Can Tecra A6 - I install Windows 7?

Does anyone know if the Tecra A6 (A60E) is OK with the new Windows 7 RC?

Shaun

Why you should not be able to install Windows 7 on Tecra A6?

So I think that you can install Windows 7 but I n t understand why so many people want to install a beta version of the operating system on its laptops. I mean a beta version of the operating system can cause problems and not run stable under Vista or XP. In addition the new Windows doesn t have features they are important and everybody needs this.

For example, I have two laptops from Toshiba. With Vista and XP, but I prefer the laptop with XP. I think it s the operating system more stable I have ever had.

Recently, I bought a HP with Windows 10 Tower preloaded.  I gave up 10.  I would like to return to the Windows 7 desktop.  If I buy or buy this software, I guess I have to 'wipe' 10 of my machine?  Or I would just download 7 top?   What I have found online are instructions for people who have updated to 10 and want to revert to an earlier version of windows.  In my case, I never had an earlier version on the machine I have now.  Is there place where I can get help with installing Windows 7?  Online, local dealer?  Thank you.

If I were you, I call HP and tell them that you do not want this computer with Win10.  They are very likely still sells machines with Win7 for businesses, because most companies do not affect the Win10 with a 10 foot barge pole.

Dell is selling them for sure.  I've been helping my clients by computers Dell Win7 for a very long time now and just had one on my desk a week ago.  Look at the range of Dell Vostro of computers.

The trick is to approach Dell as a businessman, and not as a normal consumer.

My computer came with Windows 7.  Recently, my hard drive failed.  I have four recovery disks that after I bought my computer, I did.  These disks can be used to install Windows on the new drive?

    YES!

I just did mine 01/01/2016, installed a new WD 500 GB HDD black on my laptop ASUS K52F, took my DVD 4 restore disks and restored to Win 7 Home Premium, more 10 Windows, which is sitting on my old HDD in the trash. I'll stick with my Original OEM OS and never improve to WIN 10 times.

NOTE: The only time the restore disks do not work is when you replace your motherboard.

  • Can satellite L300D - I install Windows XP?

Can someone help me or tell me the best thing to do?

I bought my Toshiba Satellite L300D two years ago and it broke last year because I hit it a little because of the internet. So I sent offshore to a friend of my uncle, who has replaced the drive with a 35 GB hard inside you. But now, whenever I turn on my laptop I get the blue screen and it cannot cross, he says that windows can be corrupted and is not loading and it says to use the original installation CD, but I don't have one, but I have a Windows XP one and I would make Windows XP instead of Vista.

Is there anything I can do to get it working again? Please help me quickly

    Thank you

    Hey,.

    > use the original installation CD, but I have not a
Yes, because you have to create this disk yourself using preinstalled creator of media recovery Toshiba as mentioned in the user manual.
Have you read the user manual?

You can order a recovery disc that will restore the original settings of the case:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Of course, you can install Windows XP s no problem. Just make sure you can get all the drivers on the official page of download driver Toshiba. If so, boot from the XP disc and follow the on-screen instructions to install it.

  • How can I download and install Windows XP SP3?

I currently have Windows XP, Service Pack 2 on my IBM ThinkPad.

I tried to follow the instructions on the Microsoft Web site, which is to install through Windows Update. When I go to the Windows Update page and click on the "Custom" button, it says "the website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The options provided below may help you solve the problem. "[Error number: 0 x 80244019]

I suspect it is because I am currently running Windows XP SP2; I'm not allowed to update because I have not yet updated.

The second 'Advanced' option is to install 'manually '. This takes me to a page titled "Windows XP Service Pack 3 Network Installation Package for IT professionals and developers. The title is a bit disheartening, but I was going to get anyway, but when I sailed to the bottom of the page, I read in the description: "DO NOT click DOWNLOAD if YOU ARE UPDATING a SINGLE computer. I can't just ignore a message written in all caps and bold!

In any case, could someone tell me why

    1. The updated release of Windows XP SP3 is, in terms of Microsoft, "more appropriate", and
    2. If it is not appropriate for my single installation on my ThinkPad user, so what do I do?

    Thank you

    Thomas

You can download the stand-alone package for Windows XP SP3 from the following page on the Microsoft Download Center. Although this page shows that the installation package is intended for it professionals and developers, you can download and then install this package.

Important These service packs apply only to 32-bit versions of Windows XP.

  • I am buying a new computer without an operating system installed and you want to know if my Windows 7 Upgrade disk can be used to install Windows 7?

I'll buy a kit of barebones without preinstalled operating system and was wondering if I could use my Windows 7 upgrade disk to install Windows on the new PC.

    Short answer 'NO '.

Upgrade means upgrade. An upgrade can only be used to upgrade a previous version of XP or Vista. You will need to purchase a full retail or OEM version to install on a computer without an operating system.

  • Tecra S1: Cannot install Windows Vista - ACPI.sys driver problem

Get the blue screen when you try to install Vista Ultimate edition on my Tecra S1--> STOP... ACPI.sys incompatibility.

Someone knows how to fix this problem and where can I find an update for this driver?
I already have the latest version of the BIOS (2.50) and don't see any driver update on the Toshiba site...

