If you use the grayscale function, you can choose just to use the black cartridge only.

  This printer was designed to function as a system of four cartridges, so you must have all four available ink cartridges in order to be able to print.