Someone at - it already correctly installed Vista on this type of laptop?

    Hello, Johnny

Robin is quite right. Tecra S1 is a portable older and certainly not Vista supported. As you know just for laptop with Vista capable sticker are supported Vista and Toshiba offer a BIOS update to make it Vista ready.

I recommend you to use Windows XP Home as before. Optimize Windows XP Home edition preinstalled and you will have very good performance on this laptop more old.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Can satellite A500 - I install Windows 7 64 bit?

I first bought a Satellite A500 with 4 GB of RAM there are a little over 3 months with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium installed. Initially, I got the original dramas with finding drivers 64-bit etc., then it ran OK for a while. After about 2 & a half months I started having BSOD with error message related to a nvidia .sys file. After a few weeks of this, update the latest drivers etc and a number of unsuccessful attempts to diagnose the problem, it's that occur whenever I used the laptop and up he took the touchpad died as well. The company I bought at gave me a laptop replacement.

The new system is also a Satellite A500, and although it has a different model number and a CPU faster it is also virtually identical to the one I had already with 4 GB of RAM and graphics card from nvidia at the same address. However, for some reason Windows 7 32 bit has been pre-installed. I don't know why the company has not installed the 64-bit. A call to the dept tech with the issue gave rise to the answer "better for you", which means that 32-bit is better for me.

My laptop is capable of 64-bit. I know that when you run the 32-bit version, it uses only up to 3.2 GB of installed RAM (my system says 2.99 GB is usable - assume the rest is allocated to graphics?) but I read a post where the poster says it is running 32 bit Win 7 was actually faster than the 64-bit version though even he was not using all the RAM.

    * Can someone tell me if I'm running the 32-bit version of Windows 7 rather than the 64-bit version better? *

    * If I'm better with 64-bit, can I switch to 64-bit or what I need to do a complete reinstall? * No installation disk provided. Assume that the installation files are on the hidden partition.

Although I have not had a BSOD with this new laptop, I had a couple of instances where the system froze temporarily with the messge "your display driver has stopped working" followed by a recovery. Is this a thing Toshiba, nvidia or Windows 7? I have read quite a few other posts of people with laptops similar to mine who have had the same mistakes of Toshiba/nvidia but no resolution. * If it's going to be a problem with the graphics card, I'm better off the coast with 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7? *

Any advice would be appreciated muchly.

    Hello

I a500 and run Windows Ultimate 64-bit, it's best to run 64-bit to 32-bit windows. You must copy of 64-bit Windows to install, it is not big problem to get it. All the drivers you can find on the Toshiba driver page:

  • Can Tecra M8 - I install a VGA card?

Hi, I was a little disappointed with my purchase of my laptop Tecra M8 because most of the games don't work correctly. My question is weather or not I can install a VGA card to make the games such as Call of Duty 4, Warcraft Frozen Throne and World of Warcraft to work properly on my laptop. I would appreciate a response thank you.

Also if you can suggest a model of graphics card, it would be useful. Thank you.

    Hello

This is not possible because the graphics chip you have is soldered on the motherboard and t can be exchanged.
It is perhaps useful for you: http://195.182.196.33/kb0/FAQ7A01ZW0007R01.htm

Furthermore, a Tecra laptop is not designed for games.

  • Why I can't download and install windows xp SP3?

I am running Windows XP Pro SP2. My internet security program is Norton Antivirus online, provided by my ISP, Qwest... When I try to upgrade to SP3, my computer is getting ready for download, begins to check the download, then goes back to prepare for the download. Can I get a failure to download, with Ox80070005 error code I tried to download and install from the center of update and from the Microsoft Download Center, with the same results. Anyone can solve this for me, PLEEEEEEASE!  My computer is an old PC HP Pavilion Media Center Desktop, model #m370n. I connect to the internet through a gateway of Qwest. Model # Actiontec PK5000 modem. Please let know me if more information is needed. Thank you.

[1] your solutions solved my problems!

[2] but, I still wonder if it is advisable to remove the update section of the section add/remove from the Control Panel, already installed updates if updates do not apply to the version and service pack of windows I use!

[3].. .when I was running Norton security, I kept getting messages from the use of the high memory for many programs I was running. So I guess what I'm asking is, how can I safely free up memory on my drive if I am at or near the limit of memory?

A1. Excellent! And kind of you, too much work.

A2. Well, this would be a "double edge" => If you uninstall an older update (in order to "save space") and then find that you need to uninstall a more recent update that replaced (replaced) the former for a reason, you wouldn't be able to do.

That being said, see this discussion archived in another forum (where I also "hanging out") for a few suggestions related to dispose of "unnecessary updates...

A3. Let me ask you this: are seeing you this "high memory use" alerts now?

Speaking of which, you reinstall Norton Internet Security Online of Qwest or have you installed Microsoft Security Essentials to step #6 of my previous answer?

Remember that the available memory is not necessarily related to the amount of available disk space. If you want to read / learn more, see the section of the optimization of your computer here: http://aumha.org/win5/articles.htm

Very generally speaking, running Disk Cleanup every moment & should be all you need to do (especially if you no longer have an installed Norton application). Refer to the section of the free disk space up to here: http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx
